      It's rather difficult to separate the "human experience" from biology, considering biology is what powers it. Allows it to exist. Without that wonderful bit of wetware we call the brain, the human experience would consist of drooling and not remembering how to breath.

      The most anyone can really agree with there without the clashing of various beliefs is that life-force powers the brain. Stuff like the source of conscious enters sketchy belief ruled territory, where differences can get pretty heated.

      I think it's fair to say that consciousness is an emergent system no matter what you believe.

       

      Unless possibly one believes that humans are unequivocally favored somehow, and that consciousness is an inevitable consequence.
