  1. Hey Bionicle community! I’ve been watching & reading BZ Power content for a while now but as this is my first post, I just want to say it’s an honor to be here & it’s a great community to be a part of with so much great content! So based on the title of this post I’m sure you all can figure out what it’s about. Like the rest of us, I’m super hyped about this new TTV canon contest, and I really want to participate. However, I’ve never been the most phenomenal at Bionicle MOCs, so I thought I’d take a different direction – the canisters! Obviously canisters, at least in Bionicle G1, were a big part of the Bionicle universe, & I think as we’re doing this canon character contest and having things verified as canon, it would be cool for them to come with canisters (lots of words that start with C I know). I’d really like to design & create these canisters, & I’m willing to do it for each & every contest that will be held. (Just a sidenote: I’m also open to creating boxes if the “set” requires it, but I’m more passionate about the canisters) The reason why I like to do this is two-fold - 1, because of my passion for Bionicle, & 2, because of my passion for design. From a young age I always loved to build and create, & that’s actually what I went to college for! I’m proud to say that I have a degree in product design with a solid skill set around CAD and 3-D printing, sketching, model making, & general design principles. I’d really like to utilize the skills & sort of give back to the Bionicle community. As far as how this would work, personally I think it would work best to design the canister after each character is finished, just to help me tie it in together (to the character/mask) and also let the original MOCist do their work without me influencing it. I would love to even make the actual canisters & gift them to the winners & maybe even send some to TTV to review on their YouTube channel as a set. And obviously I’m open to any ideas the community might have for how I could go about structuring/creating these canisters! So long story short: I’d like to join the TTV cannon contest by creating canisters for each character & then sending them out to the winners & TTV. I would love to get in contact with Greg & the cast members to make this official, but I’m not sure exactly how (if anyone knows, please let me know. Update- I did send Eljay a message). I’m really looking forward to the opportunity of working with such a great community. Anyways, that’s a lot of text. But please, let me know your thoughts & comments about this idea! I'll be using this thread to post my progress photos, which are also on the TTV message boards (obviously lol), Reddit, & Instagram (all with the same username). My first round of sketches is posted below. Please please please give feedback! I would love to know how I can improve this design as I go through the process. I’d love to hear from you guys & I would value your input greatly. Let’s continue to keep the legend of Bionicle alive! #Unity #Duty #Destiny
  2. I don't really have any rules for this thread. What makes your bionicle collection unique? Is it a rare part you have, or perhaps specific memories with the sets you own? Or maybe you have mocs that no one else does? Why are you glad you have your collection and not someone else's I've been officially collecting Bionicle since 2007, and I've spent a good amount of time rounding out my '01 rahi collection. One thing that I have that not many other collections do are mnog-only rahi like Mahi and Brakas. I also have a custom resin vahi crafted for me by ZiosCustomLego on Etsy. What do you all have that's unique?
  3. HelLO tHerE SwEeT ChILd... So today I visited a secondhand Lego store in my area. They had a small lot of Bionicle parts, with an unusual amount of Noble Huna's. A blue one (and a near complete McToran Maku body to boot, only missing the disk for Love Isn't Canon Day too!), an orange Huna, and the marbled black & silver one from Tehutti. I shoved them all into my parts bag and bought them, only to realize later, upon close inspection the Tehutti Huna was damaged. Honestly the only way I can describe it, since its not super visible from the photos, is it looks like somebody stepped on it! Ouch! The right side of the mask got stretched out and bent with several scratches. I already have a intact Tehutti Huna from that set, so the gears in my head started turning and I realized this broken piece offered an opportunity to do something unique. I found some Citadel brand paint at a local gaming store, and got to work: After a few layers of paint (turns out Citadel has some really neat mud textured colors), and I felt I got a really neat broken infected mask. Had to try it out on my G2 Vakama and the Tehutti set: Now Tehutti: Here it is side by side with the pristine Tehutti mask I have: Lastly, alone on a mask stand. Looking at it straight on you can really tell how the right side of the mask (our left) is stretched out due to the damage it has:

  5. I just spent a good two hours removing the picture from a standard Ice Slizer throwing disk, trying very carefully not to damage the plastic: The result isn't perfect, but still considerably better than my previous attempts. The surface of the disk turned out rough and canvas-like with several small "patches" of sorts in the texture, but nothing awfully conspicuous. Anyone interested in obtaining it can feel free to make me an offer.
  6. Hello everyone! I will try in this forum with these question, because I know someone here can know something of this. I searching in various posts some tips of work with resin, but the information sometimes is something diffuse, are here my questions: What resin have similarity in the results to the lego plastic in quality? I read too the quality of the mold material is important too, what type of material can be used for make a mold for a kanohi? And a little question about painting Exists a technique and/or type of paint for painting the balljoints where the paint will not get out of the piece because the friction? Regards
  7. Toa Hagah A customized complete collection. Updated Full Gallery (High Res): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=551204 Toa Bomonga Element: Earth Weapon: Seismic Spear Mask: Kanohi Krodan, Mask of Growth ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Toa Gaaki Element: Water Weapon: Tidal Spear Mask: Kanohi Pamatae, Mask of Clairvoyance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Toa Kualus Element: Ice Weapon: Sub-Zero Spear Mask: Kanohi Zilor, Mask of Rahi Control ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Toa Pouks Element: Stone Weapon: Avalanche Spear Mask: Kanohi Sakron, Mask of Emulation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I've wanted to do this project for forever. For those of you who don't know, we only got two of the six Toa Hagah as legit sets, and the other four were never pictured. We DID, however, know about their masks, and they are unique masks, never-before-seen. So the major hurdle to making good Toa Hagah MOCs is having four cool, unique Kanohi. (Sure, Toa Norik's Kanohi bends the rules, and is shaped like a different mask than it actually is. So, giving the remaining four Toa "old" masks and claiming that the same thing is going on with them COULD work. But to me, that's an enormous cop-out.) Gaaki and Bomonga have Kanohi pieces from the old Final Fighter knock-off Chinese/Russian sets (see below for info,) and Pouks and Kualus have what are (in my opinion) the only two Hero Factory heads that could even possibly be considered to look like decent Kanohi. There's a reason why I think it's an awesome idea to make the Toa Hagah as MOCs, as opposed to the Mangai or Helryx or any of those others. Since we've SEEN two of the Hagah, and since they have such defining characteristics, (metallic armor, spears that use pre-existing pieces, shields, Metru-style bodies,) then you can actually make a logical assumption about the appearances of the other four. They can be recognizable. You can make the best Toa MOC ever and call it one of the nameless Toa Mangai... but no one will know that that's what it is just by looking. So I've always wanted to make the Hagah because they are so distinctive, that (I hope,) you can just look at Gaaki and go, "Hey, that's supposed to be Gaaki, right?" A lot of pieces were spray-painted for these MOCs. The gold and silver colors were impossible for me to match exactly, but I'm very happy with how close I was able to come. I put a lot of thought into which pieces should be used and tried several permutations. I almost gave them all some sort of shin-armor but decided it just didn't look good on most of them. I kept it on Bomonga to give him the heavy/beefy look. To anybody who is about to say, "B-b-but, Pouk's mask is already depicted on that one Matoran from that one comic that one time!!!1!" I have only this to say: that mask pictured.... Am I the ONLY one who thinks that that is CLEARLY just a Jutlin seen from the side? Am I the only one? I can't be. I reject your reality and substitute my own. Tyvm. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sidenote of Sadness: What I've ALWAYS wanted to do for the Toa Hagah was to have the four Toa wear the four masks from the Final Fighter/Unbeatable Warrior Blocko "Toa" sets. (See http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=550791) A long, long time ago, like eight years ago, I bought the two pictured (the red and blue ones) on ebay, but I've NEVER found the green or yellow ones (also pictured) anywhere. And I have looked, and looked. I've been on more shady Russian wholesale websites than I can count. They are just impossible to find. But, out of sheer collector-stubbornness, I periodically will look around the internet, to see if I can find those elusive "Toa." About 6 weeks ago, it LOOKED like I'd finally struck paydirt. I found a Russian Bionicle fansite, put out an add... and got a hit! I was sooo excited that I set out to finally do this Hagah project that I'd been dreaming of! I ordered all the parts and prepared to paint. And I was so enthralled by this project, that I decided to do my Rahkshi project (see my sig) too! Everything was going to work out! But alas... it apparently was not meant to be. The guy who was supposed to sell me the parts (who will remain nameless).... I cannot even describe how bewildering an individual the guy was. There are no words. If you want to read the mind-melting, "what the heck?"-inducing, disappointing conversation that took place between us over a period of six WEEKS, you can find it here. (Pay attention to the dates.) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6210799 Weep, my friends. And I'm sorry I could never get a hold of TRULY unique Kanohi for the last two. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to do an update someday. Update 3D-printed remake masks. Better? Worse?
  8. A common lava creature found in the volcanic region of fire. The lava toad has the ability to spit lava and magma from his gaping jaws. They feed on parasites and ash which are found pretty much everywhere in the region of fire. Lava Toads have huge mouths and have a very complicated digestive system. A large capable beast which roams the icy plains of Okoto. It bears huge claws for creating grip when trudging along in the ice and snow. They are found in herds which have been known to make numerous attacks on Islanders passing by. The Seabirds are common elegant birds. They fly in flocks and have a rather gentle way of flying. Seabirds dive at impossible speeds into the water to fish out small inhabitants of the sea. Seabirds have excellent vision and can spot the slightest movement from a mile away. Stone Ussals are strong dangerous creatures. They have the strength to take down a full-size Toa. On their back the have a large spiky crystal. This could bring down a cave and the Ussal would emerge unarmed. Luckily, these creatures dwell deep down in large caverns. Islanders who mine sometimes come across them and few are lucky enough to escape alive. Sand Syrens are extremely rare and quite unpredictable. They have a huge third leg with a flat foot. This helps them to trudge along the sand in their herds. So far only two herds have been seen by Islanders but there are believed to be others. Many have returned without their hearing abilities due to the Syrens' ear-splitting call.
  9. Since it's been a while since I did anything on my last thread, I thought I'd make a quick update! Just to recap, here's part of the description from my old thread: "Hello and welcome! I enjoy creating a lot of custom chrome LEGO parts and I thought I would make a portal to all of my custom creations for sale. I'll try to keep all of these entries current and as best updated as possible. This store is very WIP right now, so please let me know if there's anything I can do to improve it!" "All of my masks have been specially coated to be durable and long lasting! No paints have been used!" Currently I'm having a clearance on all of my old items so that I can make room for new stock! Here's some of the SALES going on so that I can clear some of my inventory (please note that sales don't account for shipping) -I've marked all of my BIN prices on Ebay down by 25% on all of my loose masks! -Additionally, anyone who wishes to purchase any masks directly on BZP with paypal I'll be willing to give another 10% off discount after that! -Lastly, for anyone wanting to purchase 6 five or more loose masks on BZP with paypal, I'll throw in and ADDITIONAL 10% DISCOUNT after both the 25% and 10% Here's a list of everything after the discounts IF you are purchasing them on BZP with paypal: (chrome gold) Mask of Jungle $20 $13.50 - 7 left (chrome gold) Mask of Water $20 $13.50 - 2 left (chrome gold) Mask of Ice $20 $13.50 - 5 left (chrome gold) Mask of Earth $20 $13.50 - 6 left (chrome gold) Skull Spider Mask $20 $13.50 - 5 left (chrome gold) Protector Mask sold! five or more loose masks listed above^^^ $100 $60.75 Full set of 8 (including chrome gold fire and stone masks) $160 $108 - 4 sets left! For those wanting to purchase masks directly through ebay instead, here's the links to all of my ebay entries: Chrome Gold Masks of Jungle Chrome Gold Masks of Water Chrome Gold Masks of Ice Chrome Gold Masks of Earth Chrome Gold Skull Spider Masks Lot of 8 Chrome Gold masks I would also like to thank everyone here who has made purchases for my chrome masks! It's great to see that there has been so much support for my chromed LEGO pieces and I intend on doing much more in the future! As for chrome gold Masks of Creation? If no one was aware, there was a few internal issues the past several months that have prevented me from creating more gold-colored parts. I appreciate everyone's patience and please stay tuned as I'm doing everything in my power to get them finished! In the meantime, I'd like to sell the rest of these masks to make room for the Chrome Gold Masks of Creation (and some other surprises as well!) But when these masks are gone, THEY'LL BE GONE FOR GOOD! So please consider supporting my chroming endeavors; even a little bit can go a long way! Thank you for your support, Mason
  10. So I went to add more masks to my other post, but as it turns out there's a maximum number of images per post even when they're externally hosted. Who knew? Anyway, here's some masks. First off we have a few conversions. And the rest are plain old paint jobs. EDIT: More masks more masks more masks more masks more masks more masks more masks more masks more masks! As usual, I have more stuff on DeviantArt, Flickr, and Tumblr to anyone interested, and if you want to buy anything shoot me an e-mail at modaltcom@gmail.com.
  11. Hi. So, I want to ask. Let´s say, I would be able to make Trans-Purple Kaukau. I bassicaly have all what I need, now just waiting for Dye to arrive. Do you think, that making an auction, for let´s say, 4 of them, for 30$ per one, is fair? Cause, you know, there haven´t been salo of one for quiet looong time. Is there anyone who would want one? Is there so many peoples that want them, so 4 wouldn´t be enough? Let´s just say, I would managed to make them, and sell them, for atleast 30$ per piece. Then what? I would try to replicate Transgrenie (Or how it was called) Miru and Metallic Purple Akaku... Would you be interested in them too?
  12. I'm considering a project that requires some sculpting, but I did a quick Google search and couldn't really find anything that detailed the sort of thing I wanted, so I figured I'd ask around... The gist of it would basically come down to modifying a headpiece (probably Luke Skywalker's, since his is the closest to what I want) by sculpting a hood onto it. I'll probably have to paint it afterwards, unless whatever sculpting material I use is already the right color (something close to Earth Green, for the record). Just to make it a bit more complicated, this would probably be a Christmas present for my youngest brother--and while he's old enough to understand the concept of "be careful with it," the piece will still probably see a lot of play. It needs to be pretty darn sturdy, is basically what I'm saying. Since I've never done anything remotely like this before, I want all the information I can get before I actually start work on the thing. Any advice would be much appreciated!

  14. In this topic, you create your own custom Mask Powers! They can be as unique, redundant, silly, or as awesome as you wish them to be. And, you can include a subsequent named Mask along with it, and maybe even a design if you so wish! I'll start... Rebirth - The Mask of Rebirth - If the user dies while wearing this Mask, than soon after death they will be revived as a Flaming Phoenix, regardless of their element. They will still have the same powers and abilities as they did prior to their death, but the only difference is their appearance, and the fact that they can't die while in this form. However, there is a limit to how many times that they can be Reborn, between 1 - 4 generally. Ready? GO!
  15. sure many know the story of Karzahni and despite the nine years since the creation of this character has never died (although dies in history), but it has always been the courage to pass this character drawing to physical creation. aspect as this model does not focus entirely to version of the book however was fundamentetal to work more easily, so even replace certain items will not remove the original essence an example of this it was to eliminate the center belt with skull but these were replaced by skull spiders "like kneepads. previous mask designs: final version of the mask
  16. So recently after a (failed) attempt at casting some bionicle 2015 parts... I figured using DIY silicone putty wasn't going to cut it very well when putting mask molds together. So I dropped 30 bucks on some legit tin-based liquid silicone for mold making and gave mask making another go. Same mask as my very first attempt last winter, with more or less the same techniques. And here are the results! Kanohi Rau The mold: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6311224 Side-by-side comparison: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6311225 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6311225 Spray painted duplicates (Bonus Ta Matoran): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6311226 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6311227 (UPDATE) Dyed resin: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6313152 (UPDATE) Kanohi Kaukau The mold: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6309106 Comparison: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6309107 Matoran: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6309108 The pics don't really do it justice, but trust me, the mask is just as glossy as a fresh-out-the-canister 2001 kanohi (though unfortunately the silicone picked up some of the handling ware on the surface). The best part is silicone molds can be re-used hundreds of times as long as you don't stress them too much, and clean them properly. The mask is glossy and fits nice and snug on mata and metru toa heads. Some imperfections on the surface were due to some errors in the casting and mold making, as this was my first time creating a mold from pourable silicone. I should be able to avoid these in the future. Other than some super tiny bubbles hidden away behind the mask, and greater light passage due to the type of plastic used, the final product was more or less a near-perfect replica of the original mask. Once I've practiced the method enough, I may put together a tutorial video on how to cast masks out of resin.

  20. So I have been looking for inspiration for custom bionicle masks lately(I'm talking all new masks, not repaints), so feel free to post pictures and discuss custom masks below! What methods do you prefer? 3d printed, clay, or the ol' cut and superglue method(my personal favorite)?
  21. 3D-Printable Kanohi Updated 2-25-15 Full Gallery (High Res) (when public) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=410271 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope this is an OK forum for this topic. These "creations" are certainly "Bionicle-based." Let me start by saying that I am an extremely n00b-ish, amateur 3D modeler. I do not claim nor guarantee that these are of amazing quality. But I was really bored and if you've read my Toa Hagah topic (see sig), it's obvious how much I want the impossible-to-find Blocko knock-off Kanohi. So I decided to try my best to make them myself, and that spiraled into all the stuff you see below. These are all for sale on Shapeways. My shop is at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/masksforall I'm not selling these to get rich, (my markup on each is only $3,) I'm selling them so that anyone who wants them can have them! Again, I'm a verrrryyy new 3D modeler, and these are not of jaw-dropping quality. But it realllllyyyy grinds my gears that there are at least 3 people I've seen online who have made awesome Boinicle stuff via 3D printing.... aaand then never offered them up for public sale. So that's why I'm doing it. Note: The axle-connectors are adequate, but imperfect. I used the exact same dimensions for all of my masks, but some of them ended up fitting quite snugly, while others are pretty loose/wobbly. It probably has something to do with the polishing processes and the difference between different colored plastics. But with a little modeling putty or hot-glue they stay in place fine. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Alternate Futures (Olisi) Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/2999647/kanohi-olisi-mask-of-alternate-futures-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=94 Wiki: http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Olisi This one was pretty straightforward, actually. I made it larger because Karzahni's a bigger dude. The smaller "teeth" on the right side of his face were supposed to be more pronounced, but evidently the polishing process wore them down to teeny-tiny. (You can tell how sooper-awesome I am at making curvy 3D things by looking at his eyebrow *sarcasm*.) I'm trying to paint it at the moment, with blue and silver. I'll let you know how it turns out. Update I am a much worse painter than 3D-modeler But here's an idea of what's possible. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-2-15 Mask of Elemental Energy Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/2997158/kanohi-pungao-mask-of-elemental-energy-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62 Wiki: http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Mask_of_Elemental_Energy I used the actual model from the PC game for reference on this one. I'm happy to announce that version-2 fits a Toa head very well! It's a tiiiny snug so I'll do a very minor tweak and feel safe taking it off Beta. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Healing Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/3001876/kanohi-blocko-1-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62 This is a recreation, to the best of my ability, of one of the bootleg Blocko Kanohi that I've never managed to get my hands on. I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out. It's not perfect, but considering that the real thing is next to impossible to find... Update 2-25-15 Eeeeveryone wanted it bigger and swoopier. Result? A mask that is WAY too big and swoopy. Seriously, it is huge. And the connector was placed too high. I accept 10% of the blame. I'll try to scale it down. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/PB6NQ6FNL?li=shop-results&optionId=55196985 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-2-15 Mask of Emulation Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/LMTXDZYMG?li=shop-results&optionId=43310525 This is the other Blocko mask. This is the updated version. Works equally well with the Metru head. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Mechanics Update 2-25-15 Everybody thought that v1 was too flat, so I give you v2. You're welcome. I'm happy with my rendition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mask of Elasticity Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/model/3001749/kanohi-rapa-mask-of-elasticity-bionicle.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62 Wiki: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/File:Comic_Toa_Mahri_Leading_Matoran_to_Safety.png I wasn't happy with the side-cover on this, and the bottom was too narrow to fit on a Toa head. I've widened it and extended the sides back for more cover, but until I have the new version in my hands this is also beta. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-2-15 Mask of Life This took soooo long. It's kind of rough around the edges but if I spend any more time on this, I'll go insane. (For those who don't know, this was our first glimpse at the MoL from the VNOLG. Then the Toa Ignika set was revealed and everyone was all, "Whaaaat?" And they had to invent some story about how the mask can change shape because reasons.) I'm happy with how it turned out, although I may spend some time thickening the protrusions for durability's sake. When I first saw it in person I thought, "aww, it's too big." But actually, it's only slightly larger than Toa Nuju's Kanohi Matatu. So I don't feel so bad. I might try and make it slightly smaller. The eyes are a bit far apart (ironic, since a couple of people thought that they'd be too close together - save your judgments, people,) so I might tweak that, but it wouldn't be simple. This is based on a tumblr drawing by just-a-drawing cat. (Link http://bionicle-art-squad.tumblr.com/post/100331847523/challenge-week-4-kanohi-angaru-fan-created-mask) This took a very long time because I made at least three bone-head decisions that made me waste a bunch of time and go back to the drawing board. The eyes could be brought in a bit, I'll see what I can do. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/ATV76NDNZ?li=shop-results&optionId=55135452 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-25-15 Mask of Growth Even though I own the real version of this Blocko mask, some people wanted their own after they saw mine in my Toa Hagah topic. I'm very happy with how it looks - I know the forehead looks a little weird but trust me, most of the weirdness is from the oddities of the renderer and once it's printed and polished it should all be one nice smooth surface. My only concern is the size. I've done my best to make it able to fit an old fashioned Toa head but since the Blocko mask is too small to fit one, I had to increase the size on this model. So we'll see how it turns out. Shop: https://www.shapeways.com/product/V3UNJVVS2?li=shop-results&optionId=55150502 Update: OR, holy cow, you could just buy one directly: http://www.toysrus.com/buy/lite-brix/cra-z-art-lite-brix-building-system-blaster-bot-35800-52102146 Update2: Shapeways made a mistake! They forgot to send me this one for some reason! So, still waiting! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2-25-15 Mask of Clairvoyance Even though I own the real version of this Blocko mask, some people wanted their own after they saw mine in my Toa Hagah topic. What you might not realize about the Blocko masks is that they are designed to be used with the Blocko head, which is much skinnier than the Bionicle heads, so I had to widen this out a bit while trying to keep as much of the "feel" as I could. Update: The mask is actually too big. I'll see about narrowing it and shrinking it a bit. I was concerned about the old Mata head being compatible but I think I'll focus on the Metru head here. (I hope you notice that almost all of the fanon-canon weirdo masks of strangeness do not exist for me. I hope you are the same.)
  22. So this time around I decided to make some modifications to the set before painting it up, and to change the color scheme up a bit from the original. More angles can be found here. You can also check out some of the other stuff I've painted here and here.
  23. Welp, this time around I have some old things and some new things to show off, the new 2015 masks, and some very rusty, very ancient masks. First off, the new masks! Next up, we have the old masks. (old looking anyway) And here's the usual list of links to other places you can see my stuff. Store Deviantart Tumblr Flickr
  24. A long while back I posted a topic displaying two kanohi Ignika that I had 3D printed. I ended up keeping one for myself and selling the other to a friend, but since then I've gotten a lot of messages asking if I could make the model available on Shapeways so that anyone could have one. I didn't do this earlier because The model actually had a slight issue in that the plus rod needing sanding to fit properly and I didn't want to sell lots of copies of the model in that condition. Recently, I made a model of a redesigned Miru and using more accurate measurements was able to get the plus rod just right. The original model of the Ignika also had a slight defect in the fact that one of the cylinders on the side of its head was not copied over properly. Both of these issues have now been fixed, so I've decided to make it available to you guys. For more details on each of the masks available for sale, here are their individual topics (note that the Ignika one is very old, and as a result, dead): Ignika: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/4354-kanohi-ignika-voya-nui-online-game-style-real-mask/ Miru: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/17954-3d-printed-miru-redesign/ Here is my Shapeways shop from where they can be purchased: https://www.shapeways.com/designer/00dude00 I thought I'd also point out you can view either mask from any angle on their respective Shapeways pages. If I've left anything out, or you have any questions I'd love to hear them! Also, If you do buy one of these, shoot me a PM once it arrives! I'd love to hear any feedback or even see pictures if you can. Toa Tupac has kindly provided us with some (very nice) pictures of the Ignika in the translucent detail plastic: http://imgur.com/a/AXstz
  25. Managed to track down a place that sells quick-setting polyurethane resin at a low price. I made the mold out of DIY silicone putty (Silicone caulk + corn starch) and then cast the mask using the resin. It's not perfect though. Had to do a fair amount of sanding. And for some reason the resin stuck a bit too well to the mold, possibly due to the corn starch. I plan on painting it and applying some varnish eventually. I might paint it black and re-create Mata Nui Akhmou. http://40.media.tumblr.com/c5e24934d5f0f5ff37b27ae271ebe993/tumblr_nl4srlyhzH1sapiqzo1_1280.png http://41.media.tumblr.com/43e97e09f07992fc427e7bc5b08766c4/tumblr_nl4srlyhzH1sapiqzo2_1280.png Bonus MOC http://41.media.tumblr.com/faf3705d9189aeaa88ad684ccad758f2/tumblr_nl4srlyhzH1sapiqzo3_1280.png
