  1. Just entered my votes for this round. I saw the results so far are virtually unchanged from the midway review that was posted a few days ago, and also that for the bonus round of best Tahu, every option has gotten votes (though some have definitely gotten much more than others).
  2. I still haven't yet gotten around to casting my votes yet. Hopefully, I'll find some time for it at some point later this week. Anyway, interesting to see the results, thus far.
  3. Well, now that I know what the next GWP set is (an off-road ambulance for the City theme, available for spending $100 on anything), I now don't regret my most recent purchase quite as much, because I'm not interested in obtaining that one at all. There will be plenty more opportunities to get double VIP points, and I've already got just about everything I was interested in, at least among the things that are currently available. Let's just say I've got quite a few sets on my wishlist that won't be available until next month, so I'll have plenty to choose from if another GWP set later this year catches my interest.
  4. Double VIP points being offered this coming weekend? I just made another purchase just yesterday. I thought I was done looking like a fool over these things, but nope... What made me so impatient yesterday? Well, first of all, no, I was not attempting to get a third Tahu & Takua set. Two reasons, actually. First, there were a few things I wanted to get ahead of last Christmas, but couldn't get them because they were already out of stock at the time, and when I recently noticed they were back in stock, I didn't want to miss out on those things again. And second reason, among the VIP rewards, one that just became available this month is a special set that can only be obtained by spending some VIP points (specifically, World of Wonders for 2700 points). I found that set interesting as it's been a while since I got any Architecture sets that I liked, but since I could not find anything specifying how long that set would be available for, I ultimately decided the sooner the better. And so, I redeemed the points to get that set (don't worry, I've still got plenty more points in my account), and since I needed to buy something else to get that special set included, I decided to go for all of those other things I couldn't get earlier but were available now. And since the order just started shipping today, it's too late to cancel it, so it looks like I'll just have to accept that I once again got just a little too impatient...
  5. From what I'm getting with the last two posts, it seems that when Bionicle was cancelled, it left a void in terms of an interesting storyline across multiple forms of media, a void that was quickly filled by the the next new theme with a strong story, which just so happened to be Ninjago. I think a key indicator for what made Bionicle and Ninjago so huge comes down to how their main storyline was first presented. For Bionicle in 2001, it was an interactive online game. For Ninjago in 2011, it was the TV series. Kind of makes you wonder how much more staying power Bionicle could've had if it had been given a TV series from the very first year. Also, once that void was filled by that one big theme, it became very difficult for another new theme to become just as big or even come close to it. I remember later themes like Legends of Chima and Nexo Knights were attempts to replicate the success of Ninjago, but both of them were cancelled after just two or three years. I'm willing to bet that if either of those two themes had been introduced when Ninjago was, it's possible they could've been more successful. Let's also not forget, Ninjago was originally intended to last for only two years, but was quickly revived and continued due to popular demand. In my opinion, it was simply a matter of excellent timing that made Ninjago so much bigger than other original themes that came out later.
  6. Not a bad effort, but I wouldn't quite call it accurate due to the symbols not aligned correctly. Specifically, the parts that are shown here in blue should line up between adjacent sides (at least, that's what I recall should be a correct depiction of the Nuva Cube). From what I can see at this angle, the Lewa Nuva symbol should be rotated 180 so that it aligns with the Tahu Nuva symbol, and then the Gali Nuva symbol should be rotated 90 so that it aligns with the Lewa Nuva symbol. Not sure about the other symbols since I can't see them, but maybe you might be able to figure them out from there.
  7. Not seeing any news stating there's a Twitch Tuesday stream this week, so I assume it really is on indefinite hiatus. Hopefully, it won't be too long before we hear any news about when it might be back.
  8. Interesting list. Of these sets, the ones I already own are City's Lunar Space Station (along with the other three sets in that space series) and Classic's 90 Years of Play and Space Mission (along with a bunch of older Classic sets). I've already mentioned my plan to buy the Build Together set from the Classic theme, and I recently got interested in a couple other City sets not listed here, and if I throw in a few baseplates from the Classic theme to get over that $100 threshold for both options, I could possibly get two of the Bionicle Tahu & Takua sets. However, I'm beginning to think that might not be possible, because I recently noticed one of the conditions of the currently active gift-with-purchase set (which just so happens to be ending today) is a strict limit of only one per household. If that restriction applies to this Bionicle set, then I assume that would mean if I attempted to make a second purchase over $100, I might not qualify for the Bionicle set again. I guess I'll have to wait until Friday to see the official conditions before I decide whether or not to go through with that second $100 purchase.
  9. As I had once mentioned over on the discord channel, I was holding off on buying the $100 Classic set "Build Together" specifically for the opportunity to get this special Bionicle set, so I'm all set for that. I would also like to mention that after having a rather fun experience a few weeks ago with the "Mars Spacecraft Exploration Missions" set from the City theme, I'm starting to consider getting the other two "missions" City sets (due to the unique system of building that actually encourages you to come up with your own creations at various points in the build process). That would be a total of $80, so if I include some baseplates from the Classic theme, that could also get me over $100. If I decide to go through with these purchases (and make sure they're made in separate orders), I could potentially find myself with two of these Tahu & Takua Bionicle sets.
  10. Not too bad for this week's stream. At least you finally got the achievement for using all of Jack Jack's powers. All minikits collected in two more levels, and just two more left to go, along with their special achievements. And it's a good thing you apparently already got the level achievements for the levels you just completed, because you really didn't do well to avoid those goo cannons (then again, I suppose completing the final area by simply flying directly to the final platform might've made it easier, if you had to go for that achievement). As for the achievement for having Bob attack Gilbert, I'm afraid I've got some bad news. I just looked up another guide, and it seems that to unlock Bob, you'll need to collect that one minikit you've thus far failed to collect on the second level. So, yeah, not only is that missing minikit needed for the completion achievements, but also to unlock one of the characters needed for that other achievement. I honestly don't know what else to say except to maybe study a playthrough video and see if perhaps it's simply a matter of perfect timing. Well, we'll see how things go next week, but with that last minikit and the difficulty I'm anticipating with one of the remaining level specific achievements, I would not be surprised if you have to do one more stream the following week to finally complete the game.
  11. I have a feeling I might know what this is about. Unfortunately, that's just too early in the day for me to watch the livestream, so I'll probably just watch the video recording sometime later.
  12. Just submitted my my votes. Some were more difficult to decide than others (particularly option 15, as I would place both Takanuva and Ekimu in my top 10). And I'm glad we're able to see the full results so far after we submit our votes, since it's interesting to see which of my votes are among those that are currently leading. I also recorded my votes on the same document on which I had listed the ranks of all these options from 1 to 81, but I'll wait until after this round of voting is over before I share what my votes were.
  13. Interesting statistics, so far. I was curious about how the rankings of these sets compared as a whole, so I copied them all down into a complete list of 1-81. What I found notable on the list at first glance is that at the top are all the Toa Mata, then all the Toa Nuva, then all the Toa Metru, followed by a mix of everything else except for the Uniter Toa which are all near the bottom of the list. Since these ranks were made by how many people owned these sets, I found this list to be quite interesting for which ones were near the top and which ones were near the bottom. Anyway, I'll see if I can find some time this weekend to cast my votes.
  14. Let's also not forget about another Glatorian, Certavus from the ice tribe, who apparently passed away from "natural causes" at some point prior to the events we saw on Bara Magna in 2009.
  15. Sure was nice to see some of the Chima world, as well as have an opportunity to see that Chi ability in action, so that'll be useful to know when you find it in other areas. Some other gold bricks also required quite an interesting mix of different abilities, especially that last one which gave us a chance to see Unikitty's ability after missing out last month. For the next Lego Dimensions stream, there is now only one world (among the Year 1 content) you have yet to visit, and that's Wizard of Oz, and the only character available for that theme is the Wicked Witch, so I guess that'll be the pack you'll open next time. After that, I seem to recall you once mentioned an idea of just opening all remaining packs in one stream without doing any significant gameplay, so perhaps after exploring the Wizard of Oz world might be a good time to do that for the remaining Year 1 Fun Packs. Once all of those are out of the way, then you can either go back through the story levels to try collecting all the minikits and other stuff, or you could start going through some of the Year 2 special levels (I'd like to hear your opinion on that before I try to argue one way or the other). As for the Incredibles, just four more levels left to fully complete (plus that one minikit from an earlier level you struggled to get) until you reach 100% completion. I anticipate it'll take more than two more streams, depending on how much you're willing to keep trying on that missed minikit or that achievement for dodging airplane debris in one of the levels (which I can say from experience got very frustrating until I finally got it). After that game is complete, I recall that Lego Jurassic World had been the next game to play that I had suggested (unless if you recently got Lego Bricktales, in which case I would like to see that game next).
  16. This looks like a fun activity. Count me in! (Though I'm currently a little busy with other things, so I'll cast my votes a little later. Good thing the voting period lasts for an entire month.)
  17. Now here's one I was looking forward to seeing, and it does not disappoint. I really like how you included even the most subtle of details, such as the name tag hanging from his belt, the white undershirt visible only at the collar, the instructions in his hand, and the blue pen in his vest pocket, along with some additional references such as the tube of Krazy Glue in his other vest pocket and of course his Minifigure form hanging beside his name tag. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with for the other Lego Movie characters, as well as some characters from Lego City Undercover and others of interest.
  18. Two more levels fully completed, and three more achievements (including the one missed last week) unlocked, so good progress this week. I don't recall any particular difficulties with the next two levels (except perhaps for the achievement of the latter of the two levels, which I had some minor difficulty with and you somehow got it on your first try during story mode), so the next stream on this game shouldn't be too problematic, but I anticipate the last two levels could prove to be a little challenging in certain places. As for the achievement requiring one character attacking another, while neither of them are currently available, considering where in the story they appear, I think they will likely be unlocked after collecting the minikits in the very next level. As for next week's stream of Lego Dimensions, as I said previously, I think the next packs to open should be all three of the Legends of Chima fun packs, so that you can use the Chi Power ability no matter where they appear. Once that's taken care of, I believe the only ability not yet unlocked (at least among the Year 1 characters) is the one that involves shooting a target to create a swing pole, which can be done by either Legolas or Sensei Wu, so I would recommend later on that you should just open all of the remaining Year 1 fun packs in a single stream, after you've visited all 14 worlds of the Year 1 content. And thanks for informing us ahead of time that next week's stream might be a day later, depending on how things go.
  19. Not to point any fingers, but I seem to notice that only one staff member in particular ever seems to bother with enforcing the topic revival rule, so perhaps it might not be difficult to convince the rest of the staff that this forum these days could be better off without that old rule.
  20. Two more levels with all minikits collected, though quite unfortunate that the achievement in that second level somehow failed to activate for whatever reason. Hopefully, next week's progress will go a bit more favorably. Already done and fully completed years ago. Check the YouTube links at the very start of this topic, if you want to see how that went.
  21. This one actually looks pretty interesting, especially how the island can easily split apart into four sections, yet look like a single fully connected model when it's flat. How did I never notice this model when that Lego Ideas contest was ongoing?
  22. I was definitely aware of this. In fact, back when I started going through that rank prior to the more recent forum upgrade, I had noticed a glitch where some of the images failed to show up at all. Thankfully, I was able to figure out the source of that issue and explain it to Black Six so he could resolve it. However, I've recently come across another issue regarding these post ranks, likely as a result of the relatively recent forum upgrade. Basically, ranks used to be based on only your publicly displayed post count, but now ranks are determined by all posts everywhere (including the games and off topic sections that are not supposed to be included in your post count) and even PMs are also included in that tally towards successive ranks. (For example, my current rank of Exo-Armored Toa is supposed to be reached at 750 posts, and as you can see at the time I posted this, my publicly displayed post count is 748.) No word yet on what's being done about that, but at least I was able to inform Black Six once I realized that was happening, so there's nothing more I can do about it.
  23. Good progress this week. Two more levels finished with all minikits and their respective achievements. For the next two levels, I don't recall anything particularly difficult, so I expect next week's stream will probably go relatively smoothly. Not much else I have to say this week (except maybe yet another reminder to keep track of all of Jack Jack's powers used so far), so I'll just leave it at that.
  24. To be honest, I was quite excited to see the Lego Movie world and wanted to see you complete everything (or at least the things that were accessible with what you currently have available). The reason I had suggested researching how to find the Red Brick was because the guide I had checked specified only one way into those underground tunnels, but I guess we discovered several ways to get in there. As for the new characters, it was nice to see Emmet using his drill ability a lot, though we didn't really get a chance to see Unikitty work with rainbow bricks (but I'm sure an opportunity for that will come up soon enough). And with the Lego Movie world visited (thus getting the achievement for visiting the three worlds of the starter pack characters), that now leaves only two left to go among the Year 1 content; Legends of Chima, and Wizard of Oz. For next month's Lego Dimensions stream, I would recommend opening the Fun Packs for the Chima characters (Laval, Eris, and Cragger), since that's possibly the only remaining ability you've yet to unlock. I honestly don't care which of those three you decide to open (Eris can fly and Cragger can dive underwater, if you want anything particularly useful), though I would prefer opening all three of them, just to get them out of the way. I really enjoyed this week's stream, and will be looking forward to both next week's stream of Lego Incredibles and next month's stream of Lego Dimensions.
  25. A little progress done this week. At least you were able to confirm for this game that you don't need to actually complete the levels for the minikits you had collected to still count, so that should save some time over the next few streams. Good to see you got all the minikits in the first level and the level specific achievements in the first two levels, though unfortunate to get all but one minikit in the second level. (I did say I remember restarting some levels several times when I played this game, and now that it's starting to come back to me, I think this was one of those levels specifically because of that particular minikit. Since I can't really remember how exactly I eventually got it, I'm afraid I can't be of any further help on that.) Anyway, I've been saying for quite a few months now that the next packs you should open for Lego Dimensions are Emmet and Unikitty. Not only will they provide new abilities to use, but also the red brick to be found in the Lego Movie world is the minikit detector, which I'm sure you'll find useful. However, there's a bit of a process to actually finding that particular red brick, so you may want to search for a guide somewhere to help you out with it. Regardless, I'm definitely looking forward to next week's Lego Dimensions stream.
