  1. I think Skull Grinder is a pretty good name myself, implying what he does to those that oppose him. If there had to be a different name, though, I would have gone with something along the lines of "Skull Emperor".
  2. Personally, I find the progression more reminiscent of a Mega Man Wily fortress. 4 main areas with their own "bosses", and a small final stage in the form of the mask forge.
  3. Is the background enviroment of the Protector of Fire on the checklist been seen before? I don't recall it.
  4. Retweet this Twitter post for a chance to win one of the Comic Con Skull Scorpio masks! https://twitter.com/LEGO_Group/status/619952630375120896/photo/1
  5. Rule of fiction: if you don't see them die for sure, and exhale their last breath, never assume they're dead. After all, we haven't seen the golden Skull Spider Mask in the animations yet.
  6. Ugh, yeah, I'm never even gonna try to get one of those exclusives. Having all the sets is a complete collection in my books.
  7. As you might be able to tell from my name, I'm most partial to ice. I'm very introverted, and like having alone time even though I've become more social in the past year. I'm not afraid to speak my mind as long as I don't think anyone's feelings will be hurt. Winter is my favorite season and I'd rather work in the cold than the heat. So, I'd probably make my first original character ice-affiliated because I have a good idea of what that kind of personality is like.
  8. I think the trans-orange might be to signify that they're under LoSS/Grinder's control and drawing from their power, as both have trans-orange as a large part of their color schemes. Of course, that doesn't excuse the fact that they interfere with the minions' colors.
  9. Not really a theory, but my only exposure to the Toa Mata back in the day was through the books. The only images of the Toa I had was a lineup of their heads and upper torsos, and I assumed for a while that the brown guy was Onua and the black guy was Pohatu. Took me a while to realize the discrepancies.
  10. This is likely being assumed from the comics on the sets' boxes. There are at least two Scorpios, according to the set comic, while only one Basher has appeared. Of course, the winter wave's comics didn't match up with the animations, so pulling information from the comics isn't a good idea.
  11. Alright, but I don't see why that's particularly important, to be frank. Speaking of which, while it's entirely possible that the kid is G2's Takua, the father relaying the legends to his son may just be an excuse for the carvings to be lit up and visible. Then again, they had the kid reappear in the next episode...
  12. I'm not too enthused by Warrior. He's the only one to play it safe out of the four minions, and to me feels like just a larger-scale Protector of Jungle. Slicer's got the intricate gearbox and four arms, Basher's arm swinging sets him apart, and Scorpio's a non-humanoid build, which I don't think has been attempted enough. Warrior has no gimmick to call its own; there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not much in the way of a new building experience.
  13. I know that the CCBS ball/socket connections are easier to disconnect, but how did you manage to to get "plenty of sore-thumb moments" from the G1 ball/socket disconnections? Most of the time, you could just increase the angle of the pieces until they snap apart. Alternatively, you could simply pull the two pieces apart, which requires a little bit more strength and from my experience, this technique is more prone to severe cracks on the lower section of the socket. It was more putting them together than taking them apart, now that I think about it. Plus, I was pretty young so I didn't put much thought into how I did things. "No pain, no gain" was my mentality.
  14. This makes a lot of sense, actually. I'm guessing that they might've added Scorpio so that there are six villains to match the six Toa. For the record, I don't mind Scorpio too much myself. Its tail function is pretty cool, and looks like it'll be fun to build. I mostly wish the tail was more fleshed out, like how LoSS hid most of the Technic in the front and middle.
