Hi, guys!:) Did you know that in July 2001 that Bionicle was first launched (in the US)? Well, today is July 1st, so this month is Bionicle's 16th anniversary! Man, it's a teenager! I know that people usually don't celebrate numbers with ones digits being not 5's or 0's, but since I noticed some things, Sonic the Hedgehog's 26th anniversary was celebrated by many people this year, we could do that for Bionicle's 16th anniversary this year.

Let's talk about its life. When Lego was having a problem that could lead to bankruptcy, it needed a Lego theme with an original story, so it created the theme that we know and love, Bionicle (Well, before Bionicle, the first two constraction themes, Slizers/Throwbots and RoboRiders in 1999-2000, were Lego's attempts, but failed, sadly). It came from another theme called Technic, as it is a subtheme of Technic, like Slizers/Throwbots and Roboriders, shares some same pieces as the themes, but with new ones, like torsos, limbs, weapons, heads, eye-brain things, and masks. The Bionicle sets also include play functions and gear systems. Bionicle saved Lego from bankruptcy, and was launched in 2001.

Throughout the toy line's first run, there is the G1 story, which is extremely long, and is about bio-mechanical heroes fighting against forces of evil and going in quests to find magical things, protect and save people, and restore a destroyed planet. The toy line went like this:

2001 - The Toa Mata come to the island of Mata Nui to save it and its people from a villain called the Makuta and his minions, the Infected Rahi, which are animals being possessed by Makuta's Infected Masks. Makuta also put the Great Spirit Mata Nui, who people worship, to endless sleep. In order to fight Makuta and the Rahi, they have to collect Kanohi Masks, which are scattered on the island first, so they can have the power to defeat the evil forces. The storyline line ended with the Toa Mata defeating Makuta.

2002 - The Toa Mata fight a new threat that Makuta awakened, which are chicken-like destroyers called the Bohrok. The Bohrok also started a war against the Toa and the island's people. In order to defeat the Bohrok, the Toa have to collect the Bohrok's brains called the Krana first. The storyline ended when the Toa defeated the Bohrok's queens called the Bahrag by using their elemental powers to imprison them, ending the war. They later became the Toa Nuva, which are more powerful versions of themselves.

Early 2003 - New mutated types of Bohrok, called the Bohrok-Kal, steal the Toa Nuva's Nuva Symbols, which are magical objects that are sources of their elemental powers. The Toa go to defeat the Bohrok-Kal and get their Symbols back. The storyline ended when the Toa defeated the Bohrok-Kal by overloading their powers, and the Toa got their Symbols and powers back.

Late 2003 - Two Matoran, Jaller and Takua, found a new Kanohi Mask called the Mask of Light. It is said that the Mask will show a Matoran that found it, called the Herald, to the Toa of Light, who could defeat Makuta, and the Matoran duo go on a journey to find this new Toa. Makuta became aware of this, so he unleashed new enemies called the Rahkshi, which are also called "the sons of Makuta", piloted by slug-like creatures called the Kraata, and have powers that go against the island's people's important principles, to hunt down and kill the Herald and get the Mask. The Toa go to stop the Rahkshi to protect the Herald. The storyline ended when the duo arrived on a spot in the island, called Kini-Nui, Takua reveals to be the Herald and wears the Mask, which turns him into the Toa of Light called Takanuva. He then goes to fight against the Makuta. After defeating him, Takanuva combined with him to become Takutanuva and opened a gate to another island called Metru Nui, so the island of Mata Nui's people can go there.

2004 - A prequel where the island of Mata Nui's elders, the Turaga, tell the people a story about themselves as a team of Toa called the Toa Metru long ago. They were the protectors of Metru Nui, as they fought against Makuta, who had been impersonating the island's ruler named Turage Dume, and his minions, which are a giant evil plant monster called the Morbuzakh, the Vahki, and the Dark Hunters, Nidhiki and Krekka. Along the way, the Toa went on a quest to find the Great Disks. After that, the leader of this Toa team, Vakama, combined them to make the Disk of Time, and then turned it into a powerful new mask called the Mask of Time, which was what Makuta wanted to get. The storyline ended when he put the Great Spirit Mata Nui to sleep, causing a disaster called the Great Catalysm. Vakama stopped Makuta from getting the Mask. The Toa Metru later defeated Makuta by using their powers to imprison him, like the Toa Mata did in the 2002 storyline. The Toa Metru placed Metru Nui's people, the Matoran and who were put into sleep by Makuta, on the island of Mata Nui by sacrificing their Toa power to do awaken them. This resulted in turning them into the Turaga before everyone started a new life in Mata Nui. This happened long before the 2001 storyline happened.

2005 - Takes place between the 2004 and 2001 storylines and is still a prequel, Metru Nui's people, the Matoran, were captured by giant evil spiders called the Visorak, which are led by two villains, Sidorak and Roodaka. When the Toa Metru went to save the Matoran. The bad guys also mutated them into monstrous-looking and animal-based creatures called the Toa Hordika. A group of little mutated creatures called the Rahaga, who were once the Toa Hagah, who were also mutated by Roodaka, told the Toa that they have to a good-hearted Rahi named Keetongu, who can cure and help them fight the bad guys. Unfornately, the leader of the Toa Hagah, Vakama, was convinced by Roodaka to help the villains destroy the Toa Hordika. The storyline ended when Keetongu killed Sidorak, the Toa Hordika defeated the Visorak, Vakama came back to his senses, and Roodaka made all of the Toa Hordika use their elemental powers to free Makuta for his prison. That was a sad time over there. Keetongu then cured the Toa Hordika back into the Toa Metru. The Toa rescued the Matoran. Later, Vakama and Makuta made a temporary alliance to prevent Dark Hunters, including their leader called the Shadowed One and Voporak, from getting the Mask of Time. Vakama and Makuta won the fight against them, and Vakama kept the Mask before returning to the Toa Metru.

2006 - Back to the present. The Great Spirit Mata Nui is dying because of his eternal sleep, so the Toa Nuva go to the island of Voya Nui to a powerful new Kanohi Mask called the Mask of Life, which can save Mata Nui's life and people. However, a group of new villains, called the Piraka, enslaved the island's people by using Makuta's corrupting essence called Antidermis control their minds, are mean and monstrous gangsters, and go to find the Mask to get it for themselves, defeated the Toa. Six Matoran, who allied with the Toa Nuva, turned into a new team of Toa called the Toa Inika, whose elemental powers are mixed with lightning. The Toa Inika free the people and fight against the Piraka. The storyline ended when the Toa Inika fight against the Piraka's former member, Vezon, and his giant pet spider called Fenrakk, and Vezon has the Mask. The Mask also turned Fenrakk into a powerful dragon called the Kardas Dragon. The Toa manage to defeat Vezon and his pet and one of the Toa Inika, Matoro, got the Mask because he is destined to be its bearer, but the Mask magically went to the sea around the island. The Toa Nuva return. The Toa Inika go to find the Mask underwater while the Toa Nuva go to re-awaken Mata Nui.

2007 - The Mask of Life ends up underwater below Voya Nui, and it falls on the ground next to an underwater city called Mahri Nui, where Matoran live there. One of them named Dekar finds the mask, but he sees it as too dangerous, so he wants to destroy it. However, evil mutated warlords called the Barraki, who are based on sea creatures and command armies of them, want to get and use the mask to turn themselves back to their pre-mutated normal selves, so they can get revenge on Mata Nui. Meanwhile, while the Toa Inika are looking for the mask underwater, the mask transformed them into water-breathing Toa with normal powers called the Toa Mahri. Plus, the mask turned Dekar into a jailer named Hydraxon, who was dead long ago and now plans to destroy it. Makuta also goes underwater and possessed a Maxilos robot, so he can go and tell Matoro how to use the Mask to save Mata Nui's life. After the Toa saved the mask from the Barraki and Hydraxon, Matoro tells the Toa what Makuta told him, which is to destroy the Cord, which connects the top of Mahri Nui to Voya Nui in order to put Voya Nui back to where it originally belonged. After they destroyed the cord and then while Voya Nui was heading back to where it belonged, they discover that Mata Nui is dead. Matoro, however, doesn't give up hope, so he goes to revive Mata Nui. The other Toa Mahri fight the Barraki to buy him time. The storyline ended when Matoro used the power of the Mask to bring his Toa Team back to Metru Nui and make them breathe air again to save their lives. He then sacrificed his life to use the mask's power to bring Mata Nui back to life. When the Toa Mahri and the people of Metru Nui became aware of Matoro's fate, they mourn for his death. How very sad.:(

2008 - After Toa Nuva met and were given the Adaptive Armor by a guy named Artakha, Artakha brings the Toa Nuva to a place called Karda Nui, where they can re-awaken Mata Nui. They also find that the Matoran living in Karda Nui, called the Av-Matoran, are being invaded by Makuta's brotherhood called the Brotherhood of Makuta. Makuta's real name is revealed to be Teridax, with the word, "Makuta", as his title, so he is called "Makuta Teirdax". Plus, his brotherhood is formed by his whole species called the Makuta. There are eight Makuta attacking Karda Nui, and they are also turning Av-Matoran are a new type of Matoran called Shadow Matoran, which are evil like the Makuta, because they don't want the Av-Matoran to turn into Toa of Light. The Toa and Makuta split teams while they are fighting each other. The Mask of Life has a mind of its own, and when it was thinking about its previous bearers' heroism, it decides to create itself a Toa-like body called Toa Ignika to become a hero like them. It also helps the Toa Nuva fight the Makuta. Later, Takanuva goes to find the Toa Nuva and warn them about the Energy Storms, which can kill people in Karda Nui, appearing if they re-awaken Mata Nui. While he is helping the Toa fight the Makuta, he learns that he was one of the Av-Matoran. The Toa Nuva also learned that they have been in Karda Nui before, but forgotten about it when they got out from there before the 2001 storyline happened. After Taknuva cured the Shadow Matoran back to their normal selves and the Toa Nuva had Toa Ignika sacrifice its body to re-awaken Mata Nui the Toa Nuva and Takanuva use flying vehicles that they found from a building called the Codrex to get out of Karda Nui and escape the Energy Storms, which kill the Makuta in Karda Nui. Mata Nui is revealed to be a 40-million-foot-tall robot whose face was covered with the island of Mata Nui for a long time since the Great Cataclysm, but the island is destroyed and he is re-awakened, so he is now free from the island. the heroes went back home to Metru Nui and celebrate Mata Nui's re-awakening, Teridax reveals that he took over Mata Nui's body, put the Great Spirit's spirit in the Mask of Life, then sent the Mask to outer space, and everybody's home called the Matoran Universe, which are a bunch of lands, is inside Mata Nui's gigantic body. This allows Teridax to rule the Matoran Universe and torture the people under his new tyrannical reign. How horrible.:(

2009 - A loose continuation where it takes place in a planet called Bara Magna, where its surface is a desert and decaying wasteland. People in the planet are similar to the ones in Matoran Universe. They are split into tribes. Some of the people, called the Agori, have their warriors, the Glatorian, fight each other in gladiator arenas to get scarce amounts of resources on the planet. However, groups of evil people, the Skrall and the Bone Hunters, work together to have a war with good-hearted people and go to take over the world. Meanwhile, the Mask of Life shows up on the planet and then makes a body for the Great Spirit Mata Nui's spirit to use. He wants to find a way to get back of the planet and go back to the Matoran Universe, so he could get the Matoran Unvierse back from Teridax. The storyline ended when Mata Nui became aware of good-hearted people of Bara Magna suffering problems from the planet's bad guys, he has the good guys end their system of arena matches, and helps and unites them to defeat the bad guys and end the war with them. Mata Nui then discovered some things on the planet that relates to him and former body. Mata Nui continues his journey to get out of the Bara Magna.

Early 2010 - When Mata Nui learned that Bara Magna was once an prosperous Earth-like planet called Spherus Magna, which was broken into three pieces, which are Bara Magna, Aqua Magna, which is Bara Magna's watery moon his former body was asleep, and Bota Magna, which is a moon with its surface being a jungle, during a war very long ago, the fact he is created by magical people called the Great Being's on the planet and why he is created, and how to restore the planet, Mata Nui goes to restore Spherus Magna. He puts his spirit into a gigantic robotic prototype of his former enormous robotic body to put the moons back to Bara Magna. However, Teridax, as he is possessing Mata Nui's original body, finds him and plans to take over the universe. He first asks Mata Nui if he would help Teridax take over the universe, but Mata Nui refuses, so the battle between them happens. Good and bad people from both the Matoran Universe and Bara Magna battle each other alongside Mata Nui and Makuta, too. When one of the Toa Nuva, Tahu, came out of the Matoran Universe, the Mask of Life devolved him back to his original Toa Mata self because he has to wear magical armor called the Golden Armor to help Mata Nui fight the fight. However, some of the bad guys from both worlds stole the pieces of the Armor, so Tahu, Takanuva, and a Glatorian named Gresh who is an ally of Mata Nui, go get the pieces back. During that, Teridax threatens to destroy Bara Magna with his gravity powers, but Mata Nui stops and made him bring the moons back to the planet. After they succeeded in doing so, Tahu wears the armor and uses its power to destroy all of the Rahkshi the Makuta sent on Bara Magna. This made Teridax upset, and while he is not aware of a piece of Aqua Magna coming near him, Mata Nui pushes Teridax to the fragment, so the fragment hit Mata Nui's original body's head, destroying Teridax, so Mata Nui wins. After the moons went back to the planet, Mata Nui uses the power of the Mask of Life and the remaining power of the prototype to finish restoring Spherus Magna. People from the Matoran Universe get out of there because Mata Nui's original body became inhabitable due to the destruction on the body's head and go to live in Spherus Magna with its own people. The prototype was destroyed because it used up all of its power, and Mata Nui retreats to the Mask of Life. He says that all journeys come to the end and then he sleeps in the Mask. Good people from both worlds decide to live in the planet together with peace and harmony.

The toy line ran from 2001 to 2010 because it got cancelled by Lego in 2010 when Lego is having an economic problem in 2009. Poor Bionicle.:(

After that, the Bionicle toy line was replaced by another theme called Hero Factory in 2010 to keep the constraction figure category alive. Along the way, the G1 storyline still continued as it has new stories, starting from the second half of 2010, and a writer named Greg Farshtey was writing them.

These new stories are about the people in Spherus Magna fighting against new foes who threaten their peace. Some new characters are met along the way.

However, sadly, the storyline stopped in the middle of 2011 with some cliffhangers. It had never continued since.:(

Greg started to reveal a lot of unresolved things in the G1 story from 2012 to the beginning of this year in the Lego Messageboards on the Lego website, but he stopped as the Messangeboards got closed by Lego.:(

In 2014, which was 4 and a half years after the end of the Bionicle toy line, it was announced in New York Comic Con that Bionicle comes back in the beginning of 2015, but as a reboot. It was a very great time for us Bionicle fans.:D In 2015, Bionicle replaced Hero Factory for some reason, and the new Bionicle story begins again as G2. In the reboot, it is about six bio-mechanical heroes called the Toa coming to the island of Okoto to fight the forces of evil, including the Skull Creatures and Umarak. They also have to find the magical and powerful masks called the Masks of Power, which are the Mask of Creation, Mask of Control, and Mask of Ultimate Power. Here are the new storylines in G2:

2015 - Long ago, two brothers, called the Mask Makers, Ekimu and Makuta, ruled the island of Okoto and made magical masks called the Masks of Power, which are made with one of six elements each, for the island's people. However, Makuta was jealous of Ekimu because Ekimu's masks are more praised than his, so he broken a sacred law, that is about not making a mask with two or more of the elements, by making a mask with all six elements called the Mask of Ultimate Power. When he put it on, the mask took over of him and was trying to destroy the island. Ekimu noticed this, so he went to stop it by knocking the mask off from Makuta's face. This caused a shockwave that ruined the island, put Ekimu to endless sleep, and scattered three powerful Mask of Power, the Mask of Control, which is Ekimu's mask, Mask of Control, which is Makuta's, and the Mask of Ultimate Power, over the island. However, Ekimu whispered a prophecy to the island's people's elders, called the Protectors, so they would use it to summon six heroes on Okoto because there will be evil attacking the island. Later on, in the present, Makuta turns evil and has the evil Skull Spiders and Skull Creatures attack the island. The Protecters summons the heroes, who are the Toa Mata, who newly called the Masters in G2 on Okoto. After the Toa arrived in the island, they start their journey to fight against evil by collecting the powerful Masks of Powers with elemental powers called Golden Masks of Power. The Protectors are guiding them to the Masks while they fight against the evil Skull Spiders along the way. After the Toa collected and wore the masks, they meet at the City of the Mask Makers, where they fight against the Lord of Skull Spiders and many other Skull Creatures while their new journey to find and re-awaken Ekimu in the city. After they found and re-awakened Ekimu, Ekimu reveals that the Skull Creatures' leader, the Skull Grinder, is planning to destroy the Mask of Creation and take over the world. The storyline ended when the Toa go to find and fight against Kulta to try to save the Mask from him while Ekimu defeats Kulta and saves and reclaims the Mask. Ekimu calls the Toa true heroes after that because of their heroic efforts.

2016 - The Toa got new armor, weapons, and masks, made by Ekimu, to become the Uniters. Ekimu sends the Toa on a new quest to find the Elemental Creatures and the Golden Masks of Unity, so they can Unite, or combine, with them and be able to find the Mask of Control, so Ekimu could destroy it. However, a new villain named Umarak the Hunter is sent by Makuta to hunt down the creatures and use them to find the mask, and Umarak has robotic bear-trap-like creatures called the Shadowed Traps to help him. After the Toa found the Creatures and the Golden Masks of Unity, they can Unite with and learn from the Creatures about the Mask of Control's location, which is a maze. The Toa and their Creatures then go to the maze, survive its traps, and found the Mask, but Umarak got the Mask and escaped with it from them. Makuta then wants the Hunter to become his new servant, but Umarak refuses and puts on the Mask, but Makuta uses the mask's power to turn the Hunter into his monstrous, Doomsday-from-Batman-v-Superman:-Dawn-of-Justice-from-2016-esque and Abomination-from-Marvel-esque servant called the Destroyer. Umarak turns some of his Shadow Traps into new monsters with elemental powers called the Elemental Beasts to attack the City. This is to keep the Toa and Ekimu distracted, so Umarak can find the pieces of the destroyed Mask of Ultimate Power. The Toa and Ekimu later learn about all of this, so they go after him. Umarak creates a mountain where he would do a ritual with the Mask of Ultimate Power to create a portal that can free Makuta from an alternate world called the Shadow Realm. Makuta's imprisonment in the Realm is caused by the Mask's destruction long ago when Ekimu knocked it from Makuta's face. The Toa are trying to stop Umarak, but failed as Umarak succeeds in opening the portal, but Makuta sacrifices his life to open the portal. How rude.:( However, the storyline ended when Makuta is coming from from the portal, the Toa learns that the prophecy ends with a part where they combine with their elemental powers to stop Makuta. The Toa and Makuta fight each other with their powers, but the Toa wins by using their powers to imprison Makuta in the Shadow Realm again. Because the Toa have saved the island from evil and fulfilled the prophecy, they go back to where they came from: the stars. Weird, huh? It is said by the people of Okoto that they would come back when they are needed again.

The 2016 also ended the whole G2 Storm and that is because Lego made a decision to cancel it in 2016 for some reason (maybe because there are so many priorities that Lego is too busy with, like The Lego Movies, Lego Dimensions, Star Wars, Ninjago, Nexo Knights, and Brick Heads, in 2017?) rather than continuing it with a third year. How super-horrible! We are all upset about this terrible event and find it unfair. It's like The Amazing Spider-Man movie series in 2012 and 2014 all over again.:( (I cried in tears when it happened.:( ) Right now, we are hoping that Bionicle will come back someday (I'm sure it will, like how DC Comics brings back Batman to the movies and Marvel brings back Spider-Man to the movies.:) ).

Bionicle is 16 years old. It had been a great, fun, and awesome journey for us, and we, the fans, are keeping it alive. Throughout its life, there are so many sets of various kinds, like small sets, medium sets, canisters, boxes, large and titan sets, play sets with minifigures, vehicle sets, and combiner sets, like Takutanuva, Ultimate Dume, Voporak, Irnakk, and Vezon and Kardas. In the beginning of G1, there were always gear systems and stiff limbs, but as G1 went on, the sets became more flexible with bendable limbs and abandoned the gear systems. They also got new pieces with new molds. They always have many interesting weapons, like masks and weapons. The sets also include very cool play features. The 2009 sets even have this action figure game as they have life counters on them. When Bionicle returned in 2015, the sets came with the CCBS system and combined the returned gear systems and bendable parts along with new Bionicle-and-CCBS-mixed pieces.

There are collectibles that have small valuable pieces like Kanohi masks, Krana, Kraata, Kanoka disks, Rhotuka spinners, Zamor spheres, and Sea Squids, too.

The sets in general came in various good colors, even though they don't have much purple until 2015. Plus, there weren't sets for G1 characters who don't have official physical descriptions.

There are also media that support the toy line, and they include online games, video games, a computer game called The Legend of Mata Nui (which was cancelled, sadly), board games, app games, four direct-to-video movies, clothes and accessories, chapter books, comic books, graphic novels, online animations, commercials, and a Netflix TV show called The Journey to One. The media made the toy line a big franchise.

Bionicle has inspired many people. They made MOCs and fanbase websites, like us as BZPower and the "Mask of Destiny" website. There were also a lot of contests that made fans expand the G1 story with MOCs and their own stories, whether they can be consider canon or not. We are always ambitious to get, build, and play with them. We always have emotions toward the G1 and G2 stories. We, the fans, also draw pictures of Bionicle stuff, too. I, for example, drew superheroes inspired by Toa.

Bionicle is always in our hearts.

Bionicle has also gone popular over its G1 years. It even appeared in The Lego Movie for a split second (it only featured the Toa Mata).

There are many franchises that remind us of Bionicle, like Steven Universe, Hero Factory, and Ninjago. Who knew that we have so much nostalgia, based on one of our favorite childhood things, which is Bionicle?:) Even Bionicle G2 has some G1 things and references.

There are some things that looked like that they celebrated Bionicle's other anniversaries or just for references or coincidences. Here the list of this stuff:

2006: Bionicle's 5th anniversary - how the Piraka arrived to Voya Nui with the Toa Mata's canisters is like how the 2001 storyline (Bionicle first storyline) began: the Toa Mata came to the island of Mata Nui with their canisters.

2010: Bionicle's tenth year - the Golden Armor gives me the idea that it is to celebrate Bionicle's tenth year.

2011: Bionicle's 10th anniversary - how Hero Factory's storyline, Savage Planet, is like reminds me of the 2001 storyline, too, because they both are about robotic heroes arriving from the sky to fight against an evil villain and his army of mind-controlled robotic animals in a jungle (perhaps to celebrate Bionicle's anniversary because HF replaced Bionicle to keep the constraction figure category alive?). You might that that the reason why HF's Rocka's armor is gold because it is to celebrate, too. Lol.:P I know 2011 is the year where Bionicle's G1 story stopped with cliffhangers, but let's look that the bright side by thinking about my comparison between the 2001 storyline and Savage Planet.

2015: Bionicle's fifteenth year - perhaps its return is used to celebrate Bionicle's fifteenth year.

2016: Bionicle's 15th anniversary - the Netflix show has this text "2001-2016", which shows Bionicle's life. I know this year is where Bionicle ended again, but let's look at the bright side by looking at that.

Now the history is out of the way, let's talk about how do we celebrate Bionicle's 15th anniversary since we are fans of it. How are we going to do it? What great things would you wish Bionicle to have in the future? Well, here are some ideas based on my thoughts:

1. The story G1 story being continued and then ended with a good closure.

2. An announcement of a video game, a place in Lego Dimensions (if LD continues in 2018 because I have some doubt about it), or a movie (hopefully a cinematic one).

3. A golden Bionicle statue or monument, like a giant version of a Tahu set.

4. A TT game similar to Sonic Generations or a direct-to-video movie similar to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Turtles Forever, where the G1 heroes meet the G2 ones to travel to the Bionicle eras from 2001 to 2016 to stop a villainous Great Being named Velika from somehow altering time and space with the help of G1 and G2 villains from past and present. Perhaps it would take place on both G1 and G2. Sonic Generations celebrated Sonic's 20th anniversary in 2011 and Turtles Forever celebrated TMNT's 25th anniversary in 2009 like that, so I think it could work that way.

5. Some activity that we could do as a fan community.

6. Re-use and play with the Bionicle sets and media. For example, watching all four movies and the Netflix show.

7. Make a birthday cake.

8. At least a leaked image or sneak peak to Bionicle's second return or G3 in 2018 (just my theory).

9. A video showing the history of Bionicle, similar to the Superman one in 2013 when it was celebrating Superman's 75th anniversary or to the Sonic one in last year, 2016, when it was celebrating Sonic's 25th anniversary.

Also, what is your best moment(s) and/or memory(ies) of Bionicle? For me, I like the 2001 line, the Toa Nuva, Takanuva, 2003 Makuta, the combiner sets, the 2006-2009 lines, Mask of Life, combining the 2008 Matoran sets with the 2008 Toa and Makuta canister sets, Axalara T9, Skorpio XV-1, the titan-sized Toa Mata Nui set in 2009, the movies, the awakening of the Great Spirit Mata Nui, the giant robot fight in 2010, the return of Bionicle in 2015, Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, combining the Great Elemental Creatures with the Toa Uniters and Umarak the Hunter, the Netflix TV show, 2016 Ekimu set, and Umarak the Destroyer.

I know it's a lot, but it's worth celebrating Bionicle's 16th anniversary. Aw, man! Bionicle is a teenager in high school now!:D

Anyway, what are your thoughts? Plus, let's celebrate!:D

Another retelling? It never ends...

Anyways let's try this again when it's a milestone, like 20.

What do you mean by "another retelling"? Well, I am just talking about the history of Bionicle and its stories. It's to remind us of Bionicle since it isn't here this year and we are fans of it, so it's worth talking about it in its anniversary.:)

Anyway, I am thinking about talking about re-mastering Bionicle G1 to modern times to celebrate Bionicle's anniversary or re-introduce the G1 sets as collector's edition. I think that if G1 can be remastered, like how old Sonic the Hedgehog games in the early 1990's are remastered in a new game called Sonic Mania coming this year to celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog's 26th anniversary this year, the G1 sets would get the same building system as today's constraction sets. Like you know, either they are in CCBS form, make improvements, or mix these ideas.:) (I'm planning to make a topic about that.)

I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!:)

I recently had a friend over with their family, (ranging from 10-15) and I had the opportunity to introduce BIONICLE to them for the first time, and they were bought hook, line and spinner (Rhotuka pun there) :P I decided to be a traditionalist and pulled out all the 2001 Rahi and Toa, and they had a blast playing with the set functions, then disassembling and rebuilding new MOCs. Made me smile seeing a new generation enjoying the toys that I loved so much growing up. That's how I celebrate BIONICLE every chance I get.

I think they already tried to 'remaster' G1 with G2 but yeah they should do it again but better, somehow.

Well, it's more of a reboot with some re-used Classic and defining elements than "remastering", but I see what you mean. Think how The Amazing Spider-Man movie series in 2012-2014 and this year's Spider-Man: Homecoming (it came out today) come to be.

Anyway, when I think of remastering, I look at trailers about a Sonic the Hedgehog game called Sonic Mania and Sonic Generations. They improved the graphics from the first few games in the early 1990's. They never rebooted the story, they just improve the originals' looks while re-telling the story. The same goes to Samurai Jack's Season 5 in this year, when they improved the show's animation while there is one episode where some stories from Seasons 1-4 are re-told with the new animation (Season 5 is for teenager rather than kids.).

For the remastering in Bionicle, if Lego wouldn't do G3 soon and make it well-reviewed by fans, I think G3 would take a long time to be much better than G2 or as good as or better than G1. I would think that while Lego would be doing that, it would re-tell the G1 story while improving the G1 sets into new better versions of themselves when the G3 is in development. For example, the Toa Mata's limbs are divided into two pieces literally, necks that can function like normal necks, having regular five-fingered hands, even-looking arms, and twisting waists. Lego would use new and old molds of the pieces to make this happen. There could be some new things for G1, like a TV show and/or a video game or more to better re-tell it to new fans.

Think how Sonic Boom, a Sonic the Hedgehog TV show and spin-off series, happened in 2014-now when Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces, coming this year, are in development since Sonic Lost World in 2013.

If you need a stronger example, try watching YouTube videos that compare and contract the old versions of the first few Crash Bandicoot games in the late 1990's and the new re-mastered versions of them in a new game called Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, which came out a week ago. I am not interested on the Crash Bandicoot franchise, but I think it best shows what I mean. Basically, the new game re-tells the old stories from the old games while improving the animation in them. That's also what I meant.
