  1. If there had been more time in 2009 and 2010, I would've loved to see a few new Toa rise in the resistance against Teridax. It might be a bit extreme, but it would've been interesting to see a sort of failsafe's failsafe: that is, a Toa team whose destiny was not simply to revive Mata Nui, or to awaken him, but actively resist Teridax should he achieve his destiny in the worst way (which was the case). We saw hints of it during the 2009 and 2010 serials, but those stories did feel a bit more piecemeal, since they were never the true focus of the year's plot. Basically, I would've loved to see old Matoran characters take charge of the resistance by becoming Toa with explicitly anti-Teridax powers. It's a bit silly I guess, but it would've been neat if 2009's story had been able to split focus between the Glatorians and these hypothetical resistance fighters.
  2. I'd love to see a new rush of life, especially of young people. BZP was a fantastic haven for me when I was a child (eleven years ago, would you believe?), and I'd love to see this place extend that opportunity to a new generation. Plus, I'd love to see how the newbies would react to us old fartbags who've lingered here for five years or more .
  3. I'd have to go with the Winter line-ups, for much of the same reasons mentioned above. Since the Summer lines were usually Toa, and thus pre-established characters, they were neat but already expected and understood. Nothing could really match the speculative fires fueled by the villain line-ups, which was always the most exciting part of the year (except perhaps for story climaxes).
  4. Don't know if you still need this, but here you go: Both the asari seem ridiculously fun.
  5. Even though I'm no longer so active on BZP (in fact, this is my first post to the site in months), your works are one of my fondest memories of the site, GaliGee. Tangled Web is perhaps the only story I can remember clearly from my days in the BZP Library. It might not mean much now, but back then, whenever I'd reach the end of the latest chapter, still riding the high of excitement of actually reading a new chapter, I'd just be so infuriated (light-hearted fury, of course): how dare you leave us hanging! And finally getting to the ending, and realizing that this was the end of a journey and an emotional thrill ride...Well, this is nothing more than what you've heard from your readers and fans before, so I'll wrap up. The sheer effort, creativity, and love you put into your stories made a site and community I love all the better. Tangled Web was magnificent. And I know (like the rest of BZP does) that Drawn to Danger will be just as fantastic a thrill ride as that was. Thank you for sharing this with us, GaliGee.(And sorry if I came off a little too sappy... )
  6. Made mine in MS Paint. It's supposed to be a phoenix, which--obviously--is a reference to my username.
  7. Well, I actually found my interest in BZP renewed... only to find the site hacked. I must admit, seeing a place I loved down because of some hacker was quite... intense, I suppose. So, yeah, I ended up hounding the archive for memories, and decided to make my umpteenth return to BZP.
  8. Seeing Kohaku distracted by helping Nujanii, Guardian froze him within the snowbank, before picking up the now-solid block of ice with his telekinesis, preparing to hurl it at Nujanii.
  9. This seems like a fun way to get involved with BZP once again... Name: GuardianWeapon: Automated saw blade shield, protosteel katanaPower 1: Elemental icePower 2: Momentary intangibilityPower 3: Kanohi Matatu, Mask of TelekinesisAppearance: An ordinary Toa of Ice, with battered white and dull grey armor, wrapped in an all-concealing cloak.
  10. Started working through the EU novels. I went through both the Thrawn Trilogy and the Hand of Thrawn duology; any suggestions for what to read next? Zahn is supposedly the best of the EU writers, so I'm hesitant to continue.
  11. Yup, the humor and drama are very well done. Vaarsuvius vs. Xykon was epic and serious, while somehow hilarious at the same time. That takes talent.
  12. The Downtime. Or the Interim. Or the Interruption of Our Usual Programming. Yeah, catchy names are not my thing.
  13. The question is: is it worth it? We all know Nintendo will debut a 3DS remake eventually, and considering the noticeable improvement from the original DS to the DS Lite last generation, the current 3DS seems especially unsatisfying. Though I'm almost certainly going to get one eventually, for KH3D and the inevitable 3D Pokemon game, I'm still not convinced the current model is worth buying.
  14. Watched a handful of popular anime in the interim, though the only one that really stuck was the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Finally seeing the English dub of Disappearance was excellent, though it is a bit odd after months of only having seen the original. On Rebuild 3.0:
  15. Based on your second edit, it seems like you got most of the 'main' storyline, i.e. the ones involving the sets, told via the Scholastic books, comics and movies. Most of what you missed (such as the de-mutation of the Hagah) are from what could tentatively be called 'supplemental' materials--mostly serials and the like from bioniclestory.com. Since that's actually colossal amount of information (roughly four years worth of serials), BS01 is definitely the war to go.
  16. Seventh birthday, 2001: Tahu, Lewa and Pohatu. I remember being distinctly disappointed that I couldn't build the cool combiner in the back of the manual, so Onua, Kopaka, and Gali followed soon after.
  17. It's different, but... it's still BZP. Plus the new modern features are quite neat (though I'm probably not going to use them myself). All in all: change is good. Thanks to the staff for all their work and dedication!
  18. Well, only one thing to say: welcome back! I've missed Bionicle a lot, and BZP's return will definitely help.
  19. Well, considering I was barely on BZP to begin with, I just moved to a different forum for the interim. Of course, now that BZP's back, I'm definitely going to be active here as well.
  20. A pseudo-apology to the players of BC3, in the form of new and more powerful classes: BC3 Addition: Breaker and Alchemist So like Brawler and Caster months ago, Breaker and Alchemist are another attempt at shaking up gameplay in BC3. While the former two were mainly an attempt to introduce more unusual fighting styles, these two new classes focus on different stat combinations, and an accompanying play style. Let's look at each one separately. Breaker: Breakers focus on Offense and Defense, with average HP and Speed. Breakers are very nearly a blend of Shooter and Defender: powerful tanking capabilities, and great offensive techniques. Throw in a few debuffing moves, and Breakers can dominate in PvP. But it's better to show rather than tell, right ? Here's their base stats and starting moves. Stats: HP: 15 Offense: 6 Defense: 6 Speed: 3 Abilities: Break (Attack, w/ 50% chance of inflicting Break status for 3 turns; Cooldown 4) Target Lock (Attack for 0.5x Damage, but gives user Critical status for 3 turns; Cooldown 5) Punishment (1+???x Damage: every Ability on Cooldown and buff on target increases move damage by 50%; Cooldown 6) Depowering Strike (Attack; cancels Empower; Cooldown 4) Juggernaut (Multiplies Speed and Offense by 1.2x, but can only use Techniques until voluntarily disabled; Cooldown 10) Techniques: Elemental Blade (Standard Attack; 20% chance of element's status) Grand Lunge (Fearsome two-strike combo w/ 80% accuracy; first strike grants Break to target OR debuff all stats by 20% if already present; second strike grants Critical to user OR buffs all stats by 20% if already present; Charge 3) Empower+ (Empowers self with elemental energy, for increased elemental damage and random stat by 1.2x; Charge 2) As you can see, Breakers can 'break' a player's offensive capability: the ideal combo of Grand Lunge, Break, and Target Lock can cripple enemies and leave the user in a position of immense power. Punishment is exactly what it says: constantly using either simply makes it stronger. Since many of you end up using all four of your Abilities in a row, often with Empower, Punishment can inflict up to 3.5x (1 + 5*0.5) weapon damage, without calculating stats. And if Punishment isn't a smart move, you can always take away a useful advantage with Depowering Strike, while Empower+ gives yourself a powerful advantage. Of course, should two Breakers fight, who knows what could happen... And of course, many of the strategies players use aren't as common to NPCs, reducing Breakers' effectiveness against them. Alchemist: Neya inspired this one: a jack-of-all-trades class. While Alchemist isn't strictly that (it does focus on Speed and HP), it has a far greater variety of options available. Alchemists can theoretically do anything, but feature an element of chance to balance. Here are their base stats and moves: Stats: HP: 25 Offense: 3 Defense: 3 Speed: 6 Abilities: Chaos Potion (45% chance of reducing all enemy stats by 20%, 45% chance of inflicting random status effect, 5% chance both, 5% chance neither; Cooldown 5) Harmony Potion (60% chance of buffing one ally/self's stats by 20%, 35% chance of buffing all allies stats by 20%, 5% chance neither; Cooldown 6) Blast Potion (40% chance 1.5x Damage, 30% chance 2.5x Damage, 20% chance 1x Damage, 10% chance 0x Damage; Cooldown 4) Healing Potion (50% chance 25% max HP heal on target, 20% chance 25% max HP heal on all allies, 20% chance full heal on one target, 5% chance Elixir effect, 5% chance Megalixir effect; Cooldown 6) Mix and Match (40% chance of activating two random Potions, 40% chance of badly poisoning oneself, 20% chance of forming Nova Potion; Cooldown 10) Techniques: Alchemist Smash (Standard Attack; 20% chance of element's status) Nova Potion (Extremely volatile combination of materials; 40% chance 2x Damage to all allies, 60% chance 4x Damage; Charge 2) This is essentially a novice Alchemist: it can buff, debuff, deal damage, or heal, but with very little control over the final effect. However, don't discount its power: Healing Potion can be the most powerful heal in the game because it's based on the target, not the user's weapon. Harmony Potion has a 95% chance of buffing one target; the chances only matter in a party. Essentially, the reason this Alchemist features so much chance is to make it powerful enough to be viable, while not too game breaking. A fully-trained Alchemy Master in Tier 2 will have full control over each potion, but at that level will be less directly powerful compared to other Tier 2 Classes. Thoughts? Issues? Balance ideas? Please post in the comments!
  21. Possibly, although considering the power gap from you and Neya to everyone else, it might be difficult: those were for live players only, remember? Or I could just throw in lots of excessively powerful NPCs .
  22. Still working on it ; it's not a priority since you're not even Tier 2 yet. I'm stuck between just keeping it at 8 choices (like Tier 2), but stronger, or having more, with not much distinction between them. Lemme get back to you in a few months ...
  23. Exactly what it says: as long as you have the item fused with that ability equipped, that ability is added to your character's moveset. If you fuse Weaponsoul into your weapon, then your character gains the Ability Soul Bond. There's nothing extremely unique about the Unforged Weapon, but give it all the Item Boosts and certain other materials, and it eventually becomes the Ultima Weapon (although you don't get all the right materials until Rank 9 ).
  24. Knew I forgot something. I've been adding a few things to the shops now and again, but Kanohi still have to be updated. Off to fix that...
