  1. After his betrayal and murder of Whenua, Vakama slipped into the shadows. He curled into a ball and sobbed for what seemed like days. Eventually he was approached by Roodaka, she cradled him in her arms “You did well my king. The Toa were doing nothing but hold you back. Now you can take your true place as ruler of the Visorak horde.” Vakama could do nothing but weep, his eyes flickering between orange and green as he struggled between his true self and the beast that now fought for control. "There is no rush Vakama, take your time, the horde is waiting for you and there is much that you must learn. The weeks passed by as Roodaka worked her way deeper into Vakama’s mind, the Hordika venom within him took more and more control transforming him further, closer to a Rahi than a Toa his mind corrupted and hateful and the memories of his former life slipping away. He had become a true ruler for the Visorak and now Roodaka had a single task for him. “Vakama it is time, release our lord The Makuta. He will thank you and grant you even greater power” Okay so here we have Vakama the Feral King, this is what I imagined he would become if the Hordika venom continued to change him, no longer able to return to a Toa ever again he is a Feral beast and pawn of Roodaka and Teridax. Now even his bright orange flame has turned green with the corruption of the venom that fuels his rage. The same as the Metru Nuva, this is also a revamp of an old moc that I made back around 2007,
  2. Hello everyone. I have sad news today. Waldyr Sant'anna, the Brazilian Portuguese voice of Turaga Vakama in the Miramax trilogy, passed away 5 days ago. Aside from Turaga Vakama, he was famous for voicing Homer Simpson, Eddie Murphy, and many other actors and characters from animated series. He was my favorite voice from the Movie and I will miss him greatly.
  3. Hello, I made made some drawings of characters revolving around fire, two of them being Bionicle characters, I draw these to celebrate the fact that I no longer have a Phobia of Fire! I have spent 90% of my life living in fear of flames but after today I no longer have to worry, ironic that I was scared for so long, considering Tahu was my first set and Favourite Toa, but today I confidently extinguished a spirit burner and even lighted one later on, I even made a new friend in the process! Thank you to everyone on here for being awesome as always, coming on here is always a wonderful part of my day, so linked below is the gallery of three drawings, two of them being Bionicle: https://imgur.com/a/Z2pBY Feel free to share your thoughts on these drawings, and I wish you all the best
  4. The End of Time, by SkullKid Narmoto ran through the thick jungle toward the Temple of Time. The temple’s bell’s tolls were so loud, that it rattled the molecules of his very being. His age was getting to him. His muscles screamed, his armor cracked, but he kept going. Suddenly, the world went black. When Narmoto came to, he was face-first on the ground. As he looked around, he noticed two things. One, the root that tripped him was unusually large. How he didn’t notice it while running befuddled him. The second thing he noticed was the wind against his naked face. His mask must’ve fallen off when he tripped. After a brief survey of his surroundings, Narmoto found his mask. Taking it in both hands, he prepared to return it to its home, but something stopped him dead in his tracks. Was this his mask? It was familiar, but it seemed off. Gone was the ornate red metal and translucent orange ore that made up his mask, and before him was a light orange mask, rounded, save for a grated fixture around the area his mouth would be. The bells chimed again. Narmoto had no time to be confused. He took one last look around before he threw on this alien looking mask, and moved forward. If those bells were chiming, it could only mean trouble. As the Protector of Fire climbed the stairs, he thought back to the past few weeks. Ever since Ekimu returned with news of the Toa’s departure and completion of their destiny, peace had returned to Okoto. Ekimu had returned to his forge, and had taken Narmoto in as his apprentice. He had tinkered with mask making in the past. The art itself was lost for the most part after Makuta and Ekimu’s big clash, but he managed. He’d never made real masks of power, but he’d made his fair share of ornate, non-powered masks for his village. When Ekimu took him on as an apprentice, the mask maker gave him full access. Any material he desired, he got. Any advice he needed was given. Any formula, any power source, everything was at his fingertips. He was content with this life. He even began to consider his retirement as the protector, and whom he might pass the torch too. Things began to change however, when Ekimu encouraged a new task, one that had been puzzling him for ages. The task: the completion of the Mask of Time. Legend claimed that the Mask of Time that lay in the Temple of Time was only one half of a mask. The lower half was lost a long time ago. “I have searched the oldest prophesies, the most ancient of legends, and none give hint of what might of happened to the lower half.” Ekimu mused. “But if it’s impossible to find the lower half, perhaps we can make it a new one.” Many formulas were tried. Ore from a meteorite, possibly the oldest metal on the planet, was gathered. Bones from ancient beings were dug up and carved out to create a frame. After forging, the mask was quenched in water drawn from the Temple of Time. However, no matter what the shape, the density of the metal, or how long it was forged, it shattered every time. With each failure, Ekimu became more and more agitated. Narmoto had never seen the usually calm and collected legend lose his temper. But the apprentice kept at it, despite the continuous failures. It was when a seemingly desperate Ekimu suggested maybe a combination of elements needed to be added to the formula, that Narmoto questioned the master Mask Maker. “With all due respect, my liege, this is not the way. This would lead to destruction! You can’t repeat Makuta’s mistake for this!” A wildness that had occupied Ekimu’s eyes for weeks now had left them as realization fell over him. He excused himself, saying he needed to meditate. Narmoto too took his leave. It was late, and tensions were high. Once he arrived at his home, he finally was able to rest. Unfortunately, this was short lived, for the very same bells that rung now, cried their shrill toll. Narmoto shook his head. He had to focus on the now, not relive the past. The temple’s bells chimed again. He reached the top of the stairs and stopped. Something felt off. Everything felt cleaner, shinier, and new. It felt wrong. “HALT trespasser!” A voice boomed from the open door that faced him. Two figures, tall, slender, and covered from head to toe with armor emerged, wielding shields that depicted the elements. The one with red and gold armor had a shield adorned with images of fire and sparks. The other had blue and silver armor with a shield depicting the ocean and torrential rain. “This is the Temple of Time, stranger.” The red one exclaimed, its words almost sounding like the average Okotian, but with the slight uncanniness that gave away its artificiality. “It is off limits to all except for high level mask makers, and elemental protectors.” Two things went through Narmoto’s mind at once. The first was simply him trying to comprehend what he was looking at. This was impossible. These were ancient automated warriors that he’d learned about on only the most ancient of tablets. They were created by ancient mask makers to protect sacred lands. But they were as ancient as those tablets, and had long since fell into disrepair, without Makuta and Ekimu around to keep them running. But these two automatons were up and running. The second he figured he could solve immediately. “My name is Narmoto, Protector of Fire like my father before me. You might not recognize me because of my mask.” He pointed to his mysterious orange replacement mask. “Incorrect response. Turn back or be forced back.” The blue automaton hammered his shield with his fist in a show of force. Narmoto had no time to question these two. In a swift motion, he removed the cloak he was wearing, and threw it at the face of the blue one. He took advantage of the beings temporary blindness, and unloaded his elemental blaster at its head. It was quick. The blue being fell to the ground, sparks flying from where its head should be. The temple’s bells chimed. Narmoto was about to book it, leaving the red one behind him, but a simple glance changed everything. The red being was gone, replaced by what looked like an Okotian Villiager. “What did you do!?! He was my brother! HE WAS MY FRIEND!” The villager screamed. Narmoto looked over to where the automaton should have been laying, but what he saw gave him the greatest chill he had ever felt. Most of the body was covered by his cloak, but what stuck out were not the feet of the robot he’d just dispatched. They were much smaller. The red villager tackled Narmoto, too distracted to see it coming. “YOU DID THIS TO US! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US!?!” he cried, a deep mourning resonating in his voice. The bells chimed again. “I-I’m not….you…he…you both weren’t like this a moment ago…who are you?” Narmoto stammered. His fear had only just begun, for the villager rapidly began to change. His body broadened, gears and tubes emerged where they weren’t before. His arms and legs shortened, and the hands that gripped Narmoto’s armor began to turn hot as they began to morph into fire laced claws. “I…REMEMBER...WHAT…you…diiiiiiiiiiiiiii…..” An electronic buzz reverberated from the villager’s head, which began to elongate. The now round, buglike being, threw Narmoto to the side. “It…must…be…cleaned….” The creature’s now severely distorted voice said. The robotic bug suddenly jumped at Narmoto. Time inched by as he faced death. There was so much he’d done with his life, but there was so much more he wanted. He’d never completed his mask-maker training. He’d never fallen in love and had a child of his own. He’d never climbed the tallest peak of Mt. Ihu. Mt. Ihu, he thought, that’s not right. Just then, wind blustered by his face as stone stalactites impaled the red beetle-like creature. Narmoto looked for its source. Standing there, triumphant, was Nilkuu, grinning, elemental blaster in hand. “Come, on fire-spitter,” said the Protector of Stone, “You’re gonna let that take you out. I thought fire consumes all?” “Fighting fire with fire was never my strongest suit” Narmoto admitted. Nilkuu hoisted Narmoto to his feet, took off for the main hall. Narmoto looked back, trying to convince himself that he didn’t have killed an innocent life. Nilkuu was the first to speak. “You gonna tell me what that was all about? The new mask, robo-bug back there, the bells?” “It’s a long story, much of which I don’t understand.” Narmoto mused. “But if there are answers to be found, they will be in here.” He pushed open the inner sanctum door, just as a new set of chimes reverberated through the hall. Inside, he could see the stairs that led up to Mask of Time. But unlike the rest of the temple which looked completely refurbished, the inner sanctum appeared to be in further disrepair then they had left it, like millennia had passed with no upkeep. At the top, the other Protectors stood, waiting for the two. “Come on, Kohlii-head!” Nilkuu exclaimed, making his way up the decrepit stairs. “Not a moment to waste!” “Kohlii-head….what?” Narmoto questioned. The term seemed familiar, but he couldn’t place it. He followed his brother in arms up the stairs to meet the other Protectors. Vizuna, Protector of Jungle and Kivoda, Protector of Water were watching the mask from a distance, while Kargot, the Protector of Earth was tending to the Protector of Ice, Izotor, who seemed to be in a daze. “Kargot, what happened?” Narmoto asked, concerned. Kargot looked toward her long-time friend, recognition absent from her eyes. “Who…….Narmoto? What’s with the mask?” Kargot queried. “Not important right now. What’s wrong with Izotor?” “I don’t know.” Kargot looked worried. Narmoto had rarely seen her like this. She was usually the brave one of the lot. “We were the first to get here. When he saw the mask, he tried to grab it, but it….affected him.” Kargot returned her focus to Izotor, who looked around franticly, whistling and clicking like a bird. Narmoto looked to where the Mask was, floating above a basin of water. He noticed the difference immediately. Before when they came to summon the Toa, the mask was golden, and the water in the basin was pure. Now, the mask was rusted over, taking on a more orange appearance, like age had gotten to it. Cracks were forming on the outside, and pieces of it were falling off into the basin. “This is what I was talking about,” said Vizuna, “My tail has been going crazy ever since the bells went off. It has to be the mask.” “I’ve never seen a broken mask do something like this,” Kivoda said, walking over to Izotor. “Do masks usually leak their power when broken?” Everything seemed to click in Narmoto’s mind. These odd fluctuations, the age of the Temple, the resurrection of the Temple guards, all of that must be the Mask’s doing. “It would make sense,” the crimson protector said. “Such powerful masks rarely exist or have been broken…but the Mask of Ultimate Power was shattered by Ekimu, and we all know the results of that.” Dread began to fall over the gathered leaders. The destruction of the Mask of Time could lead to something even more catastrophic than Makuta and Ekimu’s cataclysmic battle. Kargot approached Narmoto. “What should we do? You’re a mask maker now. Do you think we can fix it?” Narmoto reached his hand out, but stopped half way. “I don’t know. I don’t think I should even touch it. Didn’t it mess up Izotor?” “Who?” Kargot asked. “…Izotor…” Narmoto said slowly, “…Izotor, Kargot…our friend.” Narmoto looked around. Izotor was nowhere to be seen. “Izotor…who is Izotor?” Kargot asked again. “There is just the five of us Narmoto.” “No! That’s not right…I…” Narmoto paused. He couldn’t remember what he was fretting about. The name that was just in his mind was gone. Kargot put her hand on his shoulder. “Narmoto! Snap out of it. We need to figure out what to do!” Vizuna spoke up. “My tail is driving me nuts! I can’t…I can’t focus. Maybe if I..” He grabbed for the Mask of Time, but as soon as he touched the rusty mask, he was flung back by an invisible force. The bells chimed again, as Vizuna collapsed on the floor. “Oh no…” Kargot gasped. Kivoda ran over to his fallen brother as Kargot stood by. Narmoto was shaking. Something was wrong. He felt there was something else missing. That couldn’t be right though. There was always just the four of them leading Okoto. Kivoda shook the unconscious Vizuna, trying to wake him. Suddenly, with a swift push, Vizuna launched Kivoda into the air. “NO! This…this isn’t right!” Vizuna cried, as he began to transform. He grew taller, one arm growing longer, and more beast like. His shoulders broadened as his full frame hunched over. “We…we were fighting….spiders.” The bells chimed again as Kargot ran forward to try to calm the now monstrous looking Vizuna. Narmoto ran to help…he couldn’t remember. There was no one to help. He gripped his head as a massive headache rendered him useless. Kargot put up her hands. “Vizuna, it’s going to be alright. Let me help you.” Vizuna jumped back. “No! No! We were fighting…..spiders…..” “Yes, we defeated the Skull Spiders, Vizuna. Come on, we need to get you help.” Kargot said, trying to coax Vizuna from the shadows. “No….the Visorak. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VISORAK!” Vizuna screamed, launching himself at Kargot. A bright light illuminated the chamber, and both Kargot and Narmoto covered their faces. Vizuna cried out in pain. When the light dimmed, Narmoto looked down to see Ekimu blocking the enraged Vizuna. “GO! Narmoto, take the mask, and leave. Return to my forge. I’ll meet you there.” Ekimu grunted, as Vizuna clawed at his shield. Narmoto had the urge to ask questions, but was stopped by Kargot. “We have to go.” She said, urgency in her eyes. Kargot reached for the mask. “NO!” Narmoto said. “Wait! Don’t touch it.” He took a deep breath, his mind clear for the first time in hours. “I believe this is my destiny.” And with that, he grabbed the decaying Mask of Time. Everything went white. Everything was quiet. Everything stopped. Narmoto blinked. No, it wasn’t all white. He could make out the outline of a vast city, reaching far into the distance. He stood on a balcony, overlooking the vast metropolis. This looks…. “Familiar, right?” a voice said. Narmoto jumped. Sitting on the ledge right next to him was a Toa, but not like he’d ever seen. He was grey, thin and lanky, with a mask that looked sort of like Tahu’s did. The Toa pointed to his mask. “My mask reads minds. Don’t freak out too much. You didn’t the first time we met. Krakua’s my name…or do you remember?” “I’m sorry, I think you have me confused for someone else.” Narmoto said, puzzled. Krakua sighed. “I was afraid of that. This will be tougher than I thought.” He paused. “Sit with me, won’t you?” Narmoto, careful to not fall off, took a seat with the tall grey Toa. “Where are we?” “Well, nowhere really. This is just an echo of what once was. Residue of the destruction of the Vahi” The name Vahi resonated in Narmoto’s mind: it was the ancient name of the Mask of Time. Then the rest of what Krakua said hit him like a brick wall. “Wait, what do you mean?” “Maybe it’d be better to show you, Vakama.” When Krakua spoke that name, the world erupted. A massive war surrounded him. Toa of all shapes, colors, and sizes teamed up with other armored beings amongst an onslaught of vicious warriors. Some had toothy grins, others had elongated obsidian helmets with war paint. There were even more of those beetle-looking robots. Amongst the carnage was a hooded figure, holding on high a rusty orange mask, a truly monstrous being under his foot. The Mask of Time Narmoto thought. “It’s the final moments of the War of Spherus Magna. That hooded figure right there is Velika, the last Great Being. He led an army against the combined forces of the Toa and Glatorian. When a great leader called the Shadowed One tried to use the Vahi to secure the victory, he almost lost control, and Velika struck him down.” Narmoto stared at this, confused, which Krakua noticed. “That’s not as important as what’s about to happen.” Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Mask of Time flew out of Velika’s hands, as an orange figure appeared out of thin air, flying overhead. Narmoto immediately recognized the mask he wore as the one he found in the forest. “And there you are. Always seeming to cheat fate, right Vakama?” Krakua laughed. Vakama landed in the arms of a Toa Narmoto immediately recognized as Onua. The other Toa soon gathered around him, to protect the elderly leader. Vakama and Velika began speaking to each other, but Narmoto could not hear their words. “What are they saying?” Narmoto asked Krakua, who frowned. “The details aren’t important, but this was the end. You threatened to break the Vahi, knowing full well what would happen if Velika didn’t stop. You’ve made this gamble once before. This time, though….” Velika raised an arm as he telekinetically began to disassemble the biomechanical beings around him, with a crazed look in his eyes. As more Toa charged, more fell. None could stand his might. Those who didn’t crumble immediately thought twice about charging and backed away. All that stood in his way now was Gali, Onua, Lewa, Pohatu, Kopaka, Tahu, and a gold-clad Toa he mistook for Ekimu. The gold Toa leaped forward, and just as his attack was about to connect, Velika knocked him aside. Each of the remaining Toa put their hand on Vakama. They all knew what was about to happen. “There was no choice,” Krakua said. “Velika had caused so much carnage already, and would cause so much more unchecked. No reality was better than a reality where he ruled.” There was a solemn moment before the hammer came down. The mask cracked. It hit again. Another crack. With each impact, and new crack formed, and in turn, the reality around Narmoto cracked too. Then, it shattered. Everything was white again. It was just him and Krakua sitting on an invisible ledge. Krakua was silent. Narmoto was numb. “After you broke the Vahi, time began to unwind. Everything happened at once, and never happened. Time ran backwards for some while for others it moved forward. The universe ended that day.” He paused. “But it also began that day too. The universe established a reality loop with constants. There is always a threat of shadow to take over the land. There are always six heroes summoned to fight it. There is always an object, imbued with the power of time that holds together that reality, no matter how brief it might be. And then there is always you, a wise sage, with a will of fire to guide the heroes to their task. You may take on other names and faces, but you at heart are always Vakama. Always the mask maker that accidently created this loop in the first place. Every time, the loop plays out the same. Shadow tries to conquer light, but light always prevails. Then, the object imbued with Time falls apart, and the cycle happens again. But this..” Krakua motioned between them.”…this hasn’t happened. In fact, I’ve been waiting for it to happen for what seems to be eons.” Narmoto looked puzzled. “Why you though. Why are you here and no one else from…the first reality?” Krakua shrugged, “I‘m not sure exactly. It could be my destiny, a previous connection we shared, maybe just the universe being cruel, or maybe I’m just your guardian Great Spirit. I’m not even sure if this is the real me. I might just be an echo too. What I do know, and have waited so long to tell you is this. You have a choice to make. You can either break the mask or continue the cycle, which is not the worst way to go. It’s consistent, and though the events might be a product of the Vahi’s influence, the lives are real. Or, you can repair the Vahi. This will stabilize the current reality. I cannot promise everything will return to the way it was, but life will go on here until the end of the natural universe.” Narmoto considered his choices. On one hand, who knows what the next reality would hold, or if he would ever get to this point again. On the other, he wasn’t sure what was left to save. Who knows what havoc the Mask of Time caused outside of the Temple? In his hand appeared his realities Mask of Time. It was so fragile, like it would shatter at any moment. “It’s your choice, brother.” Krakua said, his voice fading “I’m just the messenger. This decision is up to you.” Reality bled back in like a liquid, and filled the space around him. He was back in Ekimu’s Forge, what remained of the Mask of Time in hand. Narmoto took the mask, and put it on the table. He knew exactly what he was going to do. He wasn’t a destroyer or a fixer. He was a creator. He heated up the forge, took a pair of forging tongs, and began to melt down the Mask of Time. As he did, he could feel the coils of space-time begin to unravel around him. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion, but he persisted. He took the molten metal, and poured into a round cast. As it cooled, he began to hammer and mill out the form burned in his memory. Reality began to fade as white oblivion over took it. After what felt like years, or maybe it was seconds, it was done. And for a brief moment, everything felt normal. Narmoto took the mask, complete for the first time, and put it on. He turned to face the oncoming oblivion. Now Narmoto thought, Let’s see what a real mask maker can make. Then, Narmoto, Vakama, and the countless names he was called before now, activated the Vahi for the last time.
  5. So we know that when a Matoran becomes a Toa their design becomes the same as how they imagine a Toa to look, for Takua he became like a Toa Nuva and the Toa Metru took after Lhikan and other pre-existing Toa from Metru Nui. So where exactly do Turagas' forms come from? Although the Toa Metru transformed into similar looking Turaga, why did Lhikan and Dume have different Turaga forms even though they are all based off of the same Toa Metru build? Could this be a case more of the set design not being entirely canon? as the movies show that the 6 Turaga on mata nui have the same build as the ones on Metru Nui, although this could have just been a way of cutting corners like how the Matoran keep the same design throughout the films. Also could the variance in form have anything to do with the means of transformation into Turaga?
  6. Story Party is running in Vakama's mansion. Toa and Matoran are drinking, talking about their lifes, work... But sometimes, they talk about serious things. More and more Skakdi are moving to the city. Most of them are your average neighbours, shaking hands and overally being nice. But soon, first gang of rather young Skakdi formed. First, it were few street fights, but soon it grew into terror, killing people and growing progressively bigger. But still, party was running, people really forgetting about their troubles, some of them singing drunkenly. Suddenly, someone shouted. People turned their heads. Suddenly everyone saw it. What had been party just few seconds before was now silence. It was Vakama's dead body just in the middle of the living room. Police arrived soon after and closed mansion. Nobody could get out, nobody could get in. Everyone, but a few people, were pointing at young Skakdi. "It was him!" they shouted, "arrest him!" This was going to take some time. Everybody soon started walking around the house, searching for some clues. Rules Each person takes on a role of one party guest, including Matoran, Toa, Turaga and even Skakdi himself. Role of each person is known to everyone, but only one of them is a murderer. Each round, you choose one room to examine, each having indirect clue, leading to the murderer. This one action is sent through PM to me (Nik) and after round ends, clue that you find is sent to you. If you believe you know who killed Vakama, what weapon did he use to do so and what was his motive, post it into main topic. This is however limited to one accusation per round and can be first posted when you collect at least 3 clues (ie after round 3). Clues can also change, so you can examine each room every second round (eg Library, Cellar, Library, Cellar). Murderer may target one person so he can't place accusation that round without revealing his identity and of course can also post accusations to disguise himself. If murderer survives for 8 rounds, he escapes the mansion and wins. Each round will ideally take from 24 to 48 hours. No sharing of clues! Where would the fun be? Rooms: - Hallway - Bedroom - Living room - Workroom - Kitchen - Bathroom - Library - Basement Possible weapons: - Knife - Zamor launcher - Kanoka launcher - Spear - Garden scissors - Kolhii stick - Rusty pipe - Guitar No list for motive Roles (also possible murderers) Le-Matoran, young investigator. Gets a little bit more from some clues. Ga-Matoran, very drunk and thus very talkative, can target someone every second round to get a clue. Takua can target two rooms on second, sixth, seventh and eighth round. Onepu, archiver, can always get more from the clue found in Library (but still can't examine it on every round). Nuju can read minds, if he sees someone in a room he is examining, he might get a clue from him. Matau, the gardener, has special location to search in, garden. Tahu can skip stating motive in accusation but only once per whole game. Onua sees much better in basement and can get more from clues found here. Skakdi can state two different weapons in two of his accusations per game (eg Visorak, sword or laser rifle, for fun). Registration is now officialy closed. Players 1. ToaTimeLord - Onua 2. Trijhak - Takua 3. Valendale - Skakdi 4. Lucina - Onepu 6. jed1ndy - Nuju 7. FF - Tahu
  7. Okay, so the powers that Toa have are pretty well established. They have an elemental power, a mask power, can make Toa stones, protodermis seals, form Kaita, etc. Matoran have low-level elemental power that manifests as elemental resistance (mostly... sorry, De-Matoran) and cannot use mask powers. But then there are the oddballs. Characters using powers that don't come from their mask or element. The most common one is receiving visions of the future- Vakama is the most obvious example, but it's also happened occasionally to Kopaka, Gali, and a few random Matoran in the MNOGs. What's interesting is that the visions are similar to those granted by a Mask of Clairvoyance in that the user doesn't control when they occur, and the images and sounds they experience are somewhat abstract in nature, rather than being a literal depiction of what will happen. Perhaps the mask simply hones or enhances an ability that is theoretically already present in all Matoran and Toa? Or do those who get visions "naturally" have a glitch of some sort that makes it happen? There's a lot of evidence for Gali having some sort of general psychic ability- the Hapka books depict her as empathetic and perceptive to the point of near mind-reading other Toa, she levitates herself while meditating in MoL, and she can create some form of mind-link with Takua (it could be a manifestation of the latter's Av-Matoran power, but the fact that it only worked with Gali, and that it's sustained over distance, suggests there's something else happening here). It looks as though Gali has some abilities similar to what a wearer of a Mask of Psionics might be able to achieve, though possibly at a lower level or with much less precision. And then there's a character even Greg couldn't explain- Kapura, who moves very slowly but can get places almost instantly when he needs to. Vakama has apparently trained him in using this ability by getting him to hone his focus. Kopaka once said of his elemental powers that the power came from within- "the sword is but the focus". What if the same was true of mask powers- what if they were powered by the users' own energy, but the nature of the mask took the energy and focused and shaped it into that specific power? (Side note- Is there any evidence to suggest characters experience fatigue from using mask powers a lot?) What if some individuals had mutations or glitches in their AI that allowed them to access and shape that energy without a mask? I imagine it would be particularly rare in Matoran, who normally can't use masks anyway, but Vakama might have recognised a potential in Kapura that was similar to what he himself experienced. What do you think? How would you explain all these "bonus" powers?
  8. Hi, It's been a -very- long time since I've posted on BZPower, and I thought that some new artwork would be an excellent way to reintroduce myself here When I was a kid and I saw Legends of Metru Nui for the first time, I was really confused by how Lhikan's noble Hau changed into Jaller's great Hau, especially with both the great versions looking completely different in set-form. So, my eleven-year old self began making a story around this, because I wanted a good explanation, one that made sense in my head. And just like that, an idea was born. Now, eleven years later, I finally made it into a drawing... [uPDATE] link to the original fanfiction for those who are curious has been provided. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2940708/1/The-Turning-Point Here is a dramatic reading of the Final chapter of Turning Point by Tollian. It was one of the best fanfics I've read back in the day and figured it'd be fun to try and voice all of the metru (and a few surprises). Tell me what you think. https://soundcloud.com/faybos/turning-point-first-try IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, DO NOT FOLLOW THE LINK. 10. Ehi there! I finally finished building Nuju and Onewa, and I decided to start posting all of them. Here's the first one I built, Toa Vakama! I decided to make him more muscular than the Metru build, to make him look like a skilled warrior. I tried a new style for his torso, and I still don't know if it looks cool or weird. Let me know what you think about it. He's symmetrical, except for his lower arms, which are different because one has the attachments for the Kanoka Disc Launcher, while the other one has a built in blade. I also made him black and dark red to make him harder to spot in the shadows, making him a great stealth ranged killer even without using his Huna. His fighting style consists in becoming invisible to take aim and load his Kanoka Discs, then turning off his mask power and striking the enemies without alerting them. Hope you'll like it! I experimented a bit with this MOC. I made him a slim waist and long upper legs, while making his shoulders, his torso and his feets bigger. I like his proportions, but his articulations aren't that great and it's a bit hard to pose. Hope I'll find a way to fix it. Suggestions are always appreciated, tomorrow I'll post another Toa Metru, probably Matau or Wenua. You can find him on MOCPages too! Edit: Please use spoiler tags for storyline spoilers only. -Wind-
  11. Flickr Vakama, Old Master of Fire, is the spiritual leader of the village of Fire and the trusted adviser of the Protector of Fire. His knowledge of Masks, elemental powers, and Okoto lore make him the go-to counselor of the Toa, and he is always willing to lend an ear when Tahu needs to vent. But Vakama has a cheeky streak, and loves to play pranks and sneak up on unsuspecting villagers! Despite his vast knowledge, however, his memory doesn't seem to be what it used to be, and more than once he has given the Toa faulty advice, much to his dismay. Primary Color: Dark Red Element: Fire Favorite environment: His library Mask: Mask of Fire Powers: Fire Control, Stealth Primary weapon: Fire Staff of Rank Signature moves: Burning Thrust, Vanishing Cloak Key traits: Wise, proud, and mischievous As I wait for the new Bionicle sets, I thought I'd make a simple version of what one of the Turaga might look like in the Okoto-verse. Some folks who have the Protectors say the Arthron doesn't look too much like their Masks in person, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. ~B~
  12. This is a pilot story. I want to make longer story later, but I want to make short version first, to see your reactions and suggestions. Sorry for grammar mistakes, I write stories only in czech, which I am really good in, but I don't know, if english will end so well... Setup: My story extends from moment when Vakama have created Kanohi Vahi - Mask of time. It shows, what could happen then. Vakama's Time Wave of protodermis hit the ship. "So what is your plan?" screamed Whenua on Vakama "Plan? Who needs plan?" replied Vakama "I hope you know what are you doing!" said Nuju. Me too, thought Vakama. Ship finally reached Teridax's island. "Stay here!" said Vakama. "No way!" said Whenua immediately, "We go with you!" "Who will save matorans then?" argued Vakama. "Vakama is right," Nuju said, "we don't have much time!" Vakama jumped out of ship. He used his Huna to become invisible and ran to the center of island. There was a large column of shadow, caused by Makuta. When he came, he hid behind a large stone and saw Teridax's back. "I was waiting for you Vakama" he said with darkness in his voice, "but I wasn't sure if you come. Unfortunatly, you are the one who holds the great mask of time." Vakama looked on Vahi in his left hand. He loaded his kanoka launcher. "Do you think that one silly Kanoka disc can end this all?" laughted Teridax. He flew high and landed behind Vakama's back. "I know what do you think of right now Vakama," said Teridax, "Huna was always my favorite mask. Do you know why? Some thought that Huna will hide them from my sight. Huna however don't hide your shadow. And I am the master of shadows!" he started to laugh. Vakama took Vahi and put it on. Vakama ran to center of the island. He saw shadow of first Vakama behind stone. I wasn't sure if you come, he heard in distance. He hid behind another stone. When Teridax landed next to first Vakama, he took a little stone and throwed him in distance. "You brought your friends!" laughed Teridax, "how sweet!" Both Vakama's put on their Vahi's. When first Vakama jumped of ship, third Vakama activated Huna and quietly hopped on. He get back to Metru with other Toa, without being seen. He get to his workshop and created what he tried only few times, before he became mask maker - a sword. He used his elemental powers to make it more powerful and put it into lava. He made his first sword. Most powerful in whole Metru. He took his Vahi and put it on. Vakama used Huna and jumped on ship. "So what is your plan?" screamed Whenua. "Plan? Who needs plan?" replied first Vakama. When he was jumping of ship, he nearly hit third Vakama, but he avoided him. He ran to center of the island. He was running 50 metres behind second Vakama. When both Vakama's disappeared, Teridax was very confused. Even darkness column was weaker than before. He came to Teridax's back preparing his elemental sword, but suddenly he turned and shouted: "Here you are! You cannot escape me now!" Teridax grabed Vakama's shoulders with his red eyes turning into darkest black. Black fog came out of his mouth. Another Vakama has appeared right behind Teridax with sword prepared. He stabbed his sword right between Teridax's wings. "AAAAAH!!!" screamed Teridax. Magma was flowing from place where sword penetrated Teridax's skin. It came out even from his eyes. Dark column in center of island has disappeared. "Thank you," said Vakama, which nearly died. "You welcome," said Vakama, which killed Teridax, "I bet you know what you have to do now." Vakama nodded and put his Vahi on. The End I hope it was at least little bit mind freaking and you didn't get lost in this story, because at some point it started to be confusing even for myself! Share your thoughts and please, tell me if it was interesting for you or if it was boring. Note: I know it created paradox on end, because if Vakama was killed, how could he travel in time to save himself? I'll explain that in another story.
  13. After the last entry, I think it's about time we formed a Vakama Appreciation Klub (VAKama), to appreciate the coolness that is Turaga Vakama. So, without further explanation or exposition... or explosanation... We will also be campaigning to get him a role in BIONICLE 2015 if he does not already have a role. We will also be his support group when he gets anxious and yells "I'M NOT A REAL TOA/TURAGA". Now, who wants to join the VAKAMA APPRECIATION KLUB (VAKama)?
  14. Here is my interpretation of THIS SCENE in the Mask of Light movie. I love making my own interpretations of characters! I originally posted this on Deviantart and Tumblr but there's not a whole lot of Bionicle fans there, so I thought I would share it with you all! I tried to incorporate each character's original design, mask and colors. I always pictured Jaller as having dirty blonde hair. He keeps it short because it's a requirement in Ta-Koro's guard. His necklace has the fire emblem and his shoulder armor has the Unity, Duty, Destiny symbol. For Hahli, I wanted to incorporate the greenery of Ga-Koro into her outfit. Here she is wearing a traditional Ga-Matoran dress because she is proudly representing Ga-Koro in the Kohlii tournament in Ta-Koro. Her face paint and high cheekbones resemble her Kanohi mask, and the designs on her dress are similar to the ones on the gate at Ga-Koro's entrance. I always pictured her as petite and spunky with choppy hair, with dark skin like a Pacific Islander. I really like how Vakama's design turned out. He's not your typical wise old guru. I feel like he was always the Turaga who you could always immediately sense that he went on many adventures in life, hence the beard and stylish ponytail. And lastly, Takua, my favorite! I'll have to do more of him! I wanted to make him look young and adventurous, with crazy wild hair! This is also on Deviantart and Tumblr!
  15. I've been trying to come up with a reason for Kapura's uncanny ability to teleport for a while now. Lines such as "Even though I am slow, I may be faster than all the others", "I think I can feel it" and, of course, "I am practicing" seem to imply that Kapura is accessing and making use of some sort of unknown and ancient property of the universe. Somehow, being aware of this force allows Kapura to "be where [he] is not", or teleport. Kapura is also established as being an eccentric, and possibly very nervous character; he asks if Takua, a random stranger, is Makuta, and seems to be genuinely surprised to discover that he isn't. "If you do not know what is the Makuta, then I guess you are not it. That is good." He also suggests that Makuta is "everywhere", and gives us a rather creepy explanation of how Makuta never leaves the things that he destroys. He repeats that he is either practicing or that he must practice four times, and generally gives off the impression that spends pretty much all of his time in a dead forest running back and forth, "practicing". He also claims that Vakama is the one who tells him that he must practice in order to move faster. Vakama is another character who displays a lot of anxiety and fear, particularly in the Metru Nui story arc which takes place 1,000 years before we meet Kapura in the Charred Forest. He doubts himself and worries about his own skill as a Toa for a significant part of the 2004 storyline, even having an extremely vivid nightmare towards the end of that story arc, emphasizing his anxiety. What if the ability to teleport as Kapura does is hardwired into every Matoran by the Great Beings as a sort of safety feature; if a Matoran feels very threatened, nervous, or fearful, he or she will automatically teleport to a random place in order to stay safe. Matoran/Toa such as Vakama and Kapura would have spent a lot of their time not only under threat, but feeling anxious and fearful when not under threat, that they might have been teleporting around a lot. It's quite possible that countless years of neurosis as a Toa would have allowed Vakama to control the teleportation ability to the point where he could do so at will, to a specific destination. Then, he passed the knowledge of how to conrol and cultivate the ability down to his left hand, who was probably also inclined to fear and nervousness. How does that sound?

Getups are inspired by a crossover of steam punk fashion, Thor, and their respective professions. I did, however, alter the disc launcher because I wanted to not only make it possible for a human to hold properly, but also functional. Theoretically, it should now work like a crossbow. Sorry, die-hards, don't hurt me. Lhikan & Nokama
  17. Now sure where this belongs but here it goes. My family used to get Birthday Express magazines in the mail. Birthday Express is a company that sells party supplies and Halloween costumes (which is in Costume Express). My brother and I used to read the magazines and we got a few birthday party supplies from them, including BIONICLE and Knights' Kingdom (anyone remember that?). Well, I one time got these cake toppers from them a few years back, and I had them ever since. I was wondering if anyone else had them or if they knew about them. Maybe some photographic evidence will help. These cake toppers are surprisingly set accurate, with Vakama's head being the one exception. The set-like detail on these guys are astonishing, considering they aren't as tall as a standing roll of toilet paper. The only movable parts on them are on the arms, but action scenes are hard to pull off. I'm rather disappointed that the whole team or even the Visorak were not produced in such a manner. I would have tried to get Nokama, Nuju, Whenua, and Onewa cake toppers if they were ever made. They would add a little more play ability to Vakama and Matau, something these two really needed. So, anyway, here's that photographic evidence I promised earlier. Vakama and Matau, back-to-back Vakama Front View Matau Front View Sword Clash! If you want some more pictures, just say so! These guys aren't going anywhere! And before anyone might ask, I'm not really interested in selling these. They're probably the rarest BIONICLE-related objects I own and you can't buy these anywhere else, not even online (as far as I know). Despite their rarity, I doubt I can get much off of them anyway. So, how about you guys? Do you know of the elusive BIONICLE cake toppers only sold through one distributor? Birthday Express doesn't carry any BIONICLE- related supplies anymore (big shocker!), so there's a chance that these two cake toppers may be the only ones left in existence! Unless you or someone else happens to own a pair of them. What do you have to say?
  18. Roodaka plodded along helplessly next to Botar’s replacement. “Why, exactly, are we still being held here? Surely you have better things to do than cart a prisoner around-“ “Be quiet, fool” Botar’s replacement scowled. “This is my duty. Now get back in line!” A Dark Hunter, pleased at the delay, launched a Rhotuka at the replacement. The flames from the spinner were enough to burn a hole in his armor. Delighted, Roodaka used the opportunity to stun Botar’s replacement with a small amount of shadow energy, then leaped after the being, landing solid blows. A quick kick crashed him into a rock, knocking him out. Spinning, Roodaka snatched the spinner launcher, aiming it at Botar’s replacement’s throat. A second later, the Order member disappeared, reappearing behind Roodaka. Lifting the former Visorak viceroy into the air, the replacement formed energy bindings around her, giving her no way to aim her new launcher or to harm her opponent. Growling, he reached out his arm to seize the launcher – just as Roodaka used her power to disrupt the bindings just enough…the spinner struck his arm, and he was no longer Botar’s replacement. Glaring down at the new Keelerak next to her, Roodaka knelt, whispering into his audio receptors. “Come along with me, you fool, and I might see fit to reverse the mutation, or you can take your chances out there. I won’t look for you.” The reply, in the language of the Visorak, was one of pure hatred. Roodaka allowed herself a smile, and as she sauntered off toward the forest, an obedient Keelerak trotted along at her side. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vakama, Turaga of Fire, sat in a quiet place for contemplation and reflection – by the surf of the newborn ocean that had once been Aqua Magna. Propped against a small shade tree, the veteran Turaga began pondering through recent revelations…the Great Spirit, a giant robot…the Order agent’s takeover of Metru Nui and then Makuta’s efforts to control the city…the city that was the very center of power…the Great Spirit’s sacrifice and his words…Slowly, Vakama walked through years of ignorance and doubt, fitting piece after piece into the puzzle that brought him here. How could I know so much, he thought, and yet so little? Perhaps we are in yet another place that only knowledge will break us of. Ah…there is no hurry…we have plenty of time to discover our future here…Time, yes… The Mask of Time! It is in the hands of the Shadowed One. I suppose the matter should be brought before the Toa, although they have enough matters to deal with, and probably will not be able to help. Frustrated, he stalked away, slowly easing out of the emotion and facing his inability to act. It took a Makuta, a Toa, and an army of Rakishi to defeat the Shadowed One and Voporak before, and even if I was…stronger…it would not matter. “Turaga?” * * * Roodaka was in a bad mood. For someone accustomed to the mountains and factories of Xia, the high towers of captured cities, and expansive fortresses, this forested area was just a little too … unsettling. Cowering in said forest to avoid detection by her potential allies, however, was supremely frustrating. “This will do quite nicely for a fortress, don’t you think?” The Shadowed One nodded to Sentrakh. Sentrakh said nothing. He didn’t really mind this particular spot, seeing that it was on a tall hill. But the trees around this clearing would have to be removed – to many places for enemies to hide. Sentrakh wasn’t sure whether he would favor that fact or not. “That question” said the Shadowed One “is one I would like an answer to.” “Perhaps” said Sentrakh. “The trees.” “Soon, Sentrakh, we will have no enemies. They will all be frozen in time.” Sentrakh nodded cautiously. As he did so, he spotted a metallic bit of green that skittered away. Then he heard the sound of running feet behind him. He whirled, the two Dark Hunters churning off in the direction of whoever had been listening. * * * “Turaga?” “Yes?” It was a Matoran, somewhat fatigued. Standing next to him was a colossal figure, armor of white and gold, and disturbingly familiar… “Who are you?” “In the universe that I come from, they call me Makuta Teridax.” Vakama’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean?” “He’s from an alternate universe where the Makuta banished all the darkness from inside themselves…” Mazeka related the tale that had brought them here. “I suggest you return to the universe from which you came.” Vakama said. “The Toa will not welcome you here. I will not welcome him here until he can prove that he is one with the light.” “What would you have in mind?” Vakama smiled. If this was one of Makuta Teridax’s tricks, he was going to regret it. * * * Roodaka dodged tree trunks, vaulted brush, and swung from tree to tree (humiliating!) to evade pursuit. Nearby, a Keelerak crashed through the vegetation, making a racket even a deaf Turaga could hear. Somehow it was managing to avoid the flashing eyebeams and wheels of energy that filled the forest. The only problem was that it was now flying through the air, crashing toward the water… “Incoming!” * * * Roodaka plunged into the surf. She hated water, but the prospect of getting sheared in pieces by a pair of eyebeams was not as fixable. It took a couple of seconds for her to process the voice she’d heard as she raced past the figures on the surf. “Roodaka?” Vakama’s voice. She bolted back to the surface, startled. The Shadowed One launched his eyebeams at her, only to be stunned by a blast of light to the face. He staggered, blinded, but Sentrakh launched a Rhotuka spinner at the Makuta, which he barely managed to dodge. Mazeka leaped onto the Shadowed One’s arm, trying to dislodge his staff, but the veteran Dark Hunter merely tossed him away. His vision restored, the Shadowed One launched his eyebeams to destroy the Makuta’s armor, which were defected by a Rhotuka. Irritated, the Shadowed One moved in on the Makuta, leaving Sentrakh to face to face a Turaga, Roodaka, and the Keelerak – who, due to the exposure to the water had gone crazy and was shooting off spinners in every direction at a rapid rate. Sentrakh was forced to dodge or parry the spinners with his own, that and the ones Roodaka was carefully launching, in between her own acrobatics to avoid the paralyzing spinners. Meanwhile, to evade being permanently blinded by his new adversary, the Shadowed One used his staff to form barriers around himself, repairing it as fast as Teridax could smash it, which wasn’t too slow. “The Shadowed One, indeed.” observed the Makuta. “Can’t stand the light.” He blasted the interior of the structure with light, drowning the Shadowed One in it. Furious, he blindly smashed at his structure, shooting a Rhotuka of his own at the source. “You obviously know who I am. But only a fool could have placed you together – something that does not exist with a thing that should not exist. Next time, Toa of Light, find a better disguise.” Teridax scowled, blasting what remained of the structure with chain lightening. Sparks made shallow ridges in the Shadowed One’s armor, but the Dark Hunter leader was unmoved. He launched eyebeams at his adversary, blasting through a good amount of Teridax’s leg armor. Only a last minute application of his dodge powers saved his leg from being completely lost. “Whatever you are, you’ll have to do better than that!” “I can” said Teridax. Concentrating his power, Teridax slowed down the Shadowed One’s reflexes. Quickly, the Shadowed One did the only thing he could, slapping the Mask of Time over his face in a vain attempt to ward off defeat. Speeding up time inside him, the Shadowed One regained his speed, warding off the Makuta’s attempts to slow him down. However, use of the mask required his complete concentration… * * * Sentrakh backed away from the Keelerak. Suddenly Roodaka was standing on a very narrow spire. The slightest movement would send her toppling… The Keelerak collapsed. Sentrakh sighed. He prepared a Rhotuka spinner for launch. Roodaka leaped forward off of the spire, and crashed into Sentrakh, Rhotuka flying into the air. The spinner destroyed some nearby sand, creating a pit, which Sentrakh promptly slid into, carrying Roodaka with him. At the last second, Roodaka felt a strain on her arm, but whomever it was’ grip was slipping rapidly, and only swift reflexes enabled Roodaka to add her own grip to the stranger’s before losing it entirely. Sentrakh had a grip on her neck and was pulling her down. Desperate, she flailed about with her one free arm, but the only thing was one shade tree with weakened roots. The tree came crashing down, and Roodaka saw a firestaff come down on her neck. Then she saw nothing. * * * “Roodaka!” Someone was kicking her in the side. And saying her name very loudly, right in her ear. “Ow! Which side are you on?” Roodaka said. “Oh, Vakama, I’d thought I’d never see the day.” “To answer your question-” “Not important. Not at all.” * * * Makuta Teridax, unfoiled, switched powers, forming a vaccum around his opponent. The Shadowed One launched his eyebeams again, but this time Teridax was able to evade, the bolts only singing his armor. The Shadowed One charged in, trying to catch his enemy off balance…and was hit by a spinner. The paralyzing power was only enough to momentarily stun him, but it was enough for Teridax to trying slowing again… and for Roodaka to run past, snatching the Mask of Time from his claw. Teridax teleported away. Weakened and infuriated, the Shadowed One vented his anger with a burst from his eyebeams, destroying the tree which hid his talented bodyguard. Sentrakh climbed out of the pit, brushing sand off his armor. Neither said anything for a long time. The Shadowed One simply gestured for him to come along as they began the slow walk back to camp. * * * A small application of Teridax’s power revived Mazeka. The two watched as the sunset breathed color into the sky and the combatants deserted the battlefield. As they watched, a slender female form emerged from the forest in a clearing adjacent to the battlefield, a diminutive Visorak trotting alongside. A Turaga appeared, moving in. “Allies” mused Mazeka. “No” said the Makuta. “Even enemies with a common foe will be allies, but these are not friends, nor foes. Their history is complex, one best told on a cold, dark, night…” * * * Roodaka passed the Mask of Time to Vakama. “Catch” she snarled. “I’m sure you could find a use for this” Vakama said. “Are you sure?” “I don’t want any baggage.” Roodaka waved her hand. “And that’s just the thing, Vakama. I can always count on you.” They walked in silence for a bit. “You don’t have to be weak anymore, Turaga.” Roodaka gestured to her spinner launcher. “I am not weak. I am as I should be, and I still have my duty.” “Of course, Vakama. You have the Mask of Time. Nothing is impossible now.”
  19. So... one thing that always bothered me, for the longest time... Vakama was a mask maker. Why did the Toa Metru have so much trouble learning about their masks? I suppose there is always the "I know what the powers are but how the heck do I use them?" excuse, but he could at least have told the other Toa what their masks did! And if he really did know what his power was, just not how to use it, how could he instantly use the Vahi, a mask who's exact use wasn't exactly known? Seems a bit silly that the one Toa who used to make masks couldn't figure out how to use a common mask, yet without trouble used a one-of-a-kind mask that had never been used before.
  20. Obviously If you watched web of shadows you could see that Roodaka has love interests. Write your opinions here...
  21. A drawing I did for fun of Vakama after an incomplete Hordika mutation. Took me like 3-4 hours, using a pencil. Link to drawing(too big) here. I got inspired after re-watching the Hordika commercials when Vakama mutates in the cocoon.
  22. So, you know how LEGO came out with that Role-Playing Hordika Sword-thing? Well, I got it, and it SUCKED! So, now that I'm older, and know how to use my money for "wiser" purposes. I built a LEGO version of the fire-sword-thing. My camera is currently lost, so I will upload pictures when I find it. But here are the dimensions: Height (from base to tip of flame): 1 foot, 3 and a half inches.Width: about 4 inchesWeight: about 2 pounds photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/93719765@N05/page2/photo: hereThe BBC Empress requests that all images be 100 kB or smaller. 23. <p>Well in the books about metru Nui, the mask forgersMake it so carefully a hairline crack shouldn't show!Because otherwise the power can't flow through it,But doesn't that mean if you get a crack or a scratch from battle wouldn't it be the same bad?hmmm I vaugly remember the book saying something along the lines of "the slightest flaw would render the mask powerless" which makes me think if it only applies to the mask making Process or just in general.I just got another idea thanks to Makuta matatawhen the vahi had a crack in it on the seafloor the power was flowing out changing the time around it,but not only did the vahi do it but also the ignika!that got me thinking is that what happens when making a mask and you accidentally create a dimple?would a miru with a gouge just suddenly float up to space?but even more so are the masks in the protodermis reclamation yards, do they leak power before they hit the furnace?
  24. Sorry if these have already been asked before. In the scene from LoMN, was Teridax trying to grab the Mask of Time from Vakama or was he trying to absorb Vakama into himself? If he was trying to grab the Mask, would the Hand have shattered it like the rocks he pulled in later? If he had actually absorbed the Mask (on Vakama or without), would that count as destroying it (thus destroying all of time) or would it give Makuta Voporak-like powers? And considering the fact that Teridax wanted the mask for his own use, was using that Shadow Hand power there a smart move? (The power, according to BS01, has an automatic recoil, thus causing absorption or smashing.) Did Lhikan inadvertently save all of reality here?
  25. It’s all finished, Vakama thought, looking out from his window at the glory that was New Atero. The Matoran had not had peace for this long since the days when they still lived cluelessly and peacefully inside the body of the Great Spirit Mata Nui--perhaps in their entire history. It took a while to get the Original Thousand* from Mata Nui used to living among other species, but after a few years they warmed up to it; there were no real conflicts aside from a few street fights; there was a stable government that he was glad not to be a part of. He had announced his decision not to be part of the Council with none of the backlash he expected, as three of the other Turaga felt the exact same way as he did; the remaining two, Nokama and Onewa, were now sitting high and comfortable in the Coliseum above New Atero, discussing the acquisition of land with a bunch of disgruntled Srakan and Glatorian diplomats. Vakama’s mind turned to the other Turaga. He hadn’t seen Nuju in ages; Whenua and Matau were retired, as he was, and living in other cities. He had heard rumors that some of the others were still meeting. He didn’t really care; though he was once the leader, he was now the excluded one, and the others had used this peacetime to vent some of their personal problems upon him. The Three Virtues were considered by all--including, increasingly, Vakama himself--an old myth. Nobody really needed to unite for any reason; there wasn’t any Great Spirit to take care of anymore; and there hadn’t been any Toa for three thousand years, so most people assumed Destiny in its ultimate form had been achieved. “Not an unfair assumption,” Vakama said to himself, shrugging as he thought of his last argument with Nokama.A knock came on the door. Vakama was surprised. He picked up his staff and hobbled to the door. It was a Toa; Vakama recognized him as Kooms, the leader of the local Toa team. Why would a Toa want business with me? Vakama wondered. He could only think of two reasons: that he was under arrest or that he was being summoned to the Coliseum. He wasn’t sure which one sounded worse.“Walk with me,” Kooms said. “Don’t worry, you’re not under arrest.”Coliseum then, Vakama thought to himself. He began to brace himself for the inevitable shots the other Turaga would take at him. Thankfully, Kooms led him away from the Coliseum, down the street towards the chute station.“There’s going to be another Time Slip,” Kooms stated casually, not even looking at Vakama. “A Time Slip?” Vakama inquired.“Do you remember on Metru Nui when everyone woke up and couldn’t remember a thing?”“Sounds like the morning after every Naming Day.""No, this is serious. Six months of history disappeared. You certain you don't remember it?""No.""Well, it happened, and it's about to happen again."“How do you know?”“Mask of Balance. Whenever something’s off in space or time, I’m the first to know about it. I felt it about three days ago.”“Why are you telling me, then? And where are you taking me?”“We’re going to the Bronze District. I’ll explain everything once we get there.”The two arrived at the chute station and hopped on the express chute south towards the Bronze District. Vakama had not been to the Bronze District in at least several years that he could remember; it was one of New Atero’s poorest neighborhoods, set on the periphery of the city, and was mostly home to Skakdi and Telkerrians who had settled in New Atero after the Great Exodus out of the Matoran Universe. To his memory, Vakama had never seen a Skakdi until his first time in that particular district; he had heard that they were violent and unreasonable, and to be safe, he never interacted with them. They disembarked from the chute. The Bronze District wasn’t half as bad as Vakama remembered. Rather than small iron shacks, there were rows of brightly-painted houses; there were a few Skakdi on the street but mostly Le-Matoran and Ga-Matoran. The Skakdi moved in tight-knit groups; the Matoran were aloof and did not seem to interact much with each other. Vakama could hear music; there appeared to be some sort of small street fair a few blocks ahead.“Is that where we’re going?” Vakama inquired.“Actually it’s this left.”Kooms led Vakama into a small, deserted alley between two of the painted houses. It was empty except for a few trash cans; a small catlike Rahi darted out from behind one and climbed a fence into someone’s yard.“This is our spot.”Kooms gestured to an inconspicuous pink-and-white house. He knocked on the door, very loudly. As soon as the door creaked open in response, Vakama was greeted by a blast of loud music and the smell of burning erriax flowers; he registered the Matoran at the door a few seconds afterwards. It was Hafu.“Hey, Vakama,” Hafu muttered; he carried a piece of paper in his hand, which he idly scanned. Turning to Kooms, he inquired, “Are you here for the meeting?”“Yes.”“You guys just made it in time. Come in.”Hafu’s house was filled with long, elaborate strands of Kiratan thread; countless small sculptures lay around, some mounted on furniture and windowsills, others haphazardly placed on tables. A rope hung curiously from the ceiling and lay coiled across the floor. The smell of incense and erriax flowers was overpowering. It was the house of an artist, albeit either a very lazy one or one so devoted to his craft that everything else was neglected. Another Matoran was sprawled on one of the couches, seemingly asleep, but there didn’t seem to be anyone else there.“I’d like to see the new machine you’ve been telling me about,” Kooms said to Hafu.“Well I’m about to show you,” the sculptor said with a half-smile. He walked over to one of the sculptures, a huge Mata Nui head, and rotated it; at first Vakama thought he was adjusting its position, but there was a click, and a massive trapdoor fell open beneath the rope. The rest of the rope unraveled and dangled down.“A Hafu original,” Hafu said.“You’ll have to explain to me how that works at some point,” Kooms said.“It’s simple. The statue’s attached to a lever, when I turned it the support beam fell. Are we ready to head down?” Hafu suddenly exclaimed to the room.“If we’re all here,” Kooms answered.Upon peering into the pit, Vakama was surprised at its shallowness; it was only about six feet deep, enough for a Matoran to stand in but not most other entities. Another small door was set into the wall. The Toa climbed down effortlessly, while Hafu and Vakama had to rely on the rope. Hafu came down first and took Vakama’s staff as the Turaga slid down, burning his hands from the friction. Vakama and Kooms were equally shocked to see what lay behind the door. Behind it was a small flight of steps that descended to the floor of a vast space, at least the size of the main square of Ta-Koro back on Metru Nui, though with a ceiling not much higher than that of Hafu’s house. It looked to be an old reservoir or storage room, most likely of Agori origin; clusters lightstones set into the floor every twenty feet or so illuminated the place with a harsh glow undercut by spaces of darkness. “What is this place?” Kooms asked.“It’s an old Agori reservoir. Must have dried up millenia ago. I put in lightstones and built the trapdoor. Nobody except me and my friends know about it. And now you do.”They walked through the vast space; there was still a slight smell of erriax flowers. As they moved deeper, Vakama became aware of the voices of people, then of a large group of at least twenty; most of them appeared to be Toa, but there were also several Matoran. The shapes became clearer. Takanuva was there, along with Jaller, Hahli, Kongu, Hewkii, Nuparu, Tahu, Gali, and Kopaka; Vakama wondered for a second why the others were not there before he remembered that Pohatu and Lewa had been on a mission for several months and that Onua was now a Turaga serving on the council of a distant city. Vakama recognized all the Matoran, for they were part of the Original Thousand who had come with the Toa Metru from the Old City to the island of Mata Nui. Kapura, the master of traveling great distances by walking very slowly, was there; so were Macku, Taipu, Midak, Tamaru, the hermit Kantai, and the Chronicler Kopeke. There were also three Toa Vakama did not recognize: a tall Toa of Air, an even taller Toa of Water, and what Vakama was pretty certain was a Toa of Sonics. Vakama was dismayed to see Whenua, Matau, and Nuju, but thankfully Nokama and Onewa were not present. Kooms addressed the crowd.“By being here you are sworn to secrecy. It doesn’t matter, because you will soon forget everything you learned here. When, I cannot say. If you reveal anything you have learned here to anyone else, you are endangering Matoran society and may potentially cause rioting and widespread panic.“Most of what I have already told you about the Time Slip is a lie. The Time Slip is an initiative by the group I represent, the Order of Mata Nui; it is being engineered specifically to erase the period between the first Great Cataclysm and the second, the one that occurred so recently when the body of Mata Nui crashed here and we left it to inhabit this new world we call Spherus Magna. This is so that the nature of the Great Spirit is kept secret from the world. The history of the Matoran Universe during that time is safe with us; however, none of you were in the Matoran Universe at the time. You were living on what you called the island of Mata Nui. Thus, your memories of this time will be lost if they are not preserved.“We have gathered every single scrap ever written about the island of Mata Nui in this room, accounts from the two Chroniclers Takua and Hahli. They stand before you as Toa, soon to have no memory of how they became such. But we need more. This is why we have called each of you here to provide as many of your memories of living on that island as possible. Unless you choose to leave, in which case you will forget every memory you ever had of Mata Nui with no hope of retrieving them, each of you will be given one day to recount as much as you choose. Tell stories; do not merely rattle off facts. We must know through your experiences, not the trivia you have acquired. These records will be kept by the Order, and if you come to us and ask, you may view them. I willl make sure you do not forget that piece of information. However, your memories will still be erased. You will not be spared by the Time Slip. This is only for safety. You will be as clueless as the rest of us. “And I would like to apologize deeply, to every single one of you, and assure you that this will never happen again. Not if we make sure it never needs to. Thank you.”The members of the crowd had been silently staring at each other in shock for a while, and they immediately burst into uproar upon receiving this news. Vakama had stood there silently, soaking up Kooms’ words; he had suspected this even before the Toa had begun speaking. As soon as he had seen the Toa of Sonics, and remembered where he had seen that face before so many years ago, he had realized the full truth.Review topic (and information on footnotes): http://www.bzpower.c...?showtopic=7436
