  1. I want an anniversary celebration as much as the next guy, but I gotta be honest, nearly everything you're proposing there is super unlikely and not at all small. In particular, points 2 and 3 - as a games developer I can tell you now, if they wanted to be shipping a new game or even a remaster next year, they'd have to have already started on it, and if Lego were making a Bionicle game in 2020, I'm sure we would've heard about it by now. I do think probably the art book is the most viable thing here. There's already a lot of G1 concept art floating around in isolation that makes its way into collectors' hands, and a compendium of it, provided they still had the original material, seems most stress-free to make. I think it's probably most likely, unfortunately, that we get no celebration - but there's community projects like The Masks of Power that are in development and still ship news quite regularly, and we can always look forward to these and whatever BZPower might do for the occasion, if nothing else.
  2. Same here - when I was much younger, I remember uploading MOCs there. I'm sure there's many buried goodies in there now.
  3. I've always been curious how Makuta/Dume knew the blueprints to the Vahi and knew how to put them in a readable enough format that Matoran Vakama could figure it out. Perhaps something he stole from Artahka at one point or another? I suppose on the topic of forging difficult things, could Artahka use the Mask of Creation to tell him how to make more Masks of Creation, if he wanted? That might be a bit like wishing for more wishes from a genie, I suppose. I also thought the Kaita masks were not forged by hand - that they were, like the bodies of the Kaita, simply merged versions of the masks. This would make me think the idea someone else was on about - the Spear of Fusion and Roodaka's spinner - could make Kanohi with multiple powers because they merge things together. The Spear of Fusion can do a lot of weird stuff, thinking about it. Some very creative MOC ideas right there.
  4. Would this suggest that the TT Games crew got given a prototype model to use for splash screens or promotional art? They state in the "wacky.txt" file found in the game that many models in the game were constructed by being 3D modelled strictly to the original pieces. I suppose the only caveat with this is the Reidak model in the game is very clearly not the prototype version. Perhaps an older version of his 3D model used the prototype? My datamining has suggested there was an older Thok model in the game files with visibly different features - he looks closer to the prototype version of Thok, at least in his texture detail. Perhaps this was the case early in development? Heroes took around 10 months to make, I think - if it released in November 2006 for the first time, it very well may have started development before the Piraka designs were finalised.
  5. Yeah, it might be even older than the existing prototype image we have with the weapon looking like that. A shame it's so low-res in the game files, it would've been nice to look at it in higher detail.
  6. Hi all, I've been datamining and modding Bionicle Heroes for about two weeks now. I have a much bigger article planned including documentation on how to make your own mods and such, but for now, I just stumbled upon this really cool find and I had to share it: I checked this against another picture of the Reidak prototype we have, and it seems this one has a lot of his features, like the differently coloured Piraka weapon, the upside-down Zamor Sphere launcher, and the different head mould. I'm not sure if we've already had this picture before, but finding it whilst datamining Bionicle Heroes was a really cool find nonetheless. There's more stuff in Bionicle Heroes worth taking a look at and in not too long I'll have a full article up detailing mods I've made, documentation on how they were done, and also linking a wikia I've setup just for modding and datamining the game and documenting modding techniques and/or findings.
  7. Still looking. I put up a thread on Reddit, too, to see if I can up my chances, and I'm watching eBay + Bricklink like a hawk. Still, if anyone has on they're willing to part with, I'm confident we can come to a fair deal. I don't really know where else I should keep an eye on besides here, Bricklink, my reddit post, and eBay, so if anyone has suggestions on other avenues, I'm definitely open to them.
  8. Still looking for a pearl gold Kraahkan from anyone - willing to pay considerably more than the $20 the mask apparently used to be worth. Please PM me. I’ve got Dark Gold Kraahkans I can use for comparison in case you’re unsure you have one or not.
  9. When you say "your list of sales", does that mean you sold these? If so, do you have another you might be willing to sell?
  10. Hi, wanting to buy a disk of time and talk to you about some other collectibles - please PM me if you’ve still got a disk!
  11. Hi, Longtime collector and builder of bionicles. I’m a semi casual collector - I’m not generally after stuff like prototypes or one-of-a-kinds - but I fell in love with the pearl gold Kraahkan in 2013 and have been looking for one ever since. The pinned collectibles thread in this forum says it’s worth about $20 but I would be willing to pay more than that for someone who has one and is willing to sell it. If anyone knows anywhere else I can get one, I’d really appreciate the hint, too. This thing has been eluding me for almost a decade and I really want it so I can finally round off the last hole bothering me in my collection. Thanks, Kralich
  12. Can you link me what knockoff sets? A link to a company, image, etc?
  13. Hey, found two very odd masks whilst sorting through a 10,000 part bundle last Christmas and I've been meaning to post them on here to help me figure out where they came from: Just in case you can't see the images, it's a yellow Bulk 3.0 mask (aka the wolf head, but in yellow) and an orange Stringer 3.0 mask (aka the panther head, but in orange). Both of them have axel holes underneath, similar to the Agori and Glatorian masks, as opposed to the two pins which are expected for the hero factory masks.
  14. INTRODUCING: Tathos, the Clockwork Dragon! Entry Image: Link: http://imgur.com/vRLrZEd Extended Gallery: http://imgur.com/a/zRTQE#0 Details: Tathos took more than twenty hours of work to complete. I did him in segments: Starting with the legs one session, then the arms, then the torso and head, followed by the wings and tail. He stands 58 cm high, with a wingspan of 72 cm. Biography: When the Mask of Ultimate Power flew off Makuta’s face and landed elsewhere on the island of Okoto, it released bursts of energy throughout its flight. These bursts of concentrated elemental energy gave birth to six guardians: The Dragons of Elemental Affinity. Each of them represented one of the six core elements: Fire, water, earth, stone, air, and ice. All of those created by these bursts, however, were corrupted by the innate evil of the mask-and so, their directive was to destroy any who approached the mask or threatened to use it. These six were named Buerdegon, the Magmatic Dragon, Aqertezal, the Dragon of the Deep, Glacerot, the Frostbite Dragon, Galeratil, the Gale Dragon, Mackinaot, the Dragon of the Peak, and Tathos, the Clockwork Dragon. Tathos was the most reclusive of the six, his lair being in the underground caverns that he dug himself. He fought the ravenous Splinter Husks that infested the ground of Okoto, and, as his directive called, he seeks Onua, the Master of Earth, as do the other dragons seek the Toa of their respective elements. Tathos, in particular, was bulky and as resilient as a fortress wall. His hide was nigh on impenetrable, the only true weakness being his own elemental energy, or that of a being of water. He had the ability to see without fault in the dark and, contrary to other creatures with similar abilities, suffered no hindrances when outside in broad daylight. His grip was said to be so strong he could rip giant boulders from mountains, and he dwarfed even the mightiest Toa by almost twenty metres. As his elemental power was Earth, he could make use of abilities such as digging at rapid speeds, creating an immovable wall with his body, or causing earthquakes by destabilising the gravimetric forces of the planet. His wings were rarely used, hence why they tended to droop, but despite this he could still reach speeds of over two hundred miles per hour, and if his adrenaline kicked in his recorded speed could exceed even three hundred. Regarding his personality, he was antisocial, preferring quiet and the loneliness of an underground dweller. Despite his bestial appearance, he was completely sentient, and was capable of rudimentary speech (though he and his fellow Guardians preferred to communicate telepathically with each other). He got along most with Buerdegon, as when a magma flow threatened Tathos’ underground tunnels, the Magmatic Dragon ceased the flow and moved the molten rock back from where it came. I was really looking forward to entering this competition, as the last time Lego ran something like this (the prize being the Platinum Avohkii) I was far too young to enter. Happy I could enter this time round.
