  1. Re: Number of Toa that can be created at once and how this is possible I think the main thing that needs to be looked at is Destiny. It's kind of a fleeting and abstract concept, but the only clear-cut explanation we have for, for instance, Matoran who can transform into Toa is "the Matoran who are destined." The only example (as far as I know) of a Toa "Ancestor" is Lhikan -- he distributed his energy to six Matoran and transformed them into Toa of equal power, not 1/6 his power. Like bones explained, it's not too implausible to jump to the conclusion that this is just how it works: one sixth of the 100% energy gets restored to the full 100% post-transformation. But that brings up the difficult questions of "why can't a Toa just make a metric ton of Toa stones and make a Toa army?" or "could Lhikan have made 1 Toa, or 3 Toa instead of 6?" I feel like the answer to these questions and all the questions posed in the thread is pretty easy. The answer would be Destiny. You can crunch numbers all day trying to figure out how much energy is in a destined Matoran or a Toa or a Turaga, but I feel like Toa energy is something inherently present in a Toa's body, and in trace amounts in those of Matoran and Turaga. If you're destined to pass on your role to 6 new Toa, 6 Toa come into being, all with 100% Toa energy. A Toa, in a sense, could be seen as a sort of energy generator. Does this make sense at all or am I talking nonsense?
  2. That's true. I feel like the rebuilding thing is one of the many continuity gaps left up to the realm of headcanon - it was inserted into the story to explain differences in set design, and Matoran hardly have any concrete form of canonical anatomy. I guess the easiest way to describe it would be that Matoran don't feel pain when they're taken apart, even if biological tissue must be removed/damaged/reconstituted. Whether or not their bodies can naturally come apart is the part left up to interpretation.
  3. All of the adventure games were pretty good. MNOG 1, MNOG 2, and VNOG were all actually entertaining to me. I didn't think any of the other games were very good at all - of course this is a matter of opinion but all the console games seemed pretty low quality. That one computer game from 2001 looked promising but sadly it was never released in full.
  4. Skimming the thread, I see that bones pointed out the presence of stylized masks, but I don't think anyone's brought up how frequently they probably appeared. In set form there was only a small handful, but I remember vividly that in Bionicle Adventures #1 the narrator points out that Nuhrii had a "signature style" or something to that effect--ridges around the eyeholes or something like that. So even if masks were largely identical (that is, more identical to each other than humans' faces are) there would certainly be minor differences like these, not to mention physique differences, scars, and possibly voices.
  5. Sorry if this isn't the place for discussion but I couldn't find a discussions topic. Anyway this is relevant to character "registration" sooo... How soon is the RPG ending? I am pretty interested in this one specifically but I'm not sure how the BZP RPG cycles go. I see discussion of whether or not it will be renewed but regardless I don't want to start if the story is already being wrapped up.Are Matoran/Toa/Turaga bound to specific genders? For instance, if I wanted to RP a female Fe-Matoran or male Toa of Lightning would that be against the rules? Thanks!
  6. Some of these are definitely inaccuraccies but yeah like a lot of users are saying, the likelihood of the Shattering exploding into three perfect spheres is very low: that probably happened over time as a result of gravity. I remember there being a lot of pretty egregious errors in coloring between 2003-2005 though. Nothing you could really consider a continuity error, but lots of characters in the wrong color, colors spilling out into the wrong section of armor, etc. Does anyone remember this at all or am I just inflating these occurrances in my head?
  7. I only own a handful of sets but Savage Planet had a lot of good designs. Bulk 3.0 and Raw-Jaw are pretty rad.
  8. I'm not going to make up a list but I'd have to say that if I did have a list Takua/Takanuva would be toward the top. I feel like he is, objectively, the most well-developed character in the entire Bionicle mythos, because of how many arcs he appears in as a main character and also the trials he faces. Like him or dislike him, he's been one of the main "faces" of Bionicle since day one. Going along with that logic there are characters like Ehlek, Karzahni, Lariska, and Vakama who go through complete character arcs but because of the ridiculous mass of characters I wouldn't be able to narrow it down to 10. Also 6 of the spaces would be taken up by the Voya Nui Resistance Team because c'mon. They're awesome.
  9. I don't think that's too inconceivable. Matoran are bio-mechanical. This doesn't necessarily mean all the parts that make up their body are permanantly connected. Think of it this way: their bodies could easily be made up of separate pieces of living tissue (unlike the Glatorian race, who are more like cyborgs than anything else) which can be disassembled but when put back together works in command of the brain. This could also explain how the Toa Mata were reassembled after decaying in canisters for centuries.
