oh, he will. only important for once episode and with the scene done that explicitly, there is no doubt at all.

(this is how i pretend that moffat doesn't hate us enough to bring back magnussen and let us drown in the bitter sting of our disgusted tears)

it would take an awful lot to mess up moriarty's character, tbh

but yeah, i'm actually really glad they didn't put too much into making magnussen season 3's big villain, because i honestly don't think he'd have stood up to it

he worked because the audience was so repulsed by him, and i don't think they could have sustained that, or kept him in any kind of over-arching role, due to the nature of the character

i was glad that he didn't try too hard to be another moriarty, though

he was a distinctly different character, and while he wasn't a great series big bad he was undoubtedly the best one-episode villain sherlock has had so far

no problem

magnussen freaks me out. i love him as a character, and that episode was great, but i physically squirm while watching him

fair enough, i guess

i loved him for the alternative take on moriarty's character (that still remained surprisingly true to the books), andrew scott's brilliant performance as him and just how effective he was as a villain in the story

the kind where it's like, 'that character's awful and detracts from the show', or the kind where you actively really dislike the character in the way that many people dislike villains

what kind of 'nononono do not like'

he was the evil equivalent to sherlock, while magnussen was the evil equivalent to mycroft

and i loved moriarty

if you think it is Charles Augustus Magnussen, then yes

iPod died, and took with it two unposted Marked chapters, which was unfortunate, and i'm currently working through exams, but hopefully both of those things will be fixed soon enough
