  1. IC: Jake "I think you are going to have way too much fun with that phrase in the future," Jake remarked. "Does anyone mind if I go first?" He asked.
  2. IC: Jake "Awesome! I generally swim more than run, but reading is something I do a lot as well." He noticed the Center's doors opening and saw Jacob come out. "Nothing much. Should we head over to the Gym now? I'm getting really pumped!" Jake exclaimed in excitement.
  3. IC: Jake Jake chuckled as well. "Yeah... we should get him a reminder app for his dex. Or something." He paused for a moment. "So, aside from Pokemon training and stuff, what do you usually do for fun?" He asked Ruth. Immediately after his question, Pikachu popped out of his pokeball with a flash of light. After a moment of trying to smooth down his fur, he leaped onto Jake's backpack and perched there while looking over Jake's shoulder.
  4. IC: Jake "Hi Nurse Joy, I wanted to know if I could register for the Pokemon League?" Jake asked Nurse Joy with a smile as he walked up to the counter. "Of course, if I may just have your Pokedex or some other form of ID?" "Umm, yeah. Right here..." Jake handed the nurse his Pokedex, and as she entered it into the computer he suddenly remembered about Machop. "When you are done with that, could you please heal Machop for me?" He asked. "All done! Here's your Pokedex, and you can just put Machop's pokeball on a tray I will fix him up right away." "Thank you very much," Jake said, glad that he was finally registered for the Pokemon League and could officially start collecting badges. A few minutes later he collected Machop's pokeball and walked over to the entrance to wait for his friends.
  5. IC: Jake "Thanks Jacob! I agree, that was pretty close." He grinned. "And going to the Pokecenter is a good idea anyway. I just remembered, I still have to register for the Pokemon League!" Jake walked inside the Pokemon center, heading for the counter to heal his Machop and register for the League.
  6. IC: Jake Jake was slightly in shock; he had managed to beat a Pokemon that someone had trained with a recently caught Pokemon. Snapping out of his thoughts, he shook the offered hand. "Thanks! That was an awesome battle. Fuerte was really strong. But I can't believe Machop was able to pull off the Flying Press counter. That one looked really tricky!" He turned to Machop. "Great job, you were excellent. You should probably rest now." With that, Jake held out Machop's pokeball and the red beam of light enveloped Machop, returning him once more to his capsule. "So... the Ariel Ace and High Jump Kick combo... where did you come up with that?" Jake asked Ruth, genuinely interested. "I thought it was really strong, and also lucky that Machop was able to hold onto Fuerte's leg, otherwise that definitely would have gone a different direction for Machop and I."
  7. IC: Jake "Switch tactics, Machop! Grab its leg and use Seismic Toss!" Jake called, hoping that Machop would be able to time it correctly. Hopefully, the added momentum from high jump kick would be enough to knock out Fuerte.
  8. IC: Jake Machop didn't land gracefully at all. Instead of being slammed into the ground, he skidded on his back to the edge of the arena. He shakily got back to his feet, trying not to let on how much that fall had hurt him. Jake winced. It almost felt like he had felt the impact as well for some reason. What he hadn't noticed, however, was how his irises had flickered blue for half a second when he felt the sensation. Shrugging it off, Jake decided to continue the battle. "Machop, try for another Karate Chop!" Jake called. In response, the fighting type sprinted towards his opponent, not quite as quickly as before, as both of his hands became encased in a white glow.
  9. IC: Jake Jake's mind almost froze up as he saw his Pokemon's plight. Key word being almost. "Machop, use Bullet Punch!" Jake called out, his voice a touch panicky. Machop, though plummeting towards the ground and with one arm stuck in the Fuerte's grip, still managed to bring back one arm and started hammering it as quickly as he could, over and over, into his opponent's face. OOC: I am back!
  10. Just so you guys know, I will be gone for the next week.
  11. IC: Jake Seeing the imminent danger, and with Machop seemingly oblivious to the approaching danger, Jake took it upon himself to act. "Machop, now!" He commanded. Although he hadn't built up quite enough momentum, the fighting type crumpled backwards while swinging the Hawlucha over his head to slam it into the ground, earning a glancing hit to the side of his head due to his dodge.
  12. IC: Jake "I agree... It is interesting. We really have to compare notes about combination moves." Even as he said this, Jake's mind raced as he ran through ways to counter the attack. He sighed. There was only one, and Machop wouldn't like o it. "Machop, grab its leg!" Machop glanced back at his trainer, wondering if he had gone crazy, before turning back to the rapidly appraoching Hawlucha. He braced himself, then just before impact he grabbed for his opponent's leg. However, the force was too great for him to resist and a foot slammed into his chest, knocking him to the ground, but with one crucial factor. He had Hawlucha's leg in a vice grip. "Now, use seismic toss!" Jake called, making a slashing motion with his hand. Machop rose to his feet, simultaneously beginning the motion of spinning the fighting/flying type around in circles, preparing to slam it into the ground. As this happened, Jake eyed his Pokemon, knowing that the super effective attack probably took a lot out of him.
  13. IC: Jake "Perfect. Machop, wait until I give the word!" The fighting type nodded and glared at the Hawlucha that now was on a collision course with him. Wait... just a second longer... now! "Machop, half step left and use Low Sweep!" Literally a second before impact, Machop did exactly as his trainer said; he preformed a half step to the left. With no possible way to change direction quickly enough, the Hawlucha crashed one-legged into the ground directly where he had been standing, and before a reaction was possible Machop's leg flashed out with a glint of blue light and hooked his opponent's leg, sending him crashing to the ground. Jake called over to Ruth, "I knew you were going to pull that move at some point. I have studied signature moves like that one extensively. A bonus of using Low Sweep is that since it acts on the weight of the affected Pokemon, if it is performed quickly enough next to no momentum is lost, effectively adding to the weight." Thus finished with his explanation, he called to Machop, "Now, while he's down, Seismic Toss!" Machop quickly made to grab the fighting-type's leg to perform the move.
  14. IC: Jake "Alright then, use Focus Energy, and follow up with a Karate Chop!" Machop held still for a second, until a blue glow surrounded his body. Making use of his overly-large leg muscles, he sprang towards his opponent, one hand's fingers pressed together and emitting a white glow from his hand.
  15. IC: Jake Jake had healed his team as well. "I'm always ready," Jake said back. Without further ado, he sent out Machop, who looked around curiously before nodding to Fuerte and settled into a classic fighting stance. The fighting type grinned, then made a 'come at me' gesture with his right hand. "Alright Machop, I know this is our first battle, but let's do our best!" Jake called to his Pokemon.
  16. IC: Jake Jake chuckled. "I'm sure Machop is feeling just as pumped." He headed for the Pokemon Center as well to heal up his team.
  17. IC: Zaak With a final grunt, Zaak lugged the Skakdi around the final corner and dropped him on the ground, ignoring loud impact in favor of massaging his arms. After a few moments of recovery, and making sure he attached the handcuffs to a convenient light post, he approached the two convening law enforcement agents. "So... Something I miss?" He asked.
  18. IC: Jake "Yep, sounds great!" Jake said, nodding his head. "There should be a battlefield behind the Pokemon Center, so how about we head over there and heal up before the battle?"
  19. IC: Jake "Awesome! I hope Machop can stand up to you. He's strong, but I've never battled with him before, so we will see. It should be good training." Jake replied, before following Jacob to the Pokemart.
  20. IC: Jake Jake barely controlled his urge to facepalm at Jacob's exclamation. Instead, he asked Ruth, "So, after we get our Pokemon healed up, do you want to have a quick battle? I know you said that Fuerte probably wants to battle Machop, and it would be a good warmup for the Gym."
  21. IC: Jake "Coming!" Jake said as he jogged to catch up to the two trainers. He remembered Oreburgh; the Pokemon Center was supposed to be right next to the Mart, so he could pop in there while Jacob shopped. "So... Were you guys going to challenge the gym again? I kinda forgot.." Jake asked, rubbing the back of his head in slight embarrassment.
  22. IC: Jake When everyone had finished eating and packing up the campsite, the group set off through the cave known as Oreburgh Gate. There was a strange lack of Pokemon throughout, so the only distractions came from Pikachu's and the other Pokemon's attempts at stealing Jake's hat, of which most attempts failed. Finally, the group emerged from the dark cave, and gazed upon Oreburgh City. "Yes! We finally made it!" Jake exclaimed as they exited the cave. Pikachu had gotten tired earlier on, so he was resting in his Pokeball.
  23. IC: Zaak Zaak parried yet another blow from the decoy (a staff was no good against knives) when a random disk came flying out of nowhere. Noticing that it was slightly off course, Zaak ducked under a knife slash and swept the Skakdi's leg, forcing him to stumble backwards... Right into the path of the disk. It struck the Skakdi in the back of the head, knocking him over. Zaak took his opportunity and hit the side of the fallen fighter's head with the side of a blade, knocking him out cold. Zaak cuffed him then actvated his comms. "In case you didn't get my last message, I have apprehended the decoy and am now back on my way towards the alehouse. Again if you didn't get my last message, he is a legitimate decoy, I confirmed it with my mask." Zaak hoisted his prisoner over his shoulder and started as quickly as he could back towards the alehouse.
  24. OOC: In the future if I make a mistake like this can someone point it out before it us posted onif it was a confusig topic? IC: Zaak Zaak's foot bumbed the fallen Cordak Blaster, and it produced a hollow ring. Wait... Hollow? Zaak glanced at it quickly, the motion making his head swim from the Skakdi's vision attack, and noticed that it was dented way too much for it to have been a real blaster of Nynrah design. He moved his head back to the approaching Skakdi and focused on it neck, before noticing that where its armor had hit the ground, it was no longer blue green but dark blue. Zaak's eyes widened. This was a... "You really are an idiot to have fallen for that. I mean, I expected to maybe give you people pause, but for one to chase me is just rich." He grinned wider. "I was a decoy, you dolt! And you completely fell for it. Have fun dying." Zaak was equal parts relieved and angry; relief for not tackling a random civie, and angry that he fell for such an obvious trick. He activated his comms. "Guys, this guy was a legitimate decoy!" The decoy lunged with both knives, attempting to stab Zaak before he could finish his message, but was pushed back by a spin of Zaak's staff towards his neck, which forced the decoy to roll backwards to avoid decapitation. "Get that Vortixx! He may be a leader if he has a decoy! I've got this guy, get the other one!" Zaak finished and watched the Skakdi, avoiding his gaze and trying to anticipate his opponent's moves. OOC: I think I managed to make that work out nicely. Forgive any spelling errors or typos, this was from my phone.
  25. Waitwaitwaitwait... I thought it was a Skakdi that ran! Is it bad etiquette to request an edit, because I seriously thought that it said Skakdi in the post...
