Katanga
I've always wanted to purcahse one of the Friends or Elves sets, but the lack of traditional minifigures is sort of off putting to me. I'm mainly worried about whether or not their hair pieces are compatible with regular minifigures. I have heard in the past that they are, but I wanted to double check just to be on the safe side. The pieces I'm mainly interested in getting are the following. http://brickset.com/parts/6035188 http://brickset.com/parts/6112648 Thank you in advance for assisting me! Quote My Bionicle Tumblr. The hair pieces for mini-dolls are all compatible with traditional figs (and vice-versa). The only real drawbacks are that like with traditional hairpieces, any hair that exceeds shoulder length can limit the amount the head can be rotated, and in the case of Elves hairpieces, the ears use flesh tones rather than the classic yellow. 2 Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother

Okay, that's good to hear. Thank you!I actually have one more question. I noticed a few of the mini-dolls have cloth skirts, am I safe in assuming those can be worn on minifigures as capes? Here's what I'm talking about. http://brickset.com/parts/6164099 Quote My Bionicle Tumblr. New photos are uploaded daily!

Here's what I'm talking about. http://brickset.com/parts/6164099 I actually don't know, and don't have any of the skirts in question to test. I know that the capes used on the Elves figs can't be used on minifigures, because they're sized to the smaller mini-doll necks. But the skirts are sized to mini-doll waists, which means that they're narrower than a typical minifigure neck stud from one side but wider from another. I don't know whether that'd mean that these skirts could flex to fit a minifigure neck stud or not. You'd have to ask someone who has one of the parts in question. 1 Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother

Ah, so mini-doll necks are actually smaller than regular ones? Would have never guessed that all. That's unfortunate since some of those capes looked pretty nice. As for the skirts, I noticed the different holes right after I posted my response. Even if I got it to fit, I doubt it'd turn out good if the cloth folded or stretched awkwardly when worn.Looks like I'll just try to get hair pieces then. I appreciate you helping me out! Mini-doll necks are actually the size of a 3.2mm bar (the type of connection used for most hand-held minifigure accessories). So you could conceivably use the capes decoratively in MOCs as drapes or curtains, or even as capes on a brick-built figure like IG-88, but they won't fit traditional minifigure necks. The connection for the hips is about the same depth but is also wider. So again, if you wanted to use skirts for something other than a cape you could do so (textile elements are pretty versatile in general), but not as a cape or skirt for a typical fig. Toa Doublebee
I'll add that seeing as the Friends and Elves are designed as "girl toys", the hair pieces are much nicer in design than your typical minifig hair pieces.I am thankful for my sister buying some Friends set. She since outgrew Lego. I will not
Katanga
Definitely agree with that. If it wasn't for the lack of traditional minifigures, I would have bought some sets a long time ago.
