  1. Given the nature of a Nova Blast, it probably sends out a rapidly expanding magnetic field. I think it's safe to assume it just causes ferromagnetic materials to spiral like crazy around the source of the blast. Not because that's logical, but because it sounds just so darn cool. Logically speaking, however, I think it would probably cause all ferromagnetic materials be repelled from the source of the blast.
  2. Direct control over the field no, but there's another physics detail relevant here -- can they quickly shut down the field if it becomes a danger to them? I'd say (if Vo-Toa are even allowed to do this) that if they are making a magnetic field directly by just creating spiraling lightning in the air in front of them, the moment they switch off the electricity, the field should disappear pretty much instantly. However, if they're doing this in metal, even if it's not the kind of metal that gets permanently magnetized, magnetic fields have a strong tendency to resist decay. That's why real electromagnets tend to remain magnetic for a few seconds, fading out. So, if they were approaching instant death as a result of their field in metal, I'd say that in general they would still likely die. (For example, if the field suddenly pulled them toward the metal and they were moving at a speed that would make impact deadly.) That is correct. But again, you're forgetting that, according to BS01, Therefore, in addition to being able to create an electrical current, a Vo-Toa could probably almost instantly absorb the electric current she had created, so if she could create a spiraling electric current in a chunk of metal, then she could just as easily absorb the same current. So I really don't think that would be an issue. Interesting point though.
  3. The color scheme really stands out to me. I think it's very nicely done indeed. I know people tend to complain about black and gray parts, but I don't see what the big deal is. I think it's perfectly balanced in terms of color. I do, however, think the legs are a to short and thin. I think they need to be either longer, or thicker. If you were going for short legs, then I'd say at least make them thicker. If you weren't, then I'd do both. Nicely done though. I'm also a bit skeptical about the foot piece for a head. It certainly is creative, but it doesn't look too appealing to me. But I don't think the judges would discredit it, though.
  4. That's another disadvantage for a Vo-Toa, as well as an interesting observation on your part. A Toa of magnetism could easily control the magnetic field so that it would only be attracted to whatever he needs it to be attracted to, whereas a Vo-Toa would have a really hard time controlling the magnetic field created by the magnet, if she could control it at all. I suppose that's the determining factor: whether or not a Vo-Toa could manipulate the flow of electricity in her protosteel toa-tool in such a way that would create a sustained and controllable electromagnet, and can control the flow of electricity in such away that she could control the magnetic field itself is what determines the answer to the initial question. If not, then I'm gonna have to say the answer is no, but I really don't know if it would be possible to control the magnetic field by controlling the flow of electricity. Clarification anyone?
  5. Something people need to realize is this theory, while logical, doesn't necessarily imply that the developers had planned any of this ahead of time. It is still a perfectly logical assumption and can still be accepted as canon regardless of whether or not they did. I agree with everything stated in this theory in addition to what Bonesiii stated. But that doesn't mean I believe the story writers/set designers had planned this all out.
  6. The feminine figure was the first thing I noticed. (Don't take that the wrong way.) The use of Nuva shoulder blades as chest pieces certainly works with this MOC. You also got the hip and thigh proportions perfect. As for awesomeness, I'd say this is a fine build indeed. My only complaint is the red fingernails. The transparent orange-ish hair seems to slightly justify them, but my recommendation is to add more small red aesthetic pieces in other places to further even out the color scheme. Other than that, well done.
  7. I personally think this is epic. At first glance, the use of silver parts seems a tad overdone. But seeing it transform shows how well-built it truly is. Never read the comics, but I don't need to to say this is one of the best builds of it's size I've ever seen. Well done.
  8. I have to say this is a very logical conclusion, especially with what you added in your second post. I actually think it would be logical to presume that Helryx does indeed share her design with the Toa Inika, as the Toa Inika look pretty frail to me. (Note how thin and flat their bodies are and how proportionally skinny their arms look.) Of course, the story writers/set designers probably didn't plan it that far through. It was all probably just a coincidence. But regardless of whether or not it's a coincidence, I think it's perfectly logicall to assume the Inika designs were the designs of the earliest Toa. I'm going with that from now on. :l:
  9. That was a tad aggressive. Although I do believe the Protectors are Matoran, and that the Matoran species does still exist, I'm not sure if they'll be called "Matoran" or not. As far as can be told, the would-be-Matoran don't actually wear Masks of Power. Instead, they all wear the same mask, a mask of unknown power, if any power at all, unless of course this is only among the protectors. So the masks they would wield at first would probably be powerless. That is something to bare in mind. The only Matoran I would like to see transformed into a Toa in gen 2 is Takua. (Hurk Hurk Hurk) I honestly think, other than Takanuva, they should just stick with the six Toa they already have. But, if they do decide to make Matoran into Toa like in first gen, then the Matoran I'd like to see get transformed who weren't transformed into Toa in gen 1 would be: 1. Mazeka 2.Vultraz ^^So they can have an epic rivalry as Toa, 3.Solek ^^Not sure why. I just really want to see him as a Toa for some reason... 4.Ahkmou ^^So he can be all treacherous and stuff, 5.Onepu 6.Maku ^^ To make up for the fact that they weren't transformed into Toa like ALL THE OTHER MCTORAN IN GEN 1, and 7. Vican ^^Because he's awesome.
  10. I disagree with Axilus Prime on the use of those head pieces. I for one think they work fine. It's very creative use of pieces indeed. Although the use of white does screw it up a little, I'd have to say this is a fine piece of work. Brilliant.
  11. I'd say protosteel more than likely could be turned into an electromagnet by a toa of electricity unless, like Bonesiii said, the great beings put a limit on her powers. But something else that should be taken into account is the fact that a toa of lightning would have to know how. Unless she somehow knows that a spiraling current of electricity can make a type of magnet out of her metal toa-tool, the only way she'll use her powers through her toa-tool is by firing bolts of lightning or electrical jolts, and it is arguably unlikely that a Vo-Toa would stumble upon such a skill accidentally. So unless their is an explanation as to how a Vo-Toa could have learned such a skill, (not that it would be hard for a learned Ko-Matoran scholar to explain it to her,) she'll probably never be able to create a magnet out of a protosteel weapon.
  12. I used to be able to read it as fluently as English. Although I'm not quite as good as I used to be, I'm still extremely good at deciphering it. As of now, I can read words spelled in the Matoran alphabet like it's nobodies business. But still not as good as I used to.
  13. A Toa of magnetism could lift giant metal objects and crush their enemies, among a variety of other things. They are very formidable foes indeed... I'm gonna give them a 7/10 in terms of power. Like many others have stated, they are able to create, control, and absorb just magnetism, and not metal itself. A Toa of iron would probably be far more powerful assuming they have the ability to control more metals than just iron alone. A toa of lightning or plasma would be able to almost instantly vaporize their opponents... so a Toa of magnetism isn't really quite as powerful as a Toa of lightning or plasma, or even a Toa of iron. So, although powerful, they most likely aren't quite as powerful as many other Toa with differing elemental affiliation.
  14. I'm gonna have to say Onua claws. But... what about... Piraka spines.
  15. Haha. Ok, I give up. Happy anniversary TLR. Not that you were the best Bionicle movie. :m_p:
  16. I love this MOC. It reminds me so much of the original Onepu. I love the staff. It was a really nice touch. The headpiece looks great with the 2015 Pakari as well. But above all, the feet are what make the MOC. They so perfectly replicate the McToran feet, only in modern form. I mean, really! People! Look at those GOSH DARN FEET! I think I'm gonna cry... This is so perfectly Onepu... Onepu is the first one that comes to mind when people mention the McToran. This is simply perfect! Well done, sir!
  17. I love how creative your stories are in addition to how cool the actual MOCs are. Your entries are probably my favorites among the current entries in BTFGMC.
  18. I couldn't see a Bionicle show ever happening, And that's not just because the devs already said there are no plans for one. I just couldn't see it happening. Not to say I don't want Bionicle show. In fact, if they could make it good, like on the lines of successful shows that have already been mentioned here, I would LOVE for Bionicle to have a TV series. But I just can't see it happening at this point.
  19. I never doubted his inclusion. Haha... I find some of the choices for stages very... interesting. Not to say I think they're stupid ideas. I will very much enjoy many of them... I was actually hoping for some of them. Next character I want for DLC is Magolor. I know people were expecting Bandanna Waddle Dee, but I don't think, despite his playabillity, he would make for the good fourth Kirby rep. Magolor, on the other hand would be a very unique character. I was actually half expecting him to be on the default roster.
  20. I haven't been a member here very long, but I don't have to have been in order for me to know that this is one of the friendliest, warmest, and most welcoming sites on the Internet. Some people look for reasons to hate things, whether it's differing opinions, religions, social class, or even race. (as sad as it is, the last thing does still happen. ) These people will always live their lives in hate because, as far as they are concerned, it's what they live for. That is beyond doubt the worst way to live life. The best way to live is to love, and to acknowledge differences and look past them. Even if you think you have nothing in common with somebody, there is still reason to love them, even if you can't see it. Take the advice of a Star Warrior: A wise warrior seeks not to make war, but to make peace. That should always be our continual goal. It shall always be mine. And I forgot to mention there aren't really that many people (comparatively speaking) who actually hate BZP. Those people, as with all haters, are far more outspoken than the average person. That is something to always bare in mind. I'm not saying haters don't exist. All I'm trying to say is that you should never engage in or pay mind to hate. Hate will lead you nowhere but to more hate. Love, on the other hand, will lead to more love, even if it takes a thousand years.
  21. I had known about Bionicle since it's beginning. I had seen the sets and how people freaked out over them, but I never really got into it until the I saw a commercial for the Visorak. I thought the way they had pincers that actually pinched was REALLY cool. One day, I was with my Mom in Wal-mart. She was shopping for school supplies. I remember it like it was yesterday. Someone had picked up a Vohtarak and left it in the art isle. Recognizing it from the commercial, I begged my Mom to buy it for me. She didn't want to because she didn't believe I could actually build it. But eventually she gave in, which was a huge deal to me because she never really bought me anything regardless of how much I begged. (not to say she was mean ) I kept with Bionicle until it ended. I didn't get in to the story, however, until I played the Mistika racing game on Neopets.com, which was the only website I was aloud to get on at the time. After it ceased to be on Neopets, I asked my Mom if I could get on the Bionicle website. She agreed, and I discovered the story and read all the comics that were available to me. I did eventually get a hold of some of the books. I also got on Bioniclestory.com. The rest of what I know of the story I learned about a year before Bionicle's discontinuation, courtesy of BS01. Despite having not read many of the books, I'm very well acquainted with the characters and story.
  22. I can honestly say I believe Lego has done a perfect job on all these sets. I'm very pleased with all the new designs. They really capture the characters. But when I heard gear functions were returning I was afraid that might ruin posability. But it appears Lego has finally implemented a way to add gear functions while maintaining posability. Now I could never be happier with these sets. I am concerned about the masks coming off so easily though. That was a problem I always had with the 2001- 03 sets... Other than that, these sets are a dream come true.
  23. How would one be contacted if he/she won? Do people (in this case, The Lego Group) have access to his/her email address if he/she used it to create his/her account?
  24. LOL, Brotherhood Workshop strikes again! I always have loved their vids. For those of you who haven't read the book or want to wait for the last movie, their are SIGNIFICANT SPOILERS. I suppose it's not that big a deal, but just so you know.
