  1. Does anyone by any chance keep any parts of their original Toa Mahri boxes? Particularly the most disposable part—the plastic blister? I'm looking to replace a few of mine that have issues, as well as assemble full boxes for Jaller, Matoro and Kongu, if that's even possible. Thanks.
  2. Hi, guys! I know that Bionicle had ended a year ago sadly, but let’s be happy about Bionicle for something else. You see, this year, 2017, is the 10th anniversary of Bionicle’s 2007 storyline. I know that this year that we got the music album for the movie, Bionicle: Mask of Light’s 14th anniversary, but if you think this isn’t enough for this year, then let’s celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2007 storyline. That would enlighten you more. Let me tell you the 2007 storyline: The 2007 storyline is about the Toa Inika’s quest to find the Kanohi Ignika, aka the Mask of Life, continuing by going into the sea. It starts off when Matoro successfully got the Kanohi Ignika, aka the Mask of Life, in the 2006 storyline, since the Mask has a mind of its own, doesn’t want to be used in the island of Voya Nui while a hostile Rahi called the Kardas Dragon makes Matoro let go of the Mask. It flies to the sea around Voya Nui while the Toa Inika follow it. However, they can’t get into the water, but their ally, Axonn, shows a way to get there by leading the Toa to the Cord, which is under the island. The Mask falls onto the sea floor. In the sea, there is an underwater city called Mahri Nui, which is near the Cord, and it is inhabited by Matoran. A Po-Matoran named Dekar notices the Mask. A group of evil and mutated warlords based on sea creatures, called the Barraki, notice the Mask as well, and plans to get it to defeat the Great Spirit Mata Nui and take over the Matoran Universe. Long ago, the Barraki were once normal people who rules some parts of the Matoran Universe, but they later on rebelled against the Great Spirit, but thry were stopped by the Brotherhood of Makuta and were sent to a prison called the Pit. However, when the Great Cataclysm happened, they escaped, but a magical substance called the Pit Mutagen mutated the Barraki into sea-creature-based monsters that only breathe water, so they’re trapped underwater. They think that the Mask can reverse all that, too, so they are going to get their hands on it. They lead armies of various sea creatures that they’re based on. The Barraki also threaten people from Mahri Nui. When Dekar is having the Mask, it uses its incredible powers, which cause Dekar to believe that the Mask is too dangerous for anyone to have, so he wants to destroy it. However, Barraki also notice Dekar having the Mask, so they want to take it from him, but he is defending himself. Also however, the Barraki’s leader, Pridak, successfully gets the Mask, but it is using its powers. When the Toa Inika arrived to the bottom of the Cord that leads them to Mahri Nui, the Mask transforms them into their new underwater forms called the Toa Mahri. The team gets newly transformed weapons and masks, but their elemental powers no longer are mixed with lightning, making them normal, and the team only breathe water. That’s the winter 2007 part of the story. Here is the summer part: After the transformation, the Toa meet with Mahri Nui’s people and the Toa say that they will protect the people from the Barraki. The Toa find powerful guns called the Cordak Blasters, and they go look for the Mask of Life. When the Mask noticed the Dekar’s life is in danger, it saves his life by transforming him into a duplicate of another being named Hydraxon, who was killed during the Cataclysm. Hydraxon’s memories bury Dekar’s memories, so the duplicate thinks that he’s the real Hydraxon. He is also the jailer of the Pit, so he goes searching and recapturing escaped prisoners. He captures Matoro and puts him in jail. Along the way, the Makuta of Metru Nui, in his Antidermis form and who got out of the Piraka’s damaged Antidermis tank, finds one of Hydraxon’s robots called the Maxilos, which guard the Pit, and possesses it like a ghost, making the robot as his new “body”, his disguise to avoid being noticed by his enemies, and container for his Antidermis. When he finds Matoro, he frees him because he wants to help him, even though that Makuta is evil. He tells Matoro to reanimate a dead Toa named Tuyet, who got killed during the Cataclysm, which Makuta caused, and get a magical stone called the Nui Stone. However, a tyrant named Karzahni, who is looking for the Toa Mahri, who he abused when they were once Matoran, notices the group and destroys Tuyet. Makuta defeats Karzahni and tells Matoro that in order to save Mata Nui from death, he and the Toa Mahri have to destroy the Cord in order to do it. Then, Makuta and Matoro separate. While the Toa Mahri are fighting the Barraki, when Hydraxon notices the Mask, he remembers from Dekar’s memories that he believes that the Mask is dangerous, so Hydraxon tries to destroy it, but he is stopped by Hahli. Along the way, when a tiny Rahi called a Gadunka touches the Mask, it enlarges the creature into the size so big that it can eat a person. The Gadunka believes that the Mask should be its, so he goes to get and keep it to itself. Jaller tries to get the Mask, but is stopped by Hydraxon while Matoro freezes Makuta to stop him from doing planned bad things. Then, Jaller accidentally frees Makuta from his icy prison by using Jaller’s fire powers. Later, Hydraxon and Makuta fight each other, allowing the Toa to get the Mask again. While the Barraki are having a problem with each other about one of them betraying the others, the Toa evacuated Mahri Nui’s people, so they can destroy the Cord. Before they do, they fight against the Gadunka and its two giant allies. The Toa defeat them before Hydraxon shows up to confront the Toa. The Toa convince Hydraxon that they are not criminals and they need the Mask for their good deed, so Hydraxon lets them go. The Toa destroy the Cord by using their Blasters, so the island of Voya Nui, which the Cord connected to Mahri Nui, sinks into the water, destroying Mahri Nui along the way. The Barraki notice Makuta, so they fight and defeat him by destroying the Maxilos robot that he is possessing, but he disappears after that. The Barraki then go after the Toa for the Mask. Matoro tries to find somewhere where he can use the Mask to save Mata Nui’s life, but he notices that Mata Nui is dead. Matoro feels very sad. However, he doesn’t lose hope, so he goes to find a way to revive Mata Nui while the other Toa buy Matoro some time by fighting the Barraki. Matoro goes to a waterfall, which Voya Nui was heading, where the Mask tells him to wear it. When the Mask shows Matoro that his friends are in danger because of the Barraki, Matoro uses its power to transport the other Toa to safety by taking them to Metru Nui and have them breathe both air again and water in order to save their lives from the Barraki. Then, the Mask also tells him that he has to sacrifice his life to use the Mask’s power to revive Mata Nui. Matoro does so, so Mata Nui is revived, and the whole Matoran Universe is saved. Everyone in there is happy, but when Turaga Vakama tells the Toa Mahri about Matoro’s fate, they feel sad about him. The people of Metru Nui commemorate Matoro for his heroic actions and make a statue of him to remember him as a great hero who saved everyone. Meanwhile, the Toa Nuva meet a guy named Artakha, who gives them new armor and then teleports them to a new place. The end of the 2007 storyline, and that part about the Toa Nuva being in the new place is where the 2008 storyline started. To celebrate, let me ask you this: What are your fond memories about the storyline and/or what do you like about it? For me, I like the Barraki. They look very cool, including that the fact that they are based on different sea creatures. It’s interesting that 2007 is where canister sets started to look different from each other from that on rather than having the same body type like in 2001-2006. I like the new pieces that look like the sea creatures’ parts, and I like how the Barraki look like sea creatures much. The eye pieces are neat as you can plug them into the Barraki’s heads. The mandibles are neat as you can open and close them. Their weapons are cool, but their Squid Launcher is hard to use to shoot Sea Squids. I also wish that the Barraki could have mouths that open and close. The Sea Squids look cool. I like their yellowish-orangish and bluish-greenish colors. Plus, it’s neat that anyone who has Squid Launchers can have clip pieces that store the Squids. One thing about the Squids, though, is that they look more like leeches than squids, so it’s weird to call them Squids, you see. Kalmah is neat because he is based on a squid, has two giant tentacles, and has three eyes. Takadox has glow-in-the-dark pieces, and he has nice knives that look like a mantis’ claws. I like the red spikes, too. He is quite the tallest of the Barraki. One thing about him, though, is that head is a bit hollow. Ehlek looks very cool because of his green spikes and talons. The talons are like Wolverine’s claws from Marvel. However, he doesn’t have a lower mouth. Carapar looks very cool, too, because of his giant claws and new armor pieces. The use of of the color, yellow, is good. However, Carapar doesn’t have a lower mouth, either, and he doesn’t have another claw. Mantax looks neat because of his claws, red spikes, and his upper body looking like a manta ray, but, again, he doesn’t have a lower mouth, and his arms look uneven. Pridak looks very cool because of his fins, blades, long feet, and the red blotches on his white pieces. The small sets look neat. I like the Matoran’s blades and launchers. The Hydruka look cool because they sort of look like scorpions with launchers on their tails. Nice teeth on them, too. The blue Hydruka has a nice glow-in-the-dark as well. The Toa Mahri look awesome, as they look like commandos with giant cannons. I like their breathing tubes, which make the Toa look like that they adapted to water. The blasters look cool, but what’s troubling about them is that you can’t shoot the ammo from them unless you loosen the ammo in the cannons. Jaller looks cool, and he has a nice sword. It’s neat that he has a Hannah crab to be his animal sidekick that hold his blaster. Hahli looks amazing, and she has a nice mask, wing-like fins on her back, and that giant claw of hers. I am not too fond of the green secondary color, though, because it makes her look like a Toa of the Green rather than a Toa of Water. Kongu looks awesome because he looks like a commando with two blasters. I like his mask because it’s neat that he has a green bulb-like thing attached to the mask. Hewkii looks very cool because of his giant blade in his left hand, blades on his right arm, mask, spikes on his thighs, and chains. However, how he wears his mask in his set is weird, and his arms look uneven. Plus, where’s his right hand? Nuparu looks cool. I like his shield. However, he has some restrictions on his wrists and ankles. Matoro looks cool (Get it, because he’s the Toa of Ice? Lol! ), as he has those big claws and giant black tubes. However, his arms look uneven, again. I like Hahli’s, Nuparu’s, and Matoro’s visors because they are neat. But, why do they have red eyes? Now, the large sets. Nocturn looks awesome and beautiful! I mean, this dude that four arms, many glow-in-the-dark pieces, spikes, bulky-ness, transparent blue pieces, swords, a Squid Launcher, and a tentacle, man! The Gadunka looks very cool, as its head is so big that its can eat a person and has a lot of pointy teeth. It’s neat that the Gadunka set uses Ehlek spikes for the teeth. I like the claws, glow-in-the-dark head, use of the blue and silver pieces, and it’s cool that it has a Squid Launcher. One thing I find weird about its set is the neck because it’s very thin. Hydraxon looks awesome because of his various weapons. I like his poseable and clawed hands. Maxilos is mighty great because of his mask, Titan-size, big sword, claws, and Cordak Blaster. I like his flexible torso. Spinax looks great because of his spikes. His head would look like that you could use it to make a seventh Barraki. Lesovikk looks cool because of his blade and shoulder pads. His Sea Sled looks cool, too, as it has a Cordak Blaster mounted in it and the landing gear. It’s like Takanuva and Ussalnui set in 2003. Karzahni looks awesome, as he has chains, spikes, those Takadox knive pieces on his torso, clawed and spikes hands, armor, and cape. His head/mask looks cool because of the horns and spikes, but why can’t he have a one-piece plastic version of his mask? I like the shades of green on him. One thing that I find weird about him, though, is how his neck is built. Sarda and Ibris look cool, like the other two Matoran sets in the winter half of 2007. I like their unique blades, claws, and masks. Their underwater trap looks amazing because of the spikes and its function to trap Karzahni. The playsets, well, look great. It’s cool that some of the Rahi can be used a vehicles for the Toa Mahri to use. They have great weapons and functions. The Barraki have cool-looking mutated sea animals that they have for soldiers. However, not every minfigure, who are based on the Toa Mahri and Barraki, are equal. There is no minifigure for Carapar. All of their heads are messed up. Plus, not all 12 of the characters are in one set, like the one in 2006. Next, the combo models. The Ehlek-Carapar-Mantax one, aka the Pit War Tortoise, looks very cool, but it has a weird neck and stiff points on its ankles. The Kalmah-Takadox-Pridak one, aka Zyglak, looks amazing! It looks like a lizard well! The Carapar-Mantax-Nuparu-Matoro combo, aka the Manutri, looks very cool because it has both a Squid Launcher and two Cordak Blasters, man! It looks kind of cute, too. Too bad that there are combiners for the other Toa Mahri or the large sets. As for the story and media, I think the story is very good. It’s been told through comics, novels, and online serials. The Barraki are cool characters, and they have some good character development. I feel bad that they got mutated into monsters after they escaped from prison. It’s interesting that they don’t get along or others, similar to the Piraka. I see that Brutaka was trying to team up with the Barraki, but they betrayed him, just like the Piraka. It’s not like in Marvel where there are the Sinister Six. Plus, Takadox was secretly a traitor to the Barraki as he was a servant to the Brotherhood of Makuta, the very people who stopped the Barraki from trying to conquer the Matoran Universe before they got imprisoned in the Pit. The Barraki have very cool powers, like Carapar with his super-strength and Takadox with his ability to hypnotize people. It’s also cool that some of their armies have some Rahi from 2002. Plus, each of the Barraki is from his own species of people. I wish there is a seventh Barraki, though. Nocturn is a cool guy. He may be dumb, but he is cool. Dekar is a troubled guy who didn’t know how to handle the Mask of Life. He could’ve just hide it or give it to the Toa Mahri. I felt bad that he was in danger, so the Mask was trying to the poor guy by turning him into a duplicate of Hydraxon. It’s sad that the original one died. It’s also sad that Dekar is currently trapped in the duplicate’s mind, so the duplicate can’t remember that he was Dekar. Dekar’s friends must be worried about the poor guy. This Hydraxon acted like a stubborn jerk he believed that all strangers are escaped prisoners without letting them prove their innocence. The Toa Mahri has a hard time convincing this guy. Makuta is a cool dude. He’s like a ghost. I get that he is trying to be nice to Matoro by helping him out with saving Mata Nui’s life, but he does have an evil move in his sleeve about this. Plus, this guy doesn’t want any opponent to mess with him. The Toa Mahri are great characters with very good character development. Hewkii is grateful that he learned swimming lessons from Hahli. Hahli is a clever hero who knows what to do in order to help her team. Jaller, Kongu, and Nuparu are good characters. They all are good friends to each other. I feel bad they are too are stuck being underwater because they only breathe water. Now, here came Matoro. This dude too was conflicted, but he knew what is the right thing to do. Although he should’ve not talk to evil strangers, he was still a good guy. This dude never gave up on reviving Mata Nui and saving the Matoran Universe. I feel very sad that he sacrificed his own life to use the Mask of Life’s power to revive Mata Nui. Before he died, he also saved his friends from the Barraki by bring them to Metru Nui and make them able to breathe both air again and water. Matoro was such a very great hero. He saved everybody in the Matoran Universe. Though, it’s sad that he died. (crying in tears) I feel bad for Lesovikk for the fact that he lost his team and based himself for it. This also makes him want to kill his enemies, which is against the Toa Code. Sarda and Ibris are good characters. They are good friends to each other and Lesovikk. Karzahni is a cool villain. He doesn’t want anyone to mess with him, and is ruthless. I felt bad that Karzahni was driven insane by Teridax when his mind was damaged by Teridax. It’s cool to see the Piraka again for a brief moment. They got mutated into snakes, and fought the Toa Mahri before they get taken away by Axonn. It’s neat to hear about the Toa Nuva’s adventures during the events of the 2007 storyline. They have been doing some strange and good stuff to get ready for the Great Spirit. Lesovikk and Karzahni May have their own thing with each other, but they could’ve get more involved with the 2007 storyline. Lesovikk could’ve made new Toa friends with the Toa Mahri, and the Toa would try to help him feel better. The Matoran duo would help the Toa, too. Karzahni would also help the Barraki get the Mask of Life and defeat the Toa Mahri, so Karzahni would have more ruling power and take the Toa Mahri as his prisoners again. Makuta could’ve fought the Toa team as well. There are a lot of things that make me feel annoyed. That Bionicle Legends about the Toa Inika’s travels in the Cord shouldn’t have cancelled. It would be nice to look at their adventures more. I heard that Nuparu was supposed to have his Aqua Blaster Blade and Carapar with his two claws in their sets, so these should’ve happened. Kongu should’ve kept his melee combat weapon, which is transformed from his Laser Crossbow. Plus, brown ain’t on the “Stone” characters much. Sad. I have no idea how did these happen. It would be cool to see a set for the mutated Brutaka. Plus, there should have been a combined set similar to the Vezon and Kardas set. Too bad there wasn’t. (Though I would imagine that if that could happen, it would be a mix of the Gadunka, Hydraxon, and Maxilos and Spinax set, and this mix would be a powerful and giant Rahi or a warrior). It would also be nice to see the outcome of that fight between Brutaka and Maxilos. The online serials were introduced in 2007. I thought they are cool as they tell more stuff in the storyline. I wish there could have been a sequel to Bionicle Heroes in 2006. (Though if it would happen, it would be based on the 2007 storyline) So, guys, what are your fond memories of the storyline, what do you like about it, what’s your favorite 2007 set, favorite character(s) in 2007, favorite moment in the storyline, what things remind you of the 2007 storyline, and/or how would you celebrate it? For me, well, my favorite sets are Kalmah, Ehlek, Nocturn, Jaller, Hahli, Kongu, Gadunka, Hydraxon, Maxilos and Spinax, and Karzahni, and my favorite characters are Jaller, Hahli, Matoro, Kalmah, Takadox, Pridak, Makuta, and Hydraxon. The things that remind me are: 1. Hero Factory’s Breakout storyline and the part in there about Furno fighting and recapturing Jawblade. 2. The Serpentine from Ninjago being released from their prison to terrorize people and do something horrible along the way (the Barraki) 3. The Hypnobrai (Takadox) 4. Lego’s Atlantis theme 5. The Lizard from Marvel (Zyglak) 6. That scene in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 1999 where there is this underwater city. 7. That one part in a Star Wars TV series called Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2008-2014.
  3. During this year's spring break, I, being a certified SCUBA diver, took advantage of this year's tenth anniversery of the Mahri Nui storyline, which as you all know took place underwater. I brought with two of the 2007 Bionicle sets, Toa Mahri Matoro and the Barakki Ehlek down to the Bahamas and on St. Patrick's Day brought both of them 15 feet into the depths and took several pictures of both hero and villian in various poses. It was a huge hit in Bionicle fan groups on FaceBook, so I am sure that you guys on BZPower will love it. Enjoy. Sorry for some blurriness, it was because I took these pictures through my iPhone encased in a waterproof bag. Don't worry, I still have that Ignika.

One The shadow of the Kanohi Dragon passed over the eleven Toa as it flew overhead, deciding whether to continue being a pest or to eliminate the pests below. While it made up its mind, Toa Hagah and Toa Mahri alike were sweating it out in the fiery inferno which raged in the surrounding plains, gripping their tools tightly. Far to the north, a path of destruction loomed in the dragon’s wake, as it used its fiery breath on the land. The Toa were determined to stop the destruction right here, but the battle had been a shaky one—the Kanohi Dragon was a more formidable beast than any Rahi any of them had ever faced, and they wondered if there was any hope of taking it down. “Behemoth creatures with loads of armor,” Pouks grumbled. “Why did the Great Beings always have a fascination with behemoth creatures with loads of armor?” “Maybe that can play into our benefit,” Nuparu piped. “We could overheat its systems, perhaps?” “The dragon thrives on heat,” Norik reminded him. “And under each of those mask scales the Rahi has a ventilation system. Too many vents to try and plug.” “Whatever we do, we just have to keep it from using its fire,” Hewkii growled as he summoned a boulder to throw the dragon’s way. “And we can’t let it reach the villages south,” Gaaki reminded them. “It came from the Great Volcano,” Jaller said. “How are batteries like us supposed to have enough power to suppress something a power plant couldn’t satisfy?” “Precision,” Kualus answered, firing the tri-bladed staff he carried as the Kanohi Dragon dove towards them. What was intended as a strong stream of frost aimed at the dragon’s underbelly resulted in a thick coating of ice which adhered to its underside, the staff amplifying the Toa of Ice’s elemental abilities. Kualus continued his offense, bombarding the Rahi with ice colder than his Sub-Zero Spear could ever manage. The dragon’s maw opened wide as it roared in pain, fire beginning to conjure in its throat. The conjuring was short lived, however, as a growing Toa of Earth rose up to tackle the dragon. It lashed out with its double bladed tail, catching Bomonga in the back. He grimaced, but he did not falter. Instead he reached back to grab the behemoth by its tail, ripping the creature out of the sky. Bomonga grappled with the dragon, distracting it as the two Toa of Water created moisture for Kualus to freeze. Feeling weak at the sense of the cold, the dragon let itself drop to the ground, slamming into the earth with the force of an earthquake. It wriggled furiously against the Toa of Earth, trying to escape from his grip. The remaining Toa of Earth and Stone rushed to assist their brother, willing the ground of Spherus Magna to help their enlarged brother pin the gargantuan. In the meantime, Jaller and Norik rushed to either side of the beast, using their control of fire to suppress any flame the dragon tried to shoot, whilst Iruini and Kongu used their elemental powers to suffocate the ravening infernos spreading along the plains. Spherus Magnans who saw the fight claimed it was nothing they’d seen since the Core War, while historians from the Matoran Universe recalled the fight the dragon had given another group of eleven Toa millennia before. The beast both times had been a ravager of the land, but perhaps this time it would be put down for good. To the mountains of Iconox it would be shipped, where the cold would inhibit its power. The Toa had originally let the beast go, and it had been peaceful. But apparently it would never be content to leave the Matoran and their new Agori peers alone. *** The eleven Toa watched the sun set to the west, sweat of the battle turning cold under their armor in the arriving evening. At the bottom of the hill where they stood, the Kanohi Dragon was being loaded onto a platform by hundreds of black armored denizens, of which half the group looked skeptically upon. “Do we trust the Vortixx to take the dragon?” Kualus asked. “The last time they had it they—“ “The only place it can go is the northern reaches of Iconox,” Jaller nodded, understanding the Toa Hagah’s concerns. “We have to trust them with the dragon.” “But if they do anything like they tried to do last time…” Iruini said, uneasy. “My mask shows me nothing of the dragon’s future,” Gaaki said. “I think it will be alright with them, this time.” “They don’t have access to all of the technology they had on Xia,” Nuparu pointed out. “The disassembly of the robot made them leave a few things. And since Roodaka isn’t leading them this time, I think they’ll be on the right path.” The Toa Hagah of Ice nodded, watching the silhouettes of the Vortixx rushing to finish the work before nightfall. “Is everything alright, Kualus?” came the voice of Norik. The others had left, leaving only the two of them on the hill. The Toa of Ice shook his head. “No brother,” he said, pointing his staff to the north, “There is somewhere you and I have to go.” *** The hannah crab clacked its claws excitedly as it scuttled through the maze of furniture before it. Eagerly venturing through the closed quarters, it bumped on every possible chair leg it could come across, ricocheting onto the wall and back. Each collision made the Rahi more excited, looking for the way out of the absurd arrangement of furniture. There had to be a gap somewhere to duck out of this… after all, there was food outside of here. The crab continued to crawl through the maze, nearly passing the exit in its furious search. It crashed into the wall as it tried to reverse direction, then managed to crawl backwards to the break in the furniture. It shot through the gap to a wide chamber, nearly scuttling into a pair of blue columns in the middle of the floor. It was only the swift sweep of a big red arm which prevented it from a painful collision. “We come here every week, little one, yet you get lost back there every time,” Jaller chuckled as he nestled his pet in the crook of his arm. The crab began to coo as its legs came to a stop. It curled up in the Toa of Fire’s embrace. “It would also help if someone didn’t rearrange the furniture every time we visited,” he jabbed at the winged Toa standing in the middle of the room. “You don’t have to come over for these healing treatments,” Hahli retorted, fluttering her wings. “Surely the Kanohi Dragon didn’t burn the Toa of Fire too bad.” A knock on the door whisked his comeback away, and Jaller set his drink down as he went to answer it. His evening with Hahli was interrupted, and he wondered by whom at this time of night. The door opened to reveal a gold and white Toa, standing behind a Ta-Matoran, and Jaller was curious as to which odd character led the pair. “Takua! Kapura!” He exclaimed. Kapura gave a courteous nod, but when the Toa only exchanged a solemn hello, it seemed strained, and Jaller saw that there was something painful in his old friend’s eyes. He pulled them in, asking what was wrong, but Takanuva could not answer. “Nothing to be spoken of in doorways, Toa Jaller,” the Ta-Matoran responded for his companion. ' Review

  6. Bionicle: The Legend Continues ... (looking for a name, please suggest) HELLO, and welcome to my (notably badly drawn) comics page. As per right now, I haven't got much to show, in fact I've only just started. For the past year or so I've been wanting to start a Bionicle comic set on Spherus Magna and featuring the Toa Mahri (remember them? I know right I didn't either ...). After about a year of sketching and scrapping, I decided I was going to draw the beginning of a comic and not throw away, rub out and/or burn it. This is it and I'm regretting having scrapped some of the old versions right now, that actually had more than just a beginning for a start. This is more of a prologue if anything at all, but hopefully it'll grow at a reasonable if I have the time to draw some more and if it gets any feedback. My scanner seems to be utter , so the image quality is awful, like AWFUL awful. The drawings look like they've been done by an eight year old. I did most of it in a rush/rage if that's an excuse. The story which hasn't started yet is what will hopefully count in the future, but that leaves pretty much nothing at all worth reading at the moment now I think about it. Anyway here it is before I change my mind (in the process saving myself plenty of regret) ... Again, sorry for the awful image quality, I hope it's not too faint. I'd say sorry for the eight year old drawing style, the unreadable writing etc etc etc but I warned you before hand. More to come, better and less rushed hopefully, there is an actual STORY set to start. Stay tuned and goodbye ...
  7. This is my second video based comic series, the first one being "New Legends". This time, it will feature random stories, which are set after the Great Battle between Mata Nui and Makuta Teridax. There are connections between these stories, but here aren't real continuations. This one is a story about the Toa Mahri, being on a recon mission. I won't spoiler too much, I hope you enjoy watching it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0QuOVOWQBY Write in the comments below what I should improve, or what I should NOT do for my next chapter.
  8. Hi all! Have some cracky Christmas comedy. This is another one of those weird beasts that could have been labelled a short story or a comedy, but I figure it will appeal more to the sort of mind that hangs out in the comedy forum rather than those who like the more serious stuff. So here it is- a story of drunk Toa, very angry Christmas tree decorations, and the perils of falling in love with giant robots. Enjoy and have a great holiday, everyone! Mahri Christmas “Kiina!” yelled Ackar from the other side of the town centre courtyard. “Got another three over here!” Kiina groaned, and squinted in the early morning light. The streets were quiet now, but they would soon be abuzz with shoppers of many different species busy buying gifts and food. A massive conifer had been erected in the square yesterday, and a few of the shops had brightly coloured decorations in the windows. Gresh had been particularly mesmerised by the whole thing. Decorations like these hadn’t been put up since the Shattering, and his own memories of the holiday were faint (Kiina had to feel for the poor guy- very few things could mess up your childhood like a planet getting blown up). But Kiina herself had more important things to worry about at that moment, so she barely looked at the festive decorations. If she had, she might have noticed the unusually large and rather unhappy-looking ornament at the top of the tree. “Better not be more Skakdi,” she muttered, trudging towards Ackar and the three horizontal figures at his feet. During the past week alone, Kiina had dealt with over a dozen blind-drunk Matoran (at the same time), and one drunk Skakdi, and there was no question about which was worse. Matoran were easily subdued- take off their masks and they fell asleep almost instantly. She and Ackar had found out where they lived, piled them into their vehicles and dropped them all off at their homes, enlisting some helpful neighbours to watch over them while they recovered. Some of the Kanohi might have been accidentally swapped around in the process (Kiina hadn’t realised they lost colour when removed, which made matching them to their owners more difficult), but it was a small price to pay for getting home safely, she reasoned. Kiina had expected the Skakdi to be a challenge, but she hadn’t been at all prepared for that unique experience. Skakdi, as it turned out, became extremely chatty and affectionate when intoxicated. Also very clingy and quite hard to get rid of. She’d got him back to his house, eventually, put him to bed, and started on her way home, only to find him shuffling towards her five minutes later, singing a well-intentioned but slightly inappropriate song about his new best friend, the “nice blue lady”. Luckily for Kiina, they hadn’t been too far from Ackar’s place at the time. Long story short, Ackar had helped get Kiina’s new friend back where he belonged and ensured that he stayed there. There may have been a lullaby involved. And possibly the teeniest, tiniest little bit of bludgeoning somebody over the head with a blunt object. Heck, to a Skakdi, that practically is a lullaby. I don’t know why I bother sometimes, thought Kiina. No, scratch that. She knew exactly why she bothered. Well, one of the reasons, anyway. The main reason, even. Maybe if she hadn’t met Mata Nui personally, hadn’t fought alongside him, hadn’t sat up late around a campfire listening to stories of other worlds… …Hadn’t gone and fallen in love with the strange man who fell out of the sky in a magic mask and was actually a humongous planet-fixing robot-god, basically… …Well, she supposed she would still want to help the newcomers settle in. She’d always had a reasonably functional sense of justice and fairness and empathy and all those other things that life after the Shattering tried to iron out of you, but the things she’d found herself doing lately continued to surprise her. The Kiina that she’d been just a few short years ago wouldn’t bother helping a drunk Skakdi… She reached into her satchel, and her fingers found the shape of a small metal tube. A cheerful chirping sound echoed from the tube as Kiina tickled the little purple insect that hid in there. Kiina did not regret falling in love with Mata Nui. Even though it hurt. Even though she didn’t understand exactly why he chose to retreat back into the mask and leave everyone. Even if she never really knew what she actually meant to him. She did not regret one single second of the time she’d spent with him… …Although, sometimes she did sort of wish that he hadn’t left her to play nanny to his several thousand oversized mechanical children. Many of whom were just discovering the concept of alcohol. Today’s culprits, as it turns out, were three Toa, which was still hopefully a bit easier than one Skakdi. Kiina had met them only briefly before, but she’d got chatting to Toa Hahli often enough to know a bit about them. “Toa Mahri,” she told Ackar. “That one’s…that’s Kongu,” she said, pointing at the green one with the beard-like mask. “And the other two?” asked Ackar. “Hewkii and… Nuparu, I think it was…” She’d heard the names often enough, and knew that one was Earth and the other Stone, but couldn’t quite recall which was which. “I don’t know where they live, but I could go find Hahli…” Kongu was beginning to stir. He rolled onto his side, revealing a mass of what looked like orange, mechanical feathers stuck to his torso. He winced as he moved, and Kiina noticed what looked like bruising of some of the organic tissue on his arms and legs. “What happened to you?” asked Ackar. “Too much happy-juice,” he babbled, waving his hand around vaguely. “Decided to take joy-fly on Gukko-back. Forgot about Toa-size. Gukko quick-buck, Kongu deep-fall. Hewkii tried to make feather-light, came out rock-weight, Kongu went ouch-splat.” He winced and slumped his head back down to the ground. “Hurts to live-exist…” he whimpered. Ackar turned to look at Kiina. “Did you understand any of that?” Kiina shrugged. “Think I got the general gist of it. He fell off… something, and hit harder than he should have because his friend was drunk and couldn’t use his gravity powers properly.” “Right…” said Ackar, “I think we might have more luck with the others.” He gestured towards the one with the mask that looked like a weird sea creature, who was beginning to stir. “Try Fishface over here,” Kiina crouched down beside the heavy-set Toa. The Toa squinted blearily up at her. He looked like all of his wildest dreams had suddenly come true. “Macku,” he mumbled excitedly, “You’re a Toa…” “Wrong on both counts, I’m afraid,” said Kiina gently. “Name’s Kiina. I think we might have met before?” “Hyuuuh-(hic)-kii” came the slurred reply. So this was Hewkii, then… or what was left of him, after whatever shenanigans took place last night. There was a small piece of tinsel caught in the corner of his mask. It was at this point that Kiina also noticed the pink party hat atop the sleeping Toa Nuparu’s head. “So, you three were at a party last night?” she asked Hewkii. Hewkii frowned and shrugged. The details, apparently, eluded him. She plucked the tinsel from his mask and dangled it in front of him. “Ring any bells?” she asked him. “Yeeeeah…” he said, a demented smile creeping across his face. “Yeah?” “Bells.” There was a note of pride in his voice. “We rang ALL of the bells…” Right on cue, Toa Nuparu sat bolt upright and launched into a loud, mangled version of “Jingle Bells”. In his hand, he had a small set of tinkling bells, and he seemed determined to get as much noise out of them as possible. Ackar very gently hushed him and confiscated the toy. There was a sound like a muffled shout, seemingly from the other side of the courtyard. Kiina glanced around and saw nobody, and figured it must be a few streets away. She turned her attention back to Hewkii. Ackar, meanwhile, looked a bit more closely for the source of the noise. “Uh, Kiina…” he said after a moment. “Mmhm?” “Your eyesight’s better than mine. Tell me, is it just me… or is that angel moving?” “Angel?” Kiina looked up at the top of the tree. She hadn’t even noticed that someone had already put an angel up there. She was quite a shabby-looking angel, to be honest. Her dress looked like it was made from coloured giftwrap, held in place with several layers or red ribbon tied around and around her body, even around most of her head. She had no hair, no visible arms, and nothing clearly resembling a face. Her wings seemed to consist mostly of cooking foil and tinsel. She looked like something a young Agori child might proudly bring home from kindergarten. Only much bigger. And much, much angrier. For the angel was indeed moving. Thrashing, in fact, kicking her legs around, wings flapping wildly. She was secured to the top of the tree by strong rope, and was battling to get free. The conifer was beginning to sway dangerously. Kiina and Ackar scrambled to get out of the tree’s potential falling radius. Kiina vaguely recalled hearing bedtime stories as a little girl about a tree-angel that would come to life, fly down from her perch and grant wishes for people, or take good little children on magical adventures. But the scene unfolding before her looked more like something out of a campfire horror story. She supposed that after all the strange things she’d encountered recently, psychotic animate tree ornaments didn’t seem all that farfetched. But Ackar, as usual, had a more reasonable explanation. “Is that a Toa in there?” His question was answered when one of the angel’s wings was ripped open, revealing a wicked-looking silver fin underneath. “Hahli?!” cried Kiina. But there was no time for questions. “Hahli! Listen! You have to stop struggling or you’ll bring the whole tree down on us!” The thrashing stopped. “’-iina?” came the muffled reply. “Whurram I?” “Do you think she’s drunk, too?” whispered Ackar. “Possibly…” said Kiina. Hahli didn’t seem like the type to drink that much, but Kiina knew she had an adventurous streak. Besides, that Hewkii guy had “Charismatic Bad Influence” written all over him. And she was fairly certain Hahli wouldn’t allow herself to be wrapped up and tied to a tree if she herself had been completely sober. “You’re tied to the top of a tree in the town centre, “ Ackar told the Toa of Water. “We can get you down, I’ll just get Kiina to- Kiina?” But Kiina had marched back over to Hahli’s three brothers, where were all slumped back down on the ground. Right, she thought. No more “Nice Blue Lady”. “Hey!” she yelled. No response. She summoned a sphere of water and dropped it on Hewkii’s head. “Hey! You!” The Toa of Stone gave a yelp and rolled over sideways, staring up at Kiina with wild eyes. Kiina pointed to the tree-bound Toa of Water. “You wouldn’t happen to know anything about this, would you?” Confusion crossed Hewkii’s face, followed by recognition, and then silent dread. “Maybe…” he managed “ And what made you think that was a good idea?” Hewkii looked sheepish. “We were just trying to do the thing,” he said sulkily. “The thing?” “Yeah. You know, the thing-thing.” “Like in the song-carol,” added Kongu, who was still too sore to move. “Which song?” asked Kiina. She lowered her voice so as not to rouse Nuparu. “…'Jingle bells’…?” she whispered. “Nah, the other one. You know, ‘Deck the halls with bales of… of…’” he frowned. “That song don’t make sense,” he muttered, just as Nuparu joined in with an off-key “FalalalaLAAA” Kiina sighed. She could see where the misunderstanding had happened, but that really wasn’t a good enough excuse to justify doing that to the Toa of Water. “Holly,” she snapped . “Nah, nah. ‘m Hewkii. Hahli’s the blue one with the big…” Hewkii raised his hands above his shoulders and made a flapping motion. “…thingies” “I said ‘holly’. The song says ‘bales of holly’. It’s a type of plant. Agori used to decorate their houses with it in winter. ” “Ohhhhh…” said Hewkii, then paused. “Why would they do that?” “I like our version better,” said Nuparu, admiring his drunken handiwork from afar. “Very nice-pretty,” said Kongu, oblivious to just how much more pain he would be in once Hahli got down. Kiina sighed again. There was no point trying to reason with them in this state. The best she could really do would be to rescue Hahli from her festive cocoon, and try to prevent her from beating her brothers up too badly afterwards. She could walk them all home later… if anyone was in fit condition to walk, that is. “I’ll get the ladder,” she called to Ackar as she left for home. Her place was quite close by, just a quick shortcut through this alleyway, and- “Heeeeeey, it’s her! Hey, blue lady, remember me?” Kiina’s heart sank as she turned to see the familiar red eyes and toothy smile. “Hey, boys! Come meet my friend!” “Hey, toots!” “Heeeeeeeeey,,,,” “Aw, look at her little squishy face… Can we keep her?” “Wanna see my collection of Vortixx heads?” Kiina groaned inwardly but tried to manage a polite smile as the four intoxicated Skakdi approached her. It was going to be another one of those days.
  9. My personal favorite Toa team were the Toa Inika/Mahri. They were new and cool, and the first to incorporate "Launchers", or "guns" other than Vakama Metru. My personal favorite is Matoro, with Nuparu as a close second, out of the six, but what does the BZPower community think? Feel free to leave you answers, comments, questions, and concerns below.
  10. Not quite sure if this should be here or in S&T, so forum leaders, whoever they may be, please feel free to move this if necessary. So, in the Original/Cancelled Storylines topic in S&T, someone said about how after 07, instead of Matoro sacrificing himself with the Ignika, the Inika were originally intended to do the whole Karda Nui battle arc thingy in order to save Mata Nui's life, and what I'm asking is, would you have preferred 08 to have the Inika again in different forms, or are you happy with the what we actually got? Here's the link to the aforementioned topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/13109-originalcancelled-storylines/
  11. Okay, BIONICLEstory.com was deleted, as we are all aware. But it was deleted before I ever found anything relating to the Toa Mahri...the last I read of them they were being mind controlled by some skakdi (I think). They laid down their weapons and surrendered...What became of them? Or Lewa, for that matter? Someone please provide answers
  12. Hewkii drew his hand carefully over the chunk of granite, shaping it with his elemental power. A perfect sphere was beginning to emerge from the rough stone. He hoped it was impressive enough. The former Po-matoran sighed, resting from his labor for a minute. "We're sure about this?" he asked his companion. "Just a sphere? Toa Lhikan got statues kio high." Nuparu looked up from the circuitry he was repairing and nodded. "You heard what Jaller said. Besides, those statues of Toa Lhikan didn't last very long." "I guess." The kohlii player in Hewkii wanted to see merit given a greater reward than a simple headstone. It didn't feel right, after everything the Toa Mahri of Ice had given, that his sacrifice should just drop into obscurity. But on a Toa team, apparently the majority ruled. So he went back to his tasking of smoothing stone while Nuparu welded in silence. "Can I interrupt for a minute?" An Onu-matoran stood in the doorway of the makeshift workshop, his arms full of tools and gizmos. "Here's the stuff you wanted, Nuparu. Took us a while to scavenge it, what with everything going on out there." "Thanks, Unletu," Nuparu smiled at his former co-worker. "Just put it down anywhere." "Okay." Unletu dropped the unorganized heap in a corner. The neat freak in Hewkii winced at the sight before returning his focus to the sculpture. "Hey, that's gonna look good, Hewkii!" The Onu-matoran ran his hand over a section of the granite. "Finish off all the pores and that'll last a thousand years." "That's the idea," the Toa of Stone answered briefly.* * * "You're really sure that's it?" Hewkii asked one more time, as the five Toa Mahri surveyed the finished creation. "He deserves a lot more than this, you know." Hahli shook her head. "This isn't about what he deserves. This is about remembering." "Yeah, well I think he'd like us to remember a little more than just a grave," Hewkii grumbled. Nuparu carefully fitted the last wire into the socket and slid out from underneath the sculpture. "Trust me, this is a lot more than just a grave. Some of my best work is in there. Hand me the heatstone, someone?" Kongu obliged, then turned to Hewkii. "Back in treebright Le-koro, we had a specialcertain way of deepburying the ones who darkdied. We made treewood boxes and hungtied them to a hugebig tree so they lookseemed like fruit." His face had a bittersweet expression. "It pathshowed how the fallendeath helpgived to others new leafdawn. They were not just oldbone and gone; their hero-acts keptmade them alive and happycheer forever." Hewkii let the confusing explanation hang in the air for a few seconds before asking, "Your point is...?" "My point-thought," Kongu answered slowly, uncharacteristically solemn, "is that to realtruly honorgive a cold-dead hero, you have to speakshow what they gaveleft. Matoro can live spiritblessed forever, if we tellshow how he madegave us a newbetter life." Nuparu shook his head and attached the heatstone to the generator he'd contrived. "That's the most confusing obituary I've ever heard." "Treespeak is very specialimportant to me, now that so fewsmall still singspeak," Kongu answered. Jaller was tempted to roll his eyes, but in a way, he understood the Toa of Air's logic. Yes, maybe everything they had known on Mata-Nui was a lie, but that world had shaped who they were. It had made them strong and brave enough to face the impossible dangers of the past few weeks, and given them the tools to survive in this new world. To completely forget that culture, that history, felt like betraying a friend. Like forgetting Matoro, as so many had already seemed to do. He brushed off his metaphysical musings as Nuparu flicked a switch on the small control panel. "Is it ready?" The inventive Toa nodded. "Everything's a go." Hewkii looked their joint creation over with a critical eye. The sphere, suspended a third of a bio off the ground by four elegant protodermis legs, was about two bio in diameter, perfectly smooth and glistened white in the sun. The thick stone shell protected an advanced kind of recording device, similar to the Chronicler's book. The sphere was laced throughout with veins of protodermis to conduct electricity. A simple touch on the surface could activate the device, but a thousand years of howling winds would hardly chip anything away. He grudgingly nodded his approval of the structure. "Let's try it." Nuparu put his hand on the sphere, stroking it like he would a pet Ussal crab. "Let me go first, in case there's a bug." For several minutes, he kept his hand on the stone, his eyes closed in concentration. "There. Someone else try it." Jaller pressed his palm to the granite, followed by Hahli, Kongu and Hewkii. Each of them poured all their memories of the Toa Mahri of Ice into the stone, the recorder soaking up every second of their trials together. It was nearly half an hour before they were all finished, each exhausted by the experience. Nuparu bent to reach the control panel again and flicked a second switch. "Perfect! Now, anyone who touches this is going to see everything he did." The Toa of Fire nodded his approval. "I think he would have liked it." Kongu looked over at Hahli, who was staring into the sky absently. "You want to speaksay a few solemnwords?" The former Chronicler nodded, bringing her eyes back down to earth. "Sure." She paused for a second, collecting her thoughts. At last, she shook her head. "No. No, I can't. He didn't need speeches or songs. He never wanted praise or recognition; he wanted his friends to be safe. He lived with lies and deception every day as Turaga Nuju's aid, but he just wanted the truth to come out. And when it did, and we left to find the Toa Nuva, he probably knew more about what we were getting ourselves into than any of us. But he came anyway, even if he did have nightmares every night and woke the rest of us." Kongu chuckled ruefully at the memory. Hahli seemed not to hear and just kept on talking. "Matoro just wanted to have a normal life, one where he could get up in the morning and not hear the warning horns. He wasn't a genius, or a weapons expert or a fighter. He was just a matoran in a world made by powerful beings who didn't care if we lived or died, people who saw us as insects. And he proved them wrong, because he was greater than they'll ever be. He gave everything to save a future he'd never see." She paused for breath and was startled to feel Jaller's hand slip around her own, squeezing it tight. "Nice speech," he smiled. She gave a shaky laugh. "I give my best ones without realizing I'm doing it." Hewkii exhaled softly. Maybe they're right. Maybe he really doesn't need a monument or a museum. It's enough that we remember.
  13. Stasis Darkness was all around. A heavy machine lifted rubble in the background. Clicks and clanks could be heard darting back and forth across the walls of buildings as well as the whirrs of buzz saws as they chimed in content. Ussal crabs scurried here and there transporting rubble or supplies. As soon as one popped into one’s line of vision, it would just as quickly fade out of sight, leaving only the sound of its steps as company. Yes, Onu-Metru was strangely calming despite how busy it was.Hahli’s mind wandered free as she traveled through this district. The clicks, clanks and whirrs seemed to speak an untold language that left her in a trance.“Welcome, Chronicler,” a solemn voice spoke.Hahli snapped out of her trance.“Greetings, Turaga Whenua,” Hahli met the turaga in a respectful tone. She dismounted a familiar ussal crab.“I see you brought Pewku with you. I thought she was in the care of Jaller these days?” Turaga Whenua inquired, adjusting his grey kanohi Ruru as he tried to recall past events.“Yes! She is. I borrowed her after a visit in Ta-Metru, just for a while.” Hahli explained, a little sheepish. The turaga beckoned Hahli to follow and he began to lead her to the entrance of a large, underground building.“I hear you have been visiting Ta-Metru quite a bit,” he mentioned with a bit of interest.Hahli lowered her head slightly in embarrassment as she followed closely behind the turaga.“I just want to be able to explore as much of this city as possible- for the new Wall of History, that is,”That wasn’t completely true, and it was actually a weak excuse on her part. The truth was she wanted nothing more than to spend time with Jaller, captain of the guard. Hahli ran the scene through her head one more time, after she had heard the news of his death back on Mata Nui. She was relieved, no, elated to see him come to life before her eyes. It was a miracle that he was still in her life, and each day since she had been grateful for the life of her friend.“Well, there certainly is a lot to see here in the archives!” Turaga Whenua went on and on about the rahi exhibits- how many of their specimens had escaped, as well as the progress of clearing the debris and restoration. Hahli was relieved he didn’t continue to question her modus operandi and relaxed a bit.The exhibits were fascinating; some with bitter memories such as bohrok and rahkshi, others that were new and strange such as a kikanalo beast, but the one that caught Hahli’s eye above the others was something simple and all too familiar. She paused in her steps when her eyes met those of a small, small Ruki fish that was frozen in a stasis tube. Hahli couldn’t help but feel pity for the creature. It’s so dark down here underground. I wonder if it dreams of its home; of the waves that enveloped its body once. It looks to be so young too. I wonder what life it might have had in the sea, free from this cage and able to grow strong.Hahli continued to think back to her home on Mata Nui, where Ruki were wild and would swim in the light of day with no care in the world.Turaga Whenua paused when he noticed the chronicler was no longer following. He looked back and saw Hahli around fifteen feet behind him.“Is something the matter, Chronicler?”Hahli jolted back to reality.“Oh, I’m sorry, Turaga. I was just thinking. Please, continue.” She quickly caught up to Turaga Whenua. He then continued to talk of all of the adventures the Toa Metru faced here in the archives; retrieving the Great Disk, the breach after the Great Cataclysm and so on. However, Hahli couldn’t help but send one last glance at the Ruki fish before she continued.***“Hahli!”Hahli wasn’t sure whose voice called out to her. All she could see was a fiery pit that was drawing closer. No, it wasn’t the pit that was moving, but rather it was Hahli who was spiraling towards a doom of cinders and flame. Before she could act, she felt her body being caught gently in the arms of a friend.J-Jaller?!Hahli’s heart-light skipped a beat. This was like a scene out of a tale of whimsy, surely a dream. It wasn’t a dream. They landed on a cliff past the lava. Jaller let Hahli down gently. They shared a bashful look for a few moments before a booming voice brought the both of them back to their senses.“Now, whatever was that fancy grab-catching there, fire-spitter?” Kongu chittered.“I-I’m not sure. I just… knew I needed to act and I felt my mask react-“ Jaller seemed dumb-founded.The rest of the toa continued to discuss the discovery of Jaller’s mask power. That’s right… We’re toa now, Hahli thought to herself. It was his mask… it wanted to protect a fellow toa… nothing more...The Toa Inika were still not used to the fact that their masks were… alive.Hahli walked towards the back of the group, deep in thought, as they continued forward to find the Toa Nuva. Alongside her was Matoro; a naturally shy observer.“Um… Are you alright, Hahli?” Matoro seemed almost hesitant to ask, his voice worried.“Oh…? Ah, I’m alright, Matoro. I was just thinking.” Hahli said, her face wore a blank expression.“Thinking… about… what, exactly?”“… This really is dangerous, isn’t it?” Both Matoro’s and Hahli’s minds flooded with memories of Karzahni as well as the scene that had just played out a few moments ago. “I mean, of course we all knew this was dangerous from the start, but,” Hahli’s gaze trailed off to the front of the group where Jaller was talking with Hewkii, “what if something happens to one of us?” The reality behind that thought was scary indeed. Her mind went back to the events of Mata Nui. She tried not to think of the possibility of losing her friend again.“… What if something happens to all of us?” Matoro spoke without thinking.Hahli was taken aback by this. She could never explain why, but hearing Matoro just blurt out something like that… it made her giggle. Her giggle turned into a chuckle, which in turn transformed into a full laugh. It wasn’t out of arrogance or even because of humor. Perhaps it was just too dark a thought to be dealt with seriously? At any rate, Matoro slowly began to laugh along with her in their dark, dark humor.“What’s gotten into them?” Nuparu whispered to his companion.“You don’t want to quick-know…” Kongu sighed in a gloomy depression.***Hahli was swimming in the ocean. She felt calm, almost content… almost. A lot had happened in such a short time. The battle on Voya Nui had been brutal. Matoran enslaved and killed, dying of thirst and hunger, forced to use what little they had to defend their home; but Hahli couldn’t think of that now. No, now was not the time for thinking. The entire universe- Mata Nui himself depended on the Toa Mahri. Suddenly, Hahli stopped. A small Ruki fish was swimming, with great difficulty, in front of her. Hahli knew she was deep down and such a young fish was not made to deal with the pressure of the dark ocean. Its chances for survival were slim. Now was not the time for thinking.Hahli continued to move forward; she couldn’t afford to skip another beat in such a crucial situation. As she passed the fish, she used her power to create a quick jet that lead closer to the surface light, and hoped the Ruki fish would be alright. She did not look back; she did not know for certain what fate had in store for such a small creature.I’m sorry… Forgive me, friend, but I am part of something far larger than a Ruki fish.***The Toa Mahri were about to die. Of this, Hahli was certain. The Barraki and their forces had them cornered and Jaller was prepared to unleash a nova blast to clear the playing field. In what appeared their final moments, Matoro’s words rang in Hahli’s head. What if something were to happen to all of us?She closed her eyes. Please, Matoro. Use the mask and save the Great Spirit. Live on… please, Matoro, escape!Hahli felt a change in... a change in what?… She couldn’t quite place what it was, but she let in a gasp.A…Air?!She opened her eyes to see Jaller in front of her, calming himself down to safe levels. Her friends were there in front of her on the shore of Metru Nui.“How did we get here?”“A better question is, how are we breathing air again?”Hahli was speechless until she realized something horrible.“…Where is Matoro?”It was not long before the team realized what they had lost.Hahli didn’t bother looking. There were no Ruki fish here on this dry, dry land. And the darkness? That was something, Hahli was sure, would never go away.
  14. When Mata Nui restored Spherus Magna to its former glory, curses (or blessings) done from the Kanohi Ignika and Pit Mutagen were undone, so were the Toa Mahri turned back into Toa Inika or did they stay as Toa Mahri? I looked it up and found nothing. If they didn't change back, why? (unless they didn't turn into Toa Mahri via the Kanohi Ignika, but I'm quite sure it was the Kanohi Ignika that transformed the Toa Inika into Mahri).
