  1. Thanks. I may not have to do it now that I think about, but it's good to know these things anyway.
  2. There's nothing wrong with going back and editing part of a character's profile to go more into detail about an aspect of their personality, right? It probably isn't but I wanted to make sure because this kinda stuff always makes me nervous even after re-reading the rules.
  3. IC: "Now," Gothicus said, "pay me." The small audience that had gathered around him, most-likely outsiders who weren't aware of Gothicus' "legacy", seemed incredulous. One pointed out that Gothicus' story wasn't even finished. "It's intermission," the Po-Matoran lied as he started to slink away, "I'm just getting a drink." He headed over to the bar and sat down. Geez, crowd gets tougher every year it seems.
  4. Yes, but more people would buy that combined set just to get Ekimu. The vibe I got was that you were implying that Kulta wouldn't have sold at all if he didn't come with a character so important to the story. I doubt that would have been the case had they been sold separately. Also, buying the set just for Ekimu, and not wanting Skull Grinder, seems like a waste of money to me. I think most people who have actually bought the set want both, or at least make use of Kulta through other means (like MOCing, to repeat myself). I'm not disagreeing entirely with the concept of them being separate sets, either, it's just your assumption that no one wants Skull Grinder and that Ekimu is the single, driving force behind everyone's purchase of the set. He may draw people to it, but if they were separate I don't think Kulta would be turned into a shelfwarmer or something. (and if the quoting gets messed up on this post too I swear...)
  5. Lord of Skull Spiders fulfilled the same role as Kulta, is he any different when it comes to importance? He was the villain of the week and would've been bought by MOC builders, too, whether he was packed with a main hero character or not. I don't think people would've just bought Ekimu and let Kulta fade into obscurity if they had been separate. (I tried quoting your post btw, and either I did something wrong or it glitched out on me)
  6. What do I do with a character that hasn't had any interaction or really done anything? Should I have put "open for interaction" on one of the posts? 'Cause I've already hit my limit. Sorry if this is a dumb question. :/
  7. OOC: Ugh, I need to some leaving certain posts open like that. Should've just made one post and gotten inside the cantina already. I'm awful. May just find an excuse to head to a different location. IC: Gothicus entered the cantina. "I'm baaack! Who wants to hear my newest story?" A collective groan followed, presumably. He took a seat, completely oblivious, with a smug look on his face as he prepared to recite his latest tale of excitement in the Po-Wahi deserts. OOC: Open for interaction, btw.
  8. IC: Gothicus found a shop. After spending some time bartering with its owner, and being kicked out for reasons we won't disclose, he decided that hey, he was thirsty. He headed for the cantina. Maybe that would go better. Maybe.
  9. OOC: Hm. :/ IC: Deciding he needed to stop being mysterious about his name, Gothicus entered Po-Koro. Now to find the nearest shop. And maybe have a drink, or two.
  10. OOC: Should've just used the 12 hour rule earlier. (there's no one in this topic at all right now, is there) IC: Realizing he needed supplies for...something, whatever he does out there in the Po-Wahi wilds, he headed to Po-Koro.
  11. Looks really nice, but the Takadox skull seems a little out of place, and looking at the torso a bit more closely it seems like it didn't need to be there. Although, without it, there would be a gap between the chest and the neck, so...maybe not. Using Mata feet as the thighs is interesting but it looks a little gappy. Gah, that sounded too negative, didn't it? :/ It's cool. I love the colors and the torso build looks pretty neat.
  12. IC: Somewhere, near Po-Koro, a figure walked, whistling to himself. OOC: Am I doing it right?
  13. is making this my first post a good idea or Name: Gothicus, The Liar (INACTIVE) Gender: Male Species: (Po-)Matoran Mask: Kanohi Pehkui Alignment: Good, but has begun to lean towards neutral Weapon(s): A small knife Appearance: Slightly tall for a Matoran. His armor is yellow and black, and is somewhat weathered due to spending much time in Po-Wahi's deserts. Weakness(es): Has a limp from an accident he doesn't like to talk about. Lies a lot. Personality: Usually upbeat, but has a habit of lying, as mentioned above, and may become slightly upset if called out on it. His main reason for lying is harmless: he mostly just wants people to think he's more interesting than he actually is. Sometimes, however, he may lie to get money. Either way, at first glance, he may come off as untrustworthy. History: Gothicus is something else. He once fought a Rahi bigger than a boat, and won! ...supposedly. In reality, Gothicus has a pretty mundane history. What it is, no one knows. He's too busy telling impossible tales instead, leaving many bewildered and not as impressed as he hoped they'd be. All that's known is that he's lived in Po-Wahi all his life, and is a drifter, never staying in the same place for too long. Name: Kaen Tullnor, The Loaded Gun Gender: Male Species: Toa Element: Air Mask: Volitak Alignment: Lawful Good Weapon(s): A longsword; also carries a dagger for close combat Appearance: He has dark and lime green armor. His mask, chest and shoulder armor are silver. It's not uncommon to see bits of grass, vines, and even flowers caught in his armor, "keepsakes" from Le-Wahi. (actually from falling out of trees, and other accidents) Personality: A bit foolish and brash. He means well, though. Most of the time, at least. Sees the world as black and white, and that specific actions are what label you "hero" or "villain". Weakness(es): Prone to accidents, and starting fights. Has difficulty trusting those that seem even vaguely "evil" or act suspicious to him. Wants to be the leader, no matter what. History: Years ago, during the time of Makuta, Kaen decided he would become a paragon of justice, and one-up the First Toa after they failed. ...this didn't happen, obviously, what with the Toa Maru and all, and he instead got lost wandering about the Le-Wahi jungle while training to become a "true hero". When he emerged, he found that Makuta had fallen and the island was now quite different. Nevertheless, he still wants to become a "true hero", and protect those who need protecting. Even if they don't want him to. Name: Datrox Karvan, the Drifter Gender: Male Species: Toa Element: Fire Mask: Huna Alignment: Good Weapon: A large, black sword he calls an "obsidian blade" Appearance: Wears sleek dark (Metru) red and black armor and a black cloak. His Huna has a retractable blue visor which usually conceals his orange eyes. Recently acquired a wide-brimmed kane-ra skin hat that I doubt he'll be taking off anytime soon. Giddyup. MOC: http://imgur.com/a/JLLvq (missing cloak because I don't have an irl equivalent and his sword) Personality: Very reserved and prefers to do things alone, but isn't adverse to working with others at times. Very charismatic and sarcastic. Wants to be remembered, but also wishes the world would just go away sometimes. History: At some point in his life, the wanderer known as Datrox Karvan became a Toa. A lone wolf with no home, he doesn't stay in one place for very long. He may appear in Le-Koro one day, and then show up in Ga the next looking for the nearest inn. According to some, his preference towards working alone prooobably comes from a botched attempt at forming a Toa team in his past...but that's just hearsay, alright? He may have met Kaen at some point. Ask him about it--he'll probably call him a few names. Not very nice ones. Recently he's formed a group called the "Vanguard" which currently consists of him and two others. Perhaps he isn't so keen on working alone anymore. Other abilities: Fairly agile, and quick, mostly thanks to his armor. Weakness(es): While his armor does up his agility a bit, it also means that he's less protected. Has a habit of getting in over his head with certain things. Theme (yes I'm doing these now): Departure (Mythos ver.) from Megaman Zero 2. Name: Ranir Havesh, The Stranger in a Strange Land Gender: Female Species: Araka Alignment: Neutral Element: Teleport Weapon(s): A knife with the words "God Only Knows" engraved on it; a crossbow Appearance: Per her element, Ranir's armor is aqua blue, with some darker shades in there. She wears spiked gauntlets, and an unusable Miru attached to her helmet that she discovered upon arriving on Mata Nui. Her actual helmet is sleek, with large round eyeholes and a removable mouthplate. Her armor covers her entire body, and combined with her mask gives her the appearance of a Toa, but with really weird legs. Her eyes are a lime green. MOC: http://i.imgur.com/PS9eXhm.jpg Personality: Bubbly and excitable, despite where she came from. History: Unknown, mostly because she avoids talking about it. Fresh start, and all that. Abilities: Fairly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and is quite the marksman with her crossbow. Her element allows her to teleport, but only to places she can see or remember clearly. Weakness(es): Easily distracted; is incredibly unfamiliar with the island. Name: Ayna Vershak Gender: Female Species: Matoran Alignment: Chaotic Good Element: Earth Mask: Noble Matatu Weapon(s): A pocketknife Appearance: Her armor is light, and is black with purple accents. Her eyes are probably the first thing you'd notice about her since they're a bright red, an eye color one would probably expect from a stereotypically evil being. They're actually lenses and her real eye color is green, but she feels red makes her look more imposing. Which doesn't really work since she's pretty darn cute, and not very threatening. Personality: Tries to act serious and tough, but in reality is incredibly nice to those she knows. History: "Who cares?" Weakness(es): Her light armor means she won't be taking part in any fights any time soon; her height
