  1. Nope. Just checked in LDD, the holes are just a little too small to fit a rod.
  2. Agreed. The Movie version of Toa Lhikan's Hau looks more like a regular Tahu-style Hau to me, and his movie Noble Hau looks like both of his set's Haus. So in my headcanon, Lhikan wears a standard Great Hau as a Toa, and the "Lhikan" Hau as a Turaga.
  3. The only cracked Bionicle parts I have aren't from Bionicle sets. They're the Glatorian heads being used in 2012 HF sets. Anyway, my only advice is to be very careful when taking the heads off the torsos, or else you might crack them. And if you're not careful, those cracks can lead to snaps and the head may become useless.
  4. Does this look familiar: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Mata_Nui_Online_Game_Walkthrough That's what I suspected, but it is good to have confirmation and all of that. Yeah, that's the walkthrough, but they've omitted the trivia section. A quick search of the Biomedia project also didn't turn up anything. But you're welcome anyway, haha. I went on wayback machine and downloaded the 2006 downloadable version of the game from the old website. It came with the trivia! I downloaded my copy in 2006, burned it to disk, and then copied it to this machine. Looking through those files and that game, there is no trivia that you mentioned and no PDF files to speak of. Was it a separate download? Found the place on web.archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20060701160328/http://www.lego.com/eng/bionicle/games/matanuiOnline1.aspx So the walkthrough was a separate download from the game.

Notes To quit the game while playing in “Full Screen” mode, use the <Ctrl>-<Q> key combination. You can play the game in “Full Screen” mode but at the original resolution by selecting “Full Screen”, right-clicking your mouse (or the equivalent) to obtain the Flash menu, and then selecting “100%” instead of “Show All”.Under certain conditions, the audio may drop out. The background sounds and music are an important part of the game’s ambience, so don’t play without them. Restarting the game usually returns the audio. You won’t see the “Prophecy” animation unless you visit the Mata Nui and Makuta stones next to the telescope or view it on “The Book of Chronicles”. Similarly, you won’t see the “Tahu.01” animation anywhere except “The Book of Chronicles”.The Lightstone was originally found in Turaga Nokama’s hut. It is now automatically placed into your backpack at the start of the game.Toa Gali and all of the residents of Ga-Koro are female. All of the other Toa and residents of Mata Nui are male. Some of the creatures on the island, such as Puku the Ussal Crab, may be female.Kapura does some interesting things if you watch him pace in the charred forest long enough. The market in Onu-Koro is one of the few places where you will see Matoran from more than one village gathered together. The elevator in the Great Mine can sometimes get confused as to whether it is supposed to be going up or down. You might have to ride it twice to get where you want to go.The Gold Mask underneath the sundial was part of a BIONICLE® contest run in 2001. The word floating above it is “RAHI”. Contestants were to find words, written in the Matoran script, online or in print, under gold masks such as this one, decode them, write down the words on an official entry form, and then mail the form in for a chance at a 14-karat solid gold mask. There is a rock in Le-Wahi, off to the right as you head from Le-Koro to the tunnel entrance, with Matoran script upon it that reads: “Wake one and you wake them all.”By playing the flute song to call the Kahu, you can go directly to any of the villages, with the exception of Ko-Koro whenever it is snowing too hard (which is any time before your first visit). Navigation is by way of a map of the island of Mata Nui. Just point and click where you want to go.There is a rock carving out in the blizzard inscribed with the text: “Beware the Swarm”. You have to brush away some of the snow to read all of the text. The walls of the Sanctum include packaging information from a LEGO® set and a quote from Douglas Adams’s Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy trilogy: “What do you get if you multiply six by nine?”There is graffiti on the tunnel on the way from Ko-Koro back to Ta-Koro. The graffiti identifies the “elements” associated with each village: Fire, Water, Ice, Rock, Earth, and Air.Taipu is such a hard worker you can still hear his pickaxe even after he has joined your Company. Hafu is a hard worker too, as he can be heard and will appear to be working on the waysigns even after he has joined.Makuta’s speech was particularly significant coming after the events of September 11, 2001. Templar Studios, who created the game for The LEGO Group, is located in lower Manhattan. Many of the employees were at the studio or on their way there when the tragedy, visible from their rooftop, occurred.Vakama’s speech at the end of the game references Takua finding Vakama’s mask and Firestaff. Takua is also the main character in the first BIONICLE game for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, released in October of 2001. It is during that game that Takua finds Vakama’s mask and Firestaff and performs tasks for all of the Turaga. That game ends precisely where the Mata Nui Online game begins.HistoryThe Mata Nui Online Game was, in many ways, unlike anything that had come before it. Launched in December of 2000, the game unfolded in “episodes” that were revealed over the course of the following year at much-anticipated, semi-regular intervals. This was accomplished through devices that kept the player from reaching locked areas: having lava too hot to cross, closing the marina, a snow-storm in Ko-Koro, etc.The telescope “predicted” when the next episode would become available. You would read the date at the bottom of the panel and then wait for the date on the telescope to match it. When it did, the stars in the telescope would resemble those on the panel. When the game was played in this manner, the story was fairly linear. I have tried to recreate that linear story here in this narrative walkthrough. But for players who discovered the game after several of the episodes had already been published, and also for those who play it now, the game was and is much more open to multiple paths at the beginning. The characters known as “Matoran” were originally called “Tohunga”. This word, like many of the terms used in BIONICLE in 2001, was taken from the Maori language. Many Maori objected to this practice, and especially the use of the word tohunga (a spiritual adviser and healer). The LEGO Group decided not to use Maori words in future releases and renamed the inhabitants of Mata Nui as “Matoran”. Jala, Maku, and Puku were also eventually renamed Jaller, Macku, and Pewku, respectively.Huh. I wonder if it is possible to get earlier versions of the game with the old limitations like the lava flow... do those exist anywhere?
  6. CCBS would have been introuduced from the start with the cool shell add-ons from 2012 & onward, and the bones would come in more colors than just black and grey. 2012's cliffhanger would have been resolved in 2013 or at least tied in. Evo would have had stayed like his 2011 personality. Invasion From Below would have had voice actors closer to the originals and kept some style consistency. (As interesting as the taking helmets off was, it seemed inconsistent with how the hero's heads had appeared throughout the entire series. Even after 2.0 the movie look of the heroes was consistent with earlier vesions.) Change the IFB ending. Breez should have succeeded in negotiating with the Queen Beast, and the heroes wouldn't have been so ignorant of Breez's warnings. The website should have had a better 2013 design. That timeline was just messy in my opinion. And the removal of a lot of the older content as time went on was annoying. The 2014 video archive section only has a fraction of the content of previous years. They should have never used the Glatorian heads in Breakout, or they should have at least changed the design to reflect the CCBS and not crack and break. The 2011 heads should have been backwards compatible with axle helmets. Actually, the whole pin-helmet thing should have been redesigned to be more backwards compatible. The theme would have ended with a big story twist that tied together 2012, 2013, & 2014 (if their plots hadn't already been fully resolved.) and ended with an epic battle between the heroes and Von Nebula or something.
  7. I enjoyed Hero Factory. It was the first Constraction theme I got interested in, because when I first found out about Bionicle in 2010-11, I thought it was so strange and weird and I didn't understand what was going on. Hero Factory seemed so much more inviting and cool. I enjoyed all the sets I got, and I'm sad it has to go. I would prefer for Bionicle & Hero Factory to somehow alternate waves of sets so they could co-exist, but now that the Facebook page has been deleted, it looks like HF is confirmed to be over. I'm not too upset about it, but I still wish Lego could have found a way to keep both running at the same time.
  8. I think it looks good... and it's only one hand... *slaps a hand on his arm* There. Fixed.
  9. Greg Farshtey: Toa of Canon! Armed with a shoulder-mounted Canon Cannon and Retcon-Weapon! Now that Bionicle's coming back, and it's very possibly a reboot, he apparently now has full power to make anything canon in the old universe.
  10. (Is that a filtered word or just a placeholder? If its filtered, please try to avoid using bad words next time.) That is Turaga Dume's predecessor, Turaga Nomask I have no idea.
  11. I just talked to Greg Farshtey on the LMBs inquiring about this promotional set: For a long time this 2006 promotional set has been thought to be Turaga Lhikan, though it was never made canon. Until now. Take a look what Greg Farshtey replied with: Source: community.lego.com/t5/LEGO-General/Chat-with-Greg-Farshtey/m-p/11233939#M252886 I have just caused Gold Good Guy to become the official canon set version of Turaga Lhikan! YAY!!! So, does this make any difference to you, or am I just excited over nothing?
  12. It's starting this Winter 2014/2015. The official date of release is January 2015, but I can assure you that the sets will start popping up in stores before December is over.
  13. Apparently, after Matoro changed the Mahri to amphibious Toa, they CAN wear normal masks, but only when on land... Source: https://community.lego.com/t5/LEGO-General/Chat-with-Greg-Farshtey/m-p/11223851#M252704
  14. Actually, according to what I've read: Akaku (Mask of X-Ray Vision): Regeneration + Teleport Miru (Mask of Levitation): Teleport + Weaken Source is Biosector01. Maybe you misread or your source of this info made a mistake? I don't think there any masks that use the same Kanoka combination.
  15. Great job! These all look quite a bit like their 2001 & 2003 versions. However, I think their torsos are just a little too thin and need to be less narrow. Other than that, these are great remakes of the classic Matoran!
  16. I wish we could have gotten XL forms of every hero, but oh well. That's what MOCs (and a Mask of Creation ) are for. I think I'll rate the sets and story from 1 to 10 to show my opinion on HF's heights: SETS 2010: 7 (Hero sets were a bit too boring and unflexible, but larger sets were nice) 2011 Ordeal of Fire: 8 (because of CCBS introduction) 2011 Savage Planet: 7 (hero sets were a bit too similar to last year, but all those creature builds were cool.) 2012: 9 (sets were a definite improvement from 2011) 2013: 9 (the brains, new head, & futuristic knight style were all great) 2014: 10 (Mechs made out of CCBS, Hero minifigs, and giant beasts with all sorts of cool parts!) STORY 2010: 7 (Generic, simple story, but was good for an introduction.) 2011 Ordeal of Fire: 6 (A bit too simple, but still good) 2011 Savage Planet: 6 (Same.) 2012: 9 (The interesting plot with Black Phantom, Rocka, & the Von Nebula hand was great. And the graphic novels added to this.) 2013: 8 (The brains were interesting, as was the unfortunately never explained Dark Maker. The Surge & Breez sub-plot was good, too.) 2014: 7 (The story lost all the depth it gained with Breakout. This is not necessarily Lego's fault, though. It was probably due to the new animation studio, and the switch caused all character development to be lost. So overall, 2012 & 2013 were Hero Factory's heights. the last three years has the best sets, and 2012 had the best story.
  17. Interestingly enough, Bionicle is, in fact, an older Lego theme being brought back, and when it ended 4 or so years ago, a lot of its fans wanted to stop buying Legos and throw away their sets, as well as make dozens of petitions and bash Lego to try and force them to bring it back. That accomplished nothing. Bionicle was a well-known and highly popular Lego action figure theme in its day (it helped save Lego from bankruptcy) with its own awesome story that lasted from 2001-2010, and is Hero Factory's predecessor. Hero Factory was created because Bionicle ended, and I guess Lego decided to increase their sales by changing their main action figure theme to something new and fresh. (New & fresh to the current generation of young Lego fans.) Don't look hard on Bionicle because it is replacing Hero Factory. Bionicle fans looked hard on Hero Factory when it replaced Bionicle, yet it became a great theme as well. Not as successful as Bionicle, but still a great theme. It also introduced the modern action figure building system: the Character / Creature Building System, or CCBS. Both themes are great, but you can't have both at the same time, and Bionicle fans have been wanting this to happen for 5 years. So don't throw away your sets yet (actually, don't throw them away at all) and give Bionicle a chance. Don't throw away your toys because a toy company isn't doing what you want them to. Lego can't please you and everyone else at the same time. If you try to please everyone, you please no one. Lego isn't a company that just does whatever their fans want. (If they did, they'd be bankrupt.) They do what is best for sales, and so far, that's working out very well, seeing as that they just became the largest toy manufacturer in the world. So yeah. Don't throw away your awesome sets and give Bionicle a chance.
  18. I think the Kaita were interesting illustrations of unity, and having the characters combine like that works really well because it's a Lego story. I really hope there are Kaita-style combiner models in 2015. A CCBS Kaita of any sort would be interesting...
  19. If everything Greg does with BIONICLE is official, and that is his excuse for not writing the serials as fan fiction, then why isn't everything done with BIONICLE by Christian Faber canon? Quoting Greg Farshtey: Faber works for ADVANCE, so I guess they have different rules/standards there?
  20. I'm hoping that maybe the return of Bionicle will eventually bring about newly colored limb parts... perhaps in 2016? They would be useful for building less armored-up characters. The currently available colors, according to Bricklink, are as follows. (And no these names aren't official, they're just most descriptive I could think of.) TORSOS Extra Small Torso: Black Small Torso (Secondary Standard, less wide than Medium): Black Medium Torso (Standard): Black, Dark Bluish Gray, Red Large Torso (XL Standard): Black, Orange UPPER LIMBS Upper Arm/Leg w Ball Joint & Socket (5 studs long): Black, Dark Bluish Gray, Light Bluish Grey, Lime, Red Upper Arm/Leg w Joint & Socket & Pin Hole (6 studs): Black, Dark Bluish Gray, Dark Red, Red Upper Arm/Leg w Joint & Socket & 2 Pin Holes (7 studs): Light Bluish Grey Upper Arm/Leg w Joint & Socket & 4 Pin Holes (9 studs): Black, Dark Red, Orange LOWER LIMBS Lower Arm/Leg w Joint & Socket (3 studs): Black, Red, Reddish Brown, Trans-Light Blue, Trans-Neon Orange Lower Arm/Leg w Joint on Axle & Socket (4 studs): Black, Dark Bluish Gray. Lime, Yellow, Trans-Light Blue Lower Arm/Leg w Joint on Axle & Socket (5 studs): Black, Dark Bluish Gray, Medium Azure, Olive Green, Trans-Light Blue, Trans-Neon Orange Lower Arm/Leg w Joint on Axle & Socket & Pin Hole (6 studs): Black, Dark Bluish Gray, Light Bluish Gray, Red, White Lower Arm/Leg w Joint on Axle & Socket & 2 Pin Holes (7 studs): Black, Bright Light Orange, Trans-Light Blue Lower Arm/Leg w Joint on Axle & Socket & 4 Pin Holes (9 studs): Black, Red SOCKETS ON BOTH ENDS Short Limb w 2 Sockets (3 studs): Dark Bluish Gray Limb w 2 Sockets (5 studs): Black, Red MISCELLANEOUS Limb Extender w Ball Joint & Socket (2 studs): Dark Bluish Gray CCBS Classic Bionicle "Hand" (think Toa Nuva) (3 studs): Black, Dark Bluish Gray, Medium Azure, Red, Reddish Brown, Trans-Neon Orange HF Hand: Black, Blue, Lime, Olive Green, Orange, Red, White, Yellow, Trans-Light Blue, Trans-Neon Orange, Flat Silver HF Foot: Black, Blue, Bright Green, Lime, Orange, Red, White, Yellow, Flat Silver, Pearl Dark Gray, Pearl Gold Currently, most limb parts come only in black, gray, and a few random colors like olive green or Azure. With all that red & orange, though, it's not too hard to make a Tahu.
  21. Well, guess this isn't anything significant to the story. Faber commented on the picture and said this: "Dear all blog readers. I just want to point out that I NEVER post any official or current or coming story or material on this site. This is to be considered as a piece of fan fiction. NOT OFFICIAL, NOT CANON, just a comment to the great news of Bionicle returning seen from a 2001 point of view. Turaga beach is a metaphor for the place where all the old fans see the news. They have great knowledge but can't predict the future. It is a great and thrilling view!" Still, it's a really nice picture.
  22. Auctioning off Lewa Mata, Pohatu Mata, and a bunch of other complete 01-03 sets if anyone's interested... www.ebay.com/sch/xearasales/m.html
  23. Well... hopefully this means we can expect a storyline that features a huge plot twist that will be revealed years from now like the giant robot twist. Not sure what surprise can be bigger than that, though.
  24. Hello, I'm SuperGeniusCreator. Check this out: Compare this mask to this minifigure from the Hobbit 79015 Witch-king Battle set: Looks like this guy is wearing kini-nui on his head, too! I wonder how many other minifigs have spikes like that on their heads... Darth Maul, perhaps?
