Win an Exclusive Transparent Tahu Mask from NYCC!

Missed collecting masks in 2001 and 2002? If you retweet this tweet from LEGO, you will have a chance to win an exclusive transparent Tahu mask from NYCC! Of course, the more people retweet the less likely it is you could win (and I'm actually harming myself by letting you know of course :P) but this is just too good a chance for any BIONICLE fan who couldn't be there to pass. I just hope they will make more than only one available through this.

That's actually a really nice mask! I like how small they are this time around, actually looks decently proportional to their bodies. I'd love to win one so I retweeted that in a heartbeat. xD I dunno how good it would look on Tahu though, haha, being able to see the face behind it and all.

It would be super unlikely that me or anyone would be getting this plus the news head are really ugly.

Thing is, even if you get if, you won't be able to use it, at least not on a MOC, due to the new mask system.

Ya and again I hate the new mask system aka the knights kingdom helmet system. Plus it only have one use  and the only way you can use them for armor is if you have rubberbands

...Really? I think they look better than every head we got in Bionicle's first run, except maybe the original Mata heads. They don't have any weird angley blocky shapes like the other heads and generally just seem nice and smooth. I like them.

I might just do the same.  Maybe.

Also, dat head.  Kinda gives me the creeps.

It is not for us to decide the fate of angels.

Dominus Temporis, if you're out there, hit me up through one of my contacts.  I've been hoping to get back in touch for a long time now.  (Don't worry, I'm not gonna beg you to bring back MLWTB or something.  :P )

Oh great. Here I am saying that I will get every BIONICLE thing after it comes out, and now I'm at a bad start since it will be near impossible for me to get this mask...

Does anybody know what the new Toa's heads look like?

Yes.

They look fantastic. I'm stoked about the brain stock and the general appeal the heads have. Out of all the bionicle news we've had today, this is by far my favorite reveal.

The inika heads were nice and smooth too, but were generally hated. XP

Argh, curse my curiosity. I bid $51 on one of them that had an autobidder to test the limits of the autobidder... and I found the limit all right.

how can I justify spending $51 on a clear piece of plastic? I've never wished to be outbid more.

It's even worse when you actually look at your bank account afterwards and really see that nice new hole in your money ;_; I just couldn't help myself!

Thank God for people that get these and sell them on eBay for those of us who can't attend NYCC.  I totally just bought one ^_^ .

I never knew someone would be so happy about scalpers.  ^_^

For a giveaway like this, I don't think "scalpers" is an accurate term. Many of the sellers are simply people who walked by the booth, got a free mask, and then resell it after the con to try and recoup some of the cost. It's not like someone who buys loads of tickets to an event just to resell them at a higher price—these are people who had the same chance at a single exclusive freebie as anyone else, and are trying to eke some value out of it by selling it to someone who couldn't get it the normal way.

It's NOT actually like the Knights' Kingdom masks. It attaches very securely to things like Glatorian fists, Y-joints, Hero Factory feet, and probably Rahkshi back beams that have a two-module-wide space with an axle hole on each side. It can also attach just as securely to the circular holes on either side of a ball cup. It has some wiggle room in some of these examples, but it's definitely a LOT better than the Knights' Kingdom helmets that were only designed to attach to one piece. If you can't find any way to use these other than attaching them with a rubber band, you're probably not trying hard enough.

I even used this technique for the forearms of this MOC, which use Skull Spider bodies as armor. Not the most elegant example (it was really just an excuse to bring home some silver Skull Spider bodies to play around with), but it demonstrates the concept pretty effectively.

I want one so much. Hopefully the price will go down to a manageable level in time for my birthday, if I don't win the one today.
