IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside Kathok wheels around, wild eyed. He blinks at Taurek's retreating form. He strides after him with a shaking, vicious stride. He passes Drukann, who receives nothing but a hollow "[Run] off, you [slightly unpleasant] [person]!". "Hey, hey!" Kathok's voice is one part savage growl, one part venomous hiss, and one part hysterical shriek. "You may have given that fight up half way through, I can tell you weren't really trying to begin with, but surely even you can see this opportunity! Can't you? Can't you?! Has the thought not penetrated your brain yet?!" Kathok draws alongside Taurek. He composes himself for a moment. "There must be other ways. Look, that skirmish was fun and all, but we could be talking about a real reward here." Kathok resolves to ignore the reality of the situation for a few minutes more.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside It takes Kathok a few moments to realise that nothing has happened. He growls under his breath. He gingerly appears in the doorway again. Yep, she hasn't noticed. Karz. Kathok shouts again from out of sight. This time, her name is hurled at her at least five times, each one more bitter and forceful than the last. Even a dunce like Silvana will be able to work out where the voice is coming from, Kathok scowls.
  3. OOC: mobile post IC: Votadox (Psyker) - Barracks I haven't done a proper smile in quite some time now, so I decide to. I might get out of practise otherwise. Presently, I say "What brings you to the Dark Hunters anyway?"

OOC: mobile post IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside Kathok motions for Taurek to move into position on the other side of the door, then in one fell swoop he draws breath into himself and releases it in a deafening blast which manifests as Silvana's name. Once all three syllables have exited his mouth, Kathok darts back out of sight. Taurek's idiotic call inside the bar may not have worked, but Silvana's actual name is sure to draw her attention - especially with Kathok's impressive set of lungs.

OOC: Ignore previous few posts IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside "Right, follow me and try not to look obvious. Though I'd bet that's a little difficult for you." At this stage Kathok would give a hearty laugh, but he doesn't want to draw attention to himself and is also too irritated to do anything other than scowl. Nevertheless, he edges over, and in an instant he's past Silvana. The moment passes quickly and quietly: getting it over with is best - Kathok's often found that 'planning' gets in the way. But don't get him wrong. Through all his extravagant recklessness he does know how to go unnoticed. That doesn't mean he has to enjoy it. He's out of the door, waiting. Once Taurek's arrived he'll call Silvana's name.
  7. OOC: mobile post IC: Votadox (Psyker) - Barracks I frown. Of course some people have seeing or vision problems. Or an impaired intelligence. But this seems plain. "You." I reply simply. "I like your colour scheme."

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside Outside the door lies a grotty alleyway, walls dust grey, washed out with muddy water and scrawled with graffiti. It's also empty, apart from the two mercenaries who've just appeared between its high walls. Kathok scuttles along it until he's near the main entrance, where Silvana is sitting. "I'll shout, we grab her as soon as she appears. If you have any blunt weapons smash her round the head. No, wait, I will. OK." The pair are mostly hidden from view, but are in the perfect position to leap at Silvana once she arrives. Kathok places himself on one side, leaving Taurek on the other. He doesn't like all this sneaking around: he'd rather jump in, weapons slashing and blazing. But unfortunately that isn't an option. Kathok makes a mental note to himself to talk to whoever runs Cliffside about Capstone's golden rule after this is over. Who is that these days, anyway? It doesn't matter because Kathok then shouts "Hey, SILVANA!" almost as loud as he can into the bar, staying out of sight.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside Kathok's angular eyes narrow. "Follow me, and try to keep up." He strides towards and then out of a nearby doorway, his movement punctuated by a rhythm of regular subtle glances in Silvana's direction.
  10. IC: Votadox (Psyker) - to Barracks Usually lying in sand and my own blood doesn't interest me. But today it's bearable. Why? Well, I don't want to get soppy; that really wouldn't do. But I think I may have just been complemented, so there's some hope in the world. Now, it takes a good deal of seconds for me to stand back up. When I do, I creak. 'Aching' doesn't fully describe the discomfort I'm feeling. I limp towards the main gate, hearing the words said by my recent opponent. You know, I actually feel quite pleased. In a genuine, un-ironic way. That's surprising. Since limping appears to be so enriching, I decide to carry on. Some time passes, and then Barracks are dragged towards me. I open the door. It creaks in unison with my frame. Beings are scattered inside, opening and closing their mouths, speaking and so on. I'm still 'aching', but going to the healer would require effort. So instead I lower myself onto a bed. I don't know whose bed it's supposed to be. Mine now. There's a Ga-Skakdi next to me. Slightly mundane - where are all the grotesque mutants? I keep my eyes fixed on her. Good colour scheme. OOC: That's Sting, Click.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside "What the #### are you doing, moron?!" Kathok hisses bluntly, grabbing at Taurek's neck. "Pull a stunt like that again and you'll get us both killed!" Maybe working with this half-wit isn't such a good idea. It's usually Kathok who is incautious and reckless, but he can't risk losing hold of this situation. It's all that matters. So he contains himself, and speaks in relatively measured terms: "I know her name. We go outside, call it. We'll eave by the other door. Understand?" The last word is spat rather than spoken.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside "Ok," Kathok continues as soon as the stranger has disappeared, "We can talk about what happened earlier later, let's focus on the deal at hand." He glances round the wall at Silvana and then darts back. His voice seems to be whispering but manages to sound hearty and angry at the same time: "I don't mind telling you that I've had a #### day. After you had your little accident, someone else joined in, gunned me down and then...well, I managed to intimidate them into giving me a lift here, since a they got my ship." A sniff for dramatic effect. "Anyway, I feel like I've waited to catch this rat long enough. But now I'm done waiting: we need to lure her out." Kathok raises an eyebrow to prompt his recent compatriot.
  13. Is it just that dark-evil-death-force you mentioned somewhere?

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside "I'm sorry, who is this?" Kathok hisses to the being so recently his enemy. His eyes dart around the wall to Silvana: she hasn't noticed yet, but it's only a matter of time if these buffoons keep the chatter up.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside Then Kathok remembers. His eyes widen. He makes a cutting movement at his neck with his hand: abort immediately. Then he creeps backwards, beckoning for Taurek to meet him behind the wall.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside Wonderful. It looks like this brute is ready and willing to execute Kathok's objective. Kathok's a little resentful that he's being signaled, but it can wait. He's on the metaphorical edge of his seat, but he's standing, edging forwards, Rhotuka primed, weapons within reach. Kathok decides that when this works out, today will have officially been a Good Day. All those setbacks will be forgotten. He waits for Taurek's signal.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside A hasty glance around, then an unenthusiastic beckoning. The motion, while delivered in a crudely Skakdi way, is almost embarrassed. All of this, of course, is accompanied by a boiling red glare.

IC: Kathok - Capsttone, Cliffside It's at that moment that Kathok sees Taurek. Right, that's it! Shaking and seething, Kathok edges around the conveniently placed internal wall, appearing at the other end. Now he's visible to Taurek, but not to Silvana. Kathok isn't sure what he's doing, but he's done waiting. Maybe he can get the cretin to work with him, maybe he'll have to get him out of the way. Either way, he stares at him. He can't risk coming into Silvana's line of sight if he wants to keep the element of surprise, so he just stares at Taurek. Hopefully he'll notice. Kathok is so close now, so close to catching his prey. He feels invigorated: luck is clearly on his side. But it might not be for long. It would only take one mistake for this whole situation to be irreversibly ruined. If that happens, Kathok may have to kill someone.

IC: Kathok - Capstone Kathok's eyes sweep the room fitfully, passing the-- There she is! It takes all the strength Kathok has to stop himself leaping over. Besides the golden rule of Capstone, she's just sat down with two other beings. Standing in the shadows still, Kathok curses incessantly under his breath. What can he do? 'Wait', is the answer. But every cell in his body is itching to race over, weapon drawn, get his enemy at knife-point. Even Kathok can see that that would be a bad idea. He lowers himself back into his chair. He consoles himself with the thought that at least he's getting some time to recuperate from the fight. Bu it isn't much consolation.

IC: Kathok - Capstone, Cliffside Kathok, too, is beginning to feel the effects of the fight with Drukann. Although he's used an ingenious combination of rag and noxious alcohol to bandage his more important wounds, fatigue is running high. But he can't let his guard down. His quarry could be here at any second: it's only logical she'd come to Cliffside. Kathok remembers with a grimace that his ship is gone. Cliffside truly isn't the greatest place to be stuck, but maybe his confrontation with this 'Silvana' will buy him transport too. If luck is on his side. Kathok keeps glancing around, gleaming eyes darting from place to place. He gets up abruptly, sidling over to one of the bustling room's more prominent shadows. He needs to see her before she sees him. If Kathok was more self-reflective, he might notice how unreasonably on edge he is. As it is, he just waits.

IC: Kathok - Cliffside Kathok ignores his feelings and thoughts for the moment. In fact he's angry at their very existence. So he decides to head to Capstone to drown his, ahem, non-existent sorrows. After a few minutes he's heavily sitting down on a stool at the bar, spitting an instruction at the barman for something toxic. He's as conspicuous as a haystack in a needle. And he looks anything but pleased. OOC: Kathok is open for interaction with any characters in Capstone, Cliffside.
