  1. Hello, everyone, Lewa0111 here! As several of you probably know, I recently held a vote in my blog for which of my prose comedies I would repost and update first, and the winner was this comedy, The BZ-Nui Hack Wars. As a result, I will be reposting old chapters once a day until I catch up to where I was originally, at which time I will try to write new chapters twice a week, most likely Wednesdays and Saturdays. For those of you who never read the original topic, this comedy is based on the true events surrounding the MiB hackings of BZPower's forums in the spring of 2009, during which I myself was hacked and temporarily banned. Several actual BZPower members who were a part of the original movement to get me unbanned (and several who weren't) applied to be in the original topic, and since the story wouldn't make sense without them, they will still appear. If you want to appear in the comedy, just let me know! My real-life college friend, who is known as Gabriella0111: Toa of Music here on BZP, also co-authored a few of the chapters (and was involved in the original events), so if I'm ever too busy to update sometime down the line, I might ask her to post the next chapter instead. And now, presenting... THE BZ-NUI HACK WARS A BIONICLE comedy by Me! Chapter 1: Lewa0111 Tava: Hey, cool! That's a lot of '1's in that title! By the way, did you know that '1' is the second number in Pi? Pi goes like this: 3.14159265358979323-- Random Guys From Monty Python: SHUT THE KARZAHNI UP!! Tava: Fine... *leaves* Author Me: Well, that was weird...this is supposed to be a prose comedy anyway! Oh well, on with the show! Deep within the tangled labyrinth of a planet that is the Internet, known as Cyber Magna, lies a secluded and largely-forgotten island called BZ-Nui. Its population of OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND! members, led by the almighty Staff, work hard to keep the island free of the constant plagues, spam, and all-around bad things that were constantly around the rest of Cyber Magna. Despite this, the occasional attack still occurred, such as the time the infamous Spam Trio, made up of conner, king at the sok factoree, and leeningtower of pizza, broke through BZ-Nui's gated walls and sprayed graffiti about things like 'do we rly hav 2 follow the ruls', 'brakelatabasaasta feed me ', and 'my foot on a toenail' all around the island. They were eventually captured, although the graffiti was left there, mainly because of how hilarious it all was. Or the time when a crazy Maori warrior went on a killing spree and destroyed several members before being banished forever. But all of these times, life went on...yet that was about to change... "Ouch! Darn Board Message..." groaned Lewa0111, massaging his hand where the large, metal Board Message had slammed shut on it, crushing the notebook in which he had been writing out the latest chapter of Ask Matau!. "Not again. Why do these things always show up whenever I'm about to post a comedy chapter?" Behind him, Toa Gabriella: Toa of Music laughed. "Make sure it wasn't the Rahkshi of Coincidence Control again...otherwise, I'd say it's just bad luck. I guess we'll both have to take a walk until this thing lifts." "Yeah, probably. I was planning on going over to Bioniclestory.com for a while--I heard there's a new story cereal up!" "Don't you mean 'serial?'" asked Lewa0111. "No, I mean 'cereal.' Haven't you heard of the new "Reign of Shad-O's?" Packed with 9999999999% of all nonessential vitamins and minerals! Perfect for evil universe masterminds!" "Uhh...I think I'll just say to that one," said Lewa0111. "Anyway, I'm not feeling too hungry right now. I'll probably be heading back to the Home Page to take a break for a while. Maybe tomorrow I'll try updating some comedies again, ok?" Gabriella shrugged. "Sure, I guess. I'll see you tomorrow then! Maybe sooner if I can manage it!" " " waved Lewa0111, leaving the blocked Comedies Forum and exiting through the main gates of the BZ-Nui forums, entering the Home Page. He noticed a large store currently selling the latest BIONICLE foam weapons, next to a newsstand with a headline proclaiming the release of said foam weapons. "Redundancy is redundant," said a random Matoran walking by. Lewa0111 nodded and sat down, opening his Word Processor and trying his hardest to recall as much of the chapter he had lost due to the Board Message. Just another typical day in BZ-Nui... * * * High above the steel walls of BZ-Nui, sitting inside a hot air balloon, two shadowy figures watched. No, they were not Jessie and James from Team Rocket, and if you thought they were, then I have a message for you: WRONG STORY! Anyway, they were just two generically shadowy and mysterious figures whose identity is not to be revealed at this time (although they are not Bob the Pirate and Joe the Coffee Rahkshi either). "There it is. Do you think we can get inside?" asked the first generically nameless shadowy mysterious figure. "We have to. There is no other alternative," said the second. "Wait, isn't 'other' already implied in the word 'alternative?' So basically you're saying 'other other option,' which makes no sense at all." "It makes perfectly sensical sense." "Redundancy is redundant!" said the same random Matoran who had passed Lewa0111 in the Home Page, flying by on a jetpack for no apparent reason. " " emoticonned the two mysteriously nameless generic shadowy unidentified figures as the random Matoran flew away. TO BE CONTINUED... 3. Introduction: Dear readers, My name is TNTOS. I'm a fanfic writer and have written and posted over 40 epics, comedies, and short stories over a seven year period on this website. Some were great, some weren't, but nonetheless each has helped me grow as a writer and I wouldn't be where I am today without them. Among my early works was a trilogy of epics known as the Shika Trilogy, consisting of The Tales of Shika Nui, Tapestry of Evil, and An Unlikely Alliance. Originally posted over a two year period, the Shika Trilogy chronicled the adventures of a Toa team composed of six former thieves on or near the island of Shika Nui (hence the title of the trilogy). It was never a particular popular trilogy, but it was my first ever completed trilogy and laid the foundation for my larger Shikaverse, the universe in which all my fanfiction (sans comedies) is set. Unfortunately, all three epics of the Shika Trilogy were lost when the BZP Archives were taken down earlier this year. I did not repost them, mostly because I did not believe they are a good representation of my ability as a writer (and they still aren't, by the way). Besides, if I ever wanted to reread them, I had them saved on files on an external hard drive, so nostalgia was not a good reason for reposting them, either. Recently, however, I have received a few requests from my readers to repost the Shika Trilogy, especially from readers who have not read it but want to. In addition, I am almost finished writing In the End, the epic that will be the finale to the Shikaverse as a whole. That epic does rely on a lot of ideas, concepts, and characters introduced in the Shika Trilogy, which most people would not understand without first reading the Shika Trilogy. With the arrival of the New Year, I decided that now would be a good time to repost the entire Shika Trilogy here in the Epics forum. Not only that, but I would repost all three epics in one topic so you can conveniently read the entire trilogy in one place (hence the use of "omnibus" in the title of this topic). I also believe the trilogy is more enjoyable when read as a whole, rather than read individually. Please note that the Shika Trilogy is NOT an example of my current ability as a writer. It is a reflection of who I was as a writer back in my younger days, when I was first learning how to write well. Whatever problems you notice, I am already aware of, so you don't need to write a comprehensive review pointing out every tiny error I have made. (If you want an example of my current ability as a writer, I suggest reading Dimension Hoppers or another recent epic in my library.) I am reposting this solely to make the Shikaverse more understandable for people who haven't read it, although if you have some comments to make you are welcome to share them in the review topic (link at the bottom of the post). Table of Contents: Book One: The Tales of Shika Nui Prologue Chapter 1: We Are.....Toa? Chapter 2: Dark Hunters! Chapter 3: Jokao Chapter 4: Revelations Chapter 5: All Out Battle! Epilogue Book Two: Tapestry of Evil Book Three: An Unlikely Alliance Now with that out of the way, let's kick off this omnibus with: Book One: The Tales of Shika Nui Prologue 25,000 years ago A huge battle ship sailed quietly through the sea of Shika Nui. Aboard the ship was a band of thieves, murderers, would-be tyrants and other lunatics, who were all hungry for battle and conquest. They were Dark Hunters. Under order of their leader, a dark and frightening being known only as the Shadowed One, they were sent to take control of this island, for it had a secret that they all were sure would suit the Dark Hunters cause well. A Dark Hunter, named Triglax, was standing at the wheel, steering the boat toward their destination. He was considered obnoxious by some and that might be true, though he'd never admit it, mainly because of his ego. What do any of them know about me anyway? Triglax thought as he steered the gigantic boat toward the mysterious island of Shika Nui. There is a good reason the Shadowed One chose me to lead this operation, because I am the most qualified to lead, of course. He was being sent, along with at least a dozen other well armed Dark Hunters, to take over this island they were heading. They would land there and kill the local Toa team and the Turaga who lead the island, thus giving them complete control over the entire island of Shika Nui. If all went well, then by nightfall, the island would be Dark Hunter property. And when we strike, Triglax thought, a smile creeping on his face. They won't know what hit them. Review Topic
  4. ~Author’s Note~ This is a repost of a short story from the old forums. It’s position in canon is somewhat more dubious than it was when I posted it, but I still think it’s legible. ~ A Strange Tapestry by Yukiko I wake, as usual, just on the edge of a scream. The first think that I see when I open my eyes is the soft light shining through the holes in the ceiling. I must trace those lines between light and dark. I must steady my breathing, let my eyes drop closed. I know I will not sleep, but I must appear so, while my ears catch every creak, every pebble falling on the floor. Now, as I force my body to relax, my mind can see my dreams in a different light. I have no idea how the fear seems so real, how it drives me panting from sleep. The dream is always the same, and it is always false. I remember the coliseum, the screams of matoran, the blood and the panic. That much is true. But I did not run. But you did, little toa. When you saw it was hopeless, you ran. How intelligent of you. No. I will not answer. I have learned this, from many nights and many struggles, that I will lose if I answer back. I must not show any reaction, for he can twist any argument I have with him. So I do not protest that I saved what matoran I could. I must concentrate on that icy awareness that keeps me still. If my muscles tense and my heartlight flashes faster, they will know that I am not asleep. And yet I cannot sleep now, for that is when the nightmares come. So I hold the line between sleeping and waking and wait for her to come. I do not know how much time passes be before I hear her footsteps. They are soft and cautious. We have all learned to walk like that, like we are treading on thin ice. It is the only way to walk without falling through. She puts her hand on my shoulder, and for a moment I am choking. The air is thick and poisonous, and it is not a hand but a claw, a claw sinking into me. I want to yell, to snarl, to fight back against the hand that grips me and the shadows and the wall and the lines between light and dark that are slow sharp that they cut me. I see spots of red, and then the spot churn and merge into a pair of crimson eyes that bore into me. I want to hurt the eyes too, stop the cold laughter that echoes in my head, stop everything. I want to lash out, flail, because the only thing that matters now is to get out. She shakes me. “Jaller.” I catch myself, force stillness and emptiness into my mind. Not yet, wait until she moves again. When she shakes me the second time, I open my eyes slowly, like someone who has been woken from a deep sleep. My joints must move without coordination, I must appear groggy and insensitive. My feet come to rest and I test the floor, swaying as I stand up. Instantly, the darkness in the room retreats as my eyes adjust, and I can see her clearly now. She looks at me. He eyes mirror mine, catching the light and reflecting it back better than any matoran’s. We are toa made for darkness. “Jaller,” she whispers. “How did you sleep?” Her eyes meet mine, the brows arched, seaming to look deeper into me. All my cleverly controlled movements, all my calculated drowsiness spoiled by that look. She knows. I know because I told her, and she comforted me. But I can’t bring myself to tell her the complete horror of it. I want to protect her as I have always wanted to, and I want to protect the others. I’ve kept that secret from them because I have to. I am a leader, and leaders must be strong. No, they must appear strong, for I have not been able to manage true strength for a long time. “The same,” I reply, returning her look. She opens her mouth and shuts it again, then nods and turns, walking towards the pallet on the floor where she sleeps. She gives me one last glance before she curls up, and her eyes are warm. I am grateful for that. I am grateful that she did not press me, did not demand a clearer answer. These days, she is the protector and I am the protected. We used to walk side by side, but now I am falling behind. Still, I am grateful for her protection. She is my sister, after all. Once, I thought I loved her in a different way, that there was a future with her that could mean so much more. Now, I realize that I need a sister far more than a lover. I do not hold secrets from her as I did before, and I trust her more than anything else. But how can she trust you? How can she, when she knows at anytime you could run, could give in to your fear? How do you know that she isn’t protecting the others from you? I do not answer. I leave the silence hanging. The hall of the great temple is smooth and unmarked, so different from the rest of the building. No cracks mark the curved walls, no pools of light interrupt the dark floor. The only sound I hear is my own footfalls, and these are soft, the sound of something touching something else and nothing more. Yet, there is something behind me. I must keep walking eyes straight ahead. There is nothing behind me, I can feel, it is not there. But it is, there was a shadow that moved, the shadow of thing about to pounce- I turn, sword raised. There is nothing. Soft laughter echoes through everything. I have to force myself not to turn or shout. The laughter is in my head and all around me. I fell for it. I proved my weakness. I am nothing but his toy. There was nothing behind me. I knew that. My eyes, adjusted to darkness of the ocean depths, easily take in the scene around me. And even if I close my eyes, my mask detects the shape of any object in any direction. And yet I turned. Perhaps he was right. Hahli does have reason to doubt me. But I am Jaller. I am a toa. I have held onto that, lately. My name and my existence are really the only things I have to stand on when I am alone. And even they are beginning to blur and change. The past feels like a dream, the island of Mata Nui seems aeons ago. Even walking down this corridor, I can’t stop myself from looking at my hands to assure myself that they are still there. They are scratched and scared, their armor rubbled smooth from constantly holding a weapon. I am close to my destination, but I allow myself to a little thought. There are many times where I look at myself and wonder how I got here. Who is this strange toa, staring back at me with eyes that glow in the dark? Where is Jaller, the Captain of the Ta-Koro Guard, a matoran set on protecting his friends? Sometimes, I wonder if he died a long time ago. I feel the widening in the hall before I see it. Suddenly, the space is wider and rounder, and I can hear the steady lap of water on stone. The pool in the middle is circular, its rim made of obsidian. Some long-dead carver had etched the enemies of our principles into the the glossy stone. Anger, Hunger, Disintegration, Shattering, Poison, Fear. A warning those for who would transverse the black tunnels under the Great Temple. I warning I will not heed. The surface of the water is hardly discernible from the stone; it is black and smooth, like glass. I stare into its depths. A turahk stares back at me. I do not scream, I cannot, the fear holds me too tightly. I can already feel the cool metal closing me in, stifling all feeling. A staff lands my hands, and it fits perfectly. What if you could be fear itself? To never feel, never to wake up at night sweating? To lose control without guilt? No. The rahkshi staring back at me is not my reflection. It is real. I have wrenched its staff away from my throat. I hold panic back, struggling with it as it hisses at me. All it takes is a little concentration, a little chink in the armor where its neck connects to its body. The turahk screams, and I know that the kraata within is burning, writhing as it shrivels and turns black. I have fought so many rahkshi that killing them almost easy. Almost. The empty shell disappears into the water, and I dive after it, breaking into the delicious cold. This only place I feel safe now, in the icy water that calms my mind and slows my heartbeat. When the light vanishes a few bio down, it does not matter. I can feel in the water so much better than in the air. Every little see creatures is a shape silhouetted against the emptiness. But the watery chamber is not broken by any new holes into the vast ocean. Wherever the rahkshi came from, it was not here. I will have to go deeper. I almost scrape the sides of the tunnel I choose as I swim through it. We had discounted it before, but now every nook and cranny is worth checking out. It suddenly stops. A dead end. On impulse, I swim up to the wall. The metal surface, though crusted with algae, is solid enough, but there is space above me, reaching up into light. I shoot up through it, my hands landing on the metal mesh of drain. It is hard to reach my sword in the narrow tunnel. I draw it out, and then slowly turn it upward. I thrust. Heat flows through me to the sword, and the metal contorts, turning red. I wrench the drain away, and it lands with a clang as I thrust myself back into the air. The room around me is almost completely destroyed. The floor is nearly covered with fallen pillars and rubble, and the ceiling is disintegrating, the stone crumbling away to reveal the metal framework beneath. It casts a spiderweb of shadows across the floor. The only recognizable thing in the middle of the destruction is a flat circular table, with the likenesses of toa carved on it. A Suva. It is not empty. Facing me, stone eyes unseeing, is a golden hau. I know that mask. It is the one I wore as a matoran, the mask Turaga Vakama took from Lhikahn and gave to me. A mask I promised to find again. I remember what Gali told me in the coliseum, that dreadful day when everything changed. The Toa Nuva had found it in the realm of Karzahni, after being defeated by Makuta Icarax. The nightmares of that place seem so far away compared, to now, so petty. I have learned there are far worse things than being shown a vision of my world destroyed. Now it has. Still, there is light. My fingers curl around the mask, and it comes away easily. I remove my arthron, and the space around me becomes only what I see. For a moment, the weakness and the blindness I feel almost spurs me to put it back on, but I overcome them and place the hau on my face. Go then. But look what happened to me. I rush to the pool and look at myself, searching to find some trace of the hero on my face. But the mask makes no difference. My eyes are hollow, they know too much. My armor is still scratched and covered with dirt and grime. You are not Lhikan. You could never be like Lhikan. He would have died in the Coliseum, died a hero. You are a toa made for darkness. A toa made for me. My hands grasp the edge of the pool. I want to run more than anything, to not answer him and go back into the water. But I cannot. The shadows of the roof run across my hands, threading them with light and darkness, like a strange tapestry. I am made of those threads of light and dark. “Yes...” I say looking at nothing. “I am a toa made for darkness...and a toa made for light.” It is simple now, to weave those threads of white and black into a shell around me that Makuta cannot touch. He could crush the light. He could pass through the darkness. But against both, he could do nothing. The best tapestries are made of many colors. “I am not Lhikan. Lhikan would have died a hero, because he could not stand a world with darkness. But I am Jaller, and I live!” I jump to my feet, my voice quiet and clear. A challenge. “I am a little star still shining at midnight. I am the darkness before dawn. And...I am afraid. But I will not run any longer.” For once, I do not know if it is me or the darkness that is laughing. For once, I do not care.
  5. Are they really so different? Need they really be destroyed? Brothers and sisters, common heritage unknown or overlooked You lashed out in spite, attacking one, waking all And here you are, acting like the victim Did you think they would not defend? Wouldn’t you? Ah, but these are “Bohrok”, and you are “Toa” Those names are unalike, so why think these beings the same? It is the Toa we celebrate, the Toa who have control There is no place for Bohrok, nor the change they seek to bring Rigidity! Be strict! Defend your narrow ways! Or else those bizarre Bohrok will assimilate you all! Please Is this how Toa act? Are you as noble as you claim? Surely the world is big enough for the Bohrok to exist They aren’t alien, they were here all along You never saw any? Of course you did They were hiding, and for good reason I’d hide too if all these Toa sought me out! It’s prejudice, plain and simple, don’t think you can deny Maybe you should take one of those Krana they offer you “Ugh, those disgusting things? They make my skin crawl!” So you’re not comfortable? Oh dear, how unfortunate I’m sure the Bohrok have no idea what that feels like An ugly truth, no matter how repulsive, is never any less true You are wrong. You don’t want to face that. No one ever does But would you believe that Bohrok and Toa can co-exist? GASP! How strange—but I assure you it’s true! As it turns out, you may not be so different after all So scratch that gold paint off your mask and take a step back Try holding a civil conversation with the Bahrag, if you can manage I wonder how soon it will be before you realize… All the reasons for your actions? They’re nothing more than hate “Matoran become Toa, the way Mata Nui intended!” Guess what? Bohrok were Matoran too “It’s not natural!” How strange, that Mata Nui would intend the “unnatural”… Then again, if it were “natural” after all… Oh, there I go—I should let you figure it out If I tell you, you’ll just run and tattle to the Turaga “Help! We’re being asked to see logic To confront it, and be kind! Since when was kindness one of our Three Virtues?” Virtues? What about Unity, then? Have you applied that doctrine lately? Seems someone’s been slacking on their Duty But fine, don’t listen to me, there’s still another Virtue And without a doubt, things are Destined to change Good luck fighting that! Maybe you won’t see it, but others surely will Bohrok will be allowed to exist with Toa in peace Extremists like you may have sealed the Bahrag, but it’s not over The Kal fought. They succeeded in at least waking the Bahrag Now they are active, and everybody knows it One day, after a long overdue revelation, You “Toa” will realize your mistake You’ll finally stop hating, and the Bohrok will be free Argue all you’d like, but stranger things have happened Well, I guess it’s time to wrap it up So tell me, “Toa”: what am I really talking about?
  6. Ehrye pushed open the crystalline door and strolled into the room. “Nuju, I have a delivery for you!” Not taking his eye off the telescope, Nuju said, “I have told you before, Ehrye: you must learn to knock.” “Well…do you want the delivery or not?” Nuju sighed. The scholar turned and snatched the tablet from Ehrye’s hand, noticing that its cloth covering had been unfolded. He gripped the item tightly. “You opened it.” Ehrye tried to back away slightly. “Well, I was curious. If I’m going to be a scholar someday, I need to start learning as much as I can. It’s some fascinating research you and Jaa are working on! I was wondering—“ Nuju held up his hand to silence the messenger. Very slowly, he walked over to his desk, set down the tablet, and then tapped his fingers a few times. Before long, he leaned down to open the bottom drawer and pulled out a stack of dusty tablets. He set them on the table, turned to Ehrye, and pointed to them. “Take these to Tower 19.” Ehrye’s eyes widened. “19?! You’re kidding!” Nuju said nothing. Remembering that the scholar never liked to repeat a request, Ehrye sullenly gathered the stone slabs into his bag and headed out the door. Tower 19 was far from Nuju’s tower, all the way at the border to Onu-Metru. But it wasn’t the long trip that bothered Ehrye. This particular Knowledge Tower had been designated as storage for things the scholars no longer saw any use for, with the intention being that they could be safely preserved until someone had use for them once more. However, in Ko-Metru, things with no further use for the future were considered little more than trash, and Tower 19 had become a thing of disgust. Nothing that went through its doors was ever seen again, earning its reputation as “the graveyard of ideas.” Scholars made use of it due to encouragement from Turaga Dume, but rarely travelled there themselves, leaving it a derogatory task assigned to messengers as punishment. This would be Ehrye’s tenth visit…or perhaps twelfth? He had lost count after dropping off Jaa’s disproven Spirit Star Theory. Regardless, it never became any less humiliating. When Ehrye stepped through the doors, he immediately spotted the tower’s caretaker asleep on his desk. He kicked the piece of furniture, providing enough vibration to jolt the old Matoran awake. “Huh?! Oh, Ehrye. Back so soon?” Ehrye scowled. “I have some old prediction logs from Nuju. Where do you want me to file them?” The caretaker mumbled to himself and went over some notes he had hastily chiseled down. The process took longer than Ehrye had hoped, but eventually he was directed to the far corner of the first floor, where an ancient cabinet topped with a pile of relics stood. Ehrye tried the door. It was stuck. He pulled harder to no avail, and then decided to give a violent tug. All he succeeded in doing was burying himself in a rain of debris. “Clean that up!” the caretaker shouted. “If it’s so difficult, then just leave the tablets there and I’ll put them away myself.” Ehrye dug himself out and sat up. A dizzy feeling overcame him, alerting him to the fact that his mask had been dislodged in the avalanche. Blindly grasping for it, he cut himself on the jagged edge of some glass object. Oh great. When at last he found his mask, Ehrye reattached it and sighed with relief. He took a good look at what he had cut his hand on: half of a broken globe of black glass with ancient star charts printed on it. Despite himself, Ehrye chuckled. This artifact was more infamous in Ko-Metru, for it was something else that became no less humiliating over time. Ages ago, an eccentric scholar had theorized that the world they inhabited was round and floated inside a shell imprinted with stars, which spun as the stars changed. Once the domes were discovered, that particular scholar had disappeared rather quickly. It seemed like a good place to start. Picking up the shattered globe, Ehrye stepped towards the ladder granting access to the top of the cabinet, but something made him pause. A tiny tablet could be seen inside the remains of the globe. Fishing it out, Ehrye squinted—tiny lettering had been carved into the piece of stone. Ehrye had trained himself to read small print (through reading the many detailed tablets of scholars that he had been tasked with delivering), so he was just barely able to make out the words: “In Ko-Metru, find where sky and ice are joined.” Ehrye frowned. What is this supposed to be? He absent-mindedly turned the stone over. On the side opposite the riddle, there was an image of a Kanoka with the code 429. A Great Disk. Gradually, the confusion gave way to surprised awe. Is this…a clue to finding Ko-Metru’s Great Disk?! The caretaker yawned loudly. Remembering that he was being watched, Ehrye tucked the stone into his bag and hurriedly cleaned up the mess. Once he was back on the street, he slipped into an alleyway and took another look at the small tablet. Ehrye was unsure how to proceed. If this really was a clue to the Great Disk’s location, he could easily rise to the rank of scholar—maybe even higher. But was a hint such as this really so reliable? It was likely planted by that eccentric scholar, and if he could be so wrong about one thing, perhaps he was wrong about this as well. He cast a glance back up at Tower 19. Cracks ran all along the crystal’s length, and there were places where entire chunks had been torn out. Ehrye smiled. If it’s wrong, no one will know. I’m not going to miss my chance. He ran off towards his next stop, already wondering which Knowledge Tower his office would be placed in.
  7. I grabbed my 3DS and leaned back, letting out a sigh of relief before I unfolded the device. Oi, that was a long day… My mind started to drift as the system turned on. Noticing my backpack over on the table, I suddenly remembered all the homework I still had to do. …Meh, it won’t take that long once I put my mind to it. I’ll just play for a little while and unwind first. So, I started playing. When I next looked up, the clock read 10 PM. This was how the past several days had gone: I would remember my schoolwork, talk myself into playing a game instead, and then forget all about it until the last possible minute. With a curse, I leapt to my feet and scrambled to my pack, pulling out the first assignment I found and swiftly completing it. It was sometime around 2 that I finished everything. I sluggishly stuffed the papers back into my bag, but one slipped out and fell to the floor. I picked it up—it was a quiz I had just recently gotten back, though more than a few points were missing. Usually I did better than this, but for some reason I just hadn’t been able to focus. I was more preoccupied with… Oh, come on. Video games alone can’t make my grades fall like this. True, my grades had fallen recently, but it seemed doubtful that the video games were the sole factor. I’ve been playing games when I should’ve been doing homework for years now, and results this negative were a recent occurrence. There was no causality there…right? I flopped into bed and tried to sleep. Unfortunately, the problem nagged at me. What if the games were getting to me? It would be stubborn not to at least consider the possibility…still, what changed, then? I guess some of my more recent games were from a new series, but the one pulling me away at this point was one of the oldest of the old. Well…maybe it’s cumulative? Hm, that sounds kind of ridiculous… Rolling over, I cast a glance at the clock. 3 AM, meaning I had maybe four hours to sleep. Ugh, I really don’t want to go to that stupid physics class tomorrow… It wasn’t that the subject was uninteresting, but I felt that the teacher didn’t do a very good job of presenting it. The early time certainly didn’t help. Still, it was the only time I could get, and it was required for my new major that I— Wait… I sat up. Of course—I had just changed majors this semester! I always did well in my classes before this semester, but I had thought that switching to a science degree would be wiser. The problem was that I just could not muster up enough interest to legitimately care about most of what I was learning in these new classes. So it’s the classes, not the games. Okay… Finally feeling relaxed enough to sleep, I collapsed and muttered that I would switch back to my old major sometime soon. Something still nagged at me, though: even if my game-playing habits weren’t becoming any worse, that didn’t mean that they weren’t still detrimental. …Fine, I’ll try to manage my time a little better. I managed to get a little sleep before dragging myself out of bed for physics. As I headed for the door, my hand hovered over the 3DS. I…guess I’m too tired to play anyway…maybe later.

Also colors are as close to there real life counterparts as Ldd will allow)Comments and criticism appreciated Edit: Please keep posted images in BBC to 100 kB. Images linked~ -Wind-
  9. Here is Gerald Spectrum.BioGerald Spectrum was a test to make a Hero that could charge his core from sunlight. They made Gerald an XL to maximize the amount of light he could absorb. The only problem is that his armor became multi colored as a result. He was given a multitude of weaponry and was tasked to keep MakuHero City safe. He doesn't go out on missions like other heroes due to the fact that he needs sunlight to keep his core charged.Fronthttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_001.jpgRight Sidehttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_002.jpgBackhttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_003.jpgLeft Sidehttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_004.jpgHis massive Trio Sword- It can shoot Fire, Ice, Lightning or any combination of the 3http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_005.jpgAnother pic of the swordhttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_006.jpgHis large Hex Energy Shield shaped in like the H logo of Hero Factoryhttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_007.jpgHis twin jet thrusters which allow him to fly.http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_008.jpgAnd finally his Twin Spectrum Cannons- These draw in light and fire off a multicolored laser.http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/gerald_spectrum_real_009.jpgComments and criticism appreciated Edit: All of the pictures exceed 100 kB, the limit in BBC, so I had to link them... -Wind-
  10. [This is being reposted due to the database backup. Thanks, Google Cache! Unfortunately, the cache only had the first person's comment, so I'm going to post that below as well to save them the trouble. If you want to repost your comment, please go right ahead! But I more or less remember what you've said, so no serious need. Let's start pulling ourselves together again!] Original post: I've returned with a new story. I call it the Chrysalis Saga, and a few of you might have seen the quiet advertisement in my signature for a while now. I haven't been very active on these forums for a few years, so I realize it will be challenging getting a readership and feedback on my story. But like before with my This World series and later the broader Absolutity collection, I intend to write and post the best stories that I'm capable of. Reviews, while important and deeply appreciated, are not expected or required. Still, it is nice knowing that someone's reading and enjoying. So I thought I would reboot my blog and give it a new theme, mainly centred on the Chrysalis Saga but probably including other things. I haven't decided yet if I will delete all the old entries, as they're not relevant and I don't want to confuse any newcomers to the blog. Not sure about that yet, though. Here's a summary and a to-do list that I'm focused on right now: Status of the Saga The first epic is not yet fully written, but in good progress. The length is not quite determined, but I know it will be at least twenty chapters of about 10 pages each. I'm willing to predict thirty chapters or more, though. And by "good progress," I mean I'm writing it regularly, two or three times a week. The name of the first epic is "The Play of Light." The Saga has been in the works for over a year. I first got the idea for what I wanted to centre a story around way back in 2011, and it only started to take on real form (that is, the chrysalis began to spin!) in spring 2012. I started an actual outline that summer, which I have added to and expanded for the past year into a master document of the ideas, plots, characters, themes, and so forth. It is not at all a definitive plan of what I will write - I leave that up to the magic of the writing process - but it is a guideline for the overall impression I want to leave the reader with. Not giving a date for when this will start being posted yet. But the fact that I've rebooted my blog means it's closer than when I wasn't blogging. 2013 Goals Signature banners, one for this blog and one for the epic once it's up. I need a proper image and caption, so I'll be looking around the internet for something that I feel suits each. I'm sure once I find them, it'll only take me half an hour to slap them together in Pages and upload. Establish the look of this blog. Decide whether I should delete the pre-Chrysalis entries. Start reading & reviewing a few other writers' work. Although I love bonesiii's Paracosmos and made time for it during full time university, I realize I need to broaden my horizons and rebuild my connections in the writing community on BZP. The above means that I want your stories! If you have an ongoing story, or a story written by someone that you think I'd love (and is being posted on the BZP forums), please send it to me! Other Notes I'm no longer a Staff member (well, I'm in a weird limbo group between the regular membership and Staff, apparently, lol. But it hasn't manifested itself in any obligations, so I'm fine with that). This means I don't have those extra BZP duties that I did before, which I honestly think is great, as I can focus completely on the epics and short stories communities. I also need to set BZP as my front page so I see it every time I visit the internet. I also no longer am part of the team managing the Expanded Multiverse. I talked with bones about this a long time ago and let him know that I couldn't spend the time on that project anymore. It still saddens me, and part of me wants to get back in, but I won't do that until I'm absolutely sure I can commit long-term. As a matter of fact, I need to find out what's going on with the EM canon right now, and catch up if there's been anything happening since I stopped my BZP activity. I'm still in university, but part time. 1 class per term, this fall and next winter. So far, I've had a lot of leisure time outside of the one class, so I'll just have to re-teach myself to spend that time on BZP more than other things. Re-integrate into my daily routine, basically. I'm working full time with Apple Inc. That's a solid 40 hours a week, but again, I have a lot of leisure time outside of this, and I've felt so much freedom this year for writing this story. That should only improve once I finish the winter semester course. I'll stop there now. That's my update. Please consider this my humble "Hey, I'm back" entry. Thanks for reading! (Credit for image goes to Naomi Bardoff, an artist and blogger I've followed recently. Will add link once I've determined it's an appropriate link for BZP.)
  11. Official topic, as approved by Makaru. Reposting this topic because I got confirmation from B6 that the pictures were fine to post after all. Ironic that on the same day a topic was created and locked, finalized pictures are found. Over at the site spielwaren-hegmann.de), finalized pictures (with no confidential markings) of the Hero Factory Winter 2012 sets have been found, along with their official names. I compiled the pictures into a gallery that can be found here. Heroes: Rocka - $12.99Furno - $12.99Breez - $12.99Evo - $7.99Surge - $7.99 Villains: Thornraxx - $7.99Toxic Reapa - $7.99Jawblade - $7.99Splitface - $12.99Black Phantom - $19.99 Of note are, obviously enough, the presence of only five heroes and five villains respectively, as well as the heroes and villains being divided into two sizes; the normal villain size and the standard hero size. Other notable things include the fact that all Heroes are equipped with a pair of handcuufs that utilize a new piece alongside the chain piece used in Hewkii Inika, and a redesigned Thornax Launcher (top half is a new piece, bottom half is a Thornax Launcher). Also Black Phantom is surprisingly epic win. I didn't think he would be. Discuss. -Mesonak

  14. Okay, since the forums are back up, allow me to present, Chibi World 3! Here is my original topic:http://www.bzpower.c...howtopic=327611 Kopaka NuvaWhile I did get a Kopaka Nuva, I traded for him, meaning he didn't have any weapons or his mask. As such, I replaced his Kanohi of that from Matoro McToran, and gave him his iceblades from one of the Lego Agents sets. Also my second design of something I've been tinkering with for awhile, making the smallest chibi possible. TurahkThis is one I initially put off doing, since I figured the Rahaga were practically Rahkshi chibs. However, I was bored during the downtime, and I figured there were enough differences. Plus, he looks pretty good. Gorast NewThis is one I made a little while back, but I only recently found the pieces. I forgot how much fun it was to build chibis with extra limbs. Meltdown NewI built this one just for you, Makuta Dralcax. I hope you like him. Nuparu NewSorry the weapon's blocking his body. I'll post new pics soon so you can see him better. Here's my Gallery for more angles along with shots of all my previous chibis.

  16. This is my entry to the Hero Factory Recon Building Contest. The archived versionI decided to repost in the BBC this time because I might catch a different crowd here. Anyway, the Cryoboctonid is a beetle/scorpion-like creature that inhabits the jungle planet Quatros. Preferring colder climates, their uncanny ability to detect temperature changes allow them to determine when prey is near. The name is based off of the scorpion family Caraboctonidae. Now, to the pictures: Entry Front Side Back Top Stinger The jungle picture above Implanted with Quaza (new) Gallery (when public)Thanks for looking!
