  1. I wonder how Chambliss got his job.
  2. IC: He wondered about Esen. This was something he had never witnessed, and thought it seemed to be of concern to Kyle, Cero was more curious to discover its meaning. Kyle spoke. Was he really strong? Again, his answer option amounted to a dead end. He had no way of knowing. Whatever the case, he remembered traveling with Pokemon since the Darkrai were defeated, so he supposed he could say that. But that wasn't the whole story. When he first looked at Piedra after the accident, he remembered, there had been a vague feeling of satisfaction. His growth into a trainer hadn't been just about finding his own place but about being more satisfied with it. He couldn't say that he had totally developed his calmness under fire or his attention to detail, either. So perhaps by taking the path of battle, he had been fulfilling his past inclination. Yet there was also the memory that had come to him in Goldenrod of the Armor Bird, the Skarmory. If he had really battled before, he wouldn't have allowed that kind of abusive violence. He was sure of it. His hand massaged the back of his head as he thought. He unconsciously shifted from characteristic military sit, with arms restrained at his sides and legs neatly parallel, draping his torso over the single and crossing his right leg over his left. "Since the Darkrai's defeat," he settled.
  3. IC: "Yes," Cero said, pocketing the package and following Kyle. His future awaited him.
  4. IC: Cero cleared his throat, thinking. He wasn't exactly sure of what he was doing, but he knew staying here was not an option, and going--or growing--with Kyle was. He knew so little. To know more, he'd have to move forward; to become stronger, he'd have to face more challenges. And he had to progress, because all he had was that which had been given to him. He wanted more. He wanted someone who was also committed to development, someone who wasn't bound to one place, and someone who he could learn from; but he, without a name, mainly just wanted someone to identify with. The word "friend" came to mind. "Mind if I come with?"
  5. OOC: Funny how the OOC-IC boundary works; IC I am receiving an apology, and OOC I am apologizing to you. I can only say that I've been inundated with applications the past few weeks. IC: Cero retrieved the wounded Lillipup absently, taking the prizes with a quiet "thanks." On the plus side, he had done well, and if the prizes had any financial significance he would be better off. But he did not know if he would have won that fight. And that was a completely bad thing. Assuming his mistakes and his opponent's were equal, then he would have said his team's performance was mediocre. Both him and his companions had to improve more, as Leviathan and now this showed. He needed to do well enough. Only then would he honor the name of Team Magma, or his own... Kyle snapped him out of that thought. "Yes, it's fine," Cero replied abruptly. "A rematch would be nice...sometime." A thought struck him. "Say, where are you going?"
  6. Might be out of it for a little while. Have a few things to work on, including something for this place.

  7. IC: Cero preferred not to face another type disadvantage, but he remembered things could be worse. Per the rules, both of them had been locked into these last four Pokémon--and both his were fresh, while one of his opponent's was weakened. At worst, Viajero could weaken this one enough for Aridez to do cleanup on those remaining. At best... Viajero's enhanced force could fight this weasel to both their ends. He resolved immediately that there would be no "worst." For a companion who had fought through Leviathan, the show would go on. "Fire Fang." Viajero, having stared the Mienfoo down with a courage he copied from his master, sprung to life. Attempting to avoid the palm, he jumped up and pounced with blazing fangs outstretched for her arm.
  8. Onu-Koro has been preparing for this in the months between the last war and this one. But she has been ready since her birth. It's an honor to see the dream realized.
  9. Sorry about the relative lack of movement in Cero vs. Kyle recently. I'll be returning shortly.
  10. Trying to send you a PM, but I don't think you have the space.

    1. Relapse

      Relapse

I cleared up some space, hit me up.

  11. Sulov came back to Onu-Koro. Meanwhile, Kol's quest ended, so he's back as well.
  12. Happy birthday. Please make it happier by returning to the RPG forum.
  13. IC: "Roger wilco," Gyn sang quietly, fixing a small, focused lantern onto the underside of the crossbow. That would do for illumination without room for a bigger source; he knew his experience in the darkest village had trained his vision for the dim, and Dalrin's vision was at its peak in murky conditions. He'd be able to see his target no matter how far he got from the group. He hefted his weapon and felt the stock nestle into his shoulder, the grip hug his hands. He readied to nudge its body and knew where the tip would point. Sweep left, right, down, up... The flames, animated, licked his throat. It was all so familiar. He felt like nothing had changed from the first time he stepped into the unknown. He always did, and yet he always experienced a rush more fervid than anything he had previously felt. He advanced.
  14. IC: The Tympole fell unconscious while the sand petered out. Cero sighed. There was work to be done. He summoned Viajero. Though the Lillipup was at the same stage as the Tympole, Viajero was more experienced and faster, traits that would be useful when fighting a confused opponent; Cero thought that his bond could be deepened even further with success here. But there was another reason he had chosen the Lillipup in spite of those with even more experience. "Work Up and Thunder Fang." As soon as Viajero appeared, the dog was dancing, pumping himself up in response to his trainer's orders. The memory of his ineffective performance in Goldenrod was still fresh in his mind, and now that he was facing a regular-sized opponent, he was determined to prove himself. He shot forward with crackling fangs aimed at the otter.
  15. IC: "Already there," Gyn muttered softly, fire at the base of his tongue as he turned his repeating crossbow toward the noise and set a cartridge in it. "Dalrin, watch my back; orders, Colonel?" He directed the last few words to Leli.
  16. Walnuts, specifically. Always balls to the wall.
  17. ...Urye, just what are you doing? That chapter gave a lot of questions without matching answers, alongside Franco being a leader. So it was very interesting. I'll null vote.
  18. IC: "You heard her," Gyn said, warm again. Darling Dalrin was doing splendidly. He gestured to the wall where antidermis has been detected. "We need to probe the wall, dig into it and see what's happening, but caution comes first." A child of the darkness much as Gyn, Dalrin doubtlessly knew not to compromise structural integrity. Yet there were other risks that came with this territory, and if the rumors were true, they were risks Gyn did not believe he could take in good faith.
  19. If there are 36 at just one building, I wonder how many Dreads there are in total. In any case, this was a nice chapter with a fun little scene at the Regolith, and the first on-screen blood spilling, which did not happen to include me. ... Chapter Survival Progress: 1/6
  20. I use too many usernames to briefly talk about all of them, so I'll just discuss my first and last. Mangai-Hau was my attempt to make a heroic Bionicle name ("Protector-Shield") for my self-insert. Carson Chambliss is the name of the insidious antagonist of Wiley Cash's A Land More Kind than Home, which is a character I love from a book I enjoy. I've come a long way.
  21. I liked that chapter. For voting, I'd say B is obviously contrary to the group's interest (we're losing members and splitting up is a bad way to ensure that doesn't happen). A is a step up the totem pole, but only C is appropriate when the group is hurting so badly as it is at present, so I'll go with that. Bonus points for providing an opportunity to introduce new characters.
