  1. I despise the Hordika, but the Rhotukas were still pretty cool.
  2. Yeah, I didn't really like most of the Barakki desgins, but Takadox was always pretty cool. It seems that you like sets with more than one figure.
  3. What is your favorite BIONICLE set, and why? Was it the first one you got? Do you enjoy building it? Does it bring you feelings of nostalgia? Does it just look cool to you? Let me know! I personally can't pick, but it would probably be a set from 2007 or 2008.
  4. Cleary that's what he did. He most likely waited for the villagers to settle down after the Ekimu/Makuta incident and then struck.
  5. This is possible, although the LEGO Club Magazine does state that the Lord of Skull Spiders can control the Skull Spiders telepathically, without mentioning the need for any mask. It may turn out that the Golden Mask of Skull Spiders has a different purpose in the story to that which the box implies.I don't think this is the case - I think that just refers to that fact that LoSS is controlling them using the mask. It's like me saying "I typed this post." I didn't mention the computer that allowed me to do so, but it is implied in the word typed and thus didn't need to be said. In the same way, LoSS is controlling the spiders through his mask, but the mask is implied to be the way he does it, and thus doesn't need to be stated there. I'm not sure it's implied that anything else is needed to control the Skull Spiders. Here is the Club Magazine quote for reference: I think he might actually need the mask. You would probably say that Vakama used his invisibility powers instead of saying Vakama used his Huna's invisibility powers. Anyway, does anyone have anything to say about the rest of my theory?
  6. Holy Mata Nui that is cool. Too bad they never made a set of that form.
  7. It seems unlikely that the shockwave would kill people in the city, seeing as it originated from a point near to the coast of the Region of Stone and the Ancient City is in the mountains of the Region of Water. This is possible, although the LEGO Club Magazine does state that the Lord of Skull Spiders can control the Skull Spiders telepathically, without mentioning the need for any mask. It may turn out that the Golden Mask of Skull Spiders has a different purpose in the story to that which the box implies. I do agree with your first point, but on the second part all I was trying to say was LoSS was ready to launch his attack. So it seems LoSS has telepathic powers, while the mask grants control of the hordes, which could lead to some interesting stuff.
  8. The first one I got was Surge 1.0, followed closely by Stringer 1.0. My brother and I had hours of fun with those guys. I later got Meltdown and Corroder. The last one I got was my own Hero Recon figure.
  9. Ok. I'm going to do my best to tell the 2015 story, but using speculation -not truth- to fill in the blanks. Canon is regular text, speculation is bold. On the island of Okoto, everything is great. All of the island's inhabitants live in the City of the Mask Makers, doing normal stuff. Little do they know that under the surface, a dark force lies in wait. Ekimu and Makuta make masks for the villagers, but Makuta grows jealous when Ekimu's masks are favored. He creates the Mask of Ultimate Power, breaking a sacred rule in the process. Ekimu is able to knock the mask from Makuta's face, but a shockwave ravages the city and the entire island. The brothers are sent into a deep sleep, their masks are scattered across the island, and many citizens are killed by the shockwave. Many villagers leave the city and establish villages in their element's region. The Protectors are charged with guarding their element's Golden Mask of Power, and the duty is handed down from father to son. Nothing happens for a long time, but eventually, the Lord of Skull Spiders finds a mask that lets him control the Skull Spider hordes. The Spiders attack the island, searching for Masks of Power. The current Protectors summon the Toa using the Prophecy of Heroes. The Toa claim their Golden Masks, head for the City of the Mask Makers, and defeat the Lord of Skull Spiders. Makuta is awakened by this sudden surge of power on the island. He is able to use his Mask of Control and reanimate the form of Kulta, who he puts under his control. Kulta raises an army of reanimated citizens, who are now various types of undead warriors. Apparently, the Lord of Skull Spiders is not dead, and is able to control the reanimated Skull Slicer. Until the new animations and novels are officially out, I'm not going to go any farther. Feedback/constructive criticism is welcome.
  10. #feelthepower #masterofyolo #spookyskeletons
  11. Target in Modesto California had Scorpio, Slicer, and Basher.
  12. I was planning on making a Matoran based around the new gearbox piece, and I finally did it! Let me know if you want pics. I took one or two... but then I took it apart...
  13. Thanks for posting this man! I was planning on asking you to do this anyways!
  14. I have my Toa wear their regular masks, with the Skull Spiders pouncing on the Golden ones. To me, it makes sense to have the Golden masks lying around, but not the regular ones. I do think they look good with either color, though.
  15. The main motivation for Kulta we've gotten is that he wants to destroy all Masks of Power, mostly the Mask of Creation. That was first revealed in the Club Magazine, I think. Also, I think that comic is from the MMvsSG set. Also, why are the Lord of Skull Spiders and Kulta working together? They have opposite goals. Where do you get the impression that they have opposite goals? Lord of Skull Spiders steals masks, and Kulta destroys them. How would you expect Kulta to destroy masks he doesn't have? Particularly considering the Skull Army has not been shown to leave the Ancient City. In that sense, Lord of Skull Spiders performs a necessary function, by collecting the masks strewn across the island for Kulta to dispose of. From Biosector01: Thousands of years after the Conflict Between Ekimu and Makuta, the Lord of Skull Spiders grew a desire to possess the Masks of Power, specifically the Mask of Creation. Using the Golden Mask of the Skull Spiders, it commanded the Skull Spiders to attack the villages and find the Masks of Power. Kulta[1], the Skull Grinder, is the grim and vicious dark lord of the Skull Creatures, who seeks to find and destroy the Masks of Power.
  16. New story infooooo. What is that menacing plant in the background? Maybe they're just trying to imply that the city is old and deserted.

  18. I had this same problem when collecting Transformers figures. I would buy one, put it on the shelf and tell myself it would be worth a lot later on. I ended up opening them all, and it was well worth it. With BIONICLE specifically though, I haven't gotten that many sets, but I tend to buy older LEGO sets used, so it's not really a problem for me.
  19. I really like the new animations and I want to get the sets, but the animations' versions of the Toa's true faces are... disturbing, to say the least.
