  1. I might have some Dasaka characters check out the meeting, if I have any free time later this week.
  2. Don't think so. You'll have to wait on that one.
  3. I note that the Great Beings were originally planning to build a third robot to further assist Mata Nui. They lacked the time in the main universe, but perhaps here things were a little different. Perhaps Zuto Nui is the third robot. Having two Great Spirits running around would sure be interesting.
  4. I don't think protodermic vs. non-protodermic wouldn't matter to much until we hit the level of forging Kanoka in terms of tech. Then you need to distinguish for the sake of knowing what can and can't have fancy powers. But until then, we're fine.
  5. True, the protodermis could react like iron when oxidized. Knowing protodermis to be one of those mythical sci-fi do anything materials, it's entirely possible. I think I'll likely take the silver viewpoint in my writing, but you're free to stick to whatever you wish. On a side note, Lorax, could you please answer my PM about Clan Daikura?
  6. I would personally think that red actually makes little sense in this game. Our blood is red to my knowledge because of the iron our blood cells use to help carry oxygen (if I'm incorrect on this excuse me, going off memory here). But biomechanicals would not have natural iron, because they are composed of protodermis. In addition, liquid protodermis makes more sense than water for the same reason. Therefore, since protodermis, especially liquid protodermis, is commonly shown to take a silver color by default, that blood here would be silver. I don't mean to open a huge discussion on anatomy again, but just a thought.
  7. Another example would be Bijackal's Tracking Vision, which is essentially an energy hound's power given optical form.
  8. I think that makes sense, Ehks. Did players at some point agree to call the currency dragons instead of widgets?
  9. I think the only thing that fits that description is clay.
  10. If you're talking Dasaka, precious gems would make more sense. (Yes, I am online occasionally even when absent.)
  11. Just a public notice that I will be beginning my annual absence shortly, as usually happens right after New Year for me. This absence for certain includes January and February's first half- it may be as long as May if need be. It may be a period of decreased activity or a period of complete inactivity. Because of this Shadowhawk will have the Akiru, my only active characters, for at least two weeks, possibly longer depending on how long he takes to build his ship. If there's time, and some of the backend work with Lorax is complete soon, then I also plan to introduce my Daikura characters soon. So keep in mind that my activity in Kentoku may be limited if I start posting there. The Inferno and Toa Phantoka characters will remain just as inactive as they have been for the past few months. Some Inferno profiles might disappear soon to make room for new Dasaka, as those profiles run multiple pages. I do hope to find a way to post more often. My new tablet might help, but I think my schoolwork is priority. Being on a FIRST Robotics team eats a lot of time. For the long term, you should know that my activity may be highly variable for quite some time, if there's any at all.
  12. I figure you should be allowed to create a Taajar-just make sure you talk to House or whatever his current name is. I do have an artisan in the works-but as she's basically a janitor for the Daikura, that probably doesn't work too well for comparison. I have been reading Le-Koro a little lately, and it's most interesting for staff plot. Characters just finished returning from a confrontation with Echelon, which failed except in the sense that they rescued Utu. Everyone was worried because Joske disappeared from the confrontation. Then Dorian suffocated Utu and now he's got brain damage. Following that, Stannis showed up, and it was revealed he had sent Joske to explore the Legend (EW replaced him with another fire Toa who's going to the Massif after talking to Kongu.) That's Le in a nutshell.
  13. Just in case anyone from the clan is wondering, finally finished my profiles. I have one more in the works, but I will try to get to my first two soon. I believe I only rolled for two characters, so I think I can roll again for the third, giving me another shot for Antroku. EDIT:Finished the third profile, just need to talk to Lorax before I start posting.
  14. IC: Miraul led the Ussal Cart to the gates. Convincing the guards to let them past with the boilers wasn't easy-they had to let a Marine crawl inside to inspect them. Getting them inside the Village of Water was no easy task either-a little difficult to move through the gate, Bijackal and Divan had to wade through shallow water, step onto the lily pad bridges without dropping the boilers or damaging them, and without damaging the bridges themselves. Takamaz grumbled all the way as he guided the two heavy-lifters through the streets, complaining that the architects who built this village ought to be exiled from the island and never allowed to build anything again. The leafy bridges were so narrow that Miraul and Hikari had to clear them of civilians in advance-there was no way for people to slip by the massive boilers without going in the water-at least a few did. And that was just the first boiler going to the drydocks. Someone still had to move the second. OOC:Lorax, feel free to lift that second boiler. Or Reynar (Anxillia) can do it. That might be a little easier.
  15. OOC: Vilak from Ga. IC: Divan, Hikari, Axana and Takamaz labored for many hours to complete the first and perhaps most important aspect of the project, the heatstone-powered boilers that would power the steamship. Two cubes, with an edge of four feet each, were prepared. In the top, a number of holes existed, so that the heatstone cores could be raised and lowered into and out of the reactors, enabling the ship to be quickly powered down as Rhea had requested. A larger hole on top allowed steam to escape up a turbine, which would spin the powerful propellers faster than most sailors could imagine a ship moving. In the front, another spot allowed water to flow into the reactor consistently. Various safety features such as a primitive, semi-accurate pressure gauge and an emergency release valve. The entire thing was made out of protosteel to handle the pressure, and it wasn't thin protosteel either. Needless to say, Divan was tired Hikari prepped the heatstone cores, each about three-and-a-half feet long, and inserted one end into the protective casing that enabled the stones to be handled safely. With these prepared, Takamaz took the time to draft a second copy of the ship. He would leave it at the forge-just in case. Vilak returned, and revealed that he had found a drydock that they could work from. Miraul and Bijackal returned next reporting that they had recruited some help, but had to leave a note to Ferron in hopes he could come. The Akiru sought to hire two Ussal wagons the next morning for their trip, and readied to leave. OOC:Akiru to Ga.
  16. I like this, but I see some points for improvement. The fingers feel a little small to me-they should be bigger to provide a better sense of scale. I also think they're a little too claw-like for a Toa's fingers. I also wish we could see the front side-that way you could see what he looks like more, and it would also show what the mask of laser vision (That's what Dehkaz wears, right?) looks like. I think a frontal sketch would be interesting to see. But overall a very good job. The shading is indeed excellent, and I think you captured the back of Toa's head quite perfectly. (No sarcasm there-the back of the head is excellent in terms of anatomical design.)
  17. OOC:Vilak from Onu. IC: Any other element would have blinked quite a bit having spent a month in Onu-Wahi, and then emerging to the surface. Plasma was an exception to the rule, their eyes naturally protected from bright light. Vilak was grateful for this, for it now allowed him to descend toward the village of Ga-Koro without having to let his eyes adjust for some time. He reached the gate, and after explaining his purpose to a guard, he entered the Koro. The structures here were to Vilak's mind flimsy and vulnerable-though the leafy lily pads used to build this place could support weight well, a little use of his element gone wrong and some part of the village could wind up sinking. It was good that he had bladework and speed to work for him as well, rather than the destructive energy of his power alone, the hot gas that could melt and enflame so much. The feeling of leaves and ground that gave slightly under his feet was unusual to Vilak, and he trod carefully as he made his way towards the ports. The guard had been kind enough to direct him towards the drydocks, and there were several around. He made his way over to one, labeled "Trusty Elork's Honest Drydock"- the words "Trusty" and "Honest" had been scratched out and flipped in order multiple times. In front of the drydock stood a Toa of Air with a grin as crooked as his back and missing as many teeth as he was marbles. "Welc'me to Elork's! How c'n I yelp yaahh?" "Uhh...I think I'll pass on the help, thanks." Vilak moved on, moving to a more promising drydock a lilypad over. After fifteen minutes of discussion, and perhaps flirting, with it's owner, Vilak had his drydock secured, and a Toa of Plasma raced through the tunnels faster than before. OOC: Vilak to Onu.
  18. IC: A lone Toa of Plasma surged through the tunnels at a speed nothing else could match. There was no force sufficent to stop him, the sheer power of velocity incarnated by Kakama. A force of pure speed swept past anything in it's way, until it saw something it hadn't seen in a while-daylight. OOC:Vilak to Ga-Wahi.
  19. What does Ga-Koro have for drydocks? Or am I about to do some world-building?
  20. IC: Miraul wrote a note out to Ferron, borrowing some paper scraps Bijackal had on him. To Ferron or Appropriate Employees, I have recently been contracted for a large order, which requires the building of ship with steam power. The order in question requires a large amount of protosteel, exceeding my own team's production abilty. As a result I am seeking some additional metalworkers able to produce this material. This should result in pay more than worth your while. If you would be interested, please visit the Akiru Forge as soon as possible. In the event that construction has already begun, we will be located in Ga-Koro, and directions will be left at the Akiru Forge for others to follow. Sincerely, Miraul Team Leader, Toa Akiru On the back he scrawled a few directions to Forge, just in case, but he figured Ferron wouldn't need them. The Akiru Forge was only a few blocks away.
  21. IC:"I'll see what I can do about that-but Vilak is already securing that by Kakama. So it's a little late for that message." Miraul answered. "I have one more engineer to talk to, but I'll send word when it's time to go." With a word goodbye, Miraul set out to Ferron's Forge. OOC:Geardirector, that's you.
  22. IC:"Cost of labor, plus a sizeable profit. Assume several thousand widgets." Miraul answered. OOC:We don't have an exact figure agreed upon; but I figure the cost of a revolutionary ship outfitted in expensive materials is up there.
  23. IC (Matan): A few metallic bangs could be heard from the workshop at the back of the hous e before Matan came to the door. Recognising his fellow engineers, he smiled and invited them in. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" he asked. IC:"Simply put, business." Miraul answered with a chuckle, " A client wants a steamship, and wants it made of ironwood and protosteel. I don't have a Toa who can do elemental manufacture of ironwood in my employ, and protosteel tires out even the best Toa of Iron. So I though you might be useful. Would you care to do contracted work for us to help on the project? I note that we're looking into a Ga-Koro drydock to build at, so some travel might be involved."
  24. IC: A Toa of Magnetism walked toward's the shop run by Matan and Natan. Beside him walked a Skakdi, perhaps an odd sight in the eyes of some. Bijackal, the Skakdi, raised his hand to the door and knocked, creating a series of loud booms.
  25. OOC:Glad I don't use much font coding-look's like it pretty buggy right now. But I do need just a little: Lorax, Geardirector, expect interaction from me soon. IC:"I understand," Takamaz replied, "You need a durable, fast, and agile ship, designed for the best in mechanical quality. Secondary priorities are cargo and crew. Though I'm somewhat curious what you intend to do with your vessel. Beyond that, we need some basic details-how to contact you, where you plan to stay, etc, and then you can go. But active involvement in the construction might help you acquire results more perfectly to your liking, since you can help us work out minor details as we build." Miraul turned to his team,"Hikari, Divan, Takamaz, get started on the heatstone reactors. Those can be constructed without assistance. I'm going to see if we can't contract out some labor to some other shops in area-they might be able to help us speed up this project, especially in terms of mass producing ironwood and protosteel. Bijackal, you're with me on that-I suspect we may be talking with some of your kind. Vilak, go to Ga-Koro and secure us a dry-dock-for once, your talents might be helpful in business-but don't take that as encouragement. Axana, mind the forge-more precisely the customers-while we work. Try to be nice." A rougish smile erupted on the Vilak's face, and one of his swords was drawn-he never ran without it. Old battle habits die hard. "On it." An orange-white blur disappeared out the door-though perhaps it had paused to check out Rhea. Miraul turned to Bijackal. "Come on. Let's go talk to a few fellow engineers." OOC: Feel free to take care of the other people wanting to talk to you after you answer Takamaz's question.
