  1. If they are embedded urls and not uploaded directly, do I even have to worry about the file size at all? Only the dimensons would matter if someone else is hosting the image, right?

If you embed an image URL like this, than you don't need to worry about any of the file or image size limits on BZP. The limits only apply when directly embedding an image in a comment, like this: ninjas_meet_thumbnails.png

  2. Then as long as my images are within the filesize rules for how big I'm allowed to post, they will adjust to fit the template accordingly?

But there's not a way for me to control how big it gets shrunk to like I could on Wikipedia or BS01. I would have to shrink the file on my own computer?

Does it make a difference that my images are from a url? I did not upload them directly to BZPower, I uploaded them to Brickshelf and embedded the url.

    Thanks!

You shouldn't have to worry about the file size limit most of the time, but if you do go over 750kB, resizing shouldn't be too big a problem. Yes, they will adjust accordingly.

If you do want to resize (if the image is pretty big, it might look pretty big even after the forum software resizes it), you will have to to shrink it personally.

There isn't much of a difference, no. The image size doesn't change unless the software converts it (which shouldn't happen unless you post an image into a comment).

    No problem!

EDIT: Also, notice that in BBC (Bionicle Based Creations), the file size limit decreases to 100kB, and the image size limit decreases to 640x640. This means you'll have to manually resize images yourself in order to post images in BBC topics. You can read more about that here, in the BBC Forum Rules and Guidelines.

  3. One I can't seem to find in here: When posting a picture in a post or a new topic, how do I make a very big image appear smaller in the post?

First of all, the software on the forums actually resizes any image you post, no matter the size, so that it fits the dimensions of the forums (this doesn't solve your problem, but it's always nice to remember :)). Secondly, the best way to resize an image is to use photo-editing software like Photoshop or GIMP. If you need help on that specifically, I can further assist you.

  4. Just remember Reznas...

The answer to everything is a ninja at level 42. ;)

The panels going in all directions was a little distracting, but I got it eventually. :P

So you do get my reference. Hehe. Honestly, most of the comic is a reference to something. :P

What if I told you the panels were...supposed to be distracting? Slap stick comedy for you! =)

  5. Why is the ninja chinese?! Ignore my whining, I liked it.

Because it was one in the morning, and I failed to remember that ninjas are Japanese...better fix that. :P Thanks!

Alright, the comic has been edited accordingly. I can't believe I made the ninja Chinese. :P Oh, well. Now it's Japanese.

  6. The limit is 700x300. :P

    You mean 800x300px. :P

Also, I would call this a wallpaper rather than a thumbnail. A thumbnail generally refers to a preview image of some kind of media. Unless you're referring to a YouTube thumbnail, since they require larger image sizes than normal thumbnails. Regardless, this is really awesome, and I've set it as my desktop wallpaper already. :D Keep up the good work!

  7. Not quite. Even though I have deleted a few photos, I still cannot upload any new ones.

Since this sounds like it's becoming more of an issue than a simple question, you may want to create a Tracker Ticket about it.

  8. I hadn't even considered that the countdown would be a tie-in to the topic title! I guess I appreciate it even more now.  : P

You are a nerd, but that's okay. It seems the M&M entries don't get approval for edits after submission...but I have no problem with the vocals, really.

Guess it really is like an Easter egg. :P

Yeah, I like being a nerd. :) Actually, I took it up with Emzee, and it looks like it's okay to change a couple of the vocals.

  9. The highlight here is obviously the piano. The chord change at around 3:23 or 3:24 - you seem to switch to a major there - is unorthodox but it really just works, and that moment stood out for me because I'm a nerd. In fact, I really appreciate the entire bridge section.

I really like this! The countdown at the beginning might be a bit cheesy, though in true Ninjago fashion, of course.

Yeah, I like using weird chord progressions. :) It's how I roll. Guess it's cause I'm a nerd too. Yeah, I decided I wanted to make the bridge special and different from the rest of the piece (I didn't want it altogether different, just unifying).

I'll be honest and say that the vocals aren't completely spot on despite what most have told me elsewhere (perfectionist me speaking :P ). I might even try and rerecord some better vocals and edit my entry, because honestly, I initially wanted the piano and the vocals to stand out. Seems like I did pretty well piano-wise, but I've got a bit of work to do on the vocals...But hey, this is the first track I've ever produced with vocals, so...

Thanks, Ryan! The countdown was a bit of an Easter egg actually. When I noticed the contest titled "Ninjas in Space" I instantly knew I had to tie space into it. At first, I tried some orchestral movement similar to that of the Planets Suite, kind of Star Wars-esque, but I decided against it in the end. Nevertheless, I left the countdown because it added a bit variety and awesomeness. :P

  10. So how will bio 2015 be revealed, a simple twitter post, a big livestream event, a simple press release, or maybe something else entirely, what do you think?

If you follow LEGO's Twitter page, you may have noticed that they are counting down to some kind of special reveal. It's assumed to be a reveal of Bionicle based on a few key factors. You can check that out here.
