    Best of 2012

    Ah, 2012. How I despised you.
    Of course, there was the occasional good thing.
     
    Best Film: Seven Psychopaths. If you're legally able to and haven't done so already, watch it. It's a brilliant film.
    Best Song: lolnope
    Best Real Life Event: Not counting getting a girlfriend, because in the long run that did so much more harm than good, I don't think I really had one.
     
    So, um... that's it. Hoping 2013 will be a tad better.

    NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
    Get a girlfriend with good taste in music.
    Get a genuinely sane friend.
    Finish incomplete epics on BZP.
    Stop overthinking things.
    Stop participating in useless traditions.

    Fun Day

    I was at a First LEGO League competition today. Ditched my team in favour of talking to one of the girls on the other side of the hall (until my wingman got jealous and screwed everything up).
    Got her name. Or not. Can't be sure. Waiting until I can get someone else to confirm whether or not the person I found when I searched the name she gave me in is her.
    Either way, I had a good time.

    ...Is now my favourite song.
     
    Also, status update about my granny: my dad visited her in hospital; she's not doing well, but he says that the doctors don't believe it's time to gather around her bedside yet.
    However, there was an unnerving amount of emphasis on the 'yet', and I can't help but worry that I'm going to lose a second grandparent this year.

    Found out when I got home today that my grandmother on my dad's side had a stroke today, and is currently in hospital.

    Got Black 2 yesterday. I've started giving all my Pokémon human names. My current team:

    Doggy thing the name of which I've currently forgotten: Steve

    They're usually tolerable, but a few minutes ago I had to hand out the last of the sweets to two girls. And they kept giggling.
    I tried to smile and ignore them, but the giggling was annoying.

    Bullying

    I was recently sitting in a class, and the meaniebutt who sits behind me was, without really going into the details, bullying me. The guy sitting beside him tried to point out that he was doing wrong, but do you know what he said in response?
    There are so many things that are wrong with this statement that I could never write all of them down, but I'm going to tackle a few right now.
     
    He was being serious.
    You read right -- this guy honestly thought that it wasn't considered 'bullying' unless it was enough to drive a person to suicide. I don't know what the worst part of this is. The fact that he was just taking suicide for granted? The fact that he was convinced that he was doing nothing wrong? Maybe the fact that, according to this statement, he was happy to call himself innocent, convinced that if he wasn't it would drive me to suicide, and only then would he be wrong. Let me repeat that: he recognised some of the worst consequences of bullying and he still went through with it, happy to wait until someone died before he would stop. There is something really, really wrong with our society if people taking their own lives can be taken for granted like that.
    Okay, so maybe he was joking. Let's consider that for a second. Not only was okay with bullying someone to suicide (admittedly, what he was doing to me wasn't serious to that point, but it doesn't change the fact that he pretty much said he would be cruel to people until they killed themselves), he was happy enough to make a joke about people committing suicide due to bullying.
     
    I'm not going to make more points, because this'll end up as line upon line of ' ' emotes if I do. But, I think the point in this is that there is something really wrong here. We're never going to end bullying, despite the consequences it's been shown to have, because as I've just shown, many of these people honestly do not care about the consequences of their actions.

    Is when you're faced with players who play less realistically than a Pokémon game, whose characters are more lifeless than some roadkill and whose grammar and spelling are worse than that of my 9-year-old brother.
    I'm not naming any specific people here, but, guys, everyone's had this problem at some point, right?
