  1. So to what extent is a Persona's manifestation affected by, say, the Major Arcana they are based on? Also, say someone with a Persona had a passion for something, like warhammer or pokemon or something. Would that affect its appearence? (Example being someone with Arcana for justice, who loves a specific yugioh card that has a lot of law/order/heroism attached, would their persona look similar? Or is it just mythological stuff?) Wow, that came out longer than expected.
  2. IC: Jake "I couldn't agree more. Thanks for the ride, and for the history lesson." Jake said with a smile. Pikachu had already jumped off the balloon and was rolling around in the grass, glad to be out of the air.
  3. OOC: Second in Jam Trilogy between us three. IC: Arius Jacobson, Ruth Fishers, Jake Harris Upon entering the forest, the temperature dropped a few degrees. The calls of wild Pokemon filled the air, and if one looked closely they would notice the slight burbling of a stream somewhere near the path. "Do you guys think that we are almost to Alamos? I am getting tired of seeing just trees and stuff." Jake punctuated his statement with an (obviously fake) over dramatic yawn. "I hope so." Ruth groaned, stopping to stretch. "This path feels like it's taking forever..... I thought traveling around and seeing nature would be the best thing ever. Now I know how mind-numbing it can get....." the Trainer sighed. Caliburn followed the girl's side faithfully, while Fuerte hopped from tree to tree, annoyed at the group's slow pace. Locke had been recalled on account of falling asleep-again. "Jake One, you've got the map, right?" she asked. "Can you tell how close we are to Alamos?" Arius rolled his eyes. "We just got into the forest, you know. I mean, we're kinda almost there, but still." He scratched the back of his neck, and glanced around nervously. Forests had scared him quite a bit, mainly the idea of pokemon leaping down from the trees to attack. That wasn't a fun thought ever, really. Arius shook his head, and kept walking. "A bit...chilly in here, isn't it?" Jake shrugged. "I guess, but it isn't really that cold." He frowned. He was getting a funny feeling from... somewhere. He closed his eyes and shook his head, and the feeling vanished. That was odd... Jake thought to himself. "Oh, so I'm not the only one...." Ruth said in dismay. "Guess that's why trying to think warm thoughts isn't exactly working..." she muttered while shivering slightly. This cold seemed weird..... Like it was a sign of sorts. But for what....? ".....Anyone got anything interesting topics on hand....?" the Trainer asked, wanting to move past the low temperature for some reason. "Well... this isn't really an interesting topic, but does anyone know how to fix power lines?" Jake asked. "Uh...you...throw stuff at them until they work? Replace fuses until it works? I dunno, never had to fix them before myself." Arius said. He kept his hands near his Pokeballs, just in case anything tried to attack them. He was being paranoid, yes, but it would be better to be safe than sorry. "Uhm, well..... Not really." Ruth admitted sheepishly. "I'm no mechanic by any means. I mean, I don't even understand how a Pokeball works. How does it shrink em and keep em inside all nice and comfy?" she said with a small giggle, trying to lighten everyone's mood. "But uh, I guess we'll have to hope they have some instruction manuals around, huh?" "Yeah...I mean, it's interesting to think about. Wonder what it's even like inside a Pokeball, honestly." Arius tapped his index finger on his chin thoughtfully. He hadn't thought about that before, really. "I honestly don't know anything about that... we should ask the next Pokemart owner we see, because they might know. But if worst comes to worst with the power lines, I know someone who probably knows someone who could walk us through the entire thing. Of course, it is possible that something just needs to be plugged in... which would make this, if not a waste of time, then simply a detour." Jake smiled. "But hey, if I get to hang out with you two more because of this, then all the better I say." Pikachu agreed with this by giving a grin and two thumbs up. "Yeah, we could always do that. They might know something. about it." Arius paused, and chuckled a bit. "It is nice spending time with you guys, since it's fun actually not being stuck at home. Really, it'd take a lot for me to consider going back to sitting at home, barely ever getting to leave..." "Oh, well that's pretty nice of you to say, Second Jake." Ruth said teasingly, giving her traveling partner a friendly punch to the shoulder. "But yeah, you two seem pretty cool. I know my parents would have my head if they found out I took the gamble to travel with two complete strangers. Luckily, seems like I actually had good judgement." she said while smiling. "Welp, either way, we go to Alamos Town, figure out what's wrong, then head back to seeing the region and fighting Gyms along the way. Sound like a plan?" the Trainer asked, stopping to hold out her hand, waiting for handshakes from both Jake and Arius. Jake shook her hand enthusiastically. "Sounds like a great plan. Hopefully, after that we could all enter the Pokemon League and go for the top!" He said, excited by the mere thought. Arius stopped, and nodded before shaking Ruth's hand. "Yeah. Sounds like a plan." He smiled warmly, and glanced over at Jake. "Maybe we will. Heck, we probably will in fact! We're going to go until we can't go any more!" "Shoot for the moon!" Ruth said enthusiastically. "Even if you miss, you'll end up among the stars. Sorry for the cheesiness, but I think this is one of those moments where cheesy is good." she said with a wide smile, rather enjoying this moment with her newfound friends, almost forgetting about all the worries she had earlier.... Then Fuerte cawed loudly at the group, telling them to get a move on before continuing to leap from tree to tree. "....Welp, looks like we need to start moving again." the Trainer sighed, resuming her walking. "Cheese is always good! Especially on crackers..." Arius said, mumbling a bit at the end of his second sentence. He chuckled at Fuerte, and started walking on the path once again, towards Alamos. "As long as we don't get too cheesy too often, I'm fine. And I think moving along is a good idea, unless we want Fuerte to have an energy overload." Jake commented, then continued walking down the path.
  4. IC: Jake "Sounds great. Hopefully it's just something minor..." Jake trailed off as he began thinking of all the possible ways the power could fail. "Well, anyway, sorry you didn't get to battle Jacob. Thanks for having us here Roark." Jake glanced at the wall behind him. "And, umm, sorry about your wall," he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment, referring to the small furrow his Machop had made whilst sliding down. Realizing they were leaving, Pikachu jumped back up to Jake's shoulder and put the green hat over his trainer's face, which was immediately snatched by said trainer and placed on his head.

  6. IC: Jake Jake raised his eyebrows at the double K.O.. Those were exceedingly rare in his experience. Speaking of rare things... The trainer glared at his Pikachu, who was sitting a few feet away and still refused to give back his hat. Currently, the electric-type had it balanced on the tip of his tail, and was still shaking with laughter at its continued possession of the green hat. Jake sighed and rose and applauded Ruth for her great match, still carefully watching Pikachu for a chance to get his hat back.
  7. I don't know about that. I follow, but just don't post on this topic and I am sure others do the same.
  8. IC: Jake "Thanks for the battle Roark! Your Pokemon are really strong." Jake complimented. He took the badge, and Pikachu jumped up onto his shoulder to get a better look at the badge. Jake then turned to his friends. "Yep! If Roark says its good, then I say battle. Good luck!" At that moment, Pikachu decided that Jake had had enough basking in his victory. He dove from Jake's shoulder, snatching the badge and Jake's hat in the same move and took off towards the bleachers, making a noise that could be classified as maniacal laughter. "Pikachu! I thought we agreed that my hat is off limits!" he called as he ran after his Pokemon, a wide grin on his face.
  9. IC: Jake "In that case, use Electro Ball!" Jake called to Pikachu. Without further ado, the Electric-type back flipped into the air, charging up a ball of pure electrical energy before firing it straight towards the charging Cranidos.
  10. IC: Jake Pikachu faltered, and when he landed on the ground he was moving quite a bit slower. ""Pikachu, use Agility then Quick Attack to avoid the rocks!" Jake called to his Pokemon. Even with the speed boost from Agility and Quick Attack, the Electric-type was hard pressed to avoid the various falling rocks. Until an extremely large, fast, and unavoidable rock came straight at Pikachu. "Bat that rock right back with Iron Tail!" Once again, Pikachu's tail glowed with a white light, and with a spin and flip to gain momentum Pikachu sent the rock straight back towards Cranidos.
  11. IC: Jake Jake smirked. "Not happening. Pikachu, use Agility to avoid it!" Pikachu waited until the last second, watching the Rock-type getting closer and closer until, just before the attack connected, Pikachu seemed to disappear, leaving speed trails as it reappeared directly behind Cranidos. "Now Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Jake called out, grinning. The Electric-type jumped, his tail starting to glow as he brought it down towards Cranidos's head.
  12. IC: Jake After recalling his fainted Machop, Jake grabbed Pikachu's Pokeball off of his belt. "I think I'll do well enough to beat you!" Jake called out. "Now, go! Pikachu!" With a flash of light, Jake's Pikachu appeared, static sparking from his cheeks. "I know this doesn't seem like the best choice, but Pikachu is my starter. I know we can win!" Pikachu confirmed his trainer's statement by standing and giving a thumbs up. "I believe that you can have the first move." Jake said with a smile, anticipating a great battle already.
  13. IC: Jake "Machop, I know you can do it. Run towards Onix!" With all the strength left in his body, Machop bounded straight for the Rock/Ground-type, focusing all his attention on his opponent. At the same time, he noticed Onix's Iron Tail coming straight down for him. Judging that the distance was close enough, Jake called out what he figured would be Machop's final move this battle. "Slide and use Low Sweep, aim for the boulder supporting the rest of his body!" Machop did exactly as asked, and impacted Onix just as Iron Tail smacked down. A cloud of dust was raised, obscuring the final result of the clash. When it settled, Machop was lying on the ground, clearly fainted.
  14. IC: Jake There's got to be a way out of this one... Jake thought as he watched Machop careening towards the ceiling. Time seemed to slow down and he panicked, unconsciously losing whatever subconscious restraint was on his aura. For just a second, a blue glow emanated from his eyes, unnoticed by him in his panic, and as quickly as the glow had appeared, it vanished, taking his panic with it. "Machop, face towards the ceiling and push off that light fixture with your legs!" Jake called out, hoping his plan would work. It half worked; instead of hitting the ceiling directly, the Fighting-type redirected his path so he skidded across the ceiling until his momentum was spent. He arced down towards the front wall of the gym, impacting and skidding down the wall until he shakily landed behind his trainer, wincing in pain with every movement. He fell to one knee, fighting to stay awake. "Are you alright?" Jake turned around and knelt, looking at Machop with worry in his eyes. "If you want, you can sit out. You have done all you can," he softly pointed out. Machop shook his head. He slowly, in pain all the way, struggled to his feet and limped back to the arena with fire in his eyes. "Are you sure about this?" Jake asked once more. He got no response except for Machop settling into a fighting stance once more. "Alright then. Sorry for the mini timeout Roark, but it looks like Machop isn't finished quite yet. Now Machop, settle yourself with a Focus Energy!" Once again, a blue glow slowly started to emanate from the Fighting-type. OOC: I am not 100% sure about how aura works, but I am pretty sure it is tied to emotions. So I figured that extreme panic would cause it to flare in some way. Maybe.
  15. IC: Jake Jake grinned, then called out to his Pokemon, "Let it happen Machop, but keep your arms free!" When he gave that order, Machop turned to look at him like he was crazy, but nevertheless didn't resist as he was constricted by the Onix. The second he was wrapped, Jake said, "Now, use Bullet Punch over and over!" Instantly, the Fighting-type realized what was going on, and drew back his fists, preparing to deliver his barrage of punches.
  16. IC: Jake "Well then, Machop, step out of the way and use Karate Chop!" When the Onix attempted to slam him, Machop jumped sideways out of the way, bringing a glowing hand around for a Karate Chop on the Rock-type.
  17. IC: Jake “Squirtle, great job! Now quick, before he hits use Withdraw!” Jake commanded. The Onyx’s Iron Tail slammed into Squirtle, who skidded back towards his trainer. “Return, Squirtle!” he said as he returned Squirtle to his Pokeball. “Great job.” He quickly swapped Squirtle’s ball for another on his belt. “Now, Machop, let’s get’em!” Jake called out enthusiastically. “Start with a Focus Energy!” Machop did as asked, and quickly became surrounded with a blue glow of energy.
  18. IC: Jake "Quickly Squirtle, use Withdraw!" Jake called to his Pokemon. Seconds before the Mega Punch hit, the Water-type was able to withdraw into its shell. Even with Withdraw, the Geodude managed to get a one in a million shot and punched straight through the head-hole of Squirtle's shell. "Squirtle, no!" Jake panicked as his Pokemon flew towards his side of the field. Before he hit the ground, Jake commanded, "Squirtle, use Rapid Spin to stabilize yourself, then slingshot around!" Luckily, his tactic worked, and Squirtle used the edge of his shell to turn his momentum back to the Geodude. "Alright, lets end this. Squirtle, propel yourself with Water Gun and use Aqua Tail like a battering ram!" Squirtle remembered his move from his last battle, and followed Jake's command, shooting water from his head-hole that was pointing away from Geodude to propel himself with Water Gun, and pointing his now water covered tail straight towards the Rock-type, almost looking like a rocket propelled Aqua Jet.
  19. IC: Jake "Keep using Water Gun, but when Geodude gets close hit him away with Aqua Tail!" Jake called out to his Pokemon. Although the water type continued his attack, Geodude was able to close on Squirtle. The second his opponent got too close, Squirtle stopped his barrage and jumped towards the Rock-type, tail coated in water as he swung it at Geodude in a powerful sideways arc.
  20. IC: Jake "Crud..." Jake muttered under his breath.Stealth rock would be annoying. Showing none of his concern, he said, "Keep your distance and use Water Gun over and over!" The Tiny Turtle Pokemon instantly began blasting water in short bursts in a random pattern towards the Geodude, powered up by the rain.
  21. IC: Jake "Alright then, Squirtle, come on out!" Jake sent out his Squirtle. "Squirtle, remember that this is a Gym battle, so we have to give it our all!" The water type gave his trainer a thumbs up in return before turning around to check out his opponent. "I guess I have the first move... so Squirtle, lets start out with Rain Dance!" Jake commanded. Squirtle began his dance, which consisted of waving his arms around, until a glowing blue sphere of energy launched into the sky, creating a rainstorm over the battlefield.
  22. IC: Jake "You bet I'm ready!" Jake replied, grabbing Squirtle's pokeball from his belt and enlarging it with the tap of a button, knowing that it was normally protocol for a ref to officially announce the battle, along with the Leader usually choosing their Pokemon first.
  23. IC: Jake "My name's Jake. I think your gym looks fine, the rubble kind of makes the field look more authentic." Jake noticed that at some point, Pikachu had returned to his ball. "I think we decided that I would go first, right?" he asked to make sure no one had any last minute changes of mind, while stepping up to the challengers box.
  24. IC: Jake Barely managing to hide his surprise (he flinched slightly), Jake turned around. "Err... what he said. We all would like to challenge the gym here, if it isn't too much trouble," Jake said, guessing that this was in fact Roark or at least someone who worked at the gym.
  25. IC: Jake "Why do I have to be Jake two?" He asked, grinning. "It doesn't matter anyway. I am so ready for this." Jake walked into the Gym, noticing the rocky battlefield. "Hello? Is anybody here?" Jake called, looking around for the Gym leader.
