And trust me, you're not the only one.

I'm happy you decided to stick around... but for the most part, I'm happy with how BZPower has changed over the years. It's matured with its users and with the times.

It NEEDS TO DO MORE OF THE SAME. 

BZPower...I thought it was something that it was not, and the illusion died. But BZPower will rapidly become what I thought it was.

I’m one of those people who will respect you less if you pick an album to play, and then play it on shuffle. See, there’s a deliberate rhyme and reason for the order of songs on an album.

Amen. 

Especially with rock albums. You must play a Red album in order. Even some pop albums I've found lose something if they are played out of order. One particular pop artist wrote his album to be a unified expression about life that gets lost if you shuffle it. For shame, album shufflers.

Obscure, but: The School Story, The Starplace, and the Land of Elyon books still hold up for me. I easily could write full blog entries on each one TMD style, but shall refrain. (Frankly anything by Andrew Clements is solid reading for adults anyway.)

To summarize: strong female protagonists, and frankly a bit of a different take on the world. When I was younger, the "overcoming adversity" theme was really big for me, and in all three stories, it was the young girls who won and carried the day, despite all of the other characters and adults. The School Story is economic, The Starplace is social divisions (race, but also talent/personality), and The Land of Elyon is the unknown/unbelief in strange and exciting things (classic, but unlike doomsday tales of it not being retained as we get older, the series suggests that we can retain it as adults).

The School Story also suggests that female characters have more power than they realize in ordinary situations, even as it relates to adults. The story pulls back to focus on a female secretary at one point and honor her role in advancing the plot, shows the nervousness of a female schoolteacher as she does something for the girls, and relishes the moment of an intimidated female editor as she overcomes the fear of her boss. It's a feminist masterwork without having to claim itself as one, and a fine piece of excellent storytelling without having to blow itself up with detail. Every time I read it, I notice something new. 

You will be missed. Be sure of that. Best of luck on your future endeavours.

Since I actually remember SPIRIT's voice acting talents, I would actually pay for him to sing an Adele song. I think that would be entertaining.

Considering that I've paid $16 for full-length musical albums, and this is not an album but a single song. But then of course, I'm specially requesting it and then I'm taking up your time to record it, which has to be worth something.

You can ask. The best answer I can give you is "some people left". I'm not going to name names on this, out of courtesy for the poor people. Basically I'm the last (or near last) of a particular group of people that existed here once and no longer does, and I reacted to the slow whittling away of that group by adapting to how things were, which eventually got to being unacceptable and self-destructive. 

I can also say that it involves changes in S&T, which is where I started on BZPower. Many of those changes are for the better, some are for the worse, but it all combines to make me no longer necessary there. Aside from Categorical Greg stuff - that's why I'm finishing it. That's why it's also okay for me to run XXIX and Tales and stuff. I just have better ways of doing what I did there, and am doing there, elsewhere. Further, the current environment actually runs counter to it, which is fine. As does most of the forum.

Again, there's nothing wrong with me, and there's nothing wrong with the forum. I'm doing what I'm supposed to, and the forum is doing what it is designed to do. We just don't fit anymore. 

As for the projects that are evaporating right now, not all of them are fully secret from the internet. Some of them are, but not all of them.

I have to say that you were one of the people I was thinking of when I penned that line.

I can see the benefit from upgrading from Windows 8 to 10, but I'm not really motivated to upgrade my computer since my windows 7 is operating fine. 

It boots up slow, but I'm 90% certain my antivirus program is to blame for that. 

Hey, just noticed this is a thing I could enter. For some reason I thought this was a Ninjago contest or something, and I'm way behind on my Ninjago. But I digress.

 

So, it says don't enter if it's expensive to ship to wherever we are. Is Australia too far off? Oh, and if it is, can we still enter for funsies? I might slap something together for the fun of it and, I don't know, request a crudely drawn image of the set of my choosing if I were to place in the competition.
