  1. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki coastline "Unless you're a lot stronger than you look, I dunno how much use those will be." I held out my hands, "Lemme see that staff and one of your daggers for a sec, some of that binding, too." Ooc: @Lady Takanuva
  2. IC Luten - Ostia -Fowadi "Mm-hmm! Did I miss anything important or exciting?"
  3. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki Refugee camp: "More like a curse," I muttered. "Anyway, if we're all rested up, we could go see what kind of shape any other boats in the area are in?" Was this a very poor attempt to quickly change the subject? Yes, absolutely. @Keeper of Kraata
  4. @Silvan HavenA tier system might be a good idea, actually, I'll have to come up with something. And maybe having a bracketed tournament that people can participate in? Meanwhile outside of the tourney, exhibition matches and other fun PvP scenarios? To answer your first question, @Click this game could offer players opportunities to try out some of those fights that they never got the chance to do in a more narratively driven game. For your other questions, the how's and why's weren't super important for what I was trying to create, so I honestly didn't put any real thought to them. I think your concerns about power scaling are pretty valid, and as stated by silvan earlier, I'll probably end up implementing some kind of tier system.
  5. Mobile formatting is pain, please excuse my lack of decorum here Fight Club Want to fight? Here's the place to do it. Want to learn how to write fights better and more dynamically? This is the place. Want to get your toes wet with some PVP but don't want to risk your characters life in one of the other RPs? Have no fear. Fight club is here with all the PVP action you could ever want, at no cost. So how does it work, I hear you asking? Well it's very simple. The Fight Club is its own little pocket of space and time, tucked away in the corner of the multiverse. Getting into it is easy, anyone who wishes to battle can drop in at any time, and can leave just as easily when their spirit has been sated. The dimension is broken into several areas. The main area is the cozy interior of a cabin, full of plush chairs, large viewing screens, and a kitchen. The cabin never gets cramped somehow, and the kitchen is somehow always stocked. The other areas are the arenas. No one is really sure how many of these exist, but it is known that each one is unique, and the same arena never shows up twice in a row. Getting from the cabin to an arena is simple. Two or more characters who wish to battle star their desire for such, and they are transported into an arena. There they remain until the battle is concluded. At the end of a battle, or upon defeat, all participants are transported back to the cabin, fully healed and alive(or whatever form of unlife they might have been in before entering.) Some force prevents fights outside of an arena. Should one character not wish to fight the other or others, the aggressing party cannot "force" a fight by striking or attacking in any manner. Said party would simply find themselves unable to complete an attack. Unable to throw a punch, unable to pull a trigger, loose an arrow, unable to release an elemental attack. How this works is unknown. Rules and important info: 1. Every character in this game should be here because they want to fight. How you justify that desire is up to you. 2. There are -NO- power limits. You can create as strong or weak a character as you want. However, keep in mind that you may not get many fights with your unstoppable invincible god of combat character. Keep things fun! 3. Play fair. We all know the drill by now. No godmodding, no auto hitting, no pulling secret powers out of your hat that aren't listed in your profile. 4. Each and every fight -must- have at least one overseer. This overseer effectively becomes a GM for that arena and fight and their word is law for that fight. Anyone can be an overseer, but they cannot have active participants in the fight. If you do not have an overseer, you cannot fight. 5. How a battle is decided is up to the players participating in it. You do not have to fight to the death if you don't want to! Profiles: Your profile must include the following: Name: Species: Appearance: Powers: Weapons: You can include more if you want, and are encouraged to, but these fields must be filled out for a profile to be considered complete and ready for play. Arenas: Coming soon! You aren't limited to these, and it's encouraged to come up with fun and creative stages to set your battles in!
  6. IC Listen - Ostia - Fowadi: She shook her head, "Uh-uh. Just wasn't time for sleep anymore. Did Mr. Praggos and Ms. Skyra come back yet? I wanted to ask them about their visit with the Maru!"
  7. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki refugee camp: Ohnoohnoohnoohnoohnoohno "No, like.... with my.... brain. Like a lot of it. From the....ocean. Which I was in at the time cause I was running away and all. I didn't really fight it off so much as I got away from it. Maybe it being all rubbery made it hard to swim, I dunno. I hid in some sea grass til it went away." I shrugged. To be honest, it had been far more than that. That thing had chased me into the ocean, not knowing I had some weird freaky connection with water. I'd created a whirlpool that I'd hoped would keep it away, but it had stretched out and grabbed me. If it hadn't been for my mask and the fact that neither of us could escape the torrent while it was still going, I'm pretty sure we'd have both drowned instead of just the creature. To be honest I'm still not sure if it was really dead, but I didn't stick around long enough to check. @Keeper of Kraata @TL01 NUVA
  8. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki Refugee camp: "I managed to get away from one that was.... I dunno, it was stretchy? A tan one, I got away from it in the water, but when I tried to attack it the thing just bent around my blade, and nothing I did seemed to do anything to it! Not until I started throwing water at it, anyway. That at least kept it away from me so I could escape." Internally I froze. Why in the world had I said that?! Throwing water?! No, it's fine. I'm just...... a Mindarm? Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, a Mindarm. Who can..... only grab liquids. Totally a thing. ****** me, I'm doomed. @Keeper of Kraata@TL01 NUVA
  9. IC Luten - Ostia - Fowadi: With a soft chime and a yawn, Luten appeared atop Kale's mask once more, having evidently napped long enough. She stretched out, rubbed the last dregs of sleep from her eyes, and spoke. "Mornin'..."
  10. IC Katrin Long - Ga-Koro: Through the busy lily-ways of Ga-Koro wandered one of the many Dasaka from the Kentoku Archipelago. Notably different about this one in particular, was that she had a grin on her face. a genuine one, untainted with the strain that many others had after leaving their homes due to the invasion of the Rahkshi. No, Katrin was quite pleased with her situation in life. a whole new place to explore. a myriad of new people. with new people, came new techniques. ones that no one of the Archipelago would have ever thought of before, built from a very different set of martial needs and abilities. She wanted to see them all, fight against them all, to see which were the best for her, so she could build her own style, one that would be un-defeatable. And then? Well, she wasn't too concerned about then. Maybe she'd teach it to others. She could even charge for it. That was a distant horizon, though. For now, her goal was someplace called "The Crucible". She'd heard talk and gossip about the place, and more importantly, where it was, and what went on there. Fighting. Betting, drinking, eating and other things as well, but the fighting was the real draw for her. She couldn't wait to get started, her blood yearning for the thrill and exertion of battle. First she had to get there, however, and it was a bit of a hike. Getting through the village was only the first step, she'd next need to follow a footpath out into the jungle, eventually crossing a bridge, from which a fork in the path should bring her to the place. in the meantime, as she made her way around, she gawked freely at everything. people, shops, homes, boats, fish.... there was so much here. So alive, and constantly moving. The energy reminded her of the Imperial Palace city in a way, though far more down to earth. OOC: Katrin OFI!
  11. IC Yuna: I shrugged sympathetically, "Plenty of those to go around, can't say I blame ya." @TL01 NUVA@Keeper of Kraata
  12. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki Refugee camp: Enough boats for everyone?! "I uh.... I mean I guess I've seen a few more here and there, but it'd take some doing to get them water worthy again." I gave a brief glance to some others at the camp. "I don't think some of these people would be able to make another journey, though." @Keeper of Kraata@
  13. IC Luten - Fowadi: *yaaaaaaawn* "Mmmmmm...... whadid I miss? Are we gonna go see Mr. Stannis?"
  14. IC Tarkahn - Akiri's Office: He nodded slowly, taking in the words of all of those in the chamber. A less astute man might have wanted a chorus, but Tarkahn knew that innovation thrived when there was competition. He noticed the discomfort of his Guard captain, and let the lid fall completely over the heatstone on his desk. "I understand your concerns regarding their mental abilities, however, for the time being, I do not share them. These are refugees, after all. It would hardly behoove them to start causing trouble to the people taking in their civilization. I agree with you, Korzaa. They should be welcomed here. And any who wish to reside permanently should be allowed to do so, under the same expectations as any citizen of Ko-Koro." He paused for a moment, then added, "Although with cultures coming together like this, perhaps some expectations and rules will need to be changed..." He shook his head. "Thoughts for later. On to more pressing matters. The rahkshi. I suspect the cultists of Makuta are behind the attacks somehow. But we need some kind of solution. How can we stop the attacks once and for all? I can hardly call on the other Koros for this, as I'm sure they are all dealing with similar situations." He rubbed his temples, "If Nuparu would just allow us access to those schematics, we could mount a better offense against the things." @Keeper of Kraata@Visaru@Haman Karn: A Magical Girl
  15. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki Refugee camp: Internally, I groaned. I should have guessed a Menti would be a stickler for Order. "Well, it's not like you two are in any fit state to go anywhere just yet. Get a couple of days of rest in you, give it some thought." I shrugged. "Zuto Nui help you if you snore, though. We had to hide one Menti in the basement with rugs over the opening for fear she'd draw those creatures to us with the noise!" @Keeper of Kraata @TL01 NUVA
  16. IC Tarkahn - Akiri's Office: The Onu-Matoran made a face at the phrase, "Please, I'm an administrator, not a despot." He fidgeted in his seat for a moment, then sighed, "I don't have all the details, but i recently recieved word from Akiri hahli that a large group of refugees from a distant land have landed on her shores. These people, Dasaka, fled their home after...." He took in a breath and blew it out, "After their islands were swarmed by Rahkshi. This comes along with increased Rahkshi activity along the Dark walks. it cannot be a coincidence." He wrung his hands. "Someone or something has clearly stirred them up. Ko-koro is still rebuilding. I..... am unsure of what to do. I would like to offer space for the refugees, but I do not know if we have the means to feed or house so many." He gazed around wearily, "I would value the input of you all in this matter, especially you, captain, and you, Toa Maru. This was your home before it was mine, and you know the people of Ko far better than I." @Haman Karn: A Magical Girl@Visaru@Keeper of Kraata
  17. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki refugee camp: "Oh, you know, talking about childhoods, travel plans, the usual." I sat down across from him, giving my own bowl a swirl before taking a tentative sip to test the temperature. "How do you feel about heading to Sado?" @Keeper of Kraata@TL01 NUVA
  18. IC Luten - Fowadi - Ostia: A small chime sounded in Kale's mind, but Luten did not speak. the connection between the two became soft and hazy, a usual sign that Luten had drifted off to sleep. Meeting so many in one day, and moving around as much as she had was draining.
  19. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki refugee camp: This girl was a little hard to pin down with all these surprises she kept throwing my way. "Talk....about my clan? I mean... I dunno, no one's ever really asked. I.... I guess it couldn't hurt. But let's get this food to your boyfriend first," I teased. "Plus then we can sit and eat. All stories go better with good food."
  20. IC Tarkahn - Akiri's Office "Very good, let me clear some space..." The Akiri haphazardly moved various bits of Exo-matoran and tools with his foot, and threw a cover over the machine. It ggav the room a little more space, and looked a little less like a mess. "Alright, let's get through this, come in, everyone, please. There's much to talk about."
  21. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki refugee camp: I set my own load down, and gave the refugee preparing food a polite bow as I took a proffered bowl of soup. I handed one off to Raika and took a third for Ahri. "Believe me, its all appearances. I'm not much of a Menti, honestly." Or at all, really. It had a kernel of truth, at least. I felt bad, lying to Raika like this, but how was I supposed to tell her the truth now? Hey Raika, I know I saved your life and brought you here and want to travel to the palace with you, but I need to tell you I've been lying about who and what I am the whole time! Yeah, no thanks. "My clan was small, so we didn't have much of the rigid castes you see in larger clans or in the cities. We all just did our part, y'know?"
  22. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki refugee camp: That one caught me. Something like her? What the heck did that mean? Was this some Menti thing I was too Saihoko to understand? I mean I'd met my fair share of overdramatic Menti, but this felt a little more real. "Hey, don't sweat it. We can't learn every discipline, right? Everyone has their strengths." I really tried to say those words with conviction, tried to echo the way my sister's had said them those years ago. They felt hollow in my mouth. At least Raika had some legitimate disciplines she could fall back on.
  23. IC Yuna Koizumi - Oki Refugee camp: I handed off a bunch to Raika, and gave her a smirk, "That I did." As we walked, I spoke my idea aloud. "Look, there's not much here for Ahri, but I hear there's still major power left up at the Palace. If we can make it to Sado, we might be able to find a Willhammer that can help." That was a big if, though. @TL01 NUVA
