  1. I only voted City as my number one even though it feels like they just rehash police and fire departments while forgetting there's more to city life than that - I'm still waiting on my hospital! Anyway, I didn't really have anything else that I buy...except for Hero Factory but I only buy them for parts and to corrupt their story so that the factory is evil and then throw in some space-time travelling shenanigans.that break the barriers between the Before-Time and After-Time of my lego universe. but I digress... As for Galaxy Squad, I vote them as my '2 because while I've not bought any of them yet they do have my interest, particularly since the largest set is actually decent value for money.
  2. IC: Litozen and Thentyle:"I'm fine. It's not been that long already, has it?" The De-Toa joked slightly, unaware of what had happened to his ally in the time since they last met. His guard was down too much in the presence of allies. "So anyway, did you find anything interesting, like more followers in our cause? Thentyle and I found nothing, so we've just been getting to know each other as colleagues a bit.""Yeah, ;'colleagues'..." Thentyle rolled his eyes, still unsure what to think of what he'd been roped into.
  3. Oh my. I don't post for about a month or two having got bored, come back to find one of my character's only friends has been forcibly brainwashed into some cult whose purpose I am unsure of. And yet all i can think to say is "that's normal."
  4. OOC: sorry for my abhorrent absence recently. IC: Litozen (and Thentyle) The two Toa had been wandering around the koro for a while now, discussing several matters. Over the course of their discussion, Litozen was beginning to feel more and more convinced that Thentyle would probably not be the best suited for what he and Syvra were intending - though as he wasn't the brightest lightstone in the mine, it wouldn't be too much of an issue. They came to a stop when Litozen saw his ally not too far ahead, and hurriedly walked towards him. "Syvra!" He called out, unaware of the events that had passed. As Thentyle followed, the Onu-Toa had the strangest feeling that something wasn't quite right, but he dismissed it. After all, both of these toa he was with didn't feel normal anyway, much less the one who kept threatening him.
  5. Marvel had their films. Let the other themes get their chance to shine.
  6. Colour me impressed with a shade of wowsers!I'm sold on this. Yes, it's going to be as cheesey as a Mouse family playing monopoly but even so I like the self-parody it's going for. I'd agree we need some bionicle reference, more than anything else I want them to acknowledge Lego Island in some way. It feels like ever since Xtreme Stunts they've just forgotten all about it. I'm not saying put everyone in but if we've got Batman and the Avengers and even a classic space pilot, why not Pepper Roni or the brickster, or even the Informaniac? I'd jump for joy seeing them.Plus, I think the best thign about this is probably...well, it's exactly what you'd expect from a lego movie isn't it? Referencing its sets, creative use of the bricks, and Lego humour. I look forward to it undoubtedly. As for how audiences will react, well let's face it - audiences are picky. But I don't care, anyone who has seen a brickfilm before will know what to expect.
  7. Yeah, that may be it, but I think he's just stating that the power of the Great Mask is so great that it lingers with him even after it's been sent to Ko-Suva. I though he was just putting the first mask on over the second mask, and as such could switch powers between them at will. That's how it works. Put a mask on, and it becomes part of the collection on the suva. That's why Tahu Nuva can't use any masks besides his Hau Nuva, because Ta-Suva was destroyed by the Rahkshi. No, that's not what I meant. I meant that it looked like you could have two masks on your face at once. Technically, no. Bionicle 2 would have you believe it were possible because of when Vakama put the Vahi over his Huna, but that's probably artistic license since in the Bohrok Kal storyline we see Tahu use it without his own kanoihi. Putting another kanohi on would send it to a suva, if one is nearby. Otherwise I doubt it would attach to your face at all without first removing the previous kanohi. I've not seen any of the Metru comics, but I'm pretty sure of the no-two-masks rule. It's suvas or nothing, and the only way any being in the MU could switch between powers would either be to have the Golden Kanohi, which had the powers of all six Mata masks without needing a Suva (now gone) or to wear a mask of conjuring...though the latter can be found or made unlike the Golden Kanohi, it does take 30 seconds before you can change to another power, not to mention you have to programme in the power itself anyway AND phrase it properly. Honestly I'm surprised more Toa didn't use it.But on the topic...the first comic is canon save one word, 'Tohunga'. Nothing a good find&replace can't fix anyway.
  8. I must add to this; if the Red Star had an automatic transformation system in case Toa were needed outside the MU, was that a one-off automatic system or would it theoretically be capable of doing it again to a Matoran of Spherus Magna? I know there's still plenty of Toa on SM, but under the right circumstances...
  9. This isn't a surprise in the slightest, in fact I'm surprised this wasn't done sooner. But even so it is a shame to see it go. This may well mean the loss of the serials, too. Not that it's entirely a problem. I mean, personally I'd say the golden era was pre-bara Magna myself so I lost interest in the 2009-10 story anyway. Not to mention, the site went through numerous updates and lost information I wanted which I have to wiki all the time instead, with the 'Stars'/spirit-robot battle version being my least favourite. But as I said, it is still a shame. But this doesn't mean Bionicle is dead per se. It just means it's going into the Lego Vault...I do hope they open that vault and try stuff again. Seriously, I want to see them bring back all kinds of old stuff from before I was born with a fresh breath of life in them just to experience what the older Lego fans got to. They did it with Space Police three times, why not other stuff including Bionicle?Anyway, I'm digressing a lot. Most important thing is, the official site shall leave us, but all of us are proof that Bionicle is not dead. Just...'paused'. And even then we have our heavily-established canon, and our less-established individual fanons as well. Bionicle shall always remain with us, even without the official site.
  10. IC: Litozen & ThentyleBoth Toa nodded to Syvra before he left, and once alone Litozen began to ask more questions, feeling it better to get to know the Toa one-on-one."You said you arrived before the Rahkshi attack, correct? What brought you here?" He watched as Thentyle's expression became grave."My home was destroyed, flooded. I travelled endlessly as the sole survivor, dug my way to Po-Koro, then wound up here.""Sorry to hear that." Said litozen, knowing how painful near-death could be. "It's alright...I know that nothing will ever reverse what happened. All I can do is live for my friends." Thentyle was becoming more and more somber as he thought about it, and Litozen realised this would easily become counter-productive if it continued and decided to change the subject."We should let Syvra do whatever it is he's planning to do. For now, let's investigate the area." The Toa of Earth nodded, and the two-bit team entered the Koro, passing by Syvra and nodding toward him before they proceeded in investigating the shops in the area. OOC: Open for Interaction!
  11. IC: Celite - Daylaria's Mind She winced. She knew of the dangers Iden-users faced. She had heard tales of how their spirits could dissipate,"I'm sorry to hear that." She said solemnly, for the first time in quite a while actually meaning it. "I don't have much reason to be here. Daylaria just gave the the option to be taken and it's better than spending a lifetime behind bars. Besides...I might learn some interesting things." As she said that, she drew up a chair and quickly grabbed another engraved tablet of information from Dalyaria's memories before sitting down next to Kyron. Coincidentally, the tablet was about the Iden itself, and she began taking a note of the key points."Spirit...separation...Death...Elements..." She muttered, nodding as she flipped over to the second side. "I could really get used to absorbing all this information..."
  12. And possibly other Rahi that may have stumbled in there before the village militaries began guarding. Assuming the Rahkshi didn't kill them. All in all, it's too dangerous to warrant much beyond poorly-thought out plans to hide there.
  13. IC: Celite - Daylaria's mindThe mind of the Turaga had not had enough time to respond to the Vakyr before she had gone, and a library surrounded her. Celite gave a sigh and looked around. "If this is the interior of a mind...I'm impressed." She said as she began walking through the seemingly infinite corridors of the mind, shelves galore with what could only be described as stone tablets with information engraved on them. Even a mind wasn't as technologically advanced as reality, or so it seemed. One by one, Celite began to take tablets and read the information on them, written in the Matoran Language. Celite was beginning to understand basic information about the Valkyr, or at least what her host knew of her own kind. Upon finding information about naming patterns and the 'tradition' Daylaria had spoken of, Celite raised a would-be eyebrow and nodded. "I see...I prefer my original name but at least when she is present I will come up with a new one." She said to herself. Celite then stopped reading and wandered back to where the other Toa had been. As she approached him, she tried to speak softly. "Kyron, was it? What did she mean when she said you were looking for your brother? And more importantly..." The Vo-Turaga shaped as a Toa gestured at the magnificent memory bank they were in, "Why would you regret being immortalised like this?"
  14. Hm. I do hope Vox reads that...Although I wasn't around long I know I only saw clever uses of the thing. In fact I must have predicted it would be banned or something considering hwo I quickly replaced the only one my character had.
  15. Thanks for the confirmation, Tuck. I figured you'd say something like that.
  16. I know what rebounding and sensory aptitude looked like. It's just more from the perspective of having a picture drawn out to add to the descriptions. Of course, it's really a pointless thing to ask about. We may as well ask what a Noble Kaukau looks like or something...hm. A Turaga with a noble Kaukau, now there's a useless character idea.
  17. Interesting. I know we have an 'approved' list but I do wish we also had a 'banned' list. Being able to remember the ones you can't use seems easier than the ones you can. On that note, do 'illegal' masks actually matter on Matoran characters? I note the list specifies "allowable Toa/Turaga Masks", and the question came to mind.In any case, Lorax that was a great census. I think it isn't surprising how few Kaukau users there are. After all, it's so single-use. Other masks can be used creatively but a snorkling mask doesn't do too much unless you want to fight a horde of Dermis Turtles. EDIT: adding to Gear's post: I like those name choices. Now if only we had a 'design' we could agree on for the unseen masks.
  18. IC: LitozenLitozen nodded in agreement. Syvra was completely right, and if not for the fact that the latter was doing more harm than good on the most part to the potential for gaining converts, Litozen would not have been taking charge of the situation. "Completely correct. Now how to do that..." He said, his grey feet plodding into the ground with every step through the tunnels. His thoughts were disturbed when he heard louder footsteps, and traced the origin."Thentyle, do you have to be so loud when walking?""I can't help it - I have claws that make my feet larger and heavier.""ugh...Fine." The De-Toa was irritated by this interlude, though carried on walking anyway, still in thought. "Suppose we offer assistance to potential converts or even random targets. That's one way to gain trust."
  19. I think the bit about how Western Europe view value is rather interesting considering a set can have a higher price tag in the countries where value is perceved to be high. That honestly confuses me. A £20 set would be about $30, so I do wonder how you can think you get more value for something which costs more in your currency (even if they are the exact same value, give or take). Still, I'm not surprised, at least for the UK (assuming they count that as Western Europe since we don't get our own mentioning...I hate when we get called Europeans. Two rules of life: never call a Candian an American, and never call a Briton European...but I digress). I'm not surprised because at least here it feels like we're one of the most frugal people on the planet nowadays...but who can blame us?
  20. With Celite now a part of someone else's mind and my other two characters working together (one not out of choice)...And I'm so tempted to make a new character. Pehraps a Ta-Matoran or something. I think I have just the profile in mind.
  21. IC: Litozen & Thentyle"Anyway, we've got one ally. We should keep going and gather more. At this rate, we'll have a group ready in no time." Litozen said, turning his back on everyone else. He began walking down the tunnel from whence they came, planning on taking the right fork instead. He noticed the others weren't following and stopped to order them, looking over his shoulder through the ends of his Tuning Fork that was on his back. "Come on. The tunnel this way will get us to the Koro faster. We're bound to find workers along the way." he waited for the others to catch up. Sure enough, Thentyle began walking towards him. The way Syvra and Litozen treated him seemed rather 'good cop bad cop'...and he was taking a liking to the Toa of Sonics over the other one.
  22. IC: Litozen & Thentyle The Onu-Toa shook his head - although such an action was difficult due to the size of his shoulders and the fact that, as always, they obstructed head movement."No, I'm not wanted. I try to stay out of trouble all the time. I've never done anything adverse before. Why?" "Because anyone who is wanted or high-profile will be a hinderance to us." Litozen answered coldly.
  23. IC: Thentyle & Litozen"Ah!" He called out as the vines wrapped around him. "Okay, Okay. I won't betray you! Just stop doing this!" Thentyle was coming off more and more as a coward, although the reality was he simply was not suited to close combat and as a result being face-to-face with an adversary was rather uncomfortable. A voice then cropped up again from behind Syvra, as Litozen shrugged."Syvra, you shouldn't be so cold with converts. I doubt all of them would be so brainless as to go along with it.""Hey!""Apologies, of course.""Nng..." Thentyle was starting to question if this was worth it. Then again, he had nothing else to do so he may as well. And based on how the Toa of Plantlife was acting towards him, it began to appear to the Thentyle that even if he didn't like what 'Decay' believed in he would be stuck serving them anyway. So he may as well try to go along with it. "Uh, truth be told I've only just returned to Onu-Koro myself recently. I don't know the in's and out's but I know the basics..."
  24. OOC: No, he removed it at the end of the last arc, he now wears a Huna in its place.IC: Thentyle and LitozenThe De-Toa held back a snicker at hearing Syvra utter the word 'brother'. It didn't seem to suit the Bo-Toa at all, although Litozen still found it touching nonetheless. Thentyle, on the other hand, was still feeling offended at being referred to as not being bright. But even so, he was glad someone could still use his help even if he had just tried to endanger them out of pride. "Beliefs? What kind?" He thought about it for a moment, then realised if they didn't share the same thoughts then he might not be of use. "Uh, forget that. I'll help you...whatever it is you need."
  25. IC: Litozen & And Thentyle"I said 'bother', not 'brother'." Litozen corrected when Syvra misheard him. Clearly despite the training together and their newfound alliance, Syvra was still the same old Toa of Plantlife as when Litozen met him; malicious and self-centred. "Try listening to what people say and you'd have less enemies." He was unaware that this was effectively echoing the words of Syvra's mask.Thentyle, meanwhile, was beginning to feel confused more than afraid now, the illusion changing had started cluing him in on what had just happened, although the conversation between the two Toa made the word 'ally' seem almost worthless. "Uh...R-Right...Decay." He said, looking into the hollow and frightening eyes. "I...I'm sorry...I just...I'm Thentyle...." he dodged away and dropped to his knees in front of Litozen. "I'm so sorry! I've just had nothing to do and I wanted to be appreciated again!" Litozen brought Thentyle back to his feet and didn't look happy."Stop whining." He said, irritated, "If you need appreciation, then we could use you.""Use me...?" Thentyle said, confused.
