This is what I've written as part of a paper (essay format, supposedly) that I'm turning in tomorrow. Honest to goodness, word for word.

Consider the effectiveness of the movie in communicating its message. As a tool of communication, what are its strengths and weaknesses?
The film is quite effective in communicating its message. It scares people into germophobia and educates them on the worst-case scenario. Its strengths include fake blood, crying children, scared families, desperation, death (all of which are very good for getting people to relate to the film on an emotional level for more effective inundation), an old friend who is haunted by past wrongs, a helicopter chase, and explosions. Its weaknesses include not enough footage of gory disease, making the gullible audience think that an antivirus can be isolated, created, and distributed to an entire town in less than a day, and not enough explosions.

Do you feel unjustly treated? Want or need to get something done? Don't be afraid to talk to people! And perhaps appeal then to even more people! Ask around! It'll get people talking and then that something WILL get done!

That's what I did, and then I had half the campus offices talking to each other and getting things done, the way they SHOULD be!

    Raise some ruckus! GET RESULTS

    (so pumped right now!)

BEFORE all you hardcore Halo players attack me for not playing Reach sooner - I was busy with homework, work-work, chores, and Halo Wars.

And before you RTS-haters attack me for playing Wars - I unashamedly like playing it and I'm totally on the road to getting all the achievements.

and so BTW the reason for this entry is that I LOVE the way that my Halo: Reach personal character is the one showing up in the gameplay and cutscenes.

    REALLY LOVE IT.

The rest is kinda boring, and I stink with either a shotty or a snipe, but I haven't gotten very far yet.

I just realized that I don't have to pack a lunch tomorrow - they're holding a reception for honor students! So I'll go, pick up my certificate, shake some hands, and eat from their table.

I would go and tell my Macroeconomics professor that I'm getting a free lunch, but the fact of the matter is, I worked really hard for it.

Here's that 'tortellini' recipe I made at BrickFair! This way, it's easier to share.

Prep time: 5 minutes (they lie)
Cook time: 20 minutes (they still lie)
    Serves: 4 (yet another untruth)

    Ingredients:
8 oz. penne or ziti pasta, uncooked ----> You can substitute or mix in any noodle you like, including elbow (macaroni) noodles and Tortellini (I like the Buitoni brand 3-cheese tortellini.) cups (8.0z) spinach leaves (torn, baby, or large, all of them are fine) (frozen spinach works GREAT and is a lot cheaper than fresh, btw) 1/4 cup olive oil 2 cloves garlic, minced (more to taste) 1/2 cup chicken broth 1 large tomato, diced (more to taste) 1 3/4 cups (7 oz) shredded Mozzarella cheese (or your favorite shredded cheese) Cook pasta according to package directions, adding spinach to water during last minute of cooking, stirring until wilted. (If you can't fit the spinach into the pot with the noodles, you can cook the spinach in another pot [small amount of water, cook until wilted], then add it to the strained noodles.)
Meanwhile, heat oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; cook 2 minutes. Add broth and bring to a simmer; cook 4 minutes.

*Drain pasta and spinach; add to skillet, tossing well. simmer 2 minutes, tossing frequently. Stir in tomato; heat through. Season with salt to taste. (Doesn't need any! : P) Transfer mixture to four shallow pasta bowls; top each serving with 1/4 cup cheese. Immediately toss pasta with two spoons until cheese melts. Top each serving with remaining cheese. Serve with freshly ground black pepper (optional).
*That's not how I do it. I drain the pasta and spinach, and put them together in a large serving bowl. Then I add the olive oil/garlic/broth and mix. I add the diced tomatoes next, because they're refreshing when not cooked to death. I put the mozarella on last and stir it up; the people can serve themselves.

Notice that if you want meat, you can easily chop chicken or use a meat-filled tortellini. Also notice that this can be a vegetarian meal, if you use a chicken broth substitute.

I have not yet made a blog entry about BrickFair '10 because there was too much awesome to physically fit into this blog.

And also because I have not yet had enough sleep.

But I would like to link to a few things relating to the awesomeness of BrickFair and attempt to break my own previous statement pertaining to physics (I'm not so good at science anyway):

I totally forgot that since it's July, I got my seventh year spinny. I missed my own anniversary by 13 days! Shame on me. I'd tell you that it's because I'm busy with work and important things and even trying to be busy on BZ at the same time, except... er... well yeah, that's the truth, akshully. XD

So here's to seven great years, and to BZPower's own upcoming anniversary, and so much sappy stuff you could mop it up off the floor and re-use it elsewhere.

    Maaaataaaaaa Nuuuuuuuiiiii spiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins

There was something I really, really needed to pay. And it had to be paid via check, via snail mail. No problem. But for some reason, I kept slacking. And slacking. And slacking.

So finally, I wrote the check. Hooray! Ready to mail it in the morning!

The next day, on my way to work, I dropped the envelope in the mailbox, sealed, and went about my day.

When I got home, my dad took something off the kitchen table and showed it to me. My check.

Apparently my little brother had found it on the floor right outside my bedroom... it had fallen out of the envelope before I sealed it. *facepalm* And THEN, my dad had picked it up from the table, thinking it was HIS check, and he had tried to cash it that afternoon. Not that the teller let him get away with it, of course. Double facepalm.

So the place that needed my check was going to get an blank envelope with a piece of paper that said I was sending them money. Only, there was no money for them in that envelope. How embarassing.

Later that night, as I worked off my embarrassment with a friend, I realized that I'd never put a stamp on the envelope, either.

    Triple facepalm.

We Bionicle fans get a lot of rap from Adult Fans Of LEGO, mostly for the reason that Bionicle pieces aren't really LEGO Bricks, they're... weird pieces with the occasional stud. Whatever. We love Bionicle. Not all AFOLS have to. In fact, now AFOLs don't even have to like LEGO, period!

Hahli Husky - "Well yanno, most AFOLs hate Lego!"

Dear friends, some professors are not fit to lead the classes they teach.

    I have one such professor.

    Tomorrow is the final.

Then I will never have to suffer the man's awkwardness or lack of ability in his own area again.

(But I doubt I'll get out of there alive. I might die of a conniption first.)

After Monday, I'm on to better things! ~ *And that, my friends, is a VERY happy thought!*

    OH GOSH NO.

asdf I was sitting here, happily typing up my news piece in the web browser for today, when my window suddenly disappeared and I was cheerily informed, "Firefox has crashed! Haha, sucker. We'll try to restore your window if you want. Might as well report the problem to us, while you're at it. Say good-bye to your article, though!"

Having absolutely no choice in the matter, I told it to restart. Thank heavens it brought up my window with my text all in it, but egads, when was the last time I had such a heart attack? It was like three paragraphs long. I couldn't have re-written it.

That'll learn me to type it in the web browser. (Every experienced RPG'er out there is shaking their head at me right now. Yeah, some times I've gotta learn the hard way.)

'Neway, my text is safe, so news will be up by six!

*prances throughout her university hallways and passes through her Blog* I would make you all help me out with this like HahliHusky has been doing, but I know none of you know this ditty! FOR SHAME.

You gotta keep the beat with your hands - pat them on your lap or on the table, then clap, back and forth for a one-two-one-two beat. The first word, Flea, takes two beats (lap, clap) and when the crowd repeats 'flea', it takes the second two beats. No, I don't expect ANY of you to understand or get it right.

    Flea (flea)

    Flea fly (flea fly)

Flea fly flo (flea fly flo)

    Vistay! (Vistay!)

    Cuma-a-lada, cum-a-lada, cum-a-lada, vistay (cuma-a-lada, cum-a-lada, cum-a-lada, vistay)

OOOOOH no no no, not da vistay (OOOOH no no no, not da vistay)

Eeny meeny desa meeny, uwa, uwa-na-meeny, exa meeny, sala meeny, uwa, uwa! (eeny meeny desa meeny, uwa, uwa-na-meeny, exa meeny sala meeny, uwa, uwa)

(itchy itchy scratchy scratchy got one on my backy backy)

    Beet billy oten-boten bo-bo ba-deetn-datn, bo-bo ba-deetn-datn, wa-dat'n, chaah!

    *prances right out again*

LEGO doesn't have any Newsie caps for minifigs.
    Or Elvis hair.

No Elvis hair? Now how am I supposed to make a Johnny Bravo minifig?! Honestly, LEGO. You should be ashamed.

And after that, how about some old person minifigs? You know, the elderly. There aren't very many of those. We have creepy wrinkled faces but I don't recall any nice old person faces. What, the LEGO universe is made up of only young adults and the early-middle-aged? What about a Grandma? Everybody loves Grandma. Make a Grandma minifig. She'll fit in the City sets just fine. Park, store, shop, post office. House. Something. With grey hair. And a cute shawl. We need minifig shawls. Young women wear them, too. And a purse. Hey! Are there no minifig purses? C'mon, yesterday's orange Designer LEGO remake only works for real chicks. And it's not even in the catalog.

And no instruments, either!! Where are the minifig-sized instruments? Guitars, ukuleles? Drums, flutes, washboards? Seriously. A violin would be classy. How about an orchestra! A minifig orchestra!! There must be some way TLC can fit in a cute minifig orchestra with instruments.

And more minifig dresses, please. Dresses are nice. Make a limited edition Ballroom set with ladies in dresses and men in suits and tophats. Yes, there are already tophats. And a full orchestra with instruments. Oh my goodness, how adorable would that be.

But I will take this opportunity to thank LEGO for increasing the styles of female minifig hair and clothing these last few years. I APPRECIATE IT!

But back to the disturbing lack of ELVIS HAIR... and guitars.
