LEGO Celebrates Ford GT's Return to 24 Hours of Le Mans

Recommended Posts

The 24 Hours of Le Mans automobile endurance race is going on right now, and it's a really significant one for the Ford Motor Company, as both the Ford GT's return to the event after a 47-year absence and the 50-year anniversary of the Ford GT's first victory in this prestigious motorsports event. LEGO has teamed up with Ford to commemorate this occasion with a

featuring a "dream race" between the 1966 winning car and this year's new Ford GT. Additionally, the LEGO model shop created 1:3-scale LEGO sculptures of both cars for display at the race venue, which can be seen in both a
and an image gallery on the Ford website. Follow the links above for more details or read on to watch the videos!

I really want these two to be official sets; I'd totally chuck money at LEGO for those. They look so awesome! And this is coming from someone who has never displayed great interest in the Ford Motor Company/manufacturer. I suppose the Lego side of things is great enough to warrant an instant-buy.

Hopefully the 1:3 models will tour around to the rest of the races in this year's FIA WEC and maybe over to WTSCC races in the US. And congrats to Ford Performance and Chip Ganassi Racing Teams for making a historic win happen today.

Yeah, what a comeback that was made; Such a large absence, with some great progress made while returning. They sure knew how to get back in the saddle.
