BBCC67: Honedge, The Sword Pokémon

"Apparently this Pokémon is born when a departed spirit inhabits a sword. It attaches itself to people and drinks their life force." -- Pokédex entry

Gallery (when public)

It's not too impressive, but I at least wanted to show off how I made the blade shape.

Also don't bother waiting for the gallery to be public; three pictures are a variation of the first one and the fourth is a back view for the sake of showing the back, which is significantly worse.

Also, I didn't even bother with the sheath. I was already sick of working on this when I reached the arm.

I will admit that while this is an awesome Moc.. If it wasn't for that little blue ribbon thing I wouldn't know this was honedge.

Though It appears to be a simple enough moc yet it is rather sturdy and I quite like it, as a sword that is.

Eh, I guess it looks cool enough, I really like how you made the sword; nice edges. The ghost arm (I have no idea what else to call it) is a little bit basic, but it looks good and gets the job down. The stand is also nice.

So yeah, not bad--not great, but not bad.

Pretty good job! Honedge and his family are some of my favorite pokemon.

The blade shape is great. I like how the tips of the Matau metru blades fit in perfectly with the fins at the tip of the sword; it reads as one smooth edge. I also love the trans-blue Hero Factory visors as the “hand” part of the cloth (although it doesn’t show up too well at this photo angle). You even put in the little light blue swirl on the cloth, nice touch.

While the edges of the blade are cool, it does feel a bit cluttered in the center, around the eye; the exposed studs especially draw away from the sleek sword feel. Try covering it with tiles next time? You also might’ve been able to put the little black pupil in the eye using one the holes, but that’s a relatively minor detail.
