  1. Does anyone know why Kopeke's appearance changed so drastically from the MNOG to his 03 toy? I would like to know if there is an explanation.
  2. From VERSUS 2's Team MEGA-ORB (Pulse, Kopekemaster, ShadowVezon, Unit, Vrokorta, and possibly other contributors), this is: Welcome, fellow weavers of extravagant tales of Bionicle lore. The Bionicle story team has convened all of you to write the next Bionicle story. Unfortunately, there is a catch. The story must be typed out in sections, and each of the continuing sections must be voted on by the entire group. Rounds: Part 1: Submit your continuation In this part of the round, any member who stops by this topic may type up a paragraph to continue the story after the The Story So Far (see below). Your paragraphs may be serious, wacky, comedic, or anything else you want them to be - the sky is the limit! You will have 24 hours (from the time on this post, etc) to submit your paragraphs. Part 2: Vote on the submitted paragraphs After the paragraph-submitting portion of the round has ended, you will have 24 hours to vote for which paragraph will be added to the The Story So Far. Evaluation of the paragraphs and providing reasoning behind your vote is encouraged! -Rules: ---Has to be a paragraph, so it has to be more than just one sentence, but not be something fifteen sentences long. ---Has to be written as a story, so no role-playing. Characters, if any, do not belong to anyone. ---Cannot simply disregard previous stuff without a good explanation. ---Don't be a sore loser. ---Don't plagiarise. ---Please distinguish your paragraph submission from the rest of your post/commentary. The Story So Far: The Toa who had no name stepped onto the final jutting rock of the ledge, looking out over the plains of Po-Wahi. They had no name because they had left it behind, abandoned it because they no longer deserved one. They were merely a traveller, now, an observer of the way things went on around them without participating themself. That was the plan, the intention. To observe, but not to interfere. It had been so long since they had last acted they had forgotten most of themself, now reduced to a mere observer. They heard the wind breeze over the sand, they saw the sand move along with the wind, they felt the sand flying into their body as it was carried by the wind. A sandstorm was coming. It was time to move, to travel onwards. They jumped off the ledge and landed lightly, flattening the dried shrub below them with a soft crunch. ------------------------------------ What will happen next? Go! 24 hours starts now.

  4. Hello all, as usual. Now, I have had an interesting theory that's been preying for a while, and that's this: In G1, the Toa Mata were created as an emergency failsafe for the crash of the GSR. (sorry, GSR, u crashed) Then are presented unto the island of Mata Nui with a mission to rid the world of Makuta and stop the Rahi from casing destruction. Although, beforehand, Helryx just wakes them up and sends them on their way, easily finding out mask powers and abilities, speech capability, waliking, etc., something brand-new beings don't know off the bat. Which brigs up the question; were the Toa Mata originally Matoran? they instantly figured out a ton of things and were able to socially interact in seconds, but... Why am I bringing this up in a G2 argument? The same happened here. Six villagers were taken from their homes, wiped of all memory, and turned into Toa with fighting capabilities to destroy any evil threat that cane upon the island by, possibly, a higher power source. Something LEGO could work off of in the future. That would explain how the mysterious protector of fire was able to call out Tahu's name as soon as he landed. Now, that video brings up other issues, like how come the skull spiders suck so bad, and do villagers control elemental powers like the protectors, and were the protectors once Toa, but for right now, this is my question. Go ahead, wizards of B/S/T!
  5. I was re-reading some of the story serials today and it got me wondering, what other areas of the Bionicle storyline do you wish got its own serial? I always loved that we got to explore the secondary stories in these, what was going on elsewhere alongside the main story being told in the comics and books. Personally, I would have loved a serial focussing on the Turaga during the Dark Time on Mata-Nui. It could explore how they adapted to lives as leaders of the Matoran rather than their protectors, the formation of the Koro, the Kraata hunts etc. What little explored aspect of the story would you want a serial of?
  6. What if there was a game like no other? A game that stepped outside the usual cliches of ComputerRPG and Real-Time Strategy? A game set on the most incredible island you'll ever visit? A game you could play again, and again, and again... And each time have a completely different experience? The OmniMyth is coming. And when it does, #NothingWillNeverBeTheSame. Follow Fanatic Studios on Twitter for updates.
  7. Post your thoughts about my new multi-chapter story, Search for Takanuva, here! Link to the story: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/16318-the-search-for-takanuva/
  8. I think many Bionicle fans will agree that although Gen 1 Bionicle's story was pretty awesome, it had its share of flaws in both its content and the way it was delivered. Generation 2 represents a fresh new start for the line, whereupon I hope LEGO use what they've learned from some of Gen 1's precieved weaknesses to make Gen 2 have a great storyline (after they finish up that mediocre web series). I'll say what I hope LEGO will do with Gen 2's story, and then I's like to know what you guys think they should do. (I know I've kinda discussed this topic in "Will Bionicle Ever Reach Its full Story Potential," but I figured something more focused would be better for discussion). From what I personally believe, and from what I've gathered from other members on this forum, these are the completely subjective flaws of Gen 1 Bionicle: 1) The overall plot was too complex, requiring fans to read through multiple stories, presented through many forms of media (story serials, novels, graphic novels, movies, guidebooks) in order to fully understand. 2) The online story serials lacked structure, and were basically pointless side plots with no real effect on the main story. In particular Brothers In Arms had a weird ending. To me, they seemed kind of "fanfiction-y" (no offense meant to our lord and saviour Mr. Farshtey). 3) This one's kind of split between fans, but some people didn't like how Bionicle got darker with more Sci-Fi elements as the series went on. 4) Some people didn't like the sudden setting changes of the Ignition Arc 5) Some lore elements, such as romance being non-canon and the characters' 100,000 year life spans can be pretty restrictive/convoluted. 6) The Toa Nuva had poor characterization, as all 6 Toa were little more than shallow archetypes. This also applies to many of the villains. Also some fans want more female characters. Here's what I personally believe LEGO could do to make the Gen 2 story better: 1) Make the story less serialized, and more focused and concise. You shouldn't have to read online serial, comics, novels, and graphic novels to get the whole story. LEGO will probably minimize the amount of story media anyway. The story should also be pre-planned, instead of being made up as it's being written. This would allow the writers to fit a lot story into a small amount of media efficiently, without any of the excess plotlines in Greg's writing. 2) Make the story less complex, but still interesting. Gen 2 has to find the sweet spot between the immensely complex epic that was Gen 1, and the bare-bone frame that was Hero Factory. I wouldn't mind the story being slightly more light-hearted, but it has to have at least some darkness in it for it to be Bionicle in my eyes. 3) Keep the interesting parts of the story. While the lore could be less complex, fundamental elements like the matoran language and the various cultures of the matoran tribes should be kept, because they were what made Bionicle so unique. 4) Maintain a more consistent genre. Gen 2 has started out as fantasy, and for the most part it should stay that way. I wouldn't mind some Sci-Fi elements here, but nothing as drastic as the shift made in Gen 1. 5) Maintain well developed settings, and change settings less. It's no accident that people get attached to interesting places over time. It would be nice it Okoto was further developed, and if the Toa could stay on it for some time before going elsewhere. 6) Have actual character development. "Nuff said. And finally, 7) Allow romance. Also, not everyone lives 100,000 years. So, what do you guys think LEGO could do to Gen 2, to make it as good if not better than Gen 1?
  9. So, we've got the LEGO website with all of the Bionicle G2 storyline up to date...but they are very short and do not go into detail. So I'm starting an epic. Chapter I The Legend There were once two brothers, Ekimu and Makuta. These two brothers were legendary mask makers on the island of Okoto. The island Okoto consisted of 6 regions, each having it's own elemental power. There was fire, water, stone, earth, jungle, and ice. The region of Fire is volcanic and fierce. Magma spills from the huge mountain ranges and run south forming broad, burning rivers. The region of earth is black, glasslike and nightmarish while the region of stone is a great barren desert spreading across the northwestern part of Okoto. The region of ice is extremely frigid (obviously) and glaciers and tundra permanently freeze it. The region of water is composed of lakes and thundering rivers that form large deltas. Finally, the region of jungle is a dangerous place full of gigantic trees and savage wildlife. Going back to the two brothers and mask makers, Ekimu's masks were considerably more acclaimed than Makuta's masks, expecially Ekimu's great Mask of Creation. Makuta's greatest mask at the moment was the Mask of Control. However, there was an ancient law that states a mask can only have a single elemental power in it, and because of his jealousy, Makuta broke the law and made The Mask of Ultimate Power. The moment Makuta put the mask on, he became so powerful that he grew very large and the earth quaked. Suddenly, Ekimu, realizing what his brother had done, managed to take off Makuta's Mask of Ultimate Power. This created a shockwave, sending both the brothers into an eternal sleep...
  10. A Shadow is rising over the world and two boys will discover their destiny as Guardians of Mata-Nui. Once again the peaceful Matoran have found themselves under siege from the forces of the Makuta, or so they believe. The fate of Earth and Mata Nui is intertwined as Humans, Toa and even the Makuta must unite to uncover the greatest secret in existence, a secret that must never be known... all History is a lie. The Dark one is coming... What began as an idea seven years ago from my friend is finally becoming what I hope to be a fan fiction Epic. Over these years we have both built on his story of what it would be like to be torn from this world and thrown into the world of Mata Nui, and now the story is ready to be told. Both Legendary characters from the Toa to the Matoran and original characters feature in Bionicle - Legend of Earth. The story will take place across the island of Mata Nui, Earth and even places that are yet to be found. The Toa will fight the biggest battle they have ever faced compared to the original story, and possible even the world of fan fiction! A threat that dwarfs the Makuta is approaching, for Earth and Bara Magna it is do or die as two teenage boys join them to discover the forgotten history of both their world's, and the origin of the Great Beings... Bionicle - Legend of Earth will be split into four parts, all four should have around about twelve to fifteen chapters in each (It's a long tale!). Comments, constructive criticism and recommendations are always welcome! Please visit the Review topic for these: Legend of Earth Review Topic Thanks to Toa Tom for the great artwork, please visit his Deviant art page for more! Toa Tom Prologue Miles and miles of Hexagonal tunnels lay before the already daunted villager. It was both a privilege and a curse to be given the task at hand, for every year, month, day and minute of his people’s history surrounded him. A seemingly unending trove of books and data disks recorded every adventure of his Matoran brethren and their Toa guardians. Sorting all of these out was to be a nightmare, after various rampaging Rahi had left the archives data scattered through the winding tunnels. Many villagers throughout the Islands of Mata Nui and the newly re-populated Voya Nui volunteered to help reorganise the archive. Some came with excitement and some with ‘persuasion’. The job even required the help of some of the islands' many Toa, including a rather bored Nuparu. For what felt like hours the young Matoran villager searched for his missing companion. He was always running off, leaving his dearest friends scared half to death at his possible fate. He was to discover both his friend and something that would change the islands history, and indeed the history of untold billions. As he searched through the unending, repeating tunnels, something glowed brightly in the corner of his left eye. The light startled the poor Matoran leaving him jolting his body to meet the light in his gaze, and letting what can only be described as a rather ‘girly’ scream escape his mouth. The Matoran’s actions attracted the attention of Nuparu and another nearby Matoran. “Who in blazes let out that wimpy scream?” Nuparu was less than impressed at the Matoran’s sharp cry for help. “If you notice something scary, tell us instead of shattering our masks, okay?!” The Matoran looked slightly ashamed of himself. The Toa’s attention was quickly drawn towards the source of the mysterious light, which was now little more than a luminous-green glow. The source of light, to Nuparu’s shock, was a heavy-looking tome. Nuparu and Turaga Onewa once had uncompromising knowledge of the archive’s contents, spending hours memorising the strange items and creatures that lie within in order to prevent them from going missing (which was used to great effect when the archives collection of Rahi attempted to escape), but knowledge of any book like this escaped his mind. The tome appeared to be made to a high quality and carried not a speck of dust, as if it had only recently been placed there. “Who has had access to this area?” Nuparu asked the Matoran that accompanied him. “No one! Only us”. The Matoran looked startled. Finally Nuparu’s curiosity could be contained no longer and he proceeded to open the tome. To his horror, the first page was blank! As was the next, and the next. He started to question whether this was just a trick by one of the Matoran but this was swiftly removed from his mind when the tome once again glowed blindingly. Before they could think, the book returned to its dim state, and Nuparu turned to the first page without hesitation. This time, however, the page was not blank, but marked with a painting of exquisite detail. Dumfounded, Nuparu scanned this impossible art piece. Upon the page was depicted what appeared to be two Toa, one clad in gold and the other in silver, standing before the mouth of a demon that was part shadow. The painting began to freak him out, so Nuparu turned the page again, hoping for no more paintings of demons to alter his day. He was relieved to find no more, but what lay before him this time was a painting of three words carved in stone; Legend of Earth…
  11. So as we all know bionicle G1's story was never finished, this is due to the fact Greg had a child in 2011, and that lego doesn't want him to give attention to G1 as it would conflict with the reboot. But despite all of this do you think Greg may one day finish the old story? If so then how and when?
  12. I've been watching a couple episodes of Transormers Prime and MLP on the Hub (or Discovery Kids or whatever) lately, and I've also been following the story of Bionicle G2 through the videos posted on it's LEGO homepage. Both Prime and MLP are great shows (especially Prime, you guys should check that out) which are well-liked by audiences outside of their target demographic, largely due to their mature but not necessarily dark take on their subject matter. By comparison, the G2 videos and even the movies of G1 seem paper thin in terms of the themes presented and too sanitized in terms of the overall tone (Unity! Duty! Destiny! Unity! Duty! Destiny! Unity! Duty! Destiny!). What I'm trying to say is that if there's one thing those shows have taught me, it's that a toy-driven storyline can still be emotional, complex and well-written, despite having the constant constraint of selling toys. Even though they're aimed at kids, these shows are successful in having depth-Transformers Prime explored themes like the need to move on from loss and what it meant to be a leader. Even the Transformers Beast Wars cartoon from the 90s conveyed relatively complex themes like fate and free will, what it meant to fight with honor (Dinobot, anyone?), and the harsh realities of war (*shudder* Transmutate, anyone?)--without alienating their kid audience. As a reboot of the relatively story-heavy G1 line, G2 Bionicle has so much potential to finally be a mature (NOT synonymous with dark and brooding) take on the line; with a deep story, well-developed characters, and a reasonably fleshed-out world. In this day and age, it seems reasonable that Bionicle's target audience can understand themes more complex than the need to work together and take more action than just slapping around some spiders/freezing some Rahkshi. The new line has presented LEGO with an opportunity to create a story not only match but perhaps even surpass that of the old G1 line. So far, with what we're given, it doesn't seem LEGO has grasped that opportunity....yet. I understand that right now we're only on the summer wave and there's a lot more content to go through, but I sincerely hope that LEGO changes things up soon after the video series is over. I'll be really disappointed if they don't. G2 Bionicle has so much potential in terms of plot, characters, setting, and mythology especially since it can draw elements from G1. And thanks to their recent partnership with Warner Bros. (they created Batman: The Animated Series), LEGO has the means to make something great. What do you guys think? Do you think the Bionicle storyline will ever reach its full potential?
  13. So, in this image (which I'm sure everybody has seen by now) one can clearly see that the new villain sets come with new dual-colored golden masks corresponding to the Masks of Earth, Ice, Jungle, and Stone. They're (more or less) clearly supposed to be worn by their respective Toa. But if so, then why do Kopaka, Onua, Lewa, and Pohatu get fancier masks, while Tahu and Gali don't get in on the new fashion trend? What are these new masks for? What advantage do these new masks have over their regular counterparts? Here are a few theories: - The new Masks are simply more powerful counterparts of their respective Elemental Masks. (i.e. New earth mask is more powerful than the Golden Mask of Earth.) (the boring theory) - The new Masks are Gen 2's version of infected Kanohi. (the least likely in my opinion, though I've heard people say it's the obvious answer to the question.) - The new Masks give the Toa control of more than one Element. (i.e. Onua gets Earth and Gravity, Pohatu gets Stone and Metal, (if you wanna go down that road.)) I'm drawing a big blank as to why Tahu and Gali won't be receiving such masks. (If they are indeed intended for the Toa) There's really not enough evidence at this point to speculate anything, but might as well. Any thoughts? other theories?
  14. X-Men Darkest Days: Fire and Ice The following is a Fan Fiction that Tyler gave me the idea to write today when he said he always wondered what if the Hellfire/Phoenix plot had played out. So what you have before you is an alternate universe from the XMDD RP. In this Universe things go pretty much exactly the same up to a certain point, which is towards the end of the X-Men's last great battle, Las Vegas. After that you will see where this universe starts to divulge a lot and go its own way. Another change that happened earlier, before Vegas is that Jace never killed the Black Queen Katherine, so keep that in mind for future parts. I tried to write the characters featured here to the best of my ability, if anyone thinks some things need to be changed with their characters then I can edit. You'll see some characters you love and some you might hate. If your character is not featured its either because they didn't seem overall important to the plot I'm going for, I don't remember their powers or that I can't juggle too many characters, I'm going to do the best with the ones I've selected. That doesn't mean other characters from the RP who aren't in the first part won't appear in future parts. So with that out of the way... enjoy the story and would love to hear what players of XMDD think about it! Discussion Thread Part 1 "Ashlynn, it's okay. It's not a trick; it's me, Warren." She felt his hands pressing gently against her neck. His voice was calm and trusting… but Ash’s dark passenger, the Phoenix force that was now a part of her began to scream something else entirely. “No… no… no NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!” Ashlynn Summers screamed as she threw both arms out and her head snapped upwards towards the sky. Warren went in for the kill, trying to twist Ash neck and snap it instantly but it was too late. Liquid fire exploded out of Ashlynn literally in every direction, Warren was thrown backwards like a rag-doll as the merciless Phoenix fire washed over him for the second time in his life… It was over quickly. Ash now sat crouched on the skyscraper rooftop. She blinked her eyes, not truly understanding what had just happened. That she had lost herself for a second, taken over by that thing inside her. “Warren?” she asked as she cast her ultra-green eyes around and then paused. Almost as far as she could see all she saw was ruin; burned; charred and desolate ruin. Entire buildings had been turned into burnt up husks. “Oh… my god… no… I didn’t do that! I didn’t do that!” Ash said on the verge of a melt-down. No… I did. I had too; he was going to kill you Ashlynn. I saved you, we saved you. You can’t trust your friends; they don’t understand… they will try to kill you like Warren. A voice said within Ash’s mind. It wasn’t a voice per-say, more like a thousand voices stitched together. “I’m so sorry… I didn’t mean to do this… I didn’t mean to hurt anyone.” Ash said as her tears fell against the charred concrete. There was a blur of motion and then suddenly a man dressed in a black suit stood before Ashlynn. He had a sort of, old timey air about him. His hear was dark and pulled back behind his head, and a scruffy black beard coated either side of his face. “Who are you?” Ashlynn’s voice cracked. “Are you here to kill me?” she added. “No my dear, I am not here to kill you.” He started. His voice was eloquent and powerful. “My name is Sebastian Shaw. I have come here because I know what you are going through my dear. I’ve seen it before. With your mother, everyone will think you are a monster now. Your friends will turn into enemies and your enemies into friends. But to me, the Phoenix Force is beautiful. It can be controlled, I can teach you.” Shaw said. He cast a hand at the burned ruins of Vegas that surrounded them. “This… all of this… so much destruction and so many innocent lives lost. It can all be avoided Mrs. Summers. The Phoenix Force can be controlled, but to do this you must trust me. What happened with your mother 17 years ago can be avoided. We can save the world together; we can change it with your power. No one else has to die.” His words were so swaying, Ashlynn wanted to trust him but she’d heard that name before. She knew he was affiliated with Hellfire, even if she didn’t know much about them. Something inside her, maybe it was the Phoenix told her, that she could trust Shaw. She slowly got to her feet; sniffling her nose and trying to be strong. “Fine I will trust you. I will come with you. But if I decide that you’re not telling the truth, that you want to use me for your own selfish and evil goals then I will destroy you. You’ve seen what I can do.” “There is no doubt in my mind that you can and you will. But I assure you it will not come to that. You are making a wise choice Mrs. Summers. Now let’s be off, shall we?” **** John suddenly sat up and groaned. The last thing he remembered was that the X-Men still alive and able to move had made it to a small run down building for shelter from the assassin and Delta Squad threat. Then the whole place had exploded around him. He’d seen fire wash over everything through the windows and then everything had gone black. He suddenly cast his eyes around him, first noticing that the roof of the building was now completely gone, burned away by something. John thought he knew what that something was; the same thing that had killed Jeremy Walker not an hour before, The Phoenix. John suddenly glanced around, trying to see if everyone was okay. That was when he noticed Liliana. She was lying near John; half covered by rubble and badly burnt. “Liliana?!” John shouted as he moved towards her. Her chest wasn’t rising and falling, he quickly checked for a pulse but found none. She was gone… “No… NO!” John shouted as rage and sadness overtook him. The one girl he had ever loved was lying dead before him and there was nothing he could do. “Is anyone alive… anyone… please.” John sobbed; too busy crying to look around him. He heard some groans and movement and looked up to see a few others rising from the ashes and rubble. Nathan stood up, his wing still clearly broken. “I’m alive…” Nathan said, “And so is Jesika.” He added. Good the little girl is okay. John thought. He knew he had to be strong now; there wasn’t time for him to mourn. “I’m okay,” Matt Summers chimed in. “What the ###### happened?” “Looks like my sister blew the place up.” Zack said, John remembered he’d been shot, but it was good to know he was still kicking. “I’m alive.” Julia said as she got to her feet, John was immensely happy that she was, especially after he lost control and their little fight. “So am I…” Alec sat up and shook his head before dusting off his metal arm. “I’m alright but my wheelchair is trashed.” Nero said, coughing from the dust. “Resident shape-shifter is alive.” Chris said. John slowly counted the names of the survivors off in his head, himself, Nathan, Jesika, Matt, Zack, Julia, Alec, Nero, Chris and Alex. He gulped when he thought about who they had lost. “Not Jordan… no he can’t be gone.” Zack said, he seemed to be in shock. “Poor Fauna…” Jesika said, John couldn’t imagine what the kid had seen today. “We didn’t all make it,” the almost emotionless voice of Alex said now as he adjusted his glasses. “Blake, Scott, Spirit, Jordan, Tyrone and Fauna are all dead. I can’t see any body for Ultimate Chris but he is presumed dead or missing in action.” He said; John wasn’t sure how he was being so calm about that fact. “Liliana is dead too.” John said. “I’m sorry John.” Julia said. He cast his eyes on what was left of the X-Men; they all looked scared, burnt, injured but happy to be alive. “We need to get out of the city. There is no telling if the Phoenix will strike again.” Alex said taking the lead. “I agree with slim. We carry those who are too injured.” John said as he got to his feet. A few minutes later and the X-Men were slowly moving through the ruins of Las Vegas. It seemed that any assassin had been vaporized in the blast, there didn’t seem to be another human being alive in sight. “Where did those giant Enforcer mechs go?” Matt said, referring to the ones he’d tried to blast earlier and had ended up getting Aleks very wounded. Rebekah had shown up before taking Aleks away from the scene and Christine had gone after both of them, he felt severely guilty. Alec and Nathan were helping to carrying Nero, Jesika sticking close to Nathan. “Gone, they were right over the city, no way they survived the explosion.” Alex said. “Sorry to make you guys carry me, I would shift into my lycan form but I’m kinda out of juice.” Nero said. “The Blackbird was shot down, and everything is destroyed, how are we supposed to get back to Westchester?” Chris asked. “Zack needs medical attention; we have to find a way out.” Julia added. “Too bad that Spirit guy’s dead, I sure could of used his healing powers.” Zack muttered, wincing from his gunshot wound. John looked at Zack and his eyes softened. The kid had gone through too much in one day, for one his sister had gone Phoenix and killed Jeremy, now she’d blown up half of the entire city killing Jordan too along with a lot of good other people and countless innocent, and some not so innocent lives. Thirty minutes or so later of walking through the ruined city and John noticed some movement. There seemed to be someone running through the streets, with someone else slung over their back. “Christine?!” John shouted. The person stopped and turned, it was her sure enough, bloody and covered in ash but her. The person on her back looked to be an injured, and unconscious Aleks. “Ah followed Rebekah to a hospital… she left and Ah found Aleks then the whole place exploded.” Christine said breathing hard, it was clear she was happy to see the group. “Where is everyone else?” Christine asked. “Dead or missing,” Alex said. She shook her head but said nothing. “Aleks is badly hurt; we have to get him out of the city. We have to get him some help.” Christine said. “And we will. I promise.” Matt said. “We just have to keep going, there has to be an end to these blast ruins, there has to be a useable hospital somewhere up head.” “Ah hope Rebekah got out of the city before this happened.” Christine added. “I’m sure she’s fine, Rebekah doesn’t seem to be easily killed.” Alec said. “Maybe we should try stealing a car.” Chris advised. “There’s no cars’ left; they’ve all been melted down.” Join pointed out. “We just have to keep going and hope we can make it out of this.” Another twenty minutes of walking and then the group of rag-tag X-Men survivors suddenly paused as they seemingly reached the end of the blast radius. Beyond that there seemed to be nothing but normal city. “We made it…” Christine said with tears in her eyes. “You guys see that? Is that what I think it is? Or am I hallucinating?” Zack asked squinting through his red glasses as he pointed at a large and familiar looking aircraft. “The second Blackbird,” Alec whistled. “What would it be doing here?” Chris wondered. “I told you it’s going to be okay.” Nathan told Jesika. A few minutes later and the entire crew were inside, most of them sitting down or strapping in. John watched as Christine tended to Aleks who was still out cold. “There is no one in here.” John pointed out. Then they heard someone banging one of the lockers. "What the ****?" Zack said. Alex crouched down and opened the locker. It was none other then Alaric. "Warren... where's Warren?" Ric asked. **** Genosha was under attack. The Enforcers were here. Pietro stood at his window as he watched them bombard the force field protecting the mutant nation. It was only a matter of time before they broke through, before they killed them all. Nate, Scorcher, Destruction, Shiloh and Magnitude all stood near Pietro watching the assault. “We must leave.” Pietro said finally. There wasn’t time to save everyone; no he would only be able to save those close to hand. That was when Pietro got a call. He pulled out his cellphone and answered it. “Hello?” Quicksilver asked. “We are in position, should we move in? President Binder will be dead in minutes.” A crisp voice said over the line. Then Pietro suddenly remembered his assassination plans, the assassin squad he’d sent into DC to take the President out. This was the wrong time, completely. The Brotherhood was already on the verge if destruction of they moved forward the Enforcers would make sure they hunted them all down until the Brotherhood was extinct. “Negative, back out, the operation is over.” Pietro commanded. “But…” “No, the operation is over if you do this you will be doing it alone. I will take no part.” Pietro then closed his phone. “What was that about?” a voice said from behind him. Quicksilver glanced at the few assembled Brotherhood mutants who were in his chamber: Scorcher, Destruction, Magnitude, Abraham, Dominik, Shiloh, and Nate. The rest were either defending the force field attacking the Enforcers or Quicksilver didn’t have time to collect them. “Never mind that.” He said before he raised both hands. Pietro had rebuilt Genosha out of scrap metal; that meant he could un-build it as well. The entire room crumbled and warped, forming into a massive metal ball surrounding the Brotherhood mutants inside. Pietro then focused his power over metal, the orb levitating into the air before taking off into the sky just as the force field dissolved. **** Hank McCoy continued to work on the control panel for the Danger Room. It had gone haywire not long ago, throwing the entire mansion into chaos and turning it into a Danger Mansion. He was alone with Sarah and Francesca. Something didn’t feel… right. Call it intuition, call it whatever you want. But something made Hank McCoy turn around at the last second, and he was glad he did. Francesca was holding a pistol now, aiming it towards Beast. “Pietro sends his regards.” She said coldly before she pulled the trigger several times. Beast jumped to the left as the gun went off, using his enhanced reflexes to dodge most of the shots. One of the bullets pumped into Hank’s shoulder but he hardly had time to react instead he lunged forward, relying on his speed and strength. He knocked the gun away with one of his feet, his hands pressed against the ground. He then jumped to his feet, freeing his hands. He twisted Francesca’s arm once, forcing her to drop the gun before he kicked it away. “A spy? You’ve been a spy this entire time!” Hank roared now, filling with rage. He’d trusted Francesca, he’d cared for her. She’d been a danger to him and the kids of the institute this entire time. The Danger Room malfunction had to be her, the time Beast had been shot before must have been her first attempt. His big furry hands closed around her throat and he began to squeeze. Francesca struggled but it was over very quickly she suddenly went still her last breath leaving her as the life left her eyes. Breathing heavily Hank slowly lowered Francesca’s body to the ground. He then pressed a hand over his injured shoulder and then turned back to the control panel to finish his work. He had to make sure the mansion was safe before he tended to himself. TO BE CONTINUED….
  15. Well, Cave Story is an adventure side-scrolling shooter that is packed with many weapons and weapon combinations, three different endings, and the mauling of dear plot-important characters. (cave) STORY: In a brief clip, we see a green haired man named Kazuma trying to contact someone named Sue. Don't be surprised by the fact that he had green hair, all the humans in this game have green hair. Yes, I said humans, so there are non-human people in this game. Bear with me. (Yeah, skip to the point, ghiddy. Who reads this stuff anywa-) *BANG* You play as a robotic ex-explorer named Quote, but unfortunately you have amnesia and, while you remember fighting tactics and how to talk, you can't remember your name. After stealing your first weapon from a sleeping gunsmith, the Polar Star, you crash into a village full of the main species in this game, a bunch of bunny people called Mimiga. I know some of you are thinking what the Karz, but this is an incredible and well-made game. The goal of this game is simple: Defeat the doctor, destroy the core of the island, and (if you play the game in a certain manner) defeat the evil in ###### itself. Well, the blood-stained sanctuary, but it's as tough as it anyways. PLOT POINTS: To be honest, the plot is... Excellent! I find it to be one of the best plots in video game history. Instead of "save the princess" or "kill stuff to level up" you get a vast floating island in the sky plagued by an unseen evil and a mad doctor who believes out-of-control-mutation is power. 10 out of 10 for plot. GAMEPLAY POINTS: For no reason whatsoever, down is interact when in all other games it's up. Weird... Otherwise, it's superb, but I would really have appreciated a tutorial. 8 out of 10. CHARACTER DESIGN POINTS: While some remain simplistic, all were well handled and especially well crafted. While some of the bosses gave me the heebee jeebees, they did look great, along the lines of spriting. Excellent work. 10 out of 10. BOSSES: Oh, this is a long list. Anyway, if you beat the game in a specific manner, you get three bosses you normally wouldn't get. Since I haven't met them yet, I will go by the ones I know. They're wondrous. In a game where there are more than 270 ways to die horribly, I think they needed to give you something to want to destroy and fuel your anger towards. So nicely done. 9.5 out of 10. AREA POINTS: It's vast, multi-sectioned, and wants to kill you and scrape the flesh off your bones, but it's fun. Every area is unique to the last, full of surprises and tricks when and where you least expect it, and make you wish to kill the doctor even more than before. Wonderful. 10 out of 10. FINAL VERDICT: Overall, this war spanning the fate of WW3, destruction unimaginable, a deep and saddening storyline, and feel-good characters, it's a hearty old-school fun-filled platformer with deadly threats and vast areas. It's a game which none should pass by and all should enjoy. (1=2 ~ final score x2=proper rating) (20+16+20+19+20) 9.5 out of 10.
  16. Chapter 1: The Discovery 1000 years after the return to Spherus Magna, the planet is again full of life and beautiful landscapes. Harmony is everywhere, and matoran and agori are happy. The Toa Mata are now wise turaga, and a new generation of the matoran race has arrived. Now i'll tell you a story about one matoran. That matoran's name is Takilo. Takilo was wandering near Vulcanus, when he found something very special. -Turaga Tahu! Turaga Tahu! Takilo shouted, and ran to turaga's hut -Look what i found! Takilo said, and showed the mask he found to Tahu. -You've made an important discovery, my friend. Tahu said. -Important discovery? Takilo said. -How important? -Very important, very important indeed. You have found Avohkii, the mask of light! Tahu declared Tahu explained that the mask belonged to Takanuva, toa of light, who had disappeared after the return to the planet. -Some say that he was captured by dark forces. Others tell that he just wanted to be alone. Tahu explained to Takilo -Before he became a toa, he was much like you. He wandered around the island of Mata Nui, searching for stories to tell. Tahu told. -What happened to him? Takilo asked. -We don't know. Tahu said. -Maybe you should go look for him. -I will find him. Takilo promised to Tahu, took the mask, and left the turaga's hut. (End of Chapter 1)

    New Directive

Prologue I awoke. It was a hard awakening, being pushed out onto the cold hard floor, not knowing much. I pushed my hands up from me and lifted myself up with my legs. I walked forward a step, and then another. I examined my hands, strange hands. They were almost circular, with strange spikes coming out from them. I examined my surroundings. Dark, bleak, un-welcoming and... a strange phrase, but... lonely. I was alone. My brothers were not here. No body was here. Our pods were empty, nothing was there. They were rotting, drooping, as if it had all happened a long time ago. Then I realised. I had no directive. "Prime Directive... None." I said to myself, my voice robotic and tinny, changing frequency with each new line. I walked away from the darkness, up a slow slope and into the light. "New Prime Directive - find life, give new Prime Directive." I walked forward.
  18. This be the discussion topic for X-Men Darkest Days: Fire and Ice. If you have any questions, or would like to request one of your characters to be in the story that I haven't put in it you can do so. Comments/critisicms are appreciated. If you have ideas for the story or for your character or want to make changes on something they did or said you can put that here as well and I will make edits to the story. Hope you guys enjoy.
  19. So my story Fire Tears is a fan fiction set in the new Bionicle 2015 story. It exists in its own alternate Okoto universe which shares some stuff from Gen 1 while the main storyline revolves around Gen 2. Pretty much I'm using elements from the old Bionicle to fill in details that are so far unknown with the new Bionicle. I'll take your thoughts, criticisms, questions and advice in here if anyone actually reads this. Yes I decided to name all the Protector's after the Turaga, and yes I'm using Original Characters instead of some of the more known Matoran from the old universe.
  20. Fire Tears Part 1 It was a normal night within Ta-Koto, the capitol city of the Fire Region that consisted of one massive black castle with many spires and adjacent towers. Kaeren stood within one of those towers, staring down at a map of Okoto. A taller Ta-Matoran stood across the table from Kaeren staring down at the maps. "We've noticed concentrations of Skull Spiders here and here in our region..." he jabbed a crimson finger at two points on the map. "Are you going to order the Guards to try to search for a nest Jakab?" Kaeren asked earnestly, trying to learn as much as he can. "Yes, I think that would be the right move little brother." Jakab nodded. Jakab looked much the same as kaeren, except his standard Matoran mask was a bit scarred. Kaeren was about to say something to his older brother when suddenly horns began to sound throughout the castle. "We are under attack!" Jakab shouted. He drew his twin lava swords from his back in one smooth motion, before turning towards the open window. Kaeren rushed over to the window to see Ta-Koto guards raising the main gate to the city, except that Skull Spiders were still streaming in over the gate as it was slowly closing. "I have to go, stay here Kaeren." Jakab said. "No! I'm coming with you! I can fight! I'm old enough to fight now, you've been training me!" Kaeren said defiantly. Jakab turned back to Kaeren. "No little brother, it is not your time yet to test your worth in battle. You will be an official Ta-Koto Guard in a few days. Which means you will be under my command since I am Captain of the Guard. Stay here brother, that is an order." with that Jakab threw open the door and dashed down the stairs... Kaeren stood by the window, feeling extremly helpless as more Skull Spiders began to stream into Ta-Koto. The gate finally closed, but there was still a good deal inside. He watched as Ta-Koto guards began to fight hard against the creatures, using their spears as they defended their home. He even saw his brother down at the forefront, slashing at Skull Spiders with his swords. That's it I'm going down there to help. Kaeren thought. He turned away from the window and moved across the room where several Ta-Koto Guard spears were being hung against the wall. Kaeren grabbed one of the red two-pronged spears and lifted it up before he also grabbed a shield with the flame insignia of the Ta-Koto guard across the front. He turned and dashed through the open door before heading down the stairs. Even as he moved through the tower, making his way to the fight he could still hear the sounds of battle. The Ta-Matoran threw open the door to the tower and stepped out into the courtyard. It was chaos, red armored Ta-Koto guards were everywhere attacking Skull Spiders. A Skull Spider scuttled towards Kaeren and jumped at him, Kaeren lifted his shield, deflecting the Spider and launching it into the air. Bolts of flame burst into several Skull Spiders and Kaeren turned to see The Protector of Fire, Vakama joining the fight also, his black cloak swirling behind him as he used his elemental blaster. Kaeren jumped into the fray then, using his spear as he struck at several Skull Spiders, taking three out this way. That was when Kaeren looked up, only to notice a large group of Skull Spiders crawl over the wall before launching themselves onto a group of the Guard' heads. "Watch out!" Kaeren shouted but it was too late, the Skull Spiders latched onto the Guards masks. They went rigid before they turned and began attacking their own comrades. Kaeren looked up to see his brother surrounded by piles of unmoving Skull Spiders, it gave him new found motivation in his attacks. The battle wasn't going well, it was obvious to Kaeren as he fought for his life that the Ta-Koto Guards were overwhelmed by the Spider threat. While he was busy fighting he heard his brother Jakab shouting commands at his men constantly. More and more Matoran were falling, Skull Spiders hugging their face before they rose with a new sinister purpose. The infected Matoran then began to do something organized. They swarmed the Guards booth on the side of the courtyard, grabbing the controls for the massive gate into the city, and releasing it so the gate would now open. Kaeren stood still with fear as the gate fell open, allowing passage for more Spiders to come through. Except there were no more Skull Spiders outside the gate, there was nothing except the Fire Region countryside and the massive lava moat that surrounded the castle. Then the infected did something Kaeren almost couldn't comprehend. They began to walk out onto the gate which served as a bridge across the lava moat before they stepped off the edge, willingly dropping themselves down into the lava. "By Ekimu don't!" Kaeren shouted, but it was too late, he watched as other Ta-Matoran threw themselves into the molten lava. Ta-Matoran were more heat resistant then any other Matoran, they could survive maybe a few seconds or even a few minutes in the lava, and still with severe injuries. That was why lava surfing was such a dangerous sport, most Ta-Matoran practiced first in water so they learned to never fall of their board. He charged through the crowd, running out into the gate and looking over the side to see if there was anyway to help the Matoran. Some of their arms were reaching upwards out of the lava as they slowly sank beneath its depth, he could see a few of their masks, still with a Skull Spider attatched above the surface before they sank as well. Fury overtook Kaeren as he got to his feet. He turned towards the nearest Skull Spider and unleashed a blast of flame from his palm, knocking it into the lava.
  21. I went out and took some pictures of the two protagonists of my story, Sacred Profane, and edited them to look like they were taken with a primitive Po-Koroan silver plate camera. Not much else to it. And some less *artsy* ones so you can make out the construction.

    Game Thoughts

Good story doesn't excuse bad gameplay, nor does it excuse anything else. I would see where you're coming from if we were talking about good gameplay and bad story - but here, I don't. What do we play games for? Gameplay, I would think. Would they still be games without gameplay? Story can enhance a game, yes, but there are several other mediums stories can be told through, in most of which story is more important. Ideally, we would have good story and good gameplay, but that's often hard to come by, especially in AAA games that are just endless rehashes/reskins of previous games. Recently there's also been a lot of nonsense about 'immersion', whatever the heck that's supposed to mean, used to justify mildly irritating features. There's also a sort of popular train of thought - x game is good because it is good and you are absolutely not allowed to criticise it, x developer is good because we said so, x game is bad because we said so and cannot ever change from being bad despite us being in the age where games can be digitally patched, x developer is bad because of a thing they did a decade ago even though x liked developer did something similar last year. x publisher is also bad because they did THAT THING!!!! x publisher is better, they released [hyped game] for [free/at a discount]! [indie game] is great, never bad! All DLC is bad and can never be done well! Apparently, once you have a reputation, it is set in stone. Nothing ever changes. Nobody's willing to think just a little different and look at things from a different perspective. There's a lot of games put onto pedestals, and equally as much put down. Also, sometimes people seem at each other's throats for a variety of reasons, sometimes as little as liking the 'wrong thing' [how dare you like console/computer] Let's ask you a few questions, people of BZPower! Yes, I am asking you, not your friend's cat or your dad's mate. Does good story excuse bad gameplay? Does good gameplay excuse bad story? What is your opinion of Downloadable Content? How can it be done well? Examples of good and bad DLC? A much praised game you think is terrible? A much maligned game you think is actually quite good? What do you think makes a good game? Bonus question, because I want to know what people mean when they say this: What does 'immersion' even mean‽
  23. LEGO BIONICLE: Tales of the Toa A project to make a fully complete movie telling the 2001 Bionicle story (Name is not final, feel free to suggest a different name for the movie.) I've seen several compilations of Bionicle media to make up the 2001 story, but I've never seen one that manages to tell the story in a fully complete way that explains stuff to newer fans. I'm planning to make a 2001 movie comprised of all the official videos I can find (maybe even some fan-made videos) to make a 2001 Bionicle movie that is complete and will tell the story in a way that new fans will be able to enjoy without seeing any prior Bionicle media. The main problem with 2001 is that there is no single source of the whole story in video format. The main formats of media I have to work with are: The Mata Nui Online Game cutscenes & gameplay footageThe unreleased PC game, Legend of Mata Nui, cutscenesClips & scenes from Bionicle.com and the mini-CDsIn order to try and explain the story and make it more movie-like, I will be narrating & voicing all the characters. And when 2 forms of the same scene clash, I will typically choose the MNOG version as it tends to be more detailed and also includes dialogue. Some scenes will mix both together, such as the MNOG & LoMN Toa Kaita scenes. And so a project like this becomes pretty confusing and difficult. So I need your help. I need to figure out what the best way to put all the videos together is. My goal is to combine the Takua perspective of the 2001 story with the Toa perspective of the story into one big movie, and I'm not sure how to do it. Please feel free to give your ideas on how I should approach this. Anyone have any ideas for the order of the scenes and videos I should use? I'll release a rough cut/draft of the movie after a while. Here's my current rough idea of the scenes I'll use. Note that I will probably use the original order of the MNOG events in which Ta-Koro is shown first. (The official MNOG walkthrough released in 2006 has the Ga-Koro part of the story come before the Ta-Koro part.) MNOG Legend of Mata Nui & Makuta cutscene LoMN Canisters landing in ocean cutscene LoMN Onua Canister scene Tahu Canister scene Vakama finds Tahu's Canister scene ??? Some way to introduce Takua into the story. Perhaps the beginning moments of MNOG leading into... MNOG Tahu gazes at you cutscene MNOG Tahu & the Ta-Koro Guard cutscene ??? MNOG Tarakava attacks cutscene ??? MNOG Gali vs. Tarakava cutscene ??? (Beyond this point is only a very rough outline...) Po-Koro Koli balls story Onu-Koro mine story Le-Koro Nui-Rama story Ko-Koro story Chronicler's Company cutscenes MNOG Toa enter Kini-Nui cutscene Some scenes of the MNOG Rahi battle minigame MNOG Toa Kaita cutscenes. MNOG Battle at Kini-Nui cutscene MNOG Toa Kaita fall apart cutscene MNOG Takua returns to Onu-Koro story MNOG Takua descends into Mangaia cutscene MNOG Toa vs. Makuta + Takua finds the Bohrok nest cutscene MNOG Vakama talks to Takua cutscene The end + Bohrok twist endingI may cut out or merge a lot of the MNOG actual gameplay stuff, but I'll have to find a way to keep the vital parts of the story, like Takua receiving the Po-Koro chisel. I'm also going to insert the 2001 Toa character videos into there somewhere. As you can tell, this won't be easy, so please feel free to give feedback on what you think I should do. PROGRESS: All MNOG cutscenes have been converted to 1080p HD .mp4 format. Some need to be redone to fix errors, however. Working on cropping the LoMN cutscenes. UPDATE 11-18-2014: Check out this preview of how HD the MNOG cutscenes will be! UPDATE 11-19-2014: I've cleaned up the main post to make it shorter and more up-to-date with the current status of the project. Questions? Feedback? Anything? Feel free to comment & contribute! If this project succeeds I might go on to compile the 2002 Bohrok story together as a mini-project, though that will most definitely require stop-motion if I want to do the scene where the Toa fight the Bahrag in the Exo-Toa, so it's unlikely..
  24. Would anyone be interested in a fanfic where, a year after BIONICLE ended, the toa start popping up in our world and the humans they find themselves with try to balance helping their childhood heroes and their bank accounts while dealing with young adult life in their early to mid twenties? 'Cause I'm kinda writing the middle of the story right now. "You had your chance at the cotillion, you!" ~The Duchess Approves <3
  25. Many seem to think that the new Bionicle story is almost unconnected to the original, but I think that there might be two possibilities. for easy reference I'll call the mask maker Makuta Laridax or Larry 1. prequel From the wiki: "The Toa Mata were created by Artakha over 100,000 years ago on daxia ... After a series of adventures in Karda Nui, they were put into Toa Canisters,..." The rest is history. 100,000 years is plenty of time for an adventure on Otoko, which could be in one of the unexplored southern island chains(or even just plain destroyed by the time of the original story). Also, in the original tribal story(Gathered friends, listen again to our legend...) Mata-Nui and Terry were brothers. This is because of there origin from the great beings. One could conclude that any Makuta's brother is a creation of the great beings. Therefore Ekimu, stated as Larry's brother is a direct creation of the great beings. Ekimu, makes masks of raw elemental power, which was rare in the original story. Some of the only were the masks of light and shadows, made by Artahka. Also, Ekimu and Artakha are the only two known wearers of the mask of creation. This makes it likely that Ekimu has some relation to, or is Artakha. 2. sequel Teridax has been defeated, the matoran are now living on sphereus magna. On a peaceful, remote island somewhere in the sea(possibly a bara magna mountain top turned to an island when aqua magna returned, think Zelda windwaker) Ekimu, (the heir of) Artahka is making masks for the viligers (confirmed not matoron, possibly agori),with help from Larry. Larry plots betrayal like Terry before him, and the Toa Nuva are called in to help, outfitted with new element enhancing masks. We all know how much the Bionicle story team likes secrets and big reveals, this seems like the kind of thing they would do. What do you think? Good theories: 1.
