  1. Everyone makes excellent points regarding this, but I'd like to add that only six Rahkshi were really relevant in 2003. If Lego made 42 sets, then there would be six in higher demand and THIRTY-SIX in lower demand that Lego has to produce and retailers have to stock. They could probably increase the prices for the six by a little bit so the cost-conscious parents would buy up more of the 36, but we're still talking about THIRTY-SIX sets. That just wouldn't be feasible.
  2. I don't see anything inherently sound-like about blue. Keep in mind that Sonic was named as such to evoke the sonic barrier (because he's fast, not directly because he's loud) and was colored blue because he was designed as a cool hedgehog. There's not a direct correlation between the concept of sonics and the color blue. Because silver was the primary color for all the Bohrok-Kal and the designers decided to confine themselves to the original primary colors of the Bohrok for the secondary colors of the Bohrok-Kal, but there were perhaps better ways to assign colors to the elements if they weren't working within those constraints.
  3. That checks out too. The Bahrag seem more lizard-like. Like the British royal family.
  4. ngl "chicken-like robotic destroyers" is actually a pretty apt term for Bohrok.
  5. That would be sad. It looked like they saved all the gifs for the page, so maybe back then they still thought gifs were integral to site layout but jpegs were too big for them to save. I had saved quite a few jpegs from the Bionicle website when I was a kid, but I don't think I have anything you're looking for specifically. A lot of them were wallpapers from the Kanoka Club.
  6. I found the Gali Nuva bio page on the Wayback Machine. https://web.archive.org/web/20030207234300/http://www.lego.com:80/eng/bionicle/characters.asp?charid=galinuva The images weren't loading for me, although that might just be down to luck.
  7. I remember having fun with mine, although I think the plastic broke really easily.
  8. These could probably be classified as teasers or otherwise to build demand. The rest of them might be due to production or scheduling issues.
  9. It's an hour past 8 and I too feel I'm in the mood to move on.
  10. My grandma got me and my brother this set and another similar one once. I thought they were a ripoff of Bionicle. While trying to find them again, I discovered that they also sold them in Brazil, possibly without the Mega Blocks branding. I may have stumbled upon a whole lineage of ripoffs.
  11. I'm afraid that by merely posting in this thread you have already become embroiled in the controversy. As a famous Canadian philosopher once said, "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
  12. That may be, but you can never really make assumptions about what your audience is going to understand.
  13. Is this for 3D models? I didn't understand the project so I Googled "studio models" and I got results about 3D modeling but also stuff like pic related so I thought "maybe this is a collection of glamour shots for Bonkles in a really obscure image format."
  14. Possibly, but cap said the purpose of the thread is to "to talk about why the very thing you're proposing doesn't need to happen in the first place," which implies that they only want people who agree with them posting.
  15. That's a sign of being unable to cope with people with differing perspectives than yours.
  16. I just thought of something wrt this. You're not going to make it as any kind of content creator if you're thin skinned and react defensively to criticism. Personally, you shouldn't let other people's hostility make you become hostile. On top of that, if you're in creative work and you have emotional or instinctive responses to critics it's going to mess with you too much. I'm not defending people who are hostile. I'm saying all this because I've dealt with people like that in the past and have let my instincts or emotions dictate my responses, when I should have stayed calm or just stayed with my original vision.
  17. Wasn't G2 itself a reinvention of Bionicle? What exactly is wrong with G2, in your view?
  18. I feel you've got the wrong audience for that. The general public consumes a franchise, they don't need to be educated on how to reboot a franchise.
  19. I'm not really following. Are you doing that to look for investors?
  20. Why does the public need to be schooled on this?
