  1. I really enjoy how well, this flows, from the shoulders to the feet. The blaster effect is ingenious and looks really good. It may just be a bit of personnel preference, but I think a sort of hunchback look that the original had would improve the look. Really solid moc, good luck in the ctonest.
  2. I don't know if it's the shoulders, they're actually the same width as Onua's, but rather I think that the hips might be too narrow and the torso a little short.
  3. I chose the black mainly because of only one piece of the CCBS system being available in dark blue, and if I used gen 1 pieces, it would have broken up the flow of the model.
  4. You win. Seriously. This is my favorite entry so far. Dume's torso looks a little wonky, but Nivawk more than makes up for any of dumes flaws. Nivawk is the crowning jewel of this entry and it fits the theme perfectly. It even resembles the movie version to boot. I certainly expect to see your moc in the finalists group. Well done.
  5. Thank you for the compliment, although your axonn is bigger, so I think he'd win haha.
  6. Thank you very kindly for the praise, I don't know how well they would've done as a pair, but it's uplifting to hear they might've held their own together in the contest.

    BBCC #69 Entry

There arent any dark blue CCBS pieces yet, except for one of the variants of skull spiders.
  8. Man, this one is good. I like everything about it. The way you made the cordak look similar to the original is astounding. The twin cutters are kind of iffy, and don't looks as strong as the rest of the build, but that's easily overlooked. Great moc and good luck in the contest.
  9. Thank you, the torso took me the second longest to shape/make out of the whole MOC. The use of a large amount of gold was mostly because of no dark blue CCBS shells, and I made Brutaka with the intent that the everything not gold was his body, and all the gold was his armor. I agree with you about the limbs, I tried to make them longer, but they didn't come out as smooth and armored as the current ones, so I just went with these, as they make him look imposing, imo. Thank you, I tried to make a few callbacks to the original throughout the model, some are very recognizable, and some are a little bit silly. Thank you! That's what I was hoping he would appear. I appreciate the feedback.
  10. Coming from another dimension, Brutaka suddenly appeared and started wandering Okoto on an unknown mission, often heard rambling about an "Ignika", and "crazy silver half breed skakdi". Having proven to be more formidable than a Master, Brutaka is left alone aside from the occasion skull spider that dare try and pry his mask away. Entry Picture Comparison with Protector of Fire Comparison with Lhikan Comparison with Kopaka Comparison with Axonn Side Back Back spikes? No, actually his back daggers. Gallery when public. Good luck to everyone in the contest.
  11. An informal preview of my entry which will be entered and topic created tomorrow. Cant wait to officially enter him, been tweaking him here and there, and I think he is finally contest ready.
  12. V-air-y nice re-imagining of Matau. It looks very solid everywhere, just not in the hips unfortunately. The hips are the only thing that really look meh on the model, perhaps a couple of tires or the vahki hip piece would've looked better. Still though, maybe it's just a homage to the original's thin hips, eh? Anyway, great MOC, I hope to see it go far.
  13. Nuhvok somewhat resembles the original, mainly the head, and the use of Stronius' armor for the shields is pretty cool. The nuhvok va, i'm sorry to say isn't recognizable at all. Maybe reorganizing the color scheme, and perhaps changing the head would make it look like a nuhvok va. Impressive that you were able to keep the ball function on the nuhvok though, not many people have done so. The MOCs are nice, but a few tweaks here and there would make them great.
  14. I..I'm going to use that. That'll be his name for my rendition of him for BBCC #69. "Big Daddy Brutaka".
  15. I don't think anyone meant it absolutely "has" to be made from CCBS, rather I think that they meant it should have been, due to the theme of the contest, but you are right, you built it the way you wanted, and it still came out really well. Best of luck in the contest.
  16. The MOC looks promising from the picture you provided, but the link is linked to the topic, not other pictures. EDIT: Gallery is not public yet.
  17. WW4: Did Brutaka have a tagline similar to the Piraka like "The Bully", "The Drifter" etc, or am I just imagining things?
  18. A really good MOC and really looks like a Zaktan 2.0. The lack of dark green shells is understandable and I like how you replaced them with gunmetal shells. A nice little feature that would've been a nice callback to the original would be a way to switch weapon modes. The upgraded zamor launcher really fits the character and looks good. Best of luck in the contest.
  19. I'm pretty pumped as well, mostly because of how CCBS is being used in different ways, and like you said, the nostalgia factor. I'm looking forward to seeing how well some of these current entries will do. Some of the upcoming entries like yours, Paleo's and Roa's have me elated as well. Can't wait to see how your entry turns out, I'm sure it'll be great.
  20. Sorry? The beak on the original gukko was pretty big, so I was looking for that.
  21. Very impressive recreation of Vezon. The custom head is superb, and I'm digging the spear of fusion. While i think silver would have suited him better, you wouldn't have been able to use that chima torso armor like you did. Perhaps just having the cape instead of a cape and hood combo would look more like the vezon we know. I'm not sure if the back spikes are supposed to be a pseudo spine or just back spikes. If they are supposed to be a spine, perhaps raising it a stud or two so that it's flush with his head would make it more obvious as to what it is. If they're just back spines, then they look magnificent as is. The spider skulls are creative in the use of hip armor and look pretty cool. Good job and good luck in the contest. A very strong entry and I hope you make it to the finals in the contest!
  22. It looks like you only had a few sets to work with, and the end result is pretty recognizable. A beak and/or eyes on the gukko wouldn't hurt though.
  23. This is very nice, and looks like a prototype or organic version of a bohrok. My only qualm is the use of purple and light blue. I think the green pod pieces would've been better suited for Nuvhok. Overall a strong entry though, good luck in the contest.
  24. There are dark green CCBS shells, but only in three sizes unfortunately.
