  1. --IC: Viis-- "Yes, I'm sure," Viis replied, a little snippier than she meant to. "I can't just sit around my house and do nothing now that I can't see. I want to do something with my life; something that I believe will positively impact the island. before the accident, that was science; now, it's Unseen Fighting." Her tone as she said these things revealed her determination to go through with her plans. "Although... I'm still not entirely sure about it," she continued.
  2. --IC: Gairu-- "That's three. You two Matoran had better pipe up, or we'll be forced to drink your share of the bottle ourselves."
  3. --IC: Viis-- Viis sipped her hard cherry cola. Ah, that was good stuff. "Since I can't do science anymore," she told Thel, "I've decided to practice the Unseen Fighting. It's a combat style for blind people. I feel like I should still contribute something positive to society even though I can't do my old job anymore, and with the rumors I've been hearing about Ko-Koro's influx of brigands, I feel like combat training is a good way to make that contribution, y'know? Keep the scum of the island in check."
  4. Is it sad if all the friends you feel really close to are people you only know on the Internet?

I've never read a definition of friendship that requires face-to-face interaction.

  5. --IC: Gairu-- "Sweet. It's great to meet you all. I can tell we're going to have an awesome time together. Come on, let's celebrate our alliance with a bottle of good ol' bubbly! I'll buy, if all of us are allowed to drink, that is," said Gairu, looking cheerfully at Ayna and Biotron as if to assure them that he was only joking. --OOC:-- Achievement Get! I joined an alliance! +25 GamerScore to me!
  6. --IC: Viis-- "I'll have a hard cherry cola. Low ice."
  7. --IC: Viis-- "No, I wasn't a dentist. Why is it that people who see me in my lab coat automatically assume that I'm a dentist? Can they please stop? I've been called a dentist too many times in my life." After pausing from her little vent, Viis continued, "I used to be a scientist. I studied the animals and plants here, and sometimes mixed chemicals from them together. Word to the wise, Thel: don't combine Ruki pheromones with lily pad buoyancy compounds. They don't go well together; in fact, they explode. That's how I got this," she added, gesturing to her blindfold.
  8. --IC: Viis-- "No, it's not my way of picking up boys," Viis jested back. "Anyway, I don't need boys when I'm married to the job... Or, I was married to the job, until... Y'know."
  9. --IC: Gairu-- Gairu grinned in kind. "I assume Ayna's this little black Matoran?" he asked, placing his hand on her head playfully.
  10. --IC: Viis-- Viis felt an arm wrap around hers and a male voice say, "Hey. Need a hand?" "Yes, please," she replied, dropping her sign and letting the person guide her. After a moment of silence, she said, "Hi. I'm Viis. What's your name?" --OOC:-- Sup, Wade.
  11. --IC: Gairu-- "Well, I know what comes next for me, that's for sure," Gairu said. Turning to Kultax, he said, "You know, Kultax, since I met you guys, I've had about the best fifteen minutes I've had since I fought that Rahi. I can tell there's not really a dull moment with you guys. I guess what I'm saying is... D'you wanna form an alliance or something? Can I join your squad?"
  12. --IC: Gairu-- Gairu let out a long breath, calming himself down. "Sorry," he said sheepishly. He held out his hand to Biotron in apology.
  13. --IC: Gairu-- Oh gosh. Biotron was back. "Who knew that making reasonable questions could get someone hurt. By the way, were you all mugged by him?" "First off," Gairu growled, "asking reasonable questions didn't get anyone hurt. It was your harassing the orange-and-white guy that got us into this mess. And no, we weren't mugged by him; he panicked and lashed out in fear." He shook his head. "What's your DEAL, Biotron? What beef have you got against that guy?!" he shouted, shoving Biotron against the wall angrily. Now the brown horned dude was mocking him. "Did I not say things would escalate if you joined in? And did things not just escalate? It's not a success when there's a very real chance things could have gone so much better." He smirked. That smirk was infuriating. "Oh, shut up, Horns," Gairu growled.
  14. --IC: Gairu-- Gairu deactivated his sonic powers; his armor stopped glowing. Now he was able to gauge how much that plasma burn on his shoulder hurt. He started rubbing it, trying to ease the pain a bit. The brown dude with horns was out here now. "I feel like this is an 'I told you so' moment," he said. "Oh, you didn't tell me so," Gairu responded. "Anyway, the fight's over, and nobody's dead. I'd call that a success." Noticing Kultax's wounded leg, he pulled up two chairs from the patio, sat Kultax in one, and propped his leg up with the other. "Here. Let's get you off that leg. You OK?" --OOC:-- I'm silver, Invisible Noob.
  15. --IC: Gairu-- "Whoa!" Gairu ducked to the right in an attempt to dodge the orange-and-white guy's plasma burst. He got out mostly unscathed, save a plasma burn on his shoulder. Standing up, he prepped his sonic powers, blue and green armor details glowing as he did so. He didn't know if he'd need to use them, but it would help to have them ready just in case. --OOC:-- Whoops. I guess I didn't read far enough back. I'll fix my earlier post. Sorry.
  16. --IC: Gairu-- "Suit yourself, brown dude." Gairu got up from the table and headed outside, where he saw Biotron in Kultax's grip, the orange-and-white guy shivering, and the little black Matoran advancing on the orange-and-white guy with her knife. There was another knife on the ground in front of the orange-and-white guy; Gairu assumed that he had dropped it. Gairu tried to shove his way into the situation to break things up. "Hey now, hey now, no need for knives here. Can't we settle this like reasonable folks?"
  17. "Sure, Greg! Go ahead and reveal my real name. Nobody's going to hate you for it!" "Toa" Ignika
  18. --IC: Gairu-- The brown-armored guy with horns that had been sitting with Kultax and Biotron earlier came up to sit at Gairu's table. "Sorry about the others," he said. "They seem to have a tendency to get into fights." "Heck yeah they have a tendency to get into fights," Gairu replied. "Wanna go outside and help me make sure nobody dies?" He had heard yelling and vague snatches of "Don't chop him up!" coming from just outside the door, and he didn't want anything bad to happen to the guys he had just met. --OOC:-- Sup, Invisible Noob.
  19. --IC: Gairu-- "OK. Hurry back," Gairu said, watching Kultax leave the restaurant. Then, after a brief moment, he glanced over at the black Matoran that had come over earlier, jerked his chin in a nod, and said, "Hey."
  20. --IC: Gairu-- "Nah, it's cool. It was probably my fault for starting this whole thing. I shoulda known that trying to reason with him wouldn't work. But hey, that's life. Live and learn."
  21. --IC: Gairu-- "I'd hardly call Turaga useless. They bless our island with wisdom. You'd do well to listen to one of them; you obviously need some wisdom."
  22. --IC: Gairu-- "What am I?" Gairu asked. "I'm not insane, that's for sure." --OOC:-- Shots fired.
  23. --IC: Viis-- Clatter. The sound of another Kunai missing the target and sliding across the floor. Viis sighed. This was not going well. Not well at all. Though it was her first day practicing Unseen Fighting, she reasoned. She couldn't expect to be good at it on her first day. She drew what she thought was another Kunai and threw it. Crash. The sound of glass being broken. That was a test tube, not another Kunai. Viis stamped her foot in frustration. For five hours, she had been practicing throwing Kunai, trying to hit a target. She had only succeeded once, and that had barely stuck to the outer ring of the target. She needed a break. A loooong break. Feeling the walls of her house, she groped her way to the door, opened it, and grabbed the sign she kept under the coat rack as she exited. She held it up, revealing the slightly crude words written on it: "Pls Guide Me To The Nearest Bar." --OOC:-- Viis is officially Open For Interaction. Won't someone please guide her to the nearest bar?
  24. --IC: Gairu-- Gairu chuckled. This red guy really was completely insane, if he thought that nobody could harm him because he was "invisible." "Invisible, are you?" said Gairu. "Then if nobody can see you, how come I can see you well enough to know that you look weird?"
  25. --IC: Gairu-- Gairu covered his ears as the red guy shouted at the top of his lungs, "IT WAS BECAUSE HE LOOKS WEIRD!" He could see the target of that rude remark, the orange-and-white guy, cringe as the red guy threw the insult at him. Once the yelling had stopped, Gairu replied in a perfectly reasonable tone, "OK, so you think he looks weird. I think you look weird, yet you don't see me throwing insults across the room at you. That's because it's not a nice thing to do. I'd suggest that you start doing the nice thing, like me, before somebody throws something at your head. And by somebody, I mean me." That sinister grin was back. --OOC:-- Sup, McCree.
