it is literally not possible to be sexist against men. women are a marginalized and oppressed group, and proper representation is important and rare. while Friends is nowhere near perfect (read: stereotypes), it's an important step for Lego towards equal representation, at least as long as we're talking quantity rather than quality.
By definition, sexism is a prejudice against one or both of the sexes, not exclusively against women. If that's the case, sexism is not the proper term, because it applies to both sexes. Also, I don't know about your experience but from my experience, I have seen many men both oppressed and marginalized.
Also, saying that only men can be sexist doesn't really serve to help the issue of sexism. It actually makes things worse. I think that most of us want a world where men and women are treated equally, given the same opportunities, freedoms, etc. But stating that all men are the root of the problem really only isolates men in the end, which is not what we want for either sex. The solution is not to treat men in the way many women are treated until it balances out. In my opinion, there have to be changes on both sides, not just one.

EDIT: Since this is sort of off-topic, I have something to add:
I think that, yes, LEGO probably didn't intentionally try to make Bionicle sexist. But that's really no excuse. Whether you're targeting a specific demographic, or not, a 6:1+ males to females gender ratio is kind of outrageous. This isn't even a slight imbalance in gender, it basically makes females nonexistent, which is far from realistic.

For future reference, make sure to check out the Q&A Compendium before posting questions. You would have found your answer here.

Rank images are meant to be a surprise and a reward for achieving post count milestones. There is no list of rank images or of the amount of posts necessary for them. It's meant to be this way, because such a list could spoil other members' surprise.

The mono-gender tribes are ridiculous. They need to go. I'd also like to see a more balanced Toa team, something like 4 males to two females, or even better, 3 males to 3 females. I think that Tahu could totally pass as female, and that Kopaka could probably pass as well. Personally, I think that Lewa, Onua and Pohatu are better off staying as males, although, I'm biased seeing as Lewa is my favorite character.

I certainly had some worthier opponents! It's great to see such a beautiful piece of art, "A Shadow Reaches," win. Congrats!

When i restarted my browser a bunch of previously clicked new images started popping up and ad-block + didn't affect them
Restarting your browser deletes the temporary cache it creates every time you open it up. There might of been a few errors that kept the images from popping up. The restart deleted the cache and probably fixed the problem. Glad the issue is resolved now!

This isn't entirely true. JavaScript isn't restricted to web browsers only and JavaScript doesn't require any additional plug-ins. Sorry for nitpicking.

I was only quoting an article from Java's website. But regardless, my point is that they are different and don't correlate (at least, don't correlate enough to cause any mutual problems on webpages).

EDIT: Also, glad the problem is fixed!

Currently trying to solve it by installing the latest version java Maybe the current java in my system has become severely outdated i'll respond again soon
JavaScript is actually very different from Java. Key differences between Java and JavaScript:
- Java is an OOP programming language while Java Script is an OOP scripting language.
- Java creates applications that run in a virtual machine or browser while JavaScript code is run on a browser only.
- Java code needs to be compiled while JavaScript code are all in text.
- They require different plug-ins.
You can find more information about their differentiation here.
In a nutshell, the version of Java installed has no correlation with how JavaScript will function on your browser.

EDIT: Could you answer my previous inquiries? The more information I have about your computer/browser/settings, the better.
Have you tried clicking the images on any other browsers, such as Chrome or IE? What version of Windows 8 are you running? Which version of Mozilla are you running?

It appears that Mozilla automatically allows JavaScript to run. There is no enable or disable option available unless you you install add-ons to do it for you. Do you happen to have such an add-on/extension, ---Kopaka Nuva---?

Here's a deeplinked screenshot but theres not much it can say other than imagine you click on a image and get no response as in a very dead or unresponsive link.
Weird. It works for me. Here are a few questions: do you have Javascript enabled? Have you tried clicking the images on any other browsers, such as Chrome or IE? What version of Windows 8 are you running? Which version of Mozilla are you running?

Do you have any specific examples, like xccj asked? Any screenshots?

It happens in any of the reviews i try out, simply no response, not even the rarely seen popup with a icon for broken image
Have you tried clearing your cache?

Do you have an example of the images that don't work? Does it do it on one or all of them that you've tried? I tested a few in my latest review, and they worked for me. But the code is very percise, and I know I've messed it up before when posting stories, so that could be an issue.
Seems like it's working for me as well. At first, I thought he was talking about something else, but now that I understand the question, I can confirm that the function is working properly on my end.
Like I said before, creating a Tracker ticket is probably the way to go.

I recently noticed that the bzpower image window(the one that pops up with a bigger version of images in news articles) suddenly stopped working.
I've checked both of my advertisement blocker add-on including killjasmin(it instantly closes intrusive popup windows but has never affected bzpower browsing before) and i've tried disabling Ad-Block Plus on the bzpower.com domain but no luck.
Any suggestion or answers if news pictures galleries are unavailable at the moment?
Recently, the front page, as you probably have already noticed, had a minor overhaul: meaning many of the broken links, features, etc. were either removed or edited. More than likely, the function you mentioned was a casualty of the changes. The best thing you can do is create a Tracker ticket about it here. Generally, issues like these that involve troubleshooting and possibly forum/front page changes go in the Tracker, whereas simple questions regarding BZP, such as questions about what certain parts of the forum interface do, go here in the Q&A forum.-Rez
EDIT: Seems like I didn't fully understand the question. Regardless, a tracker ticket may be the way to go.

This is so awesome! Can't wait to see what the front page will look like further on!

You're welcome. If you need me to put up the link to Loomis' stuff I can do that no sweat. Speaking of Loomis, start off with Fun With a Pencil and then move on from there.
Edit: Here is the link for Loomis' stuff. There are also a ton of other artbooks out there in pdf format. PM me if you want a link to those.
Just to warn you, the link contains some questionable material.

It might be some quick tests or updates, or just a server burp. There shouldn't be anything to worry about in the long run.

For anyone who wants a good understanding of comics consider reading Understanding Comics: The Hidden Artform by Scott McCloud. For anyone who wants to get better drawing for comics look up Andrew Loomis. His books are freely available online in PDF format. That's basically my advice, hope it helps.
so, here we go...
That colouring tutorial I made has moved to another folder in my majhost - and while I'm at it I also drop the links to the other ones here:
Colouring (hand-drawn): Link
Basic tutorial (2009; old but not completely out-dated): Link
Mini hair guide: Link

Agreed. Both Understanding Comics and Making Comics (same author) are great books and definitely among what I would consider essential. They're also fun to read because hey, comics about comics!
Thank you both for the suggestions and links. I'll add them to the main thread.
Also, at SOME point, I'll be remaking the videos for this topic, like I said months ago somewhere in this topic.

P.S On an off topic note could someone please explain to me how the mask thing works on this forum.
You can find out information regarding your question here, in the Q&A Compendium. If you scroll down, you'll find an explanation for your question about "masks," which are called "yearly masks." Each year following your join date you will receive a new "yearly mask."

This song is phenomenal on every level. I wish there was more beautiful fan-created music like this for Ninjago, BIONICLE, or LEGO in general. Will you be making it available for download anywhere?
Thank you so much! I'm contemplating putting it up for sale as a single on sites like iTunes, Google Play, etc.

Voted #2. Couldn't resist.
(Although that link is broken, might want to fix that.)
Yeah, I may have unintentionally done that...
Ryan, if you could kindly take the "-edit" out of the link, it should work. This is the correct link.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. If you actually host a contest vaguely similar to this, I will love you forever.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I really enjoyed this song.
I love how the piano is used in it. In fact, I really like the whole thing. When I first heard it, I didn't like someone was singing in it, but as the song went on, I grew to like it along with the rest of the song. Great job on making this!
P.S. Sorry if this isn't the best review of your song. The best thing I know in reviewing them is simply listening to them and going from there.
Thanks, man!
I'm glad you liked it, and I'm also glad you ended up liking the vocals in the end!
Nah, any feedback helps. This was actually very insightful. Thanks for the review!

My Brickfilm Discussion Thread
in Fan Created Media
Posted · Edited by Reznas
Hey, there! Welcome to BZPower, END! Hope you enjoy your time here.
Here in the Fan Created Media forum we don't actually start threads to discuss multiple creations of a specific category (you can post threads with more than one of your own creations, but it's better not to post threads discussing other members' creations as well--you can discuss their creations in the topics they create!); instead, we create separate threads for each piece of art we make. In this case, you've added a piece of your own art, so this topic is completely valid. But, in the future, remember that when you post in the Fan Created Media forum (and a couple other forums), make sure to create threads for your own artwork and comment on other member's threads to comments on their creations. Who knows, maybe someone will post another Brickfilm in the near future!
Also, make sure to check out the forum guidelines for Fan Created Media. As a general rule of thumb, it's helpful to check the guidelines of a specific forum before posting in it.

EDIT: Regarding the animation, oh, my goodness, that was so perfect! I absolutely loved it! The jokes were quite humurous, the graphics/aesthetics/? were impeccable and the LEGO builds and structures really fit the scenes. I honestly don't have much to critique, actually. Great work! Keep it up.
