  1. IC: Thel "You should probably think it over some more. If you're really serious about it, go find an Arthron first. Then you can learn to how to fight." The ice cubes made a satisfying clink as Thel paused for another sip. "Say, what's that on your hands?"
  2. IC: Thel A blind person trying to fight. Thel didn't know what to say. "You sure you want to go down that road?" he asked, obviously more puzzled than concerned. "Not trying to be rude or anything, but I don't know how well that's going to work out for you. There are plenty of other ways to contribute that are less..." Likely to get her killed? "...dangerous."
  3. IC: Thel "Coming right up," the bartender replied, getting started on their drinks. Meanwhile Thel perused the menu, and in less than a minute he had spotted at least ten different dishes he wanted to try. Takea steak, Fusa confit, Tarakava stew, it all sounded delicious. By the time he made up his mind, the bartender slid their drinks in front of them, followed by an order of the spicy Keras curry. "Cheers, Viis." Thel held up his glass, then clinked it against hers before taking a sip. "So if you're not a scientist anymore, what do you do now?"
  4. IC: Thel Thel let her vent without uttering a word. He reminded himself that she was blind and probably had every right to be feeling a little snippy, even if he'd only meant it as a jest. "I'll take your word for it, doc. Also, we're here," Thel said, pushing the door open. The bar had a rustic feel to it, almost like one of Ta-Koro's usual taverns, while still retaining some of Ga-Koro's tropical flair. Just as promised, only Skakdi manned the floor, a neat sight considering most of them tended to more brutish occupations. With a tug of his arm, he led them to a pair of empty stools by the bar. "I'll have an old fashioned. And a menu." The bartender nodded, then looked at Viis. His eyes drifted to the blindfold. "And you, miss?"
  5. IC: Thel Gatker "Mmm." Thel hummed, nodding in understanding. "And what was the job? Don't tell me you were a dentist."
  6. IC: Thel Gatker "Thel," he replied simply, pulling her along. He'd never imagined himself walking a blind person before, but if he did, he would have assumed they'd have a walking stick or something. Viis had nothing, which he found strange. Maybe she left it at home because it'd be useless to her drunk. "This your way of picking up boys?" Thel joked.
  7. OOC: I gotchu. IC: Thel Gatker Thel Gatker, humble bounty hunter, awoke to the waterfalls of Naho Bay. At first, his mind only registered their thunderous roar, a deep rumbling that echoed ceaselessly inside his cave. It was chaotic yet soothing at the same time, and evidently Thel had found it to be the perfect lullaby for an afternoon nap. He rose from a soft patch of moss, rubbed his eyes, then checked his watch. He'd slept for four hours, all the way into the evening. Longer than he'd intended to. There was still light out but it was getting darker, and the thick curtain of water concealing the cave's mouth made it difficult for anything to filter through. I should eat something. He ruffled inside his bag for food. Nothing. All he had was a handful of widgets- his very last to be exact. That meant one more meal before he starved for another couple of days. "...####." Thel groaned. That was the thing with bounty hunting: you made your living off the people you bagged, and if there wasn't anyone around, well, tough luck. Ever since Ko-Koro turned into a refuge for the island's scum, most bounties turned cold or pointed there, and he didn't have a death wish. There just wasn't enough cash in the business to keep him afloat anymore, though he wasn't about to sulk on an empty stomach. And so, he grabbed his bag, exited the Naho Falls cave, and headed for Ga-Koro. ......................... If Thel wasn't going to eat for a while, he figured he might as well treat himself to something good. He'd never been but he heard this new joint, the Great Takea, was a Skakdi-run bar known for its exotic cuisine and strong drinks- exactly what he needed. As he followed the road, someone caught his eye- a blind woman, holding up a sign. Written on it were the words "Pls Guide Me To The Nearest Bar." He felt a little pity when people ignored the sign as they passed her by. "Hey," Thel said, approaching the lady. "Need a hand?" He hooked his hand around her arm in offer.
  8. Oh snap, peeps already want my head. Gonna vote Rahkshi Guurahk and Smoke Monster.
  9. You're cordially invited to... A Train Heist What: Train robbery Where: The Iron Mahi, Po-Wahi When: Soon, hopefully Why: 'Cause it's gonna be big, fun, action-packed, and totally cool How: It's a secret Who: Anyone, really. If you're not part of the heist crew, just pop your character on the train at the time of the event. Guardsman, civilian, opportunist crook, doesn't matter. If you want in on the crime, PM me with a character to join the heist crew, then I'll fill you in on the details. Low key, we really, really need more heist members. As an afterword, the RPG's been kinda slow lately, so I figured this would be a great way to bolster some activity back into the game. If you're looking for something to do or you have a character kicking around, I strongly recommend checking it out. I'd also like to give a quick shoutout to Silv, Po-Koro's Akiri player, since he'll be helping me run this event. Stay tuned.
  10. Sounds good, I'll keep in touch. As for your question, just a bit's happened since the Legacy's takeover of Ko-Koro. They've still got hostages and the rest of the island hasn't attempted to take it back yet, though there are a handful of characters gearing up for infiltration. Some of the Maru are already on the inside, including Oreius who's currently duking it out with Eisen for the hostages' freedom. Meanwhile, Echelon and Kohra are in the Dark Walk doing who knows what. Ty already mentioned Joske's fate. The Dasaka in Ga-Koro are still kicking around, and it looks like it'll stay that way for a bit since they plan on exploring the island a little more (or something like that). Not sure how public the news is yet, but word should travel soon enough if it hasn't already.
  11. It's an idea worth considering. I'll probably be looking at making it a two-sided quest since conflict between PCs is usually more interesting if managed properly.
  12. Who knows, I might start a quest of some kind to pump a little bit more life into the game. Just gotta figure out what kind first. Could be anything like a treasure hunt, clearing out a rahi den/gang hideout, a heist, a bounty hunt, searching for a missing person, etc. If anyone's interested or has any suggestions, lemme know.
  13. The best advice I can give you is to go read all the rules and guidelines in the Starter Topic and Profiles topic. They'll provide you with most of the pointers you need. Otherwise, Be mindful when looking for interaction; even though it's encouraged, it's not always appropriate to barge into other people's businessIf you can't find interaction, embark on your own adventure and hope someone tags along for the ride. It's also not a bad idea to advertise that stuff in this topicPlay realisticallyGenerally speaking, our characters are very similar to superpowered humans (anatomy, etc.)It's not all about winning. A protagonist who succeeds at everything makes for a boring story. Character development is essentialQuality over quantity. This goes for posts, characters, etc.Don't dabble in staff/plot-related events unless you're willing to risk the consequences. A smart roleplayer with good experience under their belt has less to fear, but they're not exempt from getting their characters butchered or crippledAsk for help if you need it That's all I got for now. We look forward to having you around if you end up joining
  14. This is probably the slowest the game's ever been. Not a lot has happened since Echelon's takeover of Ko-Koro, so you're not gonna have to worry about catching up (unless you're completely out of it). Finding interaction will probably be more difficult than usual, but I'm sure you'll get something eventually. I might even consider rolling with you
  15. I've never bothered using an URL for pics, so I'm not sure if Google Drive would be viable or not. I personally find it much easier to save an image to my computer, then upload the file. No URL or hosting site needed.
  16. IC: Rungui "That's because I am," Rungui said, rising up. "Don't worry, it was never mine to begin with. I just happened to find it in the Dark Walk; too valuable to leave behind. Besides..." Sliding one hand to his holster, he pulled out yet another gun. It was small like the revolver, but had a clunky shape fed by a drum magazine. He levelled the weapon with the dummy, and with a pull of the trigger, a violent wub reverberated throughout the room, and a shimmering beam-like distortion blurred through the air. What remained of the dummy's upper torso exploded into a confetti of straw. "I've already got this."
  17. B A M B O O Z- Good game, boys. I'll try not to lynch as many homies next time
  18. Sorry cowboy, it's foreign tech that I got approved as a reward from the Dark Walk quest.
  19. IC: Rungui "...if that's what you want." Rungui said, choosing his words carefully. He sensed Dalrin's apprehension. "Are you afraid of it?"
  20. IC: Rungui "Well, let's see," Rungui said, examining the end result of their little experiment. Dal had missed only twice, which went against the Vortixx's expectations, and tallied up a double-double when it came to crippling versus lethal shots. Decent for a first timer, but Dal didn't need any more praise, God forbid. No, if Dal could use anything, it was practice. And Rungui was feeling generous. "Well, you're not getting any beer tonight, that's for sure," he stated, taking back his revolver. From a squatting position, he flicked the magazine open and let the empty casings fall to the floor before outfitting it with a fresh set of rounds. Popping it back into place, he returned the gun. "But you can have this."
  21. Third time on the suspect list, and I've already lynched two homies. If that's not bait, then I don't know what is. Voting Dragon.star.
