  1. In which a Toa confuses the heck out of a Le-Matoran barkeep and a gate is broken, or Inertia
  2. IC: Zeal, Aki-Nui - Top of the Tree Inn He woke with a jolt. That same jolt that had woken him like that for the past month. That same jolt that signalled the end of the nightmare and the start of the waking world. Zeal willed himself to his feet after a while of lying motionless in bed. He took a step. Then another. Once he had reacquainted himself with walking once again, he took himself down to the bar for breakfast. A plate of toast and a cup of tea were already there. The barkeep had taken the order enough times to make it in advance. The Silver Toa allowed himself to smile, just this once. After nourishing himself, he held out his key, room number seven, as per custom, to the Le-Matoran behind the bar. 'You sure you're ready to head out there again? I'm more than willing to keep you in for a week or more.' 'Inertia,' Zeal muttered. 'Eh?' 'Inertia, I said. Objects at rest want to stay at rest, objects in motion want to stay in motion.' The Le-Matoran raised an eyebrow. 'I don't quite understand, Mister Zeal.' The Toa sighed. 'I don't want to be at rest any more, mate. I want to be in motion. And if I don't get in motion right now, I'm going to want to stay at rest.' Zeal lay the key to Room Seven on the bar. 'Motion...' With that, he walked out of the Top of the Tree Inn for the last time in a while, leaving a confused Le-Matoran in his wake. He descended to the ground, to the stables, where Aki-Nui had been fed and sheltered for the past month. His ears pricked up at the sound of his owner's footsteps, and may or may not have forgot about the stable gate on his way to greet the Toa, shunting it aside on his way. Zeal stroked the Kane-Ra's head. 'It's been a while, eh buddy? I'm... sorry I was up there so long. I just needed time to clear my head.' Slowly, he climbed on the beast's back, reacquainting himself with the saddle and reins. 'Ready?' Aki-Nui let out a low groan in return. Zeal smirked. 'Thought so. Yah!' Zeal whipped the reins, throwing a small pouch of widgets to the stable owner as he sped past him. In motion. I was in motion once. Now I'm on fire. OOC: Zeal and Aki-Nui to Ta-Wahi.
  3. I remember it was ages ago, during the Mark Bearer Saga, Reaver and Tillian. Some of the best times I've had in this RPG. Your material is simply admirable in its composition. Marvellous, even. We're gonna miss you, buddy boy *thumbs-up*
  4. So ummm First of all, YES. Second of all, I've not seen the film yet (comes out in April in NZ ), but from what I've seen (posters, trailers, publicity shots), this is... pretty dead on to Wyldstyle's look. Awesome
  5. IC: Sister, Kai'lan - Kai'lan's Remedies "You should eat, we've got a big day ahead of us." Sister contemplated the toast in front of her, and took a hesitant bite, before pushing the plate away. "Not hungry." "You're never hungry any more. Something on your mind?" Kai'lan looked across to her cabinet. "Nothing the right mixture can't fix." "It's nothing, Kai. I'm just not hungry." She sighed the sigh that signified that it wasn't nothing, which Kai picked up on. "What's troubling you, Sis?" "Don't call me that!" Sister said, standing up and planting her hands on the table. "I'm not your 'sis'! 'Sis' implies we have any kind of meaningful working relationship!" The Apothecary sighed and stood up in a calm manner, and leant over the table, getting in Sister's face. "Sister, I have taken you into my home, under my wing, and employ, and in return, I give you a bed and a small allowance. The very least I ask from you, Sister, is a bit of respect." Kai'lan's yellow eyes darkened to black. "Got it?" Sister nodded vigorously, and within a minute, only crumbs adorned the plate. "I'm... sorry I had to bring her out. Sometimes cynical just isn't enough." Sister sat still, staring straight ahead, deep in thought. "We cool?" "Where's Zeal?" Kai'lan sighed. "Not this again... I don't know, and I don't care." "Maybe he's here in Po-Koro." "I told him not to come here. Ever" Sister paused. "Why?" Kai'lan walked around to Sister's side of the table, knelt down to her height, and placed her hands on her shoulders. "Because Zeal is a dangerous man and isn't to be trusted, not by you, or anyone." "He made a mistake, it's not outside the realm of possibility he's better now." "I'm not taking that chance. Sister, we're safe here, I have friends in the Guard who can keep him out of Po-Koro." "Wh-.... Why would you do that to him?" Kai knelt there for a few seconds more, then retreated into the backroom. She was short on Pain Elixir.
  6. The endlessly long night will finally come to end.

  7. In which a Toa laments the loss of his travelling companions, or My Triumphant Return, OR Where Are You Third time's the charm, right?
  8. IC: Zeal - Top of the Tree Inn His eyes opened a small fraction, then immediately closed again as the sunlight hit them, and the Toa rolled over in his bed with a grunt of effort. Get up, Toa. Zeal planted his feet on the ground for the first time in five days. His steps were tentative, as were his thoughts. Grabbing his cloak and blade, left Room Seven, and dragged himself down for breakfast. After filling his still-growling stomach, he sighed, and left the inn, breathing in the fresh air of Le-Koro. Kai... He shook his head, and made his way down to the main platform, pulling his hood up on the way. Sister... Those who bothered to look would have noticed the Toa had a strange movement, seeming to sway from side to side. Half of this was due to a state of apathy. The other half was not having walked for nigh on a week. Dark circles sat under his eyes. The note still sat in his pocket. He froze. Normally he would've retreated into a bar and drown his troubles in Salamander's, but after... that... he wouldn't touch the stuff. Even seeing the logo would start him hyperventilating. The Silver Toa sat cross-legged on the ground. OOC: Zeal open for interaction.
  9. So basically, I went rogue for a month. Exams were heck, I didn't really have much time for anything, and after my last one about two weeks ago, I guess I just.... forgot about this place. I know I was meant to organise things with a person or two, and I'm really sorry I didn't get around to that. So I guess I'm back now. If someone could please give me a run-down of island/archipelago-wide or otherwise important events over the past month, it would be deeply appreciated.

  11. Probably could have phrased that better. Origin within the BZPRPG, who came up with it, etcetera?
  12. Could someone tell me, because I'm a fool, where did the title "Abettor" for big boy on the front page come from?
  13. IC: Zeal / Motara Desert - Somewhere'We're looking to crack this thing open,' the Silver Toa interjected, holding up the Mataraka briefly before replacing it in his cloak. 'Somehow I think you won't be up to it. You might want to get Bijackel to help you up to the cave, there, where you'll be safe.'
  14. IC: Zeal, Sister / Desert - Somewhere Her head snapped back up to the cave in the cliff face. 'Back up there?' She sighed and dragged herself to her feet. 'I'm going to have to get over this some time, why not make it now.' She wandered over to the cliff face and found a grip, her smaller stature allowing her to perch herself on smaller holds than the taller, gangly Toa. After a small bit of panicking, she found herself back in the cave. The Silver Toa turned towards the rest of the group after seeing that Sister had gotten up there safely. 'Okay, so are you guys ready? I have no idea what might happen, so there's likely no going back from here.' He produced the curious sphere from his cloak.
  15. IC: Zeal'Okay, so if where going to do this Mataraka thing, we're going to want to do it somewhere very much out of the way. Bijackal, any chance you could take us to the middle of nowhere?' He slipped out of his robes and hung them loosely over his shoulders in an effort to cool down.'Also, small sidenote; how many of you guys are up for this? I mean, we've got Dekuna and I, that's two of six.'
  16. For the few people I'm interacting with, I'm gonna be away for the next four days or so, so if you're wondering where I am, there you go.
  17. We don’t know where it came from, or how it got here. One minute it wasn’t there, and the next it was. A shadow fell over our village, blocking te sun entirely. We looked up, and froze in awe. There it stood, completely motionless. A low grinding could be heard, the giveaway of its mechanical nature. We sent out teams to perform reconnaissance on the structure. No signs of life were found in, on, or around it, safe for the massive boiler which burned day and night without cease. So we moved in.Huts were built on its back and between its toes, even in its unimaginably large maw. We grew used to the grinding, it become a harsh melody that sung us to sleep each night and brought about a beautiful dawn.Soon, we began to hear stories, of monsters attacking major settlements the world over. We merely laughed, safe in our fortress of metal and fire. Then it roared, a horrible screech of steel and eldritch terror. And then it moved.Thousands were lost that day, thousands more wounded and maimed. The Machine took its first tentative steps, crushing our former village, and those unfortunate enough to live around its clawed feet. Those in its mouth were swallowed, alive and screaming, fed into the unstoppable boiler. The ones who escaped into its body attempted to douse the flames, but found themselves burnt by the steam that was the product of their feeble attempts. The Machine had turned against us, and joined the legion of beasts that threaten our species and our home.We don’t know where it came from, or how it got here. But I know bloody well where it’s going.
  18. IC: Zeal, Sister / Somewhere - CliffSister peeked over the edge, and immediately took several steps back, bumping in Zeal, breathing heavily. 'Nope, nope, nope, not a thing. I'm not doing that.' Zeal knelt down beside the Le-Matoran. 'Sister, look at me. Look at me,' he said, his voice stern. 'It's just a cliff. The cliff isn't going to suddenly open up and eat you.''But... it's too high...' 'Darn it, Sister, you used to live in a village in the clouds! What's a little cliff compared to that?' 'My village fell. Boom. Hit the ground. I don't want to fall again.' Zeal sighed, and looked her in the eye. 'I won't let you fall. I promise.' He turned around, still kneeling. 'Climb on my back.'Sister, looking very uncertain, slowly climbed onto the Toa's back, clinging to him for dear life.'Sister... can't breathe...' Zeal choked out. Sister loosened her grip on his chest, chuckling nervously. 'You ready?' Sister nodded. 'Alright, here we go.'The Silver Toa moved himself to the edge of the cliff. He took a very brief and sobering look down, and lowered himself down until he was holding onto the edge. Grabbing his Reverse Blade, he dug it into the cliff-face, and started the slow descent.'Hey Zeal?''Yeah?' 'I looked down,' She informed her companion, quivering with fright.'It's okay, not much further now.' Right at that moment, Zeal struggled to find a foothold, and nearly put his weight on thin air. Sister let out a yelp, and started hyperventilating. 'Sister! Calm down. Another ten meters, maybe.' The Le-Matoran had her eyes tightly shut, her breathing loud in Zeal's ear.Another couple of minutes passed, and Zeal planted his feet in the hot sand. Sister fell onto her back, her breathing still heavy and rapid.'Sister. We're down.''I hate you so much right now.'He held his hands up defensively. 'Those are some pretty harsh words.' He looked up to the cliff. 'Come on, Sound Boy!' His yell was more urgent than encouraging.
  19. IC: Kai'lanShe gave an unenthusiastic wave to her last customer of the day as she wandered down the street. The Vo-Toa sighed, and retreated into her store/hut, locking the door behind her. The air inside the building was foul to most, but pleasant to Kai'lan, who knew it to be the smell of life. Many sorts of medicines and remedies were brewed in the backroom, her study and makeshift laboratory. She sold her tinctures to the local population for a reasonable price, but never had many widgets for herself after more ingredients were bought. Still, she pressed on, the feedback, good or bad, helping her to better her practices. 'Do you ever wonder what life was like before Kai'lan's Remedies?''Wondered? Yes. Cared? Not so much.' She wandered into her kitchen, pulled a bottle of wine from a low cupboard. 'He was real, you know.' The voice taunted Kai, who merely scowled, and poured herself a glass of wine. 'I doubt he was important. Probably just a good samaritan. You wouldn't know the meaning of the word, though.' A sharp pain stabbed through her head, causing her to press a hand against her temple. 'That's it, back to the corner, you go.' 'Aww, but I don't like the corner. It's dark in there. Oh wait, it's dark everywhere in here.' The voice chuckled. 'Did you know that, Kai'lan? Your pathetic little mind is so uninterested and sarcastic all the time that you wouldn't even know the meaning of sincerity if it clubbed you over the head with a Ussal on a stick.' It seemed to find this particular metaphor hilarious, as it broke into hysterics soon afterward.'Yeah, yeah,' she muttered to herself, producing a small vial from her cloak, and pouring the contents into the wine. They say a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, but Kai'lan found that a well-aged wine tasted a lot better, and the after-effects weren't half-bad either. She swirled the liquid around, mixing the medicine with the alcohol. 'Cheers,' She said with a smirk, downing the glass in one go.'Toorah, Kai.' Kai'lan could picture a dark figure waving to her as it faded into nothing. She shuffled into her bedroom, and flopped down on the stiff mattress.'Great Beings above, I need a vacation.'
