  1. Emotions And Feelings “Antibodies. That's what the Matoran are.” He pushed away from the desk and his chair wheeled across the room to another desk. He picked up a paper, studied it quickly, and tossed it aside. “More accurately, the Toa are antibodies. The Matoran are just dumb creatures, laboring away to keep the body alive.” The small being shuffled from the chair to a curtained window on the wall. He peeled back the thick shade and blinked in pain as intense sunlight flooded into the dark room. His eyes adjusted, and he looked out onto a large scene. In the expense of land in the distance, a great titan was being pieced together. Small shadows milled about at its feet and could be seen dragging parts from all directions. “The final assembly.” he muttered. He turned away and let the curtain fall, plunging the room into darkness again. “But the Matoran are flawed. The Toa are flawed. They think they have all of the backup plans in the world, but they don't realize that a robot, no matter how much organic matter they slap onto it, cannot make the critical decisions we need.” The room responded with silence, but he took no noticed. He shuffled over to the first desk and began scribbling. “They need to think. To laugh. To love. To anger. To hate. They need emotions and feelings.” He paused. The words seemed to float in the air. “Emotions and feelings.” He repeated. He stepped away from the desk and picked up the piece of paper he had tossed to the side earlier. “But from where?” He sat the paper down on the desk. “'Matoran Internal Processing Units,' or their brains. To there, but from where?” He turned on his heel and crossed the room with speed, to a large monitor situated across the wall. He touched the screen with his open palm and it hummed to life, bringing a bright blue glow to the room. “You can't code emotions. Love, hate, joy, sadness; it has to be natural. Internal. Raised. Nurtured.” He swiped around on the screen until the blue glow was replaced by a pink one. “It has to be natural.” He pressed his palm against the screen again and a cable from the ceiling descended behind his head, a sharp prong exposed and aimed at the base of his skull. “Natural. We need to put a little of us into their programming. Memories. Emotions. Feeling.” He closed his eyes and the prong moved. *********** Dang it feels good to be back. Just a quick one I had sitting in my folders before I left for Basic but never got to share. Hope you enjoy.
  2. Hey y'all, it's been a while. For those of you that don't know, I'm here at Tech School, post USAF-Basic Training. Kinda left for a while, and I apologize if I left anybody hanging. Most likely will get back into this, but it may be some time. Just wanted to check in and say I'm looking forward to the adventure again!
  3. I hold the world, but not the people in it.
  4. It's been a while. A long while. Not exactly sure of the time frame to be honest, but it may be far too long. Well, where was I? Air Force Basic Training, 323rd Training Squadron, Lackland AFB, Texas. Had a fantastic time. Grew a lot. Lost 15lbs, almost made honor grad, and met some great people(and some awful people.). Now, I'm at Tech School for Weather. Meteorology. Cloud science. Keesler AFB, Mississippi. I have about 6 1/2 months ahead of me and I'm looking forward to getting past it. I'm back. Look forward to my writing on the weekends primarily, as the weekdays are far too busy for that. Anybody miss me? Wouldn't be shocked if nobody remembered me, wasn't around that long in the first place.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean by Master/United versions, but thank you, your words are much appreciated.
  6. Weather man said it’s gonna snow By now I should be used to the cold The snow crunched underneath the Toa of Water. She glanced up at the greyish sky, the falling snow, the dim lighting of the moment, and sighed. Was it really winter again, had it been that long, she asked herself. The frost on her breath gave no reply and the snow underfoot didn’t either. Silence greeted her on this day. *************************************************** Mid-February shouldn’t be so scary It was only December I still remember the presents, the tree, you and me The Toa of Air flipped through the air and landed on a tree branch. “Tall enough?” He called out to the crowd below him. A wave of disapproving shouts came up to him and he sneered at them. “Fine, fine, another tree.” He flipped to the neighboring tree, taller than its brother. “This one?” The crowd gave a positive roar and he grinned. “Yes! Finally!” He dropped from the branch, his mask glowing to control his descent. On the ground he looked for her and smiled. “Like it for New Atero Square?” “Perfect,” she said. “Like you.” ************************************************** But you went away How dare you? I miss you The soft limestone felt comforting under her hands as she passed through the arch. She held back tears until she passed into the field. Stones stood in rows, each with a name and a symbol. Few she knew. All were mourned. She wiped away a tear and continued along the central trail to the center of the field. Not far now, she thought, not far at all. ******************************************************* He held his arm to his chest, gripping his weapon tightly. His cracked chest armor showed a rapidly slowing heartlight. His body heaved as he coughed. “Guh...guh….” She pulled him into his arms, tears falling onto his body. “Hold on, please, hold on, they’re coming,” she whispered to him. She knew the truth. He wouldn’t make it. “Dah….Did...we win?” He gasped. His eyes looked up into hers and she nodded. “You did it. You saved us.” “I-I…..love……” And she sobbed into the night. **************************************************************************** It really sinks in, you know, when I see it in stone She leaned her head against the stone, her mask rubbing gently against the inscription. “I miss you,” she said to his memory. She laid the air katana down on the grave and sat for awhile with him. A warm wind blew around her, and for a moment, she could’ve swore it was him hugging her.

Let's just say that's the last time I went to Walmart at 2AM in the morning.

Some stories are like corn. It takes a few attempts and a few crops before you can grow the perfect earful. Also it takes a lot of time. Then some stories are like random roaches in the Walmart parking lot. Before you know it, they have run up your pant leg and are getting cozy with your privates.
  9. Saw three films recently, Arrival, Logan, and LEGO Batman. Gotta say, all three really blew my expectations out of the park and were fantastic films. Arrival was one of the best Sci-Fi films I have seen in a long time. You know why? It has a lot less to do with "DIE ALIEN SCUM" and more with actually just communication. It was fascinating and I loved it so much. The big reveal at the end and how it all played out just made it perfect. Definitely recommend seeing it. Logan was very good, a better representation of the character on the screen like he is in most comics. The language use was slightly off putting because it was like he was just given permission to swear so they wanted to use it as much as possible, haha. Other than that, the characterization was excellent as always from Hugh Jackman. Minor issue with the plot tho; I've read Old Man Logan, the comic it is based off, and the way Logan decides to hang up being a superhero is SOOOOOO much better and deeper and darker(not saying it being darker makes it better necessarily, but it works for what happened to him.) than what is shown and implied in the movie. Not as gripping, I thought. LEGO Batman. Near perfection. Jokes were great, references to Batman's long publication history, and all the supporting characters made it a top contender for film of the year and it's only April. Just saying.
  10. Yeah, beating a dead horse but I'm still not over what FO:4 should have been. Could have been. Graphics were great, I loved the settlement building(but I think they should have cut down on the amount of settlement locations...), the Gunplay was great, but other then that....it kinda sucked. Period. Ah, oh well. Can't have a good thing all the time.

    Dusty....

..is a great name for a dog. Horrible condition for a blog however. Not saying I'm writing some Bionicle-ish stuff(and totally not saying I found some random books of Bionicle for like, $3 books for a box full at a garage sale), and I'm not saying I may be more active. I'm just saying Dusty is a great name for a dog.

    Here I Am

Well, it's a new year. 2017. Last year wasn't that bad for me. Made a lot of friends. Learned a lot. Got hurt a lot. Picked myself up a lot. Lot of good artists died, though; that was upsetting. But what about here? My original intent of coming here, just to RolePlay is dead. I have no time for that anymore. I'm coming up on enlisting in the National Guard and I was promoted to full time at work. I still have stories swimming about in my brain though. Things and thoughts I should put to paper(or more accurately, to screen.). I'll consider it. I think I'll be more active here. Try to be at least. There's something to be said about this place that I keep coming back for, but I can't put my finger on it. I'm not sure I want to either. New year. New you. Jamba Juice.
  13. Huh. As BZPower slightly adjusts itself to a more overall LEGO theme, one could see a flood of former LMBers coming onto here. Or not.
  14. IC: Otho - Tesara Jail Otho was in disbelief. They arrested him, just to give him a pep talk and release him? What kinda of justice system was this city running? At least in Cliffside if you broke one of the shady rules, punishment was dished out. Here....he was given a pep talk for destroying squash. He wasn't about to talk himself into a longer sentence however, so he quickly grabbed his jetpack(now semi-ruined) and ran off without another word. OOC: Otho OFI
  15. Hacksaw Ridge. Great, but bloody. 9/10 Moana. Still need to see. ?/10 Did for you. ;D
  16. IC: Otho - Tesara Jail Of course. More blind beings. They fail to see what's happening right in front of them. Whatever, that wasn't important. Otho needed to get to New Atero or bust. "Listen, you should let me go because I am a great mechanic!" He pleaded. "I can help you!"

    plague inc

I dunno I found Nano-Virus the hardest out of the basic plagues whereas I actually beat Fungus on the first time with every difficulty. What difficulty are you trying it on?
  18. IC: Otho - Tesara Jail Otho shook his head in annoyance. "No, I'm not brain damaged!" He groaned and put his head against the bars. It was getting hard to talk with his headache, but he had to get out. "The Gremlins! When Makuta died, his evil didn't die with him! All that smoke and smog leaking out of the Chasm? That's the Gremlins; little leftovers of his evil that just damage equipment and ruin things! You gotta believe me!"
  19. IC: Otho - Tesara City Jail Otho looked from one guard to the next. "No! It wasn't my fault! It was the gremlins!" He cried, grabbing the bars that separated him from freedom.
  20. Or, like, a slap to the face Why not both?
  21. Otho needs a ribbon for being the first imprisoned character.
  22. IC: Otho - Tesara Jail The raging headache Otho had was the first thing he even remotely cared about. The fact he was in a small steel-and-concrete cell didn't even catch his attention at first. "...Oooouagggghhh..." He groaned. He sat up slowly, both hands resting on his head. He felt small cracks in the top of his mask, probably from whatever he smashed into with...."Erika? Wait...a second, where's my jetpack?" Otho clambered to a standing position as fast as he could without blacking out and walked to the cell door. "Hello! Anybody?! I need to be released!"
  23. It's not worth it. I've worked in both retail and the food business. Don't go Black Friday shopping at midnight. Or at 3AM. Wait until like 7AM like a reasonable person. They'll still have TV's before Christmas. Those waffle toasters you're jazzed about? Still there. The latest iBox game? Boy, lemme tell you something about the way they will have it. Enjoy family. Give thanks for all the good you have in this world. Happy Thanksgiving
  24. IC: Otho - Tesara City Square - Unconsciousness Otho wasn't able to respond to Akita's attempts to revive him, nor did he react to the guards cuffing him and dragging him off. It would be a few hours until he recovered, most likely.
  25. IC: Otho - Tesara Marketplace - Attempting Escape Otho made a beeline for the thicker parts of the crowds, gaining a bit of traction under his feet as the mud dried and caked off. "Move it!" Otho shouted, knocking an Agori right into a trinket stand. "Important fellow, coming through!" Otho grabbed the controls for Erika and hit the ignition button. Just a little bit of fuel and he could get half the city away before they knew what was happening. Erika gurgled slightly and unleashed a small burst of energy that did grant Otho flight.....for several feet. He crashed head first into a low wall, his head cracking loudly against it. If it weren't for his mask, he would have died. But his mask didn't save him for slipping away into unconsciousness.
