Fun Pack: Brick Daddy

Recommended Posts

I'd buy that.

At some point you realize that you are but a speck in the Universe.

That you time in this worlds is but a blink.

You see the whole of reality as it unfolds before you.

You try to see how far you can reach, and it’s not that far past your face.

But then you come back from the brink.

You hold them in your arms again.

And you know that you are where their world begins.

You are their rock.

Yep, this definitely needs to happen. Anyone here want to see a Dr. Inferno pack? Or an Exo-Force pack? Or a Vladek pack?

Oh, and, I love the miniature Lunar Limo.

Nice! I just have two questions:

  1. What's the part count? I mean, not including the multiple parts used to simulate the single-piece bases. It'd be nice to know if it's in the ballpark of the other Fun Packs we've seen so far.
  2. Is that windscreen made up of one 1x2 cheese slopes or two 1x1 cheese slopes? The latter exists in Trans. Yellow, but I'm not even sure if the former can be produced in transparent colors (notably, its part name on LDD and the Lego customer service site specifies "ABS", and unlike the 1x1 cheese slope, a polycarbonate variation doesn't seem to exist).

All things considered, this is a great model. It might even inspire me to share some of my own here, though I'm incapable of making LDD screenshots or renders that are this good...

  1. Accounting for the fact that I had to use many pieces to fill in for the single stand piece, it has 45 pieces. This hits around the lower range of the fun packs seen. Of course, Brick Daddy should have an accessory, like other Fun Pack characters, but that wouldn't bump it up much.
  2. It's made out of one 1x2 cheese slope. I wasn't aware they'd never made it in transparent colors (I was just using it because using one 1x2 looks more faithful to the original than 2 1x1.)

Oh, right! I did just notice one other thing—you should probably give Brick Daddy some sort of simple weapon. All the other Dimensions figures have some sort of weapon or accessory, presumably for special attacks or the like. I know he didn't have any sort of handheld weaponry in his initial appearance, but I would imagine you could either pick something from one of the other alien characters, or improvise something. Maybe just some sort of jeweled cane? I dunno.

Very nice mini model! After comparing it to the original Lunar Limo, I think it would look even better with the following changes:

  1. Put a trans-yellow 3x2 plate with Hole (3176) in place of the current trans-yellow elements, and extend the black roof to cover the whole plate.
  2. Change the gold 1x1 slope to a gold 1x1 tile.

On the one hand, I can understand your feelings on the windshield, as it doesn't quite match the original set's overhung roof. On the other hand, the slanting windshield, to me, helps preserve one of the original's best features: swooshability.

Similar thing with the engine block, except less about swooshability and more about prioritizing general shape over size. It may be larger than the engine in the original set, but I feel like a 1x1 tile just wouldn't have that engine feel to it.
