  1. Another question: If one were to write up an Epic as their entry instead of a Short Story, how would that be judged exactly?

Would all of the chapters have to be posted and completed for it to be eligible, provided it could be done within the deadline given (extended or otherwise), or would the completion of only a chapter or two still count for the contest?

  2. Well, "better" would be in the eye of the beholder, but as much as I love G1, it was far from flawless. Most of what I was planning on fixing up were things such as gender imbalances, a better intro for the former inhabitants of Spherus Magna, making the Rahaga cooler, and possibly subverting some of the other tropes people have come to expect from the series as well.

I did kind of want to challenge myself with it a little, though, but hey, no big deal. I'll just go off and do something easier for the contest, such as the complete systematic reconstruction of Hero Factory, for example. It shouldn't be too hard to find a way to encourage creativity in children without resorting to the usage of pointless cliffhangers...

  3. Question: If one was to enter an RPG into the contest, how influential would the changes have to be to the plot itself?

I've been working on one for quite a while already over in the BRPG Forum that takes place in an entirely new setting, yet the background information concerning the universe in which events happen places the story in a heavily modified version of G1 Canon (with the potential for a few other surprises along the way), and I'm wondering whether or not this would be acceptable for the contest, or if I should just come up with another entry entirely.

Working on it has been rather touch and go lately, however, so I think I'd be fine with either decision.
