Lenny7092
Hi, guys. There is this new Lego theme called Monkie Kid, which came out this year. It’s based on the Monkey King story. Basically, it’s about a kid named Monkie Kid, or MK for short, who is a fan of a legendary hero called the Monkey King, going to be his successor when he faces against the king’s ancient enemy, the Demon Bull King, and his new army that is a cult who worships the villains. MK gets the Monkey King’s magic staff that can stretch. Plus, MK has four wacky friends to help him. MK also learns how to do magical stuff, like making a mech. There is a TV show based on the theme, right? It looks like a wacky TV show that a character from Ninjago’s TV show would watch, as it has a similar animation to Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (that show is overly wacky and not faithful to the original material, and not fond of the new 2-D animation and how their mouths are drawn and animated). In the show, it’s quite wacky, and these characters over-exaggerate, more than how Ninjago, Legends of Chima, and Nexo Knights would do. So far, we don’t know when will it air on American TV, but we see the first two episodes in a Chinese version on YouTube, and they are in English, despite having Chinese subtitles. DBK is voiced by Steven Blum and the Demon Bull Princess is voiced by Greg Griffin. Yes, those famous voice actors (something that Ninjago’s TV show, Legends of Chima, Nexo Knights, Lego Star Wars, and Bionicle’s first three direct-to-video films and The Journey to One should have gotten, and the Hero Factory should have this kind of people in its Invasion From Below episode). Most of the sets are large and overly priced. What parent would let their kid buy all of the sets like that? It’s like buying ancient Bionicle sets online nowadays. Anyway, what do you think of the theme? Do you think it could last for at least two or three years, or would it flop like Nexo Knights? For me, I would go with the latter because of how it looked. Bambi
Jeez, the people at Lego sure do love their over-the-top ninja themes. I didn't even know it was a thing, but after looking it up I have to say I don't think it will last more then a few years. I mean don't people ever get tired of ninjas with mechs and giant guns on their aircraft or whatever? lol Quote [my blog] [custom emotes]
