  1. Over the past 2 years I have been slowly working on a scientific investigation of the Spherus Magna Planetary System from BIONICLE. Do you want to know the strength of the surface gravity on Bara Magna? The orbital distance of the Red Star? Take a look at the below links to find out the answers to these and way more questions you probably never asked. I’ve spent so long on this and poured so much time and effort into it and I am so proud of the result. I hope any of you that are interested will check it out - if you get even a tenth of the enjoyment out of it that I did making it, I think it will be time well spent. I’ve got two versions of the document linked below, the Summary version (which just contains my results without any of the workings out or maths behind it) and the full version (that contains all 53 pages of my full methodology): Summary Paper: https://www.dropbox.com/s/35bia0e6ikh3zu7/The%20Science%20of%20the%20Spherus%20Magna%20System%20-%20Summary%20Paper.pdf?dl=0 Full Paper: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mxfb3igfxwoem5m/The%20Science%20of%20the%20Spherus%20Magna%20System%20-%20Full%20Paper.pdf?dl=0 Here is a preview of some of my results - a fully to scale map of the system!
  2. Metru nui, which was the most densely populated part of the matoran universe, and had about 1000 inhabitants, so if i had to guess, comoaring the size of metru nui to the rest of the universe, there would be around 5000 other matoran in the matoran universe. But that's just a theory - a Bionicle the- ok sorry about that. Let me know your opinion, if i missed something, you found a reliable source, or if you have your own theory. I also included a picture of the matoran universe so you could do your own comparison.
  3. Hey look! My first actual Bionicle Theory! This thought was actually inspired by the Korahkazi project's current thread in the board; however it's not actually related to the topic other than in the most basic sense - being about time passing in Bionicle - so rather than derailing that thread, I thought it better to start my own. It was just a thought that absolutely hit me when I saw their thread title, and I wanted to share it. So. For a long time now, there's been this discrepancy between early story material that said the 2001 to 2003 storyline took place over multiple years - most notably a text box early in comic #13 where Makuta himself says "For years the Toa have believed me defeated, banished from the island I once ruled." - and the later fact that the entire story that we see took place in a single year. This has always been regarded as an awkward retcon, but I'd like to posit that it could be Fridge Brillance when you think about it: nowhere, NOWHERE, does it say that time is measured the same way inside the GSR as it is outside. Let me explain. The GSR presumably runs on Spherus Magna time, since that's where it was built. Since the robot was specifically made to travel between various planets, it's likely that it would run on its own internal chronology rather than adapting to that of any world it visited; therefore a Matoran year on Metru Nui, or anywhere else within the robot, is presumably the same as a Spherus Magna year, however long that may be. But. The island of Mata Nui isn't inside the GSR, and therefore doesn't have to be subject to GSR time. It would be entirely reasonable, in fact, for the Turaga to devise a new time system based on Aqua Magna's day / year cycles, which are quite unlikely to be the same as Spherus Magna's - especially given that it used to be part of Spherus Magna that broke away in the Shattering, so would inevitably have fallen into a different orbit to Spherus Magna. If Agua Magna ended up in an orbit that takes it nearer to the system's sun than Spherus Magna, then its years - a planet's year being measured by how long it takes to revolve around it's sun - would be shorter, perhaps significantly so. So what I'm getting at is this: the Makuta was believed defeated for years statement was referring to Aqua Magna Years; i.e. the only reckoning of Bionicle time we knew about when it was written. These potentially being significantly shorter than a Spherus Magna Year - which, given the difference in year lengths between the planets in our own solar system (SOURCE), isn't an unreasonable assumption - it's entirely plausible that one Spherus Magna year takes multiple Aqua Magna years. Therefore yes, Makuta was believed defeated for multiple years: Aqua Magna Years. And also yes, the entire storyline from 01-08 took place in one year: one Spherus Magna Year. Neither statement is incorrect, they're just using different reckonings of time. Thoughts?
  4. Because I had nothing better do to, I decided to see if I could work out how fast someone wearing a Kanohi Kakama could run at, just out of pure curiosity. So, according to Tale of the Toa, Pohatu uses his mask of speed to travel from Po-Koro in Po-Wahi to Mount Ihu in Ko-Wahi in under a minute. This is the only time in canon that I can think of that gives us both a distance travelled and a timeframe for that travel when the Kanohi Kakama is used, so I wanted to see if I could use that to figure out what speed a Kakama user is capable of moving at. The official labelled map of the Island of Mata Nui puts the island’s length at approximately 357 Kio. A Kio is equal to 1.37km, so that means that the Island of Mata-Nui is approximately 489.09km long. I was able to then use this to count how many pixels that length represents in the official map of the island, which worked out at being 1480 pixels long. This meant that overall, this map is at a resolution of 330m per pixel (489.09km / 1480 pixels = 0.33 km or 330 meters). All I needed to do then was figure out the distance between Po-Koro and Mount Ihu, both of which are labelled on the map. Unfortunately, at this map’s scale it is impossible to tell the exact route that Pohatu would have taken and therefore it is not possible to take into account any twists and turns he may have taken along the way or take into account the change in elevation as he went up and down the mountains of Ko-Wahi on his way to Mount Ihu. I therefore simply took the straight-line distance for this calculation, as this would be the absolute minimum distance he would have had to travel. I also decided to put the time value at a full minute, as the book and BS01 do not give specifics, only that the journey took “under a minute” – so let’s just estimate it at exactly one minute for ease of use. By taking these numbers I won’t be able to get the actual speed Pohatu was going on this journey, but I will be able to calculate the bare minimum speed he would’ve needed to be travelling at, as any shortening of the timeframe or any additional distance that the actual journey would have taken would only increase the final speed measured. By drawing a line on the map from Po-Koro to Mount Ihu and then counting the pixels, I found that the straight-line distance between these two points was 386 pixels long, which works out at being 127,380 meters. The equation for speed is speed = distance / time, so all I needed to do was plug in the numbers: Speed = distance / time Speed = 127,380m / 60 seconds Speed = 2,123 meters per second That is an absolutely insane speed. That is over 6 times the speed of sound. And remember, this is the absolute bare minimum speed Pohatu could have been travelling at, meaning the actual speed of the Kakama is even faster than this, probably by a significant margin. I wanted to know how fast the Kakama was. Turns out it is fast.
  5. Ok, so I wanted to call this a theory, but is more conjecture that doesn’t technically deviate from canon. So, it’s really more of a headcanon, but here we go. According to BS01, the Nui-Stone was created by an unknown group of beings in the Matoran Universe for unclear reasons. When it is activated, it draws a small but steady amount of Toa Power from any Toa within a 3000 Kio radius to charge up the stone. A Toa can then access this to gain a massive power boost. Once these mysterious beings realized its destructive potential, they tried to destroy it, but they failed and it ended up in the hands of Toa Mangai Tuyet. I started thinking about the Nui-Stone and noticed it shares a remarkable similarity to another type of stone in the Matoran Universe – a Toa Stone. Think about it; both are stones that hold Toa Power in storage until they dispense that power into another being – Tuyet in the case of the Nui-Stone and Matoran destined to be Toa in the case of Toa Stones. I was also thinking about those mysterious beings that made the stone. Sure, it could be that they made the stone to create a more powerful Toa, and then regretted it when they realized just how well it worked. But I wondered, what if they were trying to create something else? I think the Nui-Stone was actually intended to be a supercharged Toa Stone. Made to draw a tiny bit of Toa Power from Toa throughout the Universe so as to create a Toa Stone with enough Toa Power within it to transform multiple Matoran into Toa at once when activated. I also think that there is enough evidence in the canon to say that it could have even been designed by the Great Beings as a failsafe for if the Matoran Universe ever suddenly needed a lot more Toa all at once. We know from things like the design of the Golden Armor being programmed into the Kanohi Ignika in case it was ever needed that the Great Beings would add the designs of their failsafes into the Universe to be actually created at a later date. We also know from the usage of the Staff of Artakha that there exists the technology in the Matoran Universe for a powerful object’s influence/power to be spread to the entire Universe. So, what I propose is this: the Great Beings program the design of the Nui-Stone into its creators, who then bring it into existence at a later date. The intention was that the stone would be activated and slowly charge up with Toa Power in case it was ever needed. If that day came, it would be taken to Metru-Nui and placed on the Toa Suva, from which its power would be spread across the Universe and transform destined Matoran into Toa all at once all over the Matoran Universe to help deal with whatever threat caused the Nui-Stone to need to be used in the first place. We already know the Toa Suva has the ability to use Toa Stones to transform individual Matoran into Toa, so I think it’s reasonable to say it could act like the cradle of the Staff of Artakha too and transform Matoran into Toa all over the Universe if a sufficiently powerful Toa Stone (e.g., the Nui-Stone) was placed upon it at a destined time. I think the fact that it could also be tapped into early to give an individual Toa such a massive power boost was an entirely unintentional side effect of its creation, and it was upon discovering this side effect that its creators unsuccessfully tried to destroy it. Extrapolating this line of thinking further, I think it was actually Tuyet’s destiny to bring the Nui-Stone to Metru-Nui and the Toa Suva so that it could be used if needed, but she didn’t know that was its original purpose. Her actions were in line with her destiny, but got twisted along the way. Still activating the stone in Metru-Nui, but not in the way that was intended. Maybe, if my theory is right and the story had continued, Tuyet could have finally achieved her destiny on Spherus Magna and rebuilt the Toa population given the fact that there were so few of them left by the time of the end of the storyline (and probably would have been even fewer after the Marendar plotline played out). What you do think?
  6. Alright, everyone. I thought it was time to make a thread to consolidate everything about a Hero Factory continuation, be it theories, wants, stuff, etc. There are already quite a few threads with smaller parts, but basically just throw all your ideas here. So far, just explore pages 1 and 2 of this forum and there's quite a lot of stuff. Anyway, my big thing would be a TT game, as I have FREQUENTLY stated in my previous posts. I already made a thread with some of my ideas, so you can check it out (but I'm not forcing you). For those of you who don't know (but I'm pretty sure you do know), TT, a.k.a. Traveller's Tales, have made almost all of the mainstream LEGO games since LEGO Star Wars (I think). You've got licensed serieseseses like Marvel, Batman, Star Wars and Harry Potter, and original LEGO works like Ninjago, Chima and City. The TT games are always great (almost finished Batman 1, and it's a blast) and I'm pretty sure there's at least one other person here who would like to have a TT Hero Factory game (even though, not be pessimistic or anything, it probably won't happen). Maybe you would want a double, triple or quadruple TV special, like Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Or another Secret Mission book? Or maybe a Hero Factory FM episode? Or an Amuzo mobile game (hey, I'm just throwing everything at this topic)? Really, there's so many options. Feel free to discuss them. I'd love to hear!
  7. Dark Maker (or Brain Maker) is probably the most mysterious villain in the HF universe. He's a very cunning and intelligent villain who has very good knowledge about robots and biological organisms. He somehow holds a grudge against the HF as stated in the Brain Attack episode. In this theory I will rethink the HF lore and analyze most of the characters. This might be a long read so be prepared! Let's start with what we know about Dark Maker: 1. He has an excellent understanding of robots and biological organisms. 2. He knows how to create robots and organisms. 3. He hates the factory. 4. He is the brain behind the breakout and the formation of the legion of darkness. Dark Maker could have been a robot manufacturer that built robots that protected people from criminals. Keep in mind that the Hero Factory is only 100 years old. The Dark Maker also has a mask identical to black phantom, voltix and speeda demon. In my Theory those villains are his creation. Voltix and Speeda Demon might have been robots that were built to protect people from evil. Basically Dark Maker earned his daily bread by manufacturing combat robots. When the HF was established, people prefered those Heroes over the those of Dark Maker. Hero Factory Heroes have quaza cores and are more powerfull than normal robots. The HF eventually won the competition and Dark Makers robots didn't sell anymore and got returned back to him. In order to survive and earn money for his basic needs DM had to sell his robots to crime lords and modified them to mercenaries. Rotor, xplode, meltdown, thunder and corroder might have been his creations too. Voltix and Speeda Demons memories got erased and they were sent to other criminals. Dark Maker wanted revenge on the HF and planned to destroy it. He built Black Phantom a robot who would represent himself. Then those events of the book Legion of darkness happened and Dark Maker had to make another plan. He seduced a unstable rookie (von ness) to his side and turned him into von nebula. He gave him the black hole staff that would be used for the breakout. Now that HF got canelled we sadly dont know if I was right with the theory
  8. I have theory that the villain that planned the breakout seduced von ness to the villain side and gave him the black hole staff (that would be used for the breakout). It could also explain why the drone was sent to new stellac city. the villain had set it up to kill stormer and thresher. He instructed von ness to leave the battlezone and join the evil side. The reason why he choose von ness because of those following reasons: 1. Von Ness was a very emotional target and those are the best to manipulate. 2. Von Ness used to be a hero and could have provided insider information 3. He could have been a spy but since the new stellac plot failed, it didnt work out. Now the question is how he was able to manipulate von ness. He could have told him lies about stormers and the HF. This could also explain why he has a grudge against stormer.
  9. Let me explain ... So there are obviously ridiculous amounts of parallels between G1 and G2, or not so much parallels as rehashes. But what if this wasn't just a marketing ploy, what if these connections actually hinted at something bigger? (Okay, they obviously don't, but it's pure headcannon from here on so sue me.) The way I see it, the whole of Gen-2 is actually a prequel to the original series. Ekimu is Artakha in disguise (this is far from big stretch, they both have the same mask and fulfil similar functions), and he created the whole of Okoto to test out the Toa Okoto (later to be Toa Mata) before deployment. The whole thing is one giant crash test. He knew they'd be up against Makuta, so he created a fake to serve as an enemy (along with fake matoran, fake adversaries, he's basically testing his creations). Nothing more to it really but it makes things very nice and neat in my head. Anyhooooo ...
  10. BS01's Unnamed Species List has a ridiculous number of sapient species in the MU. Many of them were first mentioned in the bios of the Barraki, OoMN, and DH and simply waved off as their own unique species. But for several years, it's been my fascination to condense this list into as few species as possible based on similar physical traits, powers, or histories. Many of the inconsistencies are easily explained by mutations or technology, or simply interspecies variations. Just as Matoran and Skakdi have elemental subspecies, many of these other species could be divided up in new ways. But before you go critiquing my decisions, please give the FAQs a read, as they address many of the common concerns. This blog entry is the product of three different revisions of this list, primarily my research but also that of others noted below. With the rearranging of the forums, I wanted to make sure to post it somewhere safe for mine and other's reference. Also I'm using Spoiler tags for ease of reading without really being sure that's okay, so let me know if it's not... Canon Barraki Other To be reclassified as Rahi FAQs
  11. System sets. That's right Bionicle G3 but as system. Here's why it is more possible than you think. 1. With the end of nexo knights there is now a open slot for a new system theme. Bionicle can cover adventure and tech easily. (I understand this is unlikely but potentially it could.) 2. Bionicle already has success in system back in G1 following three plotlines in set. 3. Retail stores would be more willing to sell traditional system sets over constraction. Since looking at Bionicle G2 sold poorly but other Lego system sets sell rather well. 4. If the system theme got a strong popularity to making go beyond 3 year term then Lego could introduce a constraction figure line to go with it. This is just an idea I've seen no one bring up. Though might as well share the idea. Please give your thoughts opinions and healthy criticism below.
  12. Obviously Bionicle was cancelled, not actually bought out... BUT! Just like Star Wars, what do you think would/could happen with Bionicle if a company like Disney were to buy the rights to the name and story line of Bionicle? Think it would go good or bad? Think they would let Lego be part of the design process/toy marketing? Or just completely own it and release their own action figures? Think we'd get continuations of the old story (G1) or an entirely new story? Think we'd have the whole works like cinematic movies and video games? I wanna hear what ya'll think would happen if Disney took over Bionicle (or at least just from a story line perspective, worked on it).
  13. Okay click bait title aside. The Matoran were designed not to be a perment species. Since all Matoran can have a Destiny which allows them to become a Toa then Turaga. In theory eventually all Matoran would become Turagas and Toas. What do you think?
  14. Since that horrible cancellation of Bionicle G2 happened, I started to compare Bionicle G2 to a movie franchise called The Amazing Spider-Man movies in 2012 and 2014 (you ever heard about them?). I noticed that there are some similarities between the two franchises, and they are: 1. Both are rebooted 2010s versions from the original 2000s versions that are modernized, used for younger audience, came around five years after the cancellations of the 2000s versions, got cancelled after two years since they started, and lasted shorter than their 2000s versions. 2. Each of both 2000s versions have good and bad reviews in their last installments before they got rebooted. 3. Companies who made the 2000s versions couldn't continue them, so that's why they made the reboots. 4. Each of the 2010s versions have two storylines. Bionicle G2 has two story years while The Amazing Spider-Man series has two movies. 5. Both the 2010s versions were planned to last longer, but they were stopped as they got cancelled. 6. Both the 2010s versions use different actors to play their recycled characters, as well as the characters are and look different from their 2000s versions. 7. Both the 2010s versions use new characters as well as the old ones. 8. Both have main protagonists who learn how to be a hero and how to use their powers. The Toa had to learn that they have to fight evil to save Okoto, use their weapons, elemental powers, and masks. Peter Parker from TASM learns to become Spider-Man after he got spider-powers by learning how to use them and it is his self-given duty to save and protect people from threats. 9. The heroes from both franchises change suits and get new equipment. 10. Most of each of the 2010s franchises' villains are new and the main antagonists are old ones from the 2000s franchises, but look different and have different lives. 11. The heroes get ordinary people to support them in their adventures. 12. The heroes determine to know the truth that is related and personal to them. The Toa want to learn about their past while Peter wanted to learn about his parents' disappearance. 13. The heroes learn something about their evil enemies' intentions. The Toa learned about the Skull Creatures wanting to steal their golden masks to steal their energy and Umarak the Destroyer seeking the pieces of the Mask of Ultimate Power. Peter learns about a secretly-corrupt company called Oscorp's intentions to do bio-engineering and genetic-altering. 14. Both the 2010s franchises have funny and agile heroes, who are Lewa and Spider-Man. 15. Both show more funny scenes than their 2000s counterparts. 16. The Lord of Skull Spiders and the Lizard from the first The Amazing Spider-Man movie are the first villains to be fought by the heroes, as well as they both attract creatures relating to them. The LoSS attracts the Skull Spiders while the Lizard attracts normal and smaller lizards. 17. Umarak is like the villains from TASM movies combined. Umarak is like Electro and the Rhino when he is hired by the main villain to help them (Umarak was hired by Makuta to get his Mask of Control while Electro and Rhino are hired by the Green Goblin to help him). The main villain also enhances them with things (Umarak got enhanced when Makuta used the Mask to turn him into his Destroyer while Harry Osborn (before he turned into the Green Goblin) gave Electro a suit to help him with his powers and Rhino with a giant metal suit to destroy Spider-Man). Umarak the Hunter is like the Green Goblin when he is a smart, green-armored guy who threatened to drop a good-hearted character that a hero cares off a tall structure in front of the hero (In this case, Umarak threatened to drop Ketar off a tall cliff in front of Pohatu while the Goblin threatened to drop a girl named Gwen Stacy from a tall tower in front of Spidey). When Umarak became the Destroyer, he is like the Lizard by being mutated with claws, Electro by being a mutated (never wanted to be mutated before the mutation happened) villain who has the most screen time than the other villains in the second installment and gets killed in the end, the Green Goblin by not wanting to be mutated into a freak, and the Rhino by being large and dangerous who appeared like that in the end of the second installment. 18. Pohatu and Spider-Man had to attempt to save beings that they cared from falling to their deaths. However, Pohatu saved Ketar while Spider-Man couldn't save Gwen, who is his girlfriend (Gwen died, and that was as traumatizing as Bionicle G1 and G2's cancellations). Plus, it's interesting that both Pohatu and Peter's names both start with a "P", and Ketar element, Stone, is the same as the actress who played Gwen, Emma Stone's last name. Lol. 19. Makuta is like the Rhino and Green Goblin combined. Makuta got mutated by the Mask of Ultimate Power while Harry Osborn was given a serum that turned him into the Green Goblin. They became stronger and got new armor and powers. They also both appear, fought and get defeated by the heroes and at the very end of the second installments and the entire stories (not too impressed, in my opinion). Makuta and Rhino are also big and last villains in the second installments and the entire stories to be fought by the heroes (Makuta got defeated while Rhino's battle with Spider-Man was never concluded sadly). 20. They both have a grudge against the heroes before they got mutated. Makuta was jealous of Ekimu, so he created the Mask of Ultimate Power and was trying to use it, but Ekimu stopped him by knocking the mask off from his face. Makuta later turned evil and wanted to defeat Ekimu and the Toa when he could get out of the Shadow Realm. Harry asked Spider-Man if Spider-Man could help him cure his disease, but Spidey declined, so Harry hated him and turned evil. 21. Stories from both the 2010s stories have shadowed villains who secretly serve as major threats to the heroes. Makuta is sort of like that before revealing his giant form while a man in the shadows in TASM movies works with Harry in creating the Sinister Six and defeating Spider-Man. 22. Both second installments sadly show major female characters with heroic hearts die in the end. In the 4th episode of The Journey to One, Gali died by having her soul sucked into the Shadow Realm, but the soul returned to her body, so she's alive again. Gwen, however, died from a fall from a tall clock building in the end of the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and stays dead (Poor girl. Why can't she be like Gali by being still alive? ). (To be honest, I originally thought that Pohatu is going to die instead of Gali because Gwen's actress, Emma Stone's last name is the same as Pohatu's element. Lol. Plus, Pohatu would have sacrificed himself to try to make up for his mistake of letting Umarak the Hunter take the Mask of Control when Umarak, as the Destroyer, proves too powerful for the Toa to defeat.) 23. Each of the rebooted franchises has both good and bad reviews and their stories are a bit rushed, which could be reasons why they are infamously cancelled. That really broke my heart twice. (crying in tears of sadness). When some people say that after their cancellations, they feel that the rebooted franchises could be sort of forgotten. Both rebooted franchises may have ended, but they may be able to have a future for their entire franchises in history. The Amazing Spider-Man series got cancelled because of mixed reviews on the second movie and Marvel Studios got back their Spider-Man movie rights from Sony as they both decided to share it, so Spider-Man could appear in Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe movie called Captain America: Civil War, which was released this year, which is two years from TASM series's cancellation. Spider-Man will also get his own MCU movie coming 2017. Marvel Studios always makes very successful movies and people love the new Spidey (the new actor was well), so they would make new Spider-Man movies more successful than the old ones. Bionicle G2 got cancelled for an unknown, possibly because of bad sales and the story being too simple and rushed. It is unknown if Bionicle could back after 2017 because we know that there won't be any new sets in that year, but due to my analysis on the Spider-Man movies, I made a theory that would enlighten you: Lego would be planning to make a G3 in possibly 2018 and this time, they would be feature some Bionicle characters (mostly likely the Toa Mata/Toa Masters) into a Lego cinematic universe. It would be The Lego Movie Cinematic Universe where they will have major roles or a different cinematic universe based on Lego in general and similar to Lego Dimensions (imagine Tahu, Preston Stormer from Hero Factory, Lloyd from Ninjago, Laval from Legends of Chima, Clay Moorington from Nexo Knights, Flain from Mixels, and Emmet from The Lego Movie working together to defeat a common threat Avengers-style?). This would be similar to how Spider-Man first appeared in the MCU. Or something similar to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie this year in a better way where the Toa fight and/or assist some characters from other Lego themes to face a common threat (Imagine Tahu fighting or assisting Preston Stormer or Kai from Ninjago BvS style?). Or Bionicle could reboot as its own theme before it could crossover with other Lego themes. Either way, Lego would make successful stories and themes, like they did with The Lego Movie, so let's all hope that same goes to Bionicle as much as Marvel Studios is to Spider-Man. So, what do you guys think of all this? Good comparisons? Find my theory possible that Bionicle could back as G3 that way?
  15. So, according to canon, there are skakdi of all elements, so do you think there are also skakdi of the element of light? Or perhaps do you think they're too destructive to exist/use their powers? If they exist how/would they be different from the others in any particular ways? Also, wouldn't that mean there could also be a skakdi of shadow? Thoughts?
  16. While following the current storyline and hearing input from the community, one issue commonly brought up is Umarak's ineptitude at capturing the Creatures, even after thousands of years. This theory, if true, may explain why that is, and why forging a mask of more than one element is so dangerous. Umarak came into being when the Creatures did, to balance the six elements with the darkness, or shadow. The reason he never caught them was because of this balance; in an almost yin yang fashion, neither the creatures nor Umarak could gain the upper hand, because the creatures were united against him, and the island's elements were in harmony. However, when Makuta made the MoUP, he upset the balance, and due to this upset in balance the island degraded, and the Creatures were divided, drawn to the areas where their element was the most prominent, to resume an uneasy game of cat and mouse with Umarak for years afterwards. However, while Ekimu did stop Makuta from further destabilizing the island, that initial destabilization did give Umarak an advantage. Shadow and Destruction, in my opinion in regards to this story, is that combination of elements forcibly wielded by one, while Creation and Life are represented by the individual elements each wielded by one, working together. Therefore, the existence of the MoUP slowly began to change the nature of Okoto, causing the natives to more heavily modify their regions to suit one element, which made the unity of elements on Okoto much weaker against the united forces of darkness. This, in turn, led to the eventual arrival of the Toa, to "balance the elements and shadow" again. But the unforeseen consequence of that was Umarak, the only fully alive user of shadow, gaining more power, to balance the power of the Toa AND Creatures, and this is why it is so important that the Toa and Creatures unite, so they can stand a chance against the shadow. Additionally, the Toa's arrival probably also boosted the abilities of Makuta, who is the only other known being in the Okotoverse that utilizes the shadow, and functions as a counterbalance. Well, that was a longer post than expected! In short, I think that the shadow element in this universe is a combination of the elements used by one, while the protagonists each wield one element, working together to balance the darkness. One quick correction: It is my opinion that Life or Light is represented by numerous beings working together, and this is the only way great power can be wielded for the good; Unity of the users, Duty to those they protect, and their Destiny on the horizon.
  17. This is something that has been in my head for a while now simply due to some pretty strange traits shown by this character, and that is this; Is Tamaru Actually a Misidentified Bo-Matoran? The reason why I think this is because it is said that Bo-Matoran dislike hights, and prefer to stay close to the ground, they enjoy water, whilst Le-Matoran hate it. We know that he wanted to be a part of the Gukko-Force, but failed to become one due to his fear of hights and flying, at least to my knowledge. We know that he likes to stay close to the ground and he enjoys being around and in water, it is an expressed detail about Bo-Matoran that they do enjoy these things too, as I've said. So what do you all think of this? Lets discuss it.
  18. Kopaka is Elvis Is the King of Rock and Roll also the King of Ice and Snow? Well, when was the last time Elvis Presley and Kopaka were seen in the same room together? Don’t you find it convenient that Kopaka can never seem to recall where he came from? I have been asking myself these very questions for the last 15 years of my life and I have concluded that yes, Kopaka is in fact Elvis Presley. Allow me to explain. Elvis Presley allegedly died in 1977. This gave Elvis 24 years to transform himself into the toa that we now call Kopaka. That is plenty of time for his transformation to take place. While this fact is far from conclusive, it is important to note the methods one takes when disappearing from society and how one hides their identity. 5 Methods of Disappearing Be prepared to start over from scratch- Kopaka started with nothing but his mask, shield, and ice sword.Practice introducing yourself with your new name- "I am Kopaka, and I work under no command" as opposed to, “I’m Elvis baby”Adopt new mannerisms, dress, and behaviors- Cold personality as opposed to charming and outgoingMove far away from friends, family and employers- Went from living at Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN 38116 to a nonspecific location in Ko-KoroKeep a low profile- While some may consider being a toa of ice a fairly high profile job occupation, Kopaka was known for often keeping to himself and based on statistics from Google trends, the amount of searches for Kopaka from 2005-Present is negligible to that of Elvis Presley’s.http://i.imgur.com/N4ygrOX.png However, despite how convincing the Kopaka persona may be, there are a number of instances in which he has slipped up. For example, in the pictures provided at the end of this report you’ll notice that Elvis, despite his efforts in hiding his true identity, often still possesses many of the same mannerisms as he did as a rock n’ roll hero. You’ll also find that he has a hard time abandoning his classic white color scheme (which progressively gets worse as you’ll notice he started adopting flashier colors such as blue and gold). Now prepare yourself, because this next point may send chills down your spine. In the year 1961, Elvis wrote the song “I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell.” This statement is such a dichotomy from the Kopaka we know today that it’s uncanny. If you notice in the 2015 animation shorts, Kopaka, after allegedly slipping, quickly (almost too quickly) stated, “I didn’t slip!” His haste to correct the doubt in anybody’s mind that he might of slipped only suggests that he is trying to alleviate any suspicion that he might be Elvis (who we know has no problem admitting to slipping). Now this may seem conclusive, but we shouldn’t jump to conclusions too quickly. During the animation, we don’t actually see his feet and his arms move in a manner that doesn’t quite resemble slipping. That is because he didn’t actually slip. In all actuality, Kopaka was breaking into a dance floor move that is commonly seen in many of Elvis’ live performances. After quickly realizing his mistake, he claims that he didn’t slip in order to fool anyone watching into believing that he did in fact slip. However, I am not the first to have come to this conclusion. There is one other who, for many years now, has been spearheading the research of the Kopaka/Elvis conspiracy. And that man is none other than Corny Rempel himself! The voice actor of Kopaka in Bionicle: The Journey to One. Rempel has been an award winning Elvis tribute for 15 years (the same amount of years it’s been since Kopaka first introduced himself). In order to fully understand Elvis’ motives behind faking his death Rempel sought to impersonate Elvis, to live life as he did, so that he may better understand him. Once he was convinced that he fully understood Elvis as we was, Rempel went on to impersonate him again, but this time as who he became: Kopaka Uniter of Ice. Just as with his Elvis impersonation career, he excelled in capturing and taking on the role as Kopaka. It only took 2 episodes for him to come to his conclusion. Even though he still has yet to reveal his findings to the public, he did hint at it after being unable to secure an interview with Spirit on the BS01 podcast. This is likely because he is still putting the data together and preparing it for publication. While this may be a lot to take in for most, and for many it may be too much, I encourage you to put aside your emotions for the cold-hearted and sometimes arrogant ice hero and accept the fact that this has all been a facade. Elvis knew that darkness was rising and that the only way he could fight the Makuta and prevent his reign of terror was to fake his own death and take on the role as a toa of ice. Instead of being angry with him, you should respect him for giving up his life as a hero of the people to become a hero for the people. Below are the undeniably conclusive images that show proof that Kopaka and Elvis are in fact the same person. Pay close attention to the similar color schemes and mannerisms between the photos. You'll notice that regardless of what form Kopaka is in, he still struggles to hide his taste in style. http://imgur.com/gallery/Vm8ya
  19. The Mask of Ultimate Power was forged using all the elements. The creatures of Okoto were formed using an element for each. So when Mukuta created the MOUP in his anger, the mask became alive and fed off his dark thoughts. Upon wearing the mask it seized control of Mukuta and took over his body. After Ekimu managed to knock the MOUP off his brother's face, releasing Mukuta from it's control, the brothers were knocked into a deep sleep and the MOUP was "lost" to the shadows... The MOUP has summoned Umurak to find the Mask of Control and capture all the creatures. Succeeding the MOUP fuses them all together (Umurak, creatures, and beasts) to form it's own extremely overpowered body. Ekimu realizing they are no match for the "Master of Ultimate Power", comes up with a plan to unmake the MOUP. He connot do it on his own however, so Ekimu and the Toa go in search for Mukuta. Awakening Mukuta, Ekimu reveals his plan to use the Mask of Time. The Mask Makers will each use a half of the mask to trap the MOUP in a time paradox to dimensionally fragment it. Meanwhile the Toa use there combined power to contain him. Some other ideas: During the final battle with the MOUP, Ekimu and Mukuta are fused, because of a time anomaly caused by the Mask of Time. In the final battle the Toa are joined by other incarnations of themselves to take down the MOUP (this could connect G1 and G2). After the final battle the Toa remember who they are. They are the "formers" of the island of Okoto.Potential Sets: Ekimu and Mukuta (each wearing a half of the Mask of Time) combiner set. Both halves of the Mask of Time can be connected to form one mask.Master of Ultimate Power titian set. Colors black and trans. red. (Biggest Bionicle set ever released)Alternate Toa sets (possibly based off some G1 sets). I just wanted to share my thoughts. Please share your thoughts in the comments below.
  20. Dangers of Okoto A Comparative Analysis of the Physiological and Cultural Distinctions Between Various Antagonistic Forces ---------------------------------- An introductory Overview After the initial report on the native sophants of Okoto, the preliminary investigative team discovered evidence of an invading force. Although they could not interfere directly with the situation, they were able to follow the actions of a group of warriors that the Morehu summoned, and furthermore capable of observing the various entities with which they battled, and furthermore had encounters with two individuals who, thankfully, decided against exposing them to the natives--mostly because they themselves were not willing to be exposed. What follows is a recount of the five various species, and their known behaviors: the Skull Spiders, the Lord, the Scorpios, the Eirian, and the Kaukino. Note that the last two names come from the individuals the investigative team spoke with, and are the only members of this list to be confirmed sophants themselves. There is also one last addition to the Morehu report, further detailed at the end of this. Part 1: Skull Spiders The Skull Spiders became a menace to the greater Okoto population after the Lord of Skull Spiders somehow obtained the Golden Mask of the Skull Spiders. Despite their name, Skull Spiders appear to be more closely related to the insect-like lifeformes of Okoto than the anthropod life forms; they only have six limbs, two of which are adapted specifically to lock into the telepathic "ports" of the Morehu and other creatures with similar structures. From what could be determined, the natural use of these limbs is to imbue the victim with a strong urge to protect Skull Spider nests; however, at the time of the investigation, the Lord of Skull Spiders was using the Golden Mask to alter that compulsion into destruction of Masks of power. The natural behavior of Skull Spiders is not clear, again due to the interference of the Lord, but from observation and conversation the swarming behaviors they exercised during the investigation is quite unnatural. Skull Spiders come in four known colors: Red, Green, Silver, and Blue. Red Skull Spiders appear to be the rarest breed, despite having the largest range of location; it is unclear at this time whether they have any unique abilities or are simply powerless mutants. Green Skull Spiders tend to make their home in the south-west regions of Fire and Earth; the signature coloring is given by a sub-dermal chemical which reacts to the presence of life forms, which allows the Skull Spiders to locate potential hosts even through the rock of the Earth region tunnels and the thick smog of the Fire region. Silver Skull Spiders prefer the northern Ice and Water regions, where packets of air in their carapaces lighten their weight to a point where they can move incredibly swiftly. The Blue Skull Spiders, whose coloration is due to the thickness of their shell, dominate the middle range of Okoto; while the ones in the Region of Jungle resemble other Skull Spiders aside from their color, the ones in the Region of Stone have a unique mutation that gives them a pointed, but non-venomous stinger tail. Of particular interest is the Skull Spider's post death usability. The body of a Skull Spider retains the telepathic compulsion that it had in life--anyone foolish enough to wear a Skull Spider as a trophy might very well find themselves with an urge to protect the nest of the creature, even if the creature had no nest. Furthermore, it is apparently possible to 'train' a Skull Spider to give a different set of instructions--indeed, one of the Eirian individuals the team observed had been forcefully put under the control of the Lord through use of a Silver Skull Spider. This alone makes the species incredibly dangerous in the hands of a determined or cunning individual; with the addition of the Golden Mask of Skull Spiders being able to somehow direct them, it is plausible that they were artificially created by some unknown force for just that specific purpose. Thankfully, the summoned warriors were able to remove the Golden Mask from the claws of the Lord, rendering them mere pests.
  21. Tribes of Okoto A Comparative Analysis of the Physiological and Cultural Distinctions Between Six Island Tribes ---------------------------------- An introductory Overview The island of Okoto is host to a number of unique species, including at least one extant sophant race and possible a number of others. It is, however, this singular race that is to be the focus of this research document, as most future contact with the world is expected to happen with them. The villagers of Okoto, who call themselves Morehu, were at one point in their history part of an island-wide empire of great wealth and mystical power. However, due to the mishandling of an artifact and the resultant tragedy, most modern Morehu live in scattered tribes on the island. These tribes are affiliated with the region of the island in which they live; the Jungle Tribes live in the Jungle Region, the Stone Tribes live in the Stone Region, and so on. Morehu are carbon-based reptomammals with metallic compounds throuough their body, most notably in their bone structure. They have an average height of 4.5 feet, exhibiting a basic bipedal dual armed body plan with a singular head and no extended spine. Their hands have five digits, one of which is opposable; while this is also true of their feet, two of their digits have fused into a large “middle toe” and the opposable digit is usually used for balance. The smaller scales on a Morehu’s hands, feet, head, and chest usually appear silver, but as they grow larger on the limbs and main body they take a more blackish hue. The musculature of their barrel forms a distinct synthetic abdomen appearance, with a circular pattern over their heart and piston-like veins running from their ribs to their pelvis; almost all Morehu wear chest armor that mimcs and exaggerates these natural qualities. Morehu faces can best be described as a strong-jawed, hollow cheeked scowl with their eyes exhibiting refractive qualities and ranging from ice-blue to pale yellow in color. Their diet, while technically omnivorous, appears to be mostly plant based with the occasional lucky kill thrown in. This is largely out of necessity rather than preference, as the infrastructure for supporting different diets has collapsed with the empire. While they do have a noselike bone, the nostrils are rather simple; a combination of scent organs and taste buds can be found on complicated structures located on their cheeks. The hearing organs of the Morehu are drumlike enclosed ears, located just under a pair of “port” organs that allow limited telepathic contact. Most Morehu will consistently wear masks to protect these “ports” from access, and a number of masks actually incorporate a level of telepathically controlled mystical power. While the above is true of all Morehu populations, the varied regions of Okoto have resulted in minor divergences, both culturally and physiologically. The following sections are designed to elucidate on these differences, and furthermore examine the reasons they exist. ((The above is the first part of a seven part series, based on close observation of the Protector models.))
  22. I know you might say that it's because of the sales but why the sales were dropping? I know the story was complex but, I think it's that the story was based on the mask of life. The idea was good but it was the same thing each year. It might also be the build. It was the same body build and the same weapons each time! When BIONICLE started, it was a "Mask Hunt" for the Toa and the kids. In 2004, the story was more of "Disk Hunt". Then, it was just the same "Mask of Life Hunt". I think that BIONICLE's ending was supposed to be because of the same purpose of the heroes. What do you think? Reply to this post about your theories!
  23. Ok this is a bit of a bugbear for me. We never have seen the master of creation (by that I mean the mask not the MU) all we know is he is taller than a Toa/Glatorian. The only other clue we got was from the fact that Karzahni Is most likly built like him. Well Karzahni as he was before he went insane and rebuilt himself. I've had little luck finding a draw interpretation of Artakha and I'll be having him in my Comic collab. Thanks to gen 2 part of my problem is taken care of though. The Mask of Creation design is most likly what it looked like in both gens. But beyond that what does Artakha look like. I'm thinking a mix of Ekimu and a Glatorian. Also with the grey green armor. Anyone got a better take?
  24. I don't know if anyone has started a discussion on this or not (I didn't see one), but I am intrigued by the planets that have been showing up in the sky through various places; toy boxes, story videos, magazines, etc. From episode 1 on the website, there is a fresco or mural that seems to show the Masters descending from some sort of celestial bodies. Furthermore, these "planets" seem to have a similar color scheme to the Masters. Could this mean that there are more Toa-like or villager-like beings living on the planets? Perhaps the story will move beyond the confines of Okoto at some point. Along the same line, what relation do the skeletal villains we saw at NYC to the planets and/or toa? I'd be interested in anyone's thoughts.
  25. 1. The Skull Spiders are part of the natural landscape of Okoto. This my be an "argument from ignorance" thing going. But somehow I doubt that the MoUP has the power to give life, only to corrupt life that exists (as witnessed with Makuta). So IMO the spideys would have to exist before the Ekimu incident. 2. If a creature (or perhaps even a villager) dies, it comes back as a Skull Spider. This sounds rather weird, but if a few small "Rahi" die and become Skull Spiders every so now and again, they wouldn't amass a huge army of them, presuming that a few of them get destroyed/eaten every so often. But if there was a massive shockwave to kill of a huge number of them at once, then a huge army of them could appear and become a problem. 3. Larger creatures, upon their death, become the Lord of Skull Spiders and similar villain-type-things. Given the normal rate of death, there probably would only be one of them at a time to direct the Spiders and keep them away from the villages. Now there are a bunch of them, and they could be mad at the villagers for causing their death via mask. And they want the masks for themselves to avoid something like that from happening again. I'm sure you can find a hole or two in this spiderweb. Go!
