Last year I started a solo electronic project just for kicks; make some cool music, learn and grow more musically, and just really have some fun with it.
The premise behind it was that music was always better if it represents something, especially if what it represents is personally important to me. Also, I wanted to say things in it I couldn't say with my words. I've never been very good with words, and music seemed to do a good job of expressing what I was feeling or trying to say. In addition to these ideas, I realized most all electronic artists treated their music as recycled ideas and repeating motifs. Although the motifs or, ostinatos are interesting, they can get repetitive sometimes leaving the listener growing bored of the music quickly.I wanted to write electronic music I would an orchestral piece.Of course, it is far from perfect, after releasing my first album, I already had a slew of things I would've done differently, and still find myself obsessing over some of them. Despite this, I have only gotten positive feedback, and yet to have somebody really dig into it and tell me what I could've done better. That's where you guys come in.Anyways, enough chit-chat. :P
