  1. All of the Metru masks are designed to fit snugly on Mata heads, but for 2006 onward, the designers didn't make the masks compatible with mata heads. Some of the masks just happen to fit, so a Shelek, might, but a lot just don't fit on mata heads.
  2. I always thought it looked like a primitive kanohi too, but LEGO only ever used it as an armor piece.
  3. Hey everyone! I'm new here, I just joined a week or two ago. I first got into Bionicle in 2006, with the Toa Inika, and I eventually discovered this site as a good Bionicle news site. I was too young to be on forums, though, but when Bionicle returned for 2015, I came to this site and finally made an account. I'm not really the creative type, so I don't draw or do comics. I don't MOC because I'm sorta obsessive compulsive and refuse to take apart my Bionicle (well, the Bionicle I have left; I regretfully donated most of them in 2012). I was always super fascinated by the lore and storyline, but I read very few of the serials on BionicleStory from 2008 onwards. I'm still looking for a username to keep. "FolkUkulele" is probably temporary.
  4. When I first got into Bionicle, I was confused about the distinction between the elements of "earth" and "stone". I see how "earth" is related more to underground things, like caves and crystals, while "stone" is more related to deserts and sand and boulders. Maybe they were once the same element, but two halves of the tribe diverged, one underground and the other into the desert, and they evolved into distinct tribes and distinct elements. I would hate to see Onua and Pohatu seitch elements or consolidated into one character. Stone is my favorite element, and I'd like to keep it the way it is. I honestly think the change from "air" to "jungle" is a petty, but I may just be a genwunner. Even though Lewa controls "jungle", he still flies around like a Toa of air would. Having "jungle" as an element makes G2 Bionicle more related to 2009 Bionicle, which I guess makes the return to Bionicle easier for more recent fans. Also, the fact that "air" is no longer an element is the main thing that keeps me from believing that G2 and G1 are related.
  5. 10. 2008 Matoran (I don't mind the new matoran build, but when those limb sockets break, you can't replace the limbs without buying a new set) 9. Gorast (for having the new one-piece limbs even though she wasn't a small set) 8. Mistika Gali and Onua (for lacking weapons besides their ghostblasters) 7. Hydruka (they were neat, but I would have preferred to have more Mahri matoran---they were my favorite matoran build) 6. Turaga Dume and Nivawk (Why does the Turaga look just like a matoran? And Nivawk is just too skinny) 5. Mutran and Vican (Couldn't they have new molds for their masks? The designers could have reused Antroz's or Reidak's mask for Vultraz, but he had a unique mold. In fact, Antroz got a new mask entirely in the Jetrax.) 4. Toa Mata Nui (for his awkward build---seriously, they should have used more influence from the 2008 Takanuva, but at least we get the golden Ignika) 3. Kazi (I love the voyatorian for their unique builds, but WHERE IS HIS HEAD?!) 2. 2007 Playsets (for having incorrect head molds for the minifigures. For example, the Nuparu figure uses Hahli's head mold even though Matoro and Kongu use head molds that LOOK EXACTLY LIKE Mahri Nuparu's mask. The 2006 playsets had the right head for every minifigure.) 1. Bionicle Stars (for being a disappointing end to the line; they could have used regular sized builds and taken some more characters from different years. It would have been nice to have a final Teridax set or a barraki or a vahki. The Stars only represent the years 2001, 2003, 2006, and 2009.)
  6. I'm looking forward to the creature-toa combination feature. It's like the Av-matoran and phantoka/mistika, but better. It'll certainly be better than the 2015 toa powered up with their Protectors' gear.
  7. Island of myst'ry An endless ocean surrounds Nature and machine
  8. Pohatu: Master of Stone My first ever Bionicle was Pohatu Nuva, which I bought at a Dollar General for $3 in 2006, so he's my favorite character. I was sort of tentative about getting back into Bionicle, because my mom convinced me to donate most of my collection to the Samaratin Center a few years ago. I just wish the G2 Pohatu wasn't the most nerfed of all the Toa. He has no shoulder armor, no additional armor on his left arm, and only one geared arm (even though he has two weapons). However, he's still my favorite---and I love how the boomerangs go on his feet like the G1 Pohatu's feet additions.
  9. My favorite Glatorian was Mata Nui. My first bionicle was a stone Bionicle, so I have a huge soft spot for the stone bionicle, and Mata Nui was the last good guy for stone (even though his element wasn't actually stone). My only problem with him is that the Kanohi Ignika comes as a helmet and not a mask, so it doesn't work for the older bionicle with mask connectors on their mouth. I do love the scarabax shield, though, because its design hearkens back to the old Three Virtues symbol.
  10. I'm having trouble deciding between 5, 9, and 10. 4 (the classic comic-style one) was one of my favorites, but I took it out because it only had one Toa, whereas the others I chose have all six. 5: I like the giant Vahi and the colored Toa comets all oconverging on the sparkly object in the center, which I guess is the Mask of Creation. That visual set up really makes the Journey to One seem real. 9: I like the increidble detail put into this, I just want to know why is the Mask of Creation shattered? The assymetreical balance is strong with this one. 10: I like the cosmic feel to this one. It reminds me of Solis Magna. This one is very balanced.
