I wanted 3D Mario Wii U, Zelda Wii U, Star Fox Wii U, Metroid Wii U, Animal Crossing Wii U, and F-Zero Wii U. Instead, I got Mario Maker, Zelda 3DS: Gimmick Edition, Zelda 3DS: Remake Edition, Metroid 3DS: Spin-Off Edition, Animal Crossing 3DS: Spin-Off Edition, Animal Crossing Wii U: Spin-Off Edition, and no F-Zero to speak of, as usual. And then there was that weird Japanese trailer for FExSMT. What the heck was that? At least we got Star Fox, but even that was kind of underwhelming. The lack of online play in particular is quite disappointing.

He swung the loaded gun back to its place at his side and raised both hands, drawing on Rhow's power to fill the air around the beast with droplets of water. "Rhow, help me out here!" Catching his meaning, the other Ga-Skakdi raised her hands as well, holding the droplets in the air as Iraanus drew a pair of knives and threw them at the rahkshi in quick succession. Unsurprisingly, neither struck its mark - the creature ducked under the first and performed a sort of backflip over the path of the second, twisting in midair and advancing leisurely toward Iraanus upon landing. Rivulets of water streamed off the rahkshi's sleek armor as it moved forward - Viloz would have to act quickly.

IC: When Rhow charged forward, Iraanus waited mere moments before joining her. But even the combined assault of the two Skakdi was insufficient to make contact with the rahkshi. The beast weaved nimbly around his spear and sidestepped his vision bursts with impossible speed. His concentration lapsed momentarily as he attempted to strategize - if he filled the air with water droplets, it couldn't dodge them all, and once it got wet, Viloz might be able to slow it down a bit by freezing--- On autopilot, Iraanus lunged toward the rahkshi at the moment Viloz covered the floor with ice. He swore as he skidded forward, and the rahkshi took the initiative to make its first strike. The creature's staff sliced through the air, cutting a sizeable gash in the armor protecting Iraanus' forearm. Regaining his footing, Iraanus made use of his momentum to slide beyond the rahkshi's reach, checking himself against the tunnel wall. He reached for an acid zamor - and then paused, glancing at the silver spheres that accompanied his green ones.

Reading The Count of Monte Cristo currently. It's unabridged and it's 1240 pages and it's amazing. Also reading Frankenstein for school. Should be done with that soon since we're reading 30-40 pages per day.

Smash 4 All-Star is ridiculous. Just yesterday I finally managed to finish clearing it with every character on Hard (3DS version). Would not recommend. Basically consists of: 15% Stage-induced deaths20% Inescapable combos and juggles10% Counters15% Unpunishable shields, since grabbing the guy who shields leaves you open to everybody else10% BNF and stupid gimps15% Inability to see yourself thanks to the tiny screen and massive stage5% Having 99 damage when you need to use the Fairy10% Legitimate victory100% FrustrationNot to mention that some characters are simply terrible for All-Star. Palutena comes to mind. On the other hand, with heavies (ie Bowser, Ganon, Mac, Ike, etc.) All-Star is a walk in the park since they can survive extreme damage as well as deal extreme knockback for early kills, since opponents die more easily in All-Star. Glad that's over.

So I was driving somewhere today (that is, yesterday) and American Authors' "Best Day of My Life" came on the radio. I hadn't heard the song in a while - since it hit its peak of popularity in early 2014 - but I really like it. And here's why: it's about perspective. This is gonna be the best day of my life, because I'm going to treat it like it is. And guess what? Tomorrow is also gonna be the best day of my life, and so is the day after that. If I keep my life in perspective of what's really important, things can only get better. Sure, there'll be rough spots, tough days, painful moments. But that's OK, because I'll take the good with the bad and just make the most of whatever situation I'm in. Ice Climbers for Smash Wii U Naturally, I took the last day of December to look back on 2014 and decided that it was, all in all, a pretty good year. Without getting ... too personal, I learned a lot about myself and started to broaden my horizons. On the other hand, I have some regrets - stuff that didn't go the way I hoped it would, stuff I attempted and failed, stuff I did that I shouldn't have, stuff I should've done but didn't. Yeah, I screwed up a lot in 2014. or riot But that's just the thing. I can't change what's happened - my mistakes - but what I can do is learn from it and keep things - both bad and good - in perspective. Because it's just like that song, except now instead of days we're talking about years. 2014 was good because I choose to see it that way. And 2015? 2015 is going to be even better because I'm going to make it better and make myself better. And I'm going to keep doing that for the rest of my life - I'm going to learn from my successes and failures and continue to grow personally and learn more about myself and about the world.
