BZPRPG - Ko-Wahi

IC: Veteran.

"We need to start mobilisin' these refugees to get them across to Ta-Wahi," Veteran explained, gesturing towards the cable car. "If you could find out who the karz is actually in charge of them - if anyone even is - and tell them to get their people movin' it would save us all a lot of time."

IC Veneras

Veneras looked around "There are plenty of Matoran here. We need to get them prepared to journey onward" he understood the way this toa of electricity felt. He too had lost everything, his home. "We will escort them to Ta Koro, there they can wait until their home is retaken." Veneras gritted his teeth at his own word; not only were Ko-Koronans not a fan of lava, but the thought of his people submitting ot the authority of Jala. Jala -the one who abandoned them- made him sick.

IC (Dastan): "Ta-Koro? Not the best place for a Ko-matoran. Though it looks like we have much of a choice." Dastan thought aloud. This tall Ice Toa was probably the one who understood this in the first place... Something related was felt in him.

"Alright then. I'll make them to move. Yet again sorry for such an awkward emergence and behaviour." Dastan nodded to the two and departed in the direction of the matoran.

Soon enough they where gathering together, preparing for transportation.

OOC: Sorry for the issues. I sended my message about a second after yours)

The grizzled skakdi noted the tone in Veneras' words. "Ta-Koro is one of the safest villages on the island... Or as safe as can be expected durin' these times. The refugees will be protected there, at least."

IC Veneras

Veneras looked to the ground in reluctance acceptance "I understand" he voiced. Then feeling as if he could contain the thought no longer, after a long silence he spoke again "Is Onu Koro not safe?" he asked "their city would protect my people from the sun's heat"

IC: (Rekhyt)

The Fa-Toa looked up to Veneras from where he had been working ...

"None of the koros are safe...and there have been...rumours of an attack on Onu happening in the foreseeable future; I came to the Island in response to the Makuta's summons, so I have a few inside sources in makuta's armies." he explained.

"I got no idea, mate." Veteran admitted, taking Rekhyt's comments into consideration before continuing, "They're here now, so all we can do is send them towards the nearest safe village. If they want to go to Onu-Koro via the tunnals after that, they can. It aint up to us to make their decisions for them."

IC Veneras

The Toa looked to the gravity toa. It had only been a year since he left and there was peace on the island.

Have I really been gone for so long? The philosopher blamed himself.

When he had gone to meditate there was peace. Now the entire island was crumbling beneath his feet

"Then I suppose Ta Koro is our best chance." he said reluctantly

IC: Verulas shrugged before returning to his feet. Small talk wasn't exactly his area of expertise; knifing people in the back was.

"Yeah, well, whatever," he said casually. "Take it however you want; I just call things like I see them. I'm going to go take a walk."

He side-stepped around Brontes, deciding that he was going to go explore around the outpost a bit more as he left the other two Toa to their own devices.

IC: Veteran.

"Well, it's their best chance." he lowered his voice a little, so only Veneras could hear what he said next. "You're an Outsider now. This karz-forsaken mountaintop is the closest thing we got to a home. We aint just gonna abandon it. It aint gonna fall like Ko-Koro did." He regretted that last line almost as soon as he said it.

IC Veneras

The toa looked longingly at the endless snow behind him. His heart began to beat audibly as he thought that his people might never return.
Ko Koro, once the gem of Ihu. Finally the implications set in, the sanctum would be desecrated by the worship of Makuta. Anger began to boil, but his zeal would have to wait; now was not the time for vengence.
"Should we begin the escort?" Veneras asked.

Veteran was right; THIS was his home now. He would see his people to safety and then he would return to Ihu. He would stand strong. His zeal would not falter "You're right, this is my home now. The sooner my people are safe, the sooner.." his thought dropped off there, as if he didn't know what to say.

OOC In canon the cable car can hold one. How many matoran can this cablecar hold?

Already escorting the matoran to the cablecar, Veneras turned around to see how many still needed healing "Line up" he called back, and he began loading the first group

IC (Dastan): "The sooner our people are safe," Dastan pasted, "the sooner you'll be able to rest." He tried to make it clear enough, that there all on the same side right now. It is easier to share your pain than to try to hide it.

"That's right," the Toa said to Veteran. "Let's hurry. There's a lot of heavily injured. We can't afford ourselfs to lose anymore time."

IC Forger

Champion uses some... Interesting analogies, answering my question in a way I had not expected. He cuts to the heart of the matter. Telling me that any regrets I have about becoming a mercenary are likely unfounded, and calling me out on my failures on this mission.

That's all I wanted to say." He stands up, now looking down at me. "Is there anything you want to say?"

"Yes; thank you. It is not often enough that I am told my doubts are unfounded or that I have failed at something." I pause, "well, perhaps Zero is quick to explain these things."

OOC: Ugh, good question... There were five of us in there on the way over, but since that got retconned... We'll say there's room for a max of six to eight matoran. Other species will only be able to go in threes and fours.

IC: Veteran.

"Healthy ones first, then the injured." Veteran repeated. "Don't let too many people on at once, either. If the cable car breaks we're all screwed." it wasn't exactly the most reassuring speech, but sometimes the hard truth was a better motivator than any lie...

IC: The Champion (Obsidian Outpost)

"Perhaps she is," I say to Forger. "If that is all, I'll go to help with transporting the patients over the Break." I leave the room, and walk outside. The Ko-Toa and Veteran were already working on it. Not sure how I can help them. Besides, I'm still wearing the heavy set of protosteel armour. I decide to go to the armoury and leave my armour there, then I'll go to help with the patients. Or I might just travel to Ta-koro and go order a drink at the tavern. Maybe.

IC (Echelon)

Echelon waved a hand in dismissal of the Toa and Vortixx's fight.

"Enough," he stated. "I have more important work to do than watch you fools grapple. Be still, and be silent."

The Dark Toa turned to the huddle of bound Matoran laid around the steps of the throne. He stood before his captives, looking down on them with the coldness of a scientist examining his dissection specimens. The scholars were little more than a dozen in number, and they stared up at him in the silence of terror. Londar lay among them.

"You."

Echelon singled out one of the Ko-Matoran. He wore a light-grey Miru, and his white robes were somewhat more ornate than those of his fellows.

"What is your name?"

"..."

Echelon sighed at the typical Ko-Matoran's response, then spoke again. His voice was overlaid with the power of the Komau.

"Tell me your name."

"...Kylma," the Ko-Matoran answered.

"And your role here?"

"...Head...Adept..."

The Matoran's hesitant speech was not just Ko-Matoran quietness; fear dampened his words.

"Adept..." Echelon repeated slowly. "Decipherer of prophecies...reader of the Word of the Great Spirit Mata Nui..."

He cast his arms wide, indicating the Wall of Prophecy all around them in mockery of a Matoran priest.

"Such an important position, is it not?" the Dark Toa continued in the low purr of a stalking Muaka. "And I would not dream of depriving the world of such vital work. Fear not, Matoran, your lives are in safe hands."

"Then..." Kylma spoke out, "...what do you want with us?"

"Let us say...to liven up your job," Echelon replied. "The prophecies of Mata Nui are dull and cryptic; the Sleeping God has nothing to say to you, especially not with your beloved Turaga and Akiri gone."

His grim companions, the wraith-like Vortixx and poisonous Lesterin, now joined the iron-visaged Toa. They both held a jar in their hands.

"We are here to provide you with a new prophecy, one whose message will, I think, be very clear."

Kohra and Agrona advanced, seizing a Matoran each and dragging them away from the others. As they went, Agrona drew her bone-knife, and Kohra prepared one black talon of her Claw. Londar and his fellow captives could not see what happened next, but they understood well enough once two cut-short screams met their ears.

They were followed by the sound of liquid dripping.

A few moments later, the two dark beings returned, still carrying their jars. A rivulet of red ran down the lip of one.

"Let the work of prophecy begin."

IC: Krakant.

Being hung up was very boring.

Luckily, the Toa had walked away and hadn't picked up his gun. He reached his foot over to the gun. He grabbed hold of it.

Bingo.

He dragged it towards himself, turned it towards the "cuffs" and fired.

Direct hit.

He picked his gun off the ground and ran.

OOC: Krakant to... somewhere.

IC Hile

(Ko-Koro):

Hile reached Korero and Oreius. He was followed by another Toa, but his focus was on the Maru.

"You're going to save us", he said almost matter-of-factly. "As the chronicler of Ko-Koro, I wish to join you and make sure this day will be remembered."

IC: The Deceiver (Sanctum)

Just as her blade was about to hit Xitec's chest, it stopped. Echelon had given an order for her to end the fight, and she obeyed by immediately sheating her sword and standing still, following what he was doing. Meanwhile, crystal enveloped Xitec inside, gradually making him unable to move. Deceiver observed Echelon and his servants do their bloody work. A new prophecy, it seemed. She stood silent and still, her eyes watching closely as they began their work on it.

IC:

As he always did, the silent figure watched.

Krayzikk did not for one moment believe Veteran's explanation. His previous Vortixx opponent had mentioned the cable car in his first offer, but more specifically, he had mentioned free passage. Forger had already been present at the establishment when they arrived, indicating that he had sought it specifically. Coincidences, to be sure; each one of them could have an innocent explanation. But the gray figure had never once seen "security" so well armed, nor security officers that carried themselves quite the same way. He knew people like this. He'd been like them, once. Called himself, for a time, the Avenger and fought for his own purposes.

That had changed. Now, he stood a silent sentinel within the makeshift refugee camp, monitoring the activity around him. Others had slept; he did not. The warrior had not sustained injuries in his previous fights, thus, neither his will nor his body was impaired. He did, however, miss the staff he'd used; he had given it back to Kellin, as was proper, when the Matoran prompted. He had hung onto the cloak, however. It might yet prove useful.

As activity within the camp started to increase, the Titan shifted, interrupting his silent vigilance. From the sounds of things, plans were being made for the movement of the refugees across the Break. Plans he would need to be aware of, if not involved in the creation of. Nevertheless, he did not trust his environment and the Titan's gaze was an alert one as he moved closer to the planning.

IC: Verulas leaned himself up against a tree as he watched the rest of the defenders prepare for the trip to Ta-Koro.

He had scouted the area around the outpost for a little while before grabbing an hour's worth of sleep somewhere separate from the group and heading back. By the time he had returned, everyone was up and about working.

They had almost reached the end of their journey. Once they hit Ta-Koro, the job would be complete.

And that's when he'd make himself scarce.

The Bo-Toa didn't see any real reason to stick around afterwards; he'd already been paid, and his services had been delivered. He figured he'd find somewhere peaceful to bury the Su-Matoran's belongings and, if the meeting concerning his recruitment into the mercenaries' organization hadn't yet taken place, hit the road once more to look for his next job.

Po-Koro looked a bit... barren for his tastes, and Onu-Koro sounded like a cave-in waiting to happen. Maybe he'd find something to occupy himself with in Le or Ga-Koro...

Lupus and Lycaon seemed to be getting sick of the cold, and getting curious of the whole Cable Car thing. They couldn't go however; that'd take too much room. Tracer went on the next ride by herself and with whomever else was with her. Maybe that Girah guy?

IC (Korero)

Korero thought for a moment.

"It's got the makings of a plan..." he said, "...but I don't think it's a good idea to go in there alone. I say we work on evacuation for now, then infiltrate the Sanctum together. That way you've got a way out - " he tapped the Hiko - "if things go wrong."

IC (Oreius, Inu)

Focus. Breathe.

Oreius closed his eyes and inhaled. The freezing air of Ko-Wahi filled his lungs, bringing his senses into cold clarity as Inu drank deep of Tahu's fire. "Good," he replied. "I'll gather those I can and bring them here. Bring them to Ta-Koro - Jaller'll have gotten the reports by now."

"You're going to save us," a voice interrupted matter-of-factly. "As the chronicler of Ko-Koro, I wish to join you and make sure this day will be remembered."

Oreius looked down at the Matoran, and a pang of regret flashed through his chest, though he took care not to let it show on his face. Two Maru wouldn't be enough to save Ko-Koro.

"I would welcome your company," the Toa of Fire replied. "But it's too dangerous. Toa Korero will take you to safety."

IC:

Nika nodded curtly, as did Rana, her concern melting slightly. Though the name which the Iron Toa had pronounced wasn't known to her, the fact that this contact was in league with the Ta-Koro Guard assuaged some of her fears. It wasn't enough to prove that there wasn't some kind of shady business going on, obviously. But it was a start.

"In that case, let's get moving," the sergeant said, starting along Pae's trail towards the remains of the gate.

Nika, on the other hand, hung back slightly, leaning close to Jin.

"Kino Ihu? Familiar to you?"

-Void

IC (Jin)

"Nope."

We started moving, keeping low to try and stay out of sight of any forces on the ground. Our job was to get Korzaa out, but I didn't fancy getting killed in the process.

"Guess we'll find out."

IC: Xitec

Stuck in crystal, narrowly avoiding death, and completely confused, Xitec just stood there. Well, he had to, he couldn't move. Echelon was speaking, something about a prophecy? Apparently his goons weren't going to kill the matoran, lucky sods. Whatever the prophecy was, he had almost a front row seat to it, so he sucked in as much air as he could before the crystal completely enveloped his chest, and decided to watch what was going to happen.

IC: The Bo-Toa had decided that he would take one of the last car rides across the break, hoping that he'd either end up riding with a particularly chatty merc on his way to Ta-Wahi or at the very least catch a ride by himself. It seemed like he'd be waiting a while though, as there was still plenty of patients, doctors, and supplies that needed to be transported first.

Verulas sighed as he went to go help the others, figuring that there was no better way to keep himself busy while he waited.

OOC: Any Outsider interaction would be more than welcome.
