  1. Anyone remember back in 2005-2006 when Hasbro made these little toys on stands that click that can be used in a battle game called Attacktix? Those were my favorite toys back in the day, one reason why I decided to start the topic. Basically, let me give you a basic brief summary of its history here. In 2005, the toy designers of Hasbro wanted to make a new game that didn't require boards or dice. After much brainstorming, they settled on Attacktix. For the rest of the year, they only did Star Wars, but expanded over to Transformers in 2006. With those two years, the game was pretty popular. They even jumped over to Marvel Comics, which made up their last line and they ended in 2006. You'll find more info on Wikipedia (I linked to its page on there.) Now for my Attacktix experience. Back in that time, I think I already had my first BIONICLE, Rahaga Bomonga. Whenever I had enough money to buy some decent toy, I would go to K-Mart and shop for a random toy. Back then, I did like Star Wars like any 7-year-old boy would, so I entered the Star Wars aisle and came across this new non-LEGO toy called Attacktix. It had some interesting looking figures and even promised a secret figure and a CD. Out of sheer curiosity, I bought it and took it into my room to analyze this strange new find. The result was a natural obsession. It quickly became my favorite toy and just had to buy more. The CD (which disappeared years ago) even taught me how to play the game. I believe I bought at least another Star Wars pack before buying a Transformers one. But shortly after that, Attacktix abruptly disappeared off of K-Mart's shelves. My interest for the game began to wind down until my teenage neighbor decided he was too old for the Attacktix figures he and his older brother had, so his mother handed them off to me (she gave me two giant tubs of LEGOs at another time). Something told me that her son like Attacktix more than I did, because his collection was more than twice as big as mine. The figures were new to me, and I even received two big ones. My love for the figures went on for about another year before I just moved on. But in seventh grade, a How-To project came up. How-Tos were presentations made by students in order to teach their peers how to do anything as long as it's legal. I looked back at my collection of Attacktix figures and taught my classmates how to play and even allowed the first kid who volunteered to come up in front of the class and challenge me to a game of Attacktix. And sure enough, the class jerk challenged me, as I have predicted days before. He must have had fun, because he made me skip snack break just to play another game. We even went back to class after eating lunch and played another game. We were friendly ever since. But I never played another game until I was in ninth grade. My bro and I went to my bro's teacher's house while she, her husband, and my parents went out for dinner and left us with the teacher's kid who was a year or two older than my 10-year-old bro. He loved Star Wars a whole lot, so I brought my Attacktix collection with me. We played a game and our friend enjoyed it (mostly because he won) and I promised him we would play another game in the future. But I haven't touched those toys after that night. You can discuss the game here. Did you ever play it? Have you ever owned at least 1 Attacktix figure? What figures were in your collection? How did you come across Attacktix? Do you miss it? Any fun memories?
  2. I just found some leaked information on Bungie's Project Destiny game from Wired, which lead me to a nice video on IGN, and the information was confirmed by Bungie to be accurate as well. Here are the details.Plot (Paraphrased quote)It is 700 years into the future on the last city on Earth in a solar system littered with the remains of man's golden age. A massive alien ship hangs overhead like a second moon, no one knows where it came from or why it's here, only that it's "our protector". Meanwhile, another alien race comes from "the edges of the universe" to come and take earth and the last city. "We are young knights, tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters, and eventually overcome it." The massive alien ship is referred to as "The Traveler".Bungie is making the game to be fun and accessible to all, "aiming to make the universe as deep, tangible, and relateable as that of the Star Wars franchise". Jason Jones (Bungie's Co-Founder) said: "Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure."GameplayDescribed as "social at it's core, offering a world to explore with friends both old and new." Though we are still not 100% certain if the game is an MMO (as statement Bungie later called "a joke").Release InformationAlong with a Destiny Logo, there were also Xbox 360 and PS3 Icons, there is also a url for "Destiny.com" which is currently password protected.Leaked Court documents talked about 4 installments in the Destiny series, with the released dates planned to be:Fall 2013201520172019In 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020, DLC known now as "Comet" are said to be planned. The contract also said that the first game would be released on Xbox 360 and it's successor (the contract calls it the Xbox 720), releases on PS3, PS4, and PC are said to be planned in the years following.Concept Art.Destiny LogoThe Traveler and the CityThe New MonstersThe KnightsAn Derelict BuildingThe Traveler In OrbitAnother Shot Of The Traveler In OrbitMore Derelict BuildingsA Massive WallKnights In A Force-Field Or SortsAnother Knight Giving CommandsA Space FleetSome Knights Ambushing The New Monsters.Other Bungie NewsBungie's contract also mentioned that it is allowed to put 5% of their workforce towards another Marathon game, I certainly find that idea exciting as a fan of that series.
  3. It's a bit dated, but I notice that there isn't a topic to talk about the Hero Factory Breakout Game, and the update we got for the fall wave slipped under the proverbial radar. So, have any of you all played the Hero Factory Breakout game since the update in August? Did you notice any technical improvements in the Game itself? Any changes that annoyed you? And what did you think of the new levels that were added?
  4. Yes, everyone, a text game version of Star Wars: Sybre Edition (an upcoming Bionicle-related movie soon to be made by yours truly) has arrived! Prepare for extreme awesomeness! Read on to find out the rules that force you down. Staff: This is Bionicle-related. I promise. It's just Bionicle in a Star Wars movie. RulesFirst of all, unrelated text must be labeled OOC. Related text must be labeled IC.BattlingSurprise! This is a fighting game. If you've seen ANY Star Wars movies, you'd know what to expect. The Jedi and Sith use lightsabers and the Force to dismember each other. The rest of the fighters are normally made up of gun-type and other weaponed people. Remember, you can't suddenly gain ANY of these weapons automatically. However, you can buy lightsabers and better guns in the shop (will be explained soon). Now, killing and slashing limbs and other stuff off of people is strictly forbidden. However, wounding is possible. Don't worry, if you have a first-aid kit (one is provided upon joining the game and you can buy more using credits, which will be explained later), you can heal yourself. Melee is also allowed, but I wouldn't suggest it against lightsabers. And troopers along with other non-Jedi/Sith can't use the Force. And absolutely NO godmodding! The Jedi Order frowns upon that. And no controlling other players' characters.RoundsThis adds zest to the battles. Each round lasts 3 days and will be judged by me afterwards. And, please, follow the rules of the rounds. Rules and round types are provided in a sec.WeaponsWhat's a Star Wars or Bionicle game without epic weapons? You start with ONE weapon and can buy more in the shop with credits. I'm just gonna level with you; lightsabers almost always beat guns. Jedis have been shot before. However, better guns can beat lightsabers a little more easily. However, you can't destroy weapons.ShoppingShopping is how you get more stuff around here. You can buy custom-colored weapons, bombs, armies, and even spaceships (which are only used in space locations)! The main currency the shop accepts is credits, which are rewarded to you for your performance in the rounds. You can only shop in between rounds. So that gives you about 2 days to shop. Once the new round starts, there's no turning back. If you buy something, post what you bought and how many credits you spent. Please follow this rule as it applies to the private records. The actual shop is displayed after some reading. Underlined stuff is very special.ArmiesYes, you can buy your own different armies to crush foes with. If another player has an underlined weapon, they can easily destroy your armies, but not all at once. You can only use one army per round.RoundsRounds are just simply battles with certain rules you must follow. They can happen anywhere in the Star Wars universe with many obstacles which mix the rounds up a bit. The first round will start after a minimum of six players have joined.Free-for-AllYou read it right! There are no teammates to hold you back, but minor alliances with two members are allowed. This is the only round where you can use armies.Team BattleIt's easy. I split you into two teams and you just try to beat each other.Boss BattleThis is a round type where you can be killed. By the selected boss, anyway. Bosses are extremely hard to beat and require teamwork to beat.Space BattleNo ground weapons apply. Just your spaceship! However, If you don't own a spaceship, I'll hook you up with a free starfighter. This is the only round where you can use spaceships, unless there's a space boss battle. There is a team version, also. Basically a space version of the team battle.Darth ZeltrothIn the movie, Darth Zeltroth was a legendary figure who was a very powerful Sith. He almost defeated the Republic in a great war, but was finally destroyed when he was surrounded by ships who open-fired on his starfighter in a space battle. Prior to his death, he swore revenge on the Jedi Order by destroying it in a whole new generation. He returned as a young Jedi named Sybre, the Chosen One. When Sybre became the new Zeltroth, he had newer, better armor. Fueled by anger, his main emotion, Zeltroth inherited his ancestor's legacy. So what role does he play in the game? Thanks for asking! A new Jedi Master named Junji Un-Zanoki chose them to be his apprentices sometime after their training. Together, they faced Darth Vlaud with the assisstance of Junji's master Rhy Von Flyn. As they four battled the deadly Sith, he knocked out Sybre and Reggie. Rhy Von then kicked his skills up a notch and fought for real, but was killed by Vlaud. Rhy's killer then turned toward Junji's fledgling apprentices to kill them himself, but Zanoki snuck up on Vlaud and cut him in half, finishing the job by throwing him into a pit. Sybre and his brother later became Padawans near the time when the clone troopers were introduced. During the following Clone Wars, Sybre's hand was cut off by Count Eoku. Respite

It was a nice spring day in the park. The flowers were beginning their annual bloom, making the field burst with colorful swaths of bloom. Clusters of red and yellows clashed against each other in a peaceful battle amid the greens, their pitched fights interrupted only by the hovering of a hummingbird or the buzz of a bee. Birds chirped noisily in the trees, some plucking crumbs tossed by pedestrians. The setting was peaceful, and the lord seated on a bench enjoyed this scene, absorbing the environment with glee. He fumbled for his pocketwatch and glanced at the time before promptly putting it away. His company was almost late. Still at peace with his surroundings, however, he scarcely dropped a beat in anxiety, not even hitting his cane in worry of his potentially belated friend. He looked at the passerby, some well dressed businessmen enjoying a bit of free time from their work and a smattering of youthful joggers bouncing down the trails, but none of them matching the descriptions of his ally. He payed closer attention to the businessmen, however, and his heart skipped a beat as they lingered in front of him. Suddenly, one of the suited men wheeled around and produced a pistol and nonchalantly fired the weapon at the seated lord. The elder man fell back with the bench, which as it happened was not bolted to the ground. The powerful cartridge pounded him with such force that the entire bench dumped him on his back. But there was no blood, no sign of wound; the lord flopped on his back, groaning, an then got up, to the shock of the would-be assassins. He stood there for a second to give the men a hateful glare before whipping a Skorpion from under his coat and spraying the men with bullets. The two men quickly fell, not protected like their target. But as the lord vanquished the men, he could understand why his friend had not arrived. Seizing the opportunity, he bolted, and after him the dirt flared and trees splintered. The park tourists fled or ducked away from the violence that brewed. The lord came across another killer and flung his cane at him, and as the shaft of the cudgel met the man’s chest, the pointy end of the sword that was suddenly exposed pierced his jugular, emptying his fortitude with haste. The lord dropped another killer who hid too casually behind a tree before the telltale click of an empty magazine sounded and he had to duck himself behind a cement barrier to reload. He looked out before him and admired the contrast between the massacre and the beauty of the park, but he knew violence was the only answer now. With his friend dead, there would be no respite in the war brewing in the lord’s home country. There would be no peace. He primed the chamber of the weapon and emerged from his hiding place, ready to bring his wrath down on the insurgents.
  7. Topic to discuss the trading card game, Magic: The Gathering.I was going to type up a long, drawn-out post, then I took an arrow to the knee realised it wasn't neccesarry.

    Trackmania

Anyone here on BZP play the TrackMania games? I have TrackMania Nations Forever and TrackMania 2: Canyon. Both are very fun. I mentioned back when the forums came back that I needed to clean up this blog, TrackMania was the reason I didn't. I've probably put around 20 hours into TrackMania 2, and exactly 73 hours into TrackMania Nations. Boy, I'm getting really good at spelling TrackMania.
  9. Right, my brother got the new Rocka today and I think he's epic. But, flicking through the instructions I found a surprise: in the advert for the core code gamey points thingamajig, there were pictures of a HF game, so similar to Breakout, yet so different.EDIT: Picture now! This game looked interesting. It had pictures of Stormer 2.0 battling minions in a volcano, a green factory and a winter wonderland. The enemies all looked like something I've seen in a leaked picture of the summer I will not name, and there was a powerup bar at the bottom.Intriguing.I think this is a prototype for a second Breakout game, where you can unlock different variations of Heroes (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, Breakout etc.)Reasons it might be what I just said: [*]Black Phantom escapes in the current Breakout game and you don't catch him[*]Breakout is expected to continue through summer[*]It's on the back of Rocka's bag and in the instructions, keep in mind this is a month after the current game was releasedLet's be hoping these aren't prototypes for the current game. What do you think?
  10. BIONICLE SMASH -DOWNLOAD ON MY WEBSITE- Well, I was at my friend's house this afternoon and we both LOVE bionicle, so we went to see if BZP was back up. I have been waiting for ages, because I never wanted to do a final release of Bionicle Smash with it out of order. I am very happy now.For new guys (although I don't think there will be any), Bionicle Smash is a project I started in 2010 to celebrate 10 years of Bionicle. When I found out it was the last year of bionicle as well, I decided to make it special and have EVERY SINGLE Bionicle set EVER. I have nearly reached that goal, I think I have only left out Gudunka (I can't find a sprite) and some of the glatorian vehicle guys (because I don't like them). But to make up I have lots of MNOLG characters and characters like Dark709 and Gavla. It is a fighting style game like Super Smash Bros. It's 2.5D.Features: [*]over 200 characters[*]over 25 stages[*]play 1 player against smart AI[*]play 2 players with your friends[*]2.5D[*]Familiar areas and characters[*]-NEW- Powerups[*]-NEW- Escape a match without escaping the game with <esc>[*]WARNING: BIG FILE SIZE DUE TO MASSIVE CHARACTER ROSTERSome of the music tracks are missing for some reason, this is not my fault. I don't really want to go back and put them all in again because I already have 2 other projects I'm working on at the moment.Talking about other projects, I've developed a heap of games not related to Bionicle in the past... year. My main game was Drawing Galaxy. It has 100 levels of drawing planets to get to the goal. I also have made the first publicly released GameMaker Facebook game! It only took 3 hours including all the uploading, but it is still and achievement. Here is my game website (which now has free online games):-LINK-It has just about all of my published work on it.My friend and I are thinking of making a MNOLG3, but it may be a while...Anyway, I hope you enjoy the FINAL build of Bionicle Smash...EDIT: Wow, the forums have been up for THAT LONG! I guess I never went to the forums from inside BZP (google gives the old site). Oh well...
  11. Topic for Battlefield, the nearly ten year-old series of combined arms shooter games from the Swedish developer DICE.Now to lay out a few rules: - I'm against Call of Duty just as much as the next Battlefield fanboy, but I don't want anything regarding the silly debate on which is better here. None. At all. - On a similar note, no console warring here either. Though when it comes to Battlefield, I can't stress enough how much you're missing out on by not playing on PC (nondisputable).- If you're just going to say negative things about what you heard of or experienced during the beta, we don't wan to hear it. Bye.NOW I'M DONE.I've played every Battlefield game released on PC, and I loved the beta they released a couple weeks ago (despite its flaws). The Caspian Border Map was especially nice. Now discuss.
  12. I recently started playing MNOLG2 again, and have been having a great deal of trouble beating the other teams, probably due to the fact that I don't know what each stat does. I know stamina lets you run for longer, that speed makes you run faster, that accuracy increases your chances of shooting straight and that strength makes you shoot the ball faster, but what do Willpower and Strategy do?
  13. This is the BZP clan of Terraria. IP: 127.0.0.1:7777World Name: BZP WorldServer Password: BzpterrariaSo yeah, this topic is where all of us BZP goers can talk about Terraria, and if we actually want to play then go to the BZP World and hang out and make slime soup!Rule Time!!!!1.No profanity, we want to keep it clean.2.No spam, because that is kinda dumb.3.When setting up play times, if you happen to no-show, please notify the person who you are playing with before hand you won't make it, if it's a group it doesn't really matter though.4. And lastly, have fun! Now, you can set up play times here with people on your own server, or the server listed above with me. Nothing has been done yet on the world so all of us can start from scratch, and no I won't play it solo and crash all your houses....maybe... But anyways, you can also talk just anything about Terraria also, like help on bosses or just tips or just discussing how amazing it is. So have at it.(One more thing, we will have a website up as soon as we can to better post events and discuss there as well as here.)
  14. So, anyone remember Rock Raiders? I only ever got one set ( the small one that contained most ofthe characters) and the computer game. I recently re-installed and started playing the game and wasreminded how fun that game was.So, anyway, discuss the Lego theme Rock Raiders here.
  15. Well here we are again. We have MoCists like Felix, Brickeens, and Oblivion who have improved their MoCing skills ten fold during the downtime. And then there's me. I admit that I haven't been working on MoCs a lot during the time the forums spent offline. The community has been my drive for making better MoCs and I didn't have them to help me along. Add that to the fact that my interest in Lego Bricks has been failing since Bionicle's end and needless to say my skills have not improved all that much. But... I did do some work and today I'll post some of it for you guys. Meet GLaDOS from Portal 2! >1<>2<>3<>4<Comparison Pic Thanks for taking a look at this!
  16. Everyone likes puzzles, am I right? And everyone likes being classy, am I right? It thus follows that everyone likes the Professor Layton games. If you aren't familiar with it, Professor Layton is a series of games for the Nintendo DS focused around solving brainteasers and other puzzles while investigating some greater mystery as the good professor (you can tell he's classy, he's got a top hat), all wrapped up in some great art and music. Personally I've loved these games since the first one (Professor Layton and the Curious Village) came out in 2007, but the newest game, Professor Layton and the Last Specter, which just came out yesterday, is a prequel, so if it sounds like something you'd like it's a good starting point. Any other BZPers fans of the series?
  17. Because this amazing competitive RTS and e-sport deserves a topic. Feel free to discuss anything - Brood War, SC2, strategy, upcoming expansions and new units, the pro scene, etc.
  18. So, after reading DLC containing pretty much all of the first Left 4 Dead is coming out for the second one soon, I was thinking of picking up a copy of Left 4 Dead 2 for halloween. Can I get some first-hand opinions?
  19. And I return. So much for trying to establish a regular writing schedule. XD I've been putting it off for weeks. However, something has recently happened that inspired me to post. The following entry has absolutely nothing to do with Bionicle. It entirely has to do with the upcoming Mass Effect 2. I did warn you that I was a fanboy. So. Like the true fanboy that I am, I have been following Mass Effect 2 info as it comes out. I have assimilated all the information that is available, and even managed to formulate a tentative theory as to the nature of the story in the second game. For those of you unfamiliar or who simply haven't been following as obsessively as I have, I'll recap the info that I am currently aware of. If I'm missing anything or got something wrong, feel free to tell me. The setup of Mass Effect 2: Shepard is dead. At first we thought that it was just something BioWare came up with to rile up the fans; later on, they revealed that although Shepard isn't dead in the game, he could quite possibly die in one outcome of the game. And no, they don't mean a oh-look-you-can-see-his-body-but-he's-really-in-a-coma or oh-my-god-he-fell-off-a-cliff-no-one-could-possibly-survive-that. No, they mean dead. Deceased. Flatlined. No more. This is an ex=Shepard. The third game will still be played in this instance, but you will not play as Shepard. However, it goes beyond that as well. Apparently, at the beginning of the game Shepard is involved in an incident. The nature of the incident is unknown, and the violence of the incident apparently depends on your actions; one outcome has you looking completely normal, no scarring or damage apparent in most of the gameplay we've seen. It also goes to the other side of the violence scale, where the aftermath of this mysterious incident leaves you looking like this. Either way, everyone thinks you're dead. Your closest companions believe you to be deceased; at least, most of them. There's a comic in which Liara, refusing to believe you dead, goes to the Terminus Systems, the black underground of the galaxy, to look for Shepard. In any case, it appears that the first words out of the mouths of many people you meet will be, "Shepard! But you're dead!" I should say that most people think you're dead. One particular group of people know that you're alive and kicking, or are perhaps even responsible for your continued breathing privileges: Cerberus. Yes, Cerberus. The former human military black-ops group. The black-ops group that went rogue and split off from the military as a whole. That performed a large number of illegal and definitely immoral experiments on aliens and humans alike, even fellow soldiers. That killed a high-level admiral, amongst others, to keep their secrets safe. The organization that you have killed a very, very, very large number of its operatives in the course of your optional investigations. The organization you at least partially exposed, in the process bringing a large number of their vital, very expensive project to a grinding, screeching halt. That Cerberus. Yeah. However, they do not greet you with a pistol to the forehead. Or by using you as target practice for their new anti-vehicle acid cannon, which wouldn't be an unreasonable response giving the amount of hurt you potentially caused them in the first game. No, they decide to give you a mission instead. Considering this is openly described as a suicide mission from which you have little to no chance of returning from, I get the impression that they aren't feeling very kindly towards you despite saving you/pulling you out of the wreckage/engineering the incident in the first place/randomly bumping into you at the Sniping Addicts Anonymous meeting. However, you really get the feeling that they're trying. So, you accept this mission. This is something of a given. Cerberus fills you in: all over the galaxy, humans are going missing. These aren't cases of random men and women walking into dark alleys that they don't walk back out of. No, entire colonies, hundreds upon thousands of human from remote locations and settling attempts across the galaxy are simply vanishing, one by one. There is no evidence for who or what is behind this. They need someone to look into these disappearances, and your deadness makes you a prime candidate. With it, you can go through channels that you would never have access to otherwise; various enemies who would otherwise get in your way are unaware of your presence, and you can move with freedom through the underworld that you must investigate. As legendary as you are, you cannot do this alone; to this end, they allow you to gather at least some of your old companions, and give you a list of some of the most powerful (and, in more than a few cases, psychotic) characters in the galaxy to aid you in your task. I'll do a separate entry on them. View with discomfort the fact that, although these people are very good, and will undoubtedly aid tremendously in your quest, they are also by and large people who the galaxy will be much, much better off without. Erk. So you are given what information Cerebus possesses (or at least what they feel like telling you) and you bundle off in your ship and go on your merry way to save the galaxy once again. This is where the factual info that BioWare has provided straight-up ends, and where my observations being. After the debacle that was Sovereign's attack on Citadel, much of the geth fleet that attacked was destroyed. Following this incident, the remaining geth seem to have returned to their preferred behavior prior to their discovery of Sovereign: lurking behind the Perseus Veil, viciously protecting their territory but otherwise not taking any actions or venturing beyond their borders. Recently, however, geth reports have been on the rise again. Suspicious, Cerebus seems to think that there is a link between them and the disappearing colonies; they appear to be evolving faster than they have before, with more and more specialized combat models appearing and the rest wielding more of the innovative and unusual weaponry that they were wielding in the previous game. Equally and perhaps more troubling is the reappearance of husks, the cyber-zombies always present in the aftermath of a geth attack on a populated area. However, husks have been appearing on planets that are heavily populated and developed, and upon which there are apparently no geth. And the geth have not been previously noted for their subtlety. In addition, you only encountered one type of husk in the first game; now, you are facing at least three new types in addition to the standard husk. Hm. On a different front, there are the activities of a mysterious synthetics corporation and the group of mercenaries known as Eclipse currently in their employ. What exactly this company does isn't known for certain, apparently they specialize in making mechs. Clarified, they appear to be making mechanical soldiers, humanoid synths who specialize in combat. Nothing unusual, right? Wrong. Apparently their mechs are more advanced than any others currently in development. Take a look at the standard troops. Yes, I know it isn't that great of an image, but still look. Nothing all the remarkable, right? Now then, take a look at this. I don't know about you, but the big guys remind me of the geth. A lot. And remember Nassana Dantius? Let me clarify: remember the asari chick who asked you to "rescue" her sister who had been "kidnapped" by mercenaries? And how it turned out that her sister was in fact leading said mercenaries and all Nassana really wanted was for someone to kill the black sheep of the family so she would stop blackmailing her more influential sister? Yeah. One of your companions is an assassin hired to kill her. You have to get to her before he does, so you can at least meet up with him. Sounds inconsequential, but on the way, she is protected by Eclipse mercenaries fighting in tandem with the smaller mechs, called Loki. This heavily implies that Nassana is part of or at least is affiliated with the shadowy company. Now for my theory. We know that the threat of the Reapers isn't over with by a long shot. We know that they are still out there; it is heavily implied that there are factions working for them, and it is very possible that Sovereign managed to do more indoctrinating that we previously thought. So, I thought, it is possible that this shadow company was indoctrinated by Sovereign into doing the Reapers' work. The geth were instructed to work with them, to go with a plan B Sovereign formulated in the laughable possibility that he should fail. So, the geth have been quietly kidnapping these human colonies around the galaxy, humans being the ones who destroyed their lord, and are delivering them to this shadow company. The shadow company has then been using these humans as test subjects, creating more and more powerful husks. Factor in the presence of Nassana Dantius, who has access to extremely high-level biotic technology and research, and you get the possibility of psychic cybernetic zombies. At the same time, they have been upgrading the geth, making them more powerful as well, and creating marketable, stealth versions of the geth, spreading them throughout the galaxy, and strengthening the synthetic army in preparation for the day of the next Reaper's appearance. Once it appears, the synthetics will rise up with their strengthened army, and cause enough chaos for this new Reaper to get to the Citadel and bring the rest through. That was my theory. I was very proud of it. Then, earlier today, BioWare released a new video, this one detailing some of the enemies you will be facing in the game. Excited, I hurried down to the official site and downloaded the video, like a good little fanboy. Now, indulge me a metaphor. Let us say that my theory is a poor, confused sap standing in the middle of a field with his head coated in red paint. And the new video is a high-powered sniper rifle. BioWare takes this rifle and points it at my theory. Boom. Headshot. My theory is destroyed. This new video tells us a lot about the story of the game. A lot. It introduces an entire new species: the Collectors, odd bug-like people who have a taste for acquiring genetically odd individuals. It also goes into more detail about the husks and the geth. Now, let me tell you what's really going on. It isn't the geth who are rounding up the humans. It's the Collectors. They land in the colonies with massive ships and release swarms of small (well, small when compared to the actual Collectors) insects. These insects have poison that can paralyze humans; once the humans are helpless, the Collectors drag them into pods and whisk them away, leaving no evidence that they were ever there. Why? No one knows yet. But the Collectors are using advanced technology that they, somehow, got from the Reapers. Someone is performing experiments on the husks. But it doesn't look like the humans now. It may be the geth. Or it may be the reapers themselves. But now I have no clue how they fit into this. And the geth themselves are changing. Some of the m have managed to evolve, so separate themselves from the mass consciousness that once allowed them to operate and become truly sentient. Why? How? What do they want? Are they with the rest of the geth, or are they against them? These separated geth apparently hold different beliefs than that of the collective; time will tell if this means that they clash. With one video, BioWare turned my theory on its head. By showing much more info than they usually do, they have served to obfuscate the battlefield and throw what was once thought to be certainties into chaos and confusion. Now I have no idea what's going on. All I can do is wait for the next news article, for the next video or batch of screenshots. In the meantime, I must come up with more theories, theories that will also likely be turned on their heads. Well played, BioWare. Well played.
