  1. ~Prologue~ Turaga Cyhuku looked around the dark circular chamber. Surrounded by various crystal statues of Toa, he stared at the one of his greatest friend, Toa Sah Ferohn, for a long period of time and sighed. The Turaga of Ceronox Nui had held storytelling sessions here for many years and this place was usually full of Matoran talking. It was never so empty being typically awash with Matoran waiting to hear stories of the past, though he wasn't alone as Toa Zahaku of Rahi Life, Toa Flengu of Air, and Toa Narmok of Ice sat near the door talking to their "guest", a cloaked being whose face was hidden by a hood. Toa Zahaku looked up at the Turaga and noticed that he was trying to listen in on their conversation. The frowning Toa looked back to his teammates and began his discussion with them again once the Turaga appeared to rise and walk away, however unnoticed the old Turaga began edging closer to the other, when..."Turaga! Can we here more stories?" shouted a young Matoran of Air whom Cyhuku had never seen before. It was only then that he realized the Matoran were gathering outside."What? Oh yes, yes, do come in. I had forgotten about that," he said as the Matoran took their seats."Now what story would you like to hear? One about my own adventures as a Toa Sāh? Or one about our current friends and protectors?"The Matoran seemed to have their answer ready before he had even got the question out because they shouted almost instantly that the wanted to hear a story about Narmok, Zahaku, Flengu and their team. Again."Oh" said the Turaga, quite obviously disappointed. "Okay, but maybe next time we can hear a different type of story?" he laughed.Activating his staff, the crystal statue of Toa Flengu sprang to life, hoisting its living counterpart up by the ankle. As everybody in the room laughed at the leader of the Toa, Cyhuku said "Now I believe our story begins with our good friend, Flengu..."Review ~Chapter One~ The island of Hytrax, 40,000 Years before the Great Cataclysm: Flengu, Toa Hytrax of Air stood in his hut, bored as usual. He was a fun-loving Toa, which meant unless he had something interesting to do, he would go and annoy the Turaga in their hut with jokes at their expense. Or would go to the Vortixx's village where he would get them to make him something interesting, which is something they would always do because the one time they didn't, Flengu smashed his axe through their power supply before telling them he would be back the next day.Flengu was currently banned from going to either village by his leader Vahaki, because they had an important mission or something like that. Watching him from the other side of the hut was Luwaro, a Toa of Darkness who had become slightly paranoid about Skakdi because when he was a Matoran, he was viciously attacked by a group of them during the Hytrax Civil War. Luwaro was throwing his knives into the dirt before picking them back up and doing it all over again. He was obviously as bored as Flengu. Then a red and black armoured Toa of Fire came in."Hello, Vahaki wants to see us now," Tamek said excitedly."What happened to your Armour? Its' usually Red and Silver," Luwaro asked curiously."Upgrade," was the only reply. The Toa left their hut to where the rest of the Toa Hytrax were assembled in front of Vahaki and the Rakile Commander, Komodro. Tamek smiled at the young Rakile who stared at him suspiciously before turning to the others and starting."Okay, we have been informed about missing miners and we’ve been ordered to go look for them, bring them back up to the surface if they are alive, and make sure this does not happen again. A simple mission and you could handle it yourselves easily, but the Turaga think it would be best if we come as well just in case," he said, waving his hand at a group of Rakile getting ready for battle. "Any questions?" When no reply came, Komodro left to go talk with his Rakile. The Toa gathered some gear left out for them and set off to a cliffside where they would find easy access to the cave network beneath the island. It was a long and tiring walk and once again, Flengu grew bored and started to notice things he hadn’t noticed before. Luwaro became edgy and kept two of his knives in his hands, at the ready. He is becoming more paranoid every day, thought Flengu.Tamek was completely relaxed; he hadn’t even brought his Inferno Flail with him. He had a new sword and a small dagger with him now. In addition to his armour, his eyes also seemed darker as well, more intimidating. They were usually a pinkish colour, but were now a dark red. But how could that have happened? That’s strange. The others seemed perfectly normal. Its' probably just my imagination, forget it. As they reached the entrance to the cave network, Vahaki stopped to talk with the Team."Now, this is what we are going to do, Nakora and Sirof will go in first with Tamek and myself. Flengu, Turax, and Luwaro will wait here until the Rakile get here. We won’t be long, we're just checking how this part of the cave is holding up. I'd hate for it to collapse on us all when we're in there!" he laughed. As Sirof and Nakora walked through the opening, a wall of darkness blocked the exit for the Toa on the inside. Drawing his axe, Flengu turned to the Toa of Darkness but Luwaro was just as surprised as the Toa of Air was. Luwaro brandished his twin Deathbringers as well, looking for the source. Then Vahaki walked to the wall and examined it."It’s black Fire, not Darkness," he shouted in surprise."Now I wonder who that was?" said Tamek sarcastically as the remaining toa turned to look at him. "Black Fire you say? That’s very strange don’t you think?""What the Karzahni you playing at?" yelled Turax grabbing the Toa of Fire."Nothing. I’m not playing. I’m just standing here talking to you and holding up a wall of fire, which is strangely black." Tamek smiled."Tell me what's going on or I'll smash you into the ground until you do!""Alright, you got me. I need to complete my destiny, it includes some of you and you will help me when the time comes. Some of you have already completed yours," He indicated Turax and Vahaki. "But even though I don’t need you nor Sirof for that matter, some of you will be allowed to live, as your useful." He paused as sounds of battle were heard from inside the cave where Nakora and Sirof were. Turax slackened his grip on Tamek. "But some of you I have no need for at all and you will die."Turax fell to the ground, Tamek's knife stuck in his chest, his heartlight faltering. Then sword in hand, Tamek lunged at Luwaro before the others had time to realise what had happened. Quickly Flengu gathered his senses and hit Tamek with the side of his Tornado Axe. Grunting in pain, Tamek fell, rolled over, and blasted a ball of flame into Flengu, sending him flying against a nearby tree. Tamek then turned back to Luwaro as Vahaki ran towards the fallen Toa of Air."What are you doing?" Flengu yelled. "Help him!"Vahaki looked at the fight thoughtfully and then said, "Luwaro can handle himself for now, are you good here?""Sure, but I don’t think I can stand yet though.""Right, then I’m going to see if I can do anything for Turax," he quickly said, before running off to aid the downed Toa of Energy.Luwaro was putting up a good fight against the insane Toa of Fire. One of his throwing knives was stuck in Tamek's left leg but one of his Deathbringers lay near the edge of the Cliffside. Luwaro managed to knock Tamek off his feet again and rushed to retrieve his weapon. Tamek recovered in lightning quick speed and ran toward the Toa of Darkness. Luwaro saw this out of the corner of his mask and blocked his sword swing. Tamek lifted his leg up and kicked Luwaro off the edge.Ripping the knife out of his leg, Tamek threw it at Vahaki who was trying to relieve Turax's pain. A scream echoed off the cliffside and Flengu rose to see Turax, now with Luwaro's knife in his neck, dead. Vahaki lifted his blade and raced towards Flengu."Come on! Were getting out of here, get to the Rakile, they'll help u-"He didn’t get any further. Vahaki fell over, engulfed in the black fire that Tamek was now creating. Screaming in pain he managed to stand up again. He turned towards Flengu before he managed to say with great difficulty, "Go!""No! I’m helping you.""I said Go!" was the reply, this time with a hint of anger in his pained voice. Then the burning Vahaki raced at the smirking Tamek who obviously wasn’t anticipating this. Realizing he was still standing next to the edge, he tried to get out of the way, but Vahaki tackled him over the edge, falling down the cliff himself in the process.Flengu walked towards the precipice cautiously and when he reached the edge he looked over. Tamek had managed grab ahold of a piece of rock jutting out of the cliffside, his weapon though had fallen down to the rocks below. Flengu reached down and grabbed Tamek's wrist."I’m taking you to the Rakile, but only because I can't kill you," Flengu said."Ahh, the Code. Wouldn’t want to break that, now would you?" Tamek laughed."No, it’s because you're... were my friend.""Well, I'm not climbing up, so I'll help you out. Sound good?""What?" Flengu asked as the Rakile came into view down the trail.Tamek hand reached for and held Flengu's other wrist. At first Flengu tried to pull him up, but stopped as him arms started to burn. Tamek smiled widely as Flengu realized what he meant. Then there was a searing pain that forced him to pull back, letting go. Tamek fell with the grin still etched across his face, plummeting without a noise."Mind telling us what that was about?" Flengu turned. Komodro was standing there with his legion."Tamek went insane. He killed Turax, Luwaro, and Vahaki. I don’t know what happened to Sirof or Nakora, there probably dead too. And those miners, I wouldn’t go looking for them if I were you. That was obviously a trick. I... I need to get out of here.""Then go, but if I find out what happened here was you, I'll personally hunt you down and kill you."Flengu turned and teleported down to the base of the cliff. Looking around, he noticed something missing. Bodies? Tamek, Luwaro, and Vahaki were not down here. The only thing he saw was a stone tablet.Picking it up, he read it out loud: "See you soon, Flengu."Review

Chapter 1: 50 B.G.C.: “Xalcak!” Toa Veran, Toa of Plasma, leader of the Toa Team, screamed. The figure walked away, out of view thanks to the mountain ridge he stood upon. Veran screamed his name again, but the greatest enemy to threaten the island was gone, and all that was left were his black and white armored grunts, the Strievers. Strievers weren’t too hard to defeat – once defeated, they vanished into a poof of smoke – but they were difficult to fight. They were sleek bodied with a few exceptions of armor, and had sleek, snaking back heads. Their eyes were almost impossible to see, so how they fought was a mystery. They were all armed with a powerful sword in their right hand, and a smaller in their left. Veran, clad in white, orange and gray armor, stood, impatiently watching four of them encircle him. He had rushed ahead of his team. He needed to capture and defeat Xalcak, so he couldn’t afford to waste time. These Strievers were wasting his time. He drew his right leg up. He wore a brace on his leg, designed to amplify his kicking attacks. He slammed his right palm into it and then put his leg back down. Plasma raced around the weapon now, waiting to be unleashed in his strikes. “Come on.” He hissed, leaping forward, delivering a powerful kick to one’s head. It flipped around, vanishing in a poof of smoke. He span around, delivering a kick with his left foot to flip another to the ground for the moment, while dodging over the top of its downed body to avoid one’s slash. He span around, whipping his leg up, parrying the last one’s sword with his brace. He pushed back and delivered a powerful side kick into the Striever, taking it down. He span around, leaping up and delivering a spinning kick to take down one more, before drawing his arms back, focusing Plasma into both of them, and throwing them both forward, melting one of them into smoke as it went down. As the two downed warriors began to rise, Veran turned back to see the rest of his team arriving. One of the grunts leapt forward, ready to plunge its sword into Veran’s back, when another Toa leapt in, punching it in the face with his powerful knuckle weapon. Sigil, Toa of Gravity. He was clad in black, gray and green armor, wielding a weapon that covered his knuckle. He didn’t wear a gauntlet, it was more like a striking device designed to be held and slope over his fist. He didn’t like gauntlet weapons; he felt they restricted him too much. The two nodded to each other. As the two Strievers got up, Veran span, kicking one in the head, using the brace, burning it down, while at the same moment, Sigil threw a punch, his weapon covered in fluctuating Gravity powers, making the creature collapse on itself and vanish into a poof of smoke as well. “Are you wounded?” A Toa in violet and black armor questioned. She rushed towards them, wielding a large spear-like weapon, tipped in a large blade. Atel, Toa of Healing. “No, we’re fine.” Sigil said. Veran was running off. He started to haul himself up the side of the cliff, cursing at how in the way it was. He glanced down, seeing the green and gray armored Seig, rookie Toa of Air, their newest recruit with a basic sword. He saw Clasis, Toa of Magma, clad in red, brown and black armor with his double bladed sword that doubled as an elemental bow. He also saw Rakis, the Toa of Power Scream. She didn’t look like a typical female Toa, but rather looked rough and violent, clad in silver, blue and gray armor with claws. Hark, Toa of Jungle, was in his blue and green, wielding his spear weapon. Finally, he saw the hunched over black and red form of Raiz, Toa of Rahi, with his two arm blades ready. He was a berserker, but effective. He could control himself, but he didn’t; Veran wished he would. As he climbed, he wondered why he didn’t just melt his way through with his Plasma powers. Then he remembered that he hated using his hands with his powers, only really using them to ignite his brace. He cursed at who he was, a kicker. He really wished someone would do something about the mountains, as they were leading to the escape of the greatest enemy the island had; Xalcak. 999 A.G.C.: “Xalcak is gone, so why do his Strievers remain?” Seig hissed. Seig, clad in green and white armor, with bladed wings on his back, as well as a ‘feathered’ sword, looked around at the group of Strievers around him, all of them waiting to strike. “We dealt with your master years ago!” He shouted, standing in the middle of a street. Matoran were busy fleeing. Some of them lay dead from the grunt fighters and their blades. But here, on the island of Princess Ishiza, death may have been better for them, since they were toiling away in a chaotic land of dystopia and forced labor, where the lower class was ignored and forced to work, while the higher class sat in a good position with those in power, such as Ishiza. Seig span around, cutting one down across the chest. He span around, parried another’s blade and kicked it away before spinning and impaling another. His bladed wings spread out, and he created a draft of Air around himself, shooting himself up and flipping around, landing behind the final two Strievers. He threw his left hand forward, unleashing a blast of compressed Air, hurtling them away. The force of the impact destroyed them.Seig shook his head and looked to his right, down the street. There used to be mountains there, mountains that his former leader, Veran, hated with a passion. Seig wondered if Veran would still feel the same way, were he still around. The natural beauty and landscape of the island, while a hindrance in fighting and pursuing Xalcak, was destroyed. It was replaced with tall, towering buildings where Matoran toiled away like slaves for hours on end, working for their oppressors and abusers. The island used to be a peaceful one, with small Matoran settlements dotting forests and plains. There was none of this dystopia; it had been a utopia, to some. “Seig!” Seig turned to watch as Raiz approached. He was no longer a hunched, vicious looking Toa of Rahi, but had brought himself under control. Still clad in red and black armor, he now had sloping claw-like shoulder armor with matching chest armor. He wore a clawed gauntlet over his left hand, and wielded a thick sword in his right. “Strievers.” Seig told him. “Strievers? Xalcak is no more!” Raiz said. “I know. That’s what worries me.” Seig said, “It seems like history repeats…” 50 B.G.C.: “It seems like history repeats.” Hark, Toa of Jungle, said. “What do you mean?” The Toa of Magma, Clasis, questioned as they sat around a fire in the dead of night. The entire team sat there, while Veran attempted to pursue Xalcak through the mountains, and likely failed. He would be returning soon, they all figured. He was a capable enough leader that nobody went after him. “I remember an old story about a warlord on this island...” Hark began. “Warlord? Here?” Rakis stifled her laughter. “Rakis…” Atel said. “Sorry…” Rakis muttered. Atel was always getting after her to be more polite. “Please, forgive my interruption. Go on.” She said to get Atel to quiet down. “Like I was saying, a warlord on this island.” Hark said, “He used the mountains to get away from the enemy forces pursuing him. He figured this island would let him counterattack. He climbed the mountains, and while the enemy was trying to go up after him, they neglected their flanks and were wiped out. The warlord hid his men among the mountain, so they just swooped in and ended it.” “Who was this warlord?” Clasis questioned. Hark shrugged, “Don’t know; I only know the story.” They could hear footsteps. It wasn’t the approach of Veran they were hearing, though. All of the Toa readied themselves, but when they saw two Matoran approaching, they sat back down. “Yuli, Ryza, you two shouldn’t be out here in the wilderness.” Sigil said. Yuli was a Matoran of Weather, clad in gold, black and yellow armor. Ryza was a Matoran of Electricity, clad in red, yellow and black armor. Both of them commonly accompanied the Toa when they traveled, mainly to help them navigate some of the more treacherous areas that they weren’t familiar with, but that Matoran were. Still, they never went this far out on their own, or at this hour. “We were worried about you guys.” Yuli said. Ryza nodded, “You didn’t use us; we figured you had gotten lost.” “We’re fine, as you can see.” Sigil said. “Oh, really?” Ryza questioned, “Where’s Veran, then?” “I’m right here.” He said, walking into the light of the fire. He sat down and shook his head, “I couldn’t follow him. I encountered some more Strievers and fought them. I caught one more glimpse of him, but he stopped me with his powers.” “Powers?” Seig asked eagerly. “Oh, right, you don’t know.” Veran said, “It seems that Xalcak can manipulate the area around him. The terrain and his own body are his weapon. He put his arm out as I got close, and he made a rock rise up and hit me. It dazed me…” They could see wounds across his armor from the ensuing fight. “The Strievers nearly got me that time.” It was his accursed pride. They all knew it, but they never said anything about it. Only Sigil would say it. “Your pride has to go.” He clenched his fists, “Fists are made for fighting; legs for carrying.” “Legs are made for fighting, hands for manipulating.” Veran countered. It was odd to watch them; they were a powerful combination, yet they had exactly opposite views that were in constant conflict. They managed to work through things, somehow, though. Veran looked to the two Matoran, “You two really shouldn’t have come on your own.” Footsteps. The Toa all rose to their feet, drawing weapons, getting ready, making a perimeter with the flames to their backs. “Get behind us!” Veran hissed. “It’s ok!” Yuli said, “Please, it is! These aren’t enemies!” “Who are they then?” Sigil questioned suspiciously. 999 A.G.C.: “With the information from Doppel Nui, brought by one of the workers, you are the fighting force of my island!” Princess Ishiza proclaimed to a group of fifty Matoran, “You, the public policing system, shall hold the peace of this island, unlike your predecessors. You will be a fighting force to keep order on my island, rather than a mercenary force to disrupt it!” The Toa of Weather shook her head as she watched from out a window of one of the tall buildings. She looked to the Toa of Electricity nearby, “Ryza, can you believe this?” Yuli questioned. “No.” Ryza answered, walking and looking out the window, “These guys are pathetic compared to what there used to be.” “Ishiza was a fool, that’s for sure.” Yuli said, “Disbanding the only force besides the Toa who could fight…what was she thinking?” “She likes to remain in control.” Seig said, walking into the room with Raiz. Raiz nodded, “The old force was out of her control; she didn’t like it very much.” “Then she should have put up with it!” Ryza said, “She’s a pathetic ruler.” “You just said exactly what happened.” Seig said, looking out the window, “She wants to remain in control; the old force was out of her control. She has money; they wanted money, more than she’s paying this force. She’s also greedy, so she didn’t give the money out to bend their wills to her. “Ishiza is a typical, greedy ruler afraid of losing power.” Seig said, “And she hates Toa.” He shook his head, “The sooner she goes, the better.” “What are you talking about?” Yuli questioned. “I’m sure a revolt will happen soon enough.” Seig answered, “And maybe the next ruler will actually listen to the will of the people. This island has been controlled by people like Ishiza for too long. Someone who listens to the people is desperately needed.” 50 B.G.C.: “We are the Island Defense.” A Matoran of Earth said, coming into view, wielding a blade and a shield. About seven other Matoran were around him, wielding blades and shields. “We’re a mercenary force. To the highest bidder our services go. Including protection from Strievers.” One Ta-Matoran said, “They paid us to help them get here. Time to pay up.” He held two swords, “Remember, we need our payments to continue to protect these people, or else we’ll go somewhere where they can pay. And then…well, you’ll never have me as leader of this island.” He said cockily, “Someone who will carve this island into a future of prosper.” Review
  3. Without further ado: That's all for now, however it's possible that there might be future additions. It should be noted that for the most part I developed the prefixes from the Māori Language, just as the original Canon prefixes were decided upon. Anyway, feel free to ask questions in this thread as we continue to seek to improve this aspect of our group. ~ ÅusårP.S. Special thanks goes to the following "C.I.R.C.L.E. 20. It is with great pleasure that we announce to our members that "The C.I.R.C.L.E." has officially decided to use GoogleWave for future non-voting discussions! GoogleWave is a Google-hosted messaging service that allows for quicker communication within a group such as ourselves. Each discussion gets its' own private "Wave" and anyone with an invitation can then contribute to the discussion without the rest of the world being privy to the conversation. Furthermore, GoogleWave saves all of the conversations, so there's no need to use your harddrive space to record them. Also, everything that you type is recorded in real-time. If you missed some of the discussion, you can just hit the "Playback" button and watch the conversation unfold in front of you. We believe that, with this tool, we can communicate easier over issues that arise within our group without the worry of the general public overhearing or the need to send out and reply to a mass of PMs. This is also helpful to discuss things that are to be kept private under the various "Non-Disclosure Agreements" we've all agreed to. You can sign up with GoogleWave by clicking the above posted image, then all you need to do is register for it with your e-Mail address. For those of you worried about you privacy, fear not, your e-Mail address is kept completely confidential. You simply create an @GoogleWave.com address, for instance: Åusår is ToaAusar@GoogleWave.comKohilå is KohilaIce@GoogleWave.comKoji is SirKoji@GoogleWave.comTalvak is Torchflare1234@GoogleWave.comMakar is Toa.Makar@GoogleWave.comZorrakh is Zorrakh@GoogleWave.comZahaki is GeneralZahaki@GoogleWave.comI'm still waiting to hear from other membersThe @GoogleWave.com address is then used to communicate with all our other members on GoogleWave without handing out your personal information that others might see. Everything is straightforward from there; you decide upon what you want your address to be, but please honor our request and choose something that is recognizably you for the @GoogleWave.com address so that communication isn't confusing for anyone. Once we have a sufficient amount of people on GoogleWave, we will open up with a discussion concerning our upcoming Contest. Those who join later will have the Wave sent to them as well so that they can catch up on the current events. I'll see you all there. B) ~Åusår

  22. ***** It's strange the things you think about when you find yourself on the cusp of finally reaching a goal that you've literally spent centuries pursuing. At the very least I find it peculiar the thoughts that enter my mind now that the most difficult part of this endeavor lies behind me. How many long decades have I spent studying texts of prophecies and the very stars themselves in hopes of illuminating the future and thereby crafting the proper team chemistry to fulfill my purpose? Mind you, some of their names were easy to find and their whereabouts quite obvious. Take for instance the He-Matoran Haiu, the Ina-Matoran Persh, and the Pe-Matoran Nentchā. At a very early stage in this process the heavens proclaimed to me that those three were destined for something more and all are quite well known to any resident of the Fortress at Kerma Nui and even to many of those living on the far side of Ota-Wahi. Next, and only slightly more elusive, were the identities of the Fe-Matoran Banpi, the Ki-Matoran Tahen, and the Tai-Matoran Sehem, yet with a bit of extra effort I was able to uncover them as well, bringing the total number of participants to six. Sometime later, I fortunately encountered a few more names in a rather obscure prediction, which positioned me tantalizingly close to solving this puzzle, as I had just one more piece left to find. Then that final part fell into place when the Ne-Matoran Ţeţ inadvertently dropped anchor near the Isle of Kush Nui. Yet, discovering all the ingredients for my design wasn't really the end of this tale, in fact, it can't even be called the beginning. No, the closest thing to the beginning of this narrative was actually several millennia ago. So, I'll tell you a bit more about that time in history, after all, isn't that what Turaga do? ***** Five Thousand Years Earlier . . .

Anyway, please comment below if you are interested in helping us out and we'll iron out the details from there. Thanks. ~ Åusår
