  1. Would you be able to take a photograph of the tops of the Kraata? I would like to be able to tell which levels they are so that I know which ones I need. However, if you're unable to do that, here's a Kraata level chart for you:

    270px-Stages1sbw.jpg

Other than the Kraata, the following items are of interest to me:

    Kanohi & Kanohi Nuva

    • Trans. Clear w/ Glitter Avohkii
    • Black Akaku Nuva

    Krana

    • Purple Ca
    • Purple Bo
    • Orange Za
    • Orange Bo

I hope to hear back from you soon. :)

  2. So I think that the definition of serendipity happened to me yesterday.

I was talking in my clan chat on RuneScape as usual. Oddly enough, a lot of us in the clan are either current or former BIONICLE fans. It's really quite funny, considering that the clan is centered around RuneScape lore.

During a conversation, I brought up my BIONICLE Collection. A few have been asking me to post picture of my collection as well as my checklists on the forums. Which, eventually I did.

But the most surprising thing happened. A clan mate chimed in, "I don't really have any more BIONICLE cause I gave them to my sibling. The only thing I really have left is a gold mask that I won from a contest at LEGOLand."

Which, of course, hearing that made my ears perk up. Obviously, I questioned him about it and asked if he could post pictures of the Kanohi on the forums. Which, he did.

    c3d98c9187.jpg

    01851749a2.jpg

    c777dbed5c.jpg

These are the images that he provided.

He wanted to know if there was a process that he should follow-through to get the Kanohi validated as legitimate, especially after I told him the prospective worth of the 14K Gold Hau.

But overall, the best part about this is that realizing how rare this mask is made him realize just how lucky he was when he got it. I think that was the best part of being able to tell him "You have 1 of 30 of these Kanohi. This is the second most valuable BIONICLE collectible in existence."

  3. So now we know the full extent of the powers of a Rogue of Void. :U

To be honest, I always thought that her powers would end up being something like that. But the fact that she's gonna be using them to produce a Matriorb? Dang, gurl.

I feel like the abilities are a little OP though in terms of what she's able to do; she's basically able to self-alchemize anything she wants without having to pay Grist. Which.. is okay in some regards? But it's like... she can produce basically anything now if she wants to.

But whatever. I'm more curious to see what the difference is between a Rogue of Void and a Thief of Void. If a Rogue can conjure objects from thin air, can a Thief of Void steal items by sending them to the Void?

  4.

    >How up-to-date are the images in your Brickshelf of your Kanohi/Krana/Kraata? If they're current, I can tell you which ones I need easily. If not, I can send you my Checklists of what I need from each group and have you tell me which ones you have. :notsure:

Those images are very out of date, so I think you had better send me a list. I have absolutely no kraata left, somebody came and bought them all off me a while back. I still have a few green and blue kanohi nuva and a few krana/krana-kal though. I also have an extra red hau mata, a silver hau mata, a red mask of strangth, and a silver and gold mask of speed for pohatu mata. That's about it though.

    Ahhh darn. :P

Well, my Kanohi Wants can be found here, and my Krana/Krana-Kal Wants can be found here. The unfilled white circles are the ones I need. :D

  5. So a while back, I started working on some newer versions of the checklists that were created for all of the BIONICLE collectibles that we've seen so far. The main gripe that I had with the older variants was that they were saved as .jpg, which meant that the quality was reduced significantly, and it made it difficult do do one-click bubble filling with the bucket tool. My first thought was to just redo the fill circles so that you could do one-click filling, but the idea stuck to me to completely overhaul them for those who like nice, clean files.

I first began work on a Kraata checklist, which I posted here in the Art Topic a few months ago. Sadly, the Topic was lost, as it was posted within the timeframe of data that we ended up rolling back on the forums.

So I figured that making the Krana/Krana-Kal Checklist and reposting a new Topic including both checklists would be a good idea, with the goal of posting a new Kanohi and Kanoka checklist in the meantime.

So here we are, the first two checklists:

    Krana / Krana-Kal Checklist

    krana-krana-kal_checklist_th.png

    100% Size | 45% Size

    Wild Kraata Checklist

    wild_kraata_checklist_th.png

    100% Size | 40% Size

Like I said earlier; you can expect a Kanohi and Kanoka checklist soon. The Kanohi checklist is currently in the WIP stage, and the Kanoka Checklist will follow shortly on its heels when it's complete! :)

I personally use the checklists scaled down to 40% / 45% because they're smaller and easier to handle, but the hi-res versions at 100% are here in case any of you feel daring enough to work with such large files. :P

As always, any kind of feedback is welcome. I'd like to know what the community would like to see in terms of interactability, such as importing the checklists to Flash or HTML5 to allow for easier tracking and updating of the lists ((I have a long-term goal of porting them to HTML5 eventually, but I need to get the mechanics of the markup down before I could even begin coding in it :P )).

Thanks a bunch guys, and I hope to see a lot of people using these! :D

  7. I've made an Alchemiter in LDraw and it looks really nice. More phernalia incoming. As for planets, I actually discussed that idea with Aho-Chan on Skype about that. They could be like the Star Wars sets coming out. But that's a bridge I'll cross later. :/
That sounds awesome! I hadn't actually thought of that, but It would be pretty cool. Maybe you could include a consort with each one?
Depends on what the mini model ends up being. Of course, this is all theoretical, as making actual planet sets would be pretty strenuous to make. :/
  8. As for the first minifig that will be created using the new decals, that's up to my Rendering Team. Thankfully, one of the members has started on Kanaya's hairpiece and I assure you, it's looking really good so far. ;)
Wow, it really is. That's great. :DJust a thought, Dirk's hair sort of sweeps backwards, while the minifig hair piece you used points forwards. As I don't have one of that piece to test the appearance, I'm just wondering, how does it look while facing backwards?
The piece used for Dirk right now swoops forward, unfortunately. Hopefully, the new mold we're developing will look canonical. :)
This looks interesting. I look forward to seeing where this goes...Do you plan on doing actual MoCs of the Sburb machines and the medium planets?

  9. I don't post on this site all that much these days, but after I saw how few replies this topic has received I had to post. It's a crime really. So much good work has gone into this project. The kid minifigs you have done look great so far. Better than basically every other HS minifig I've seen. Adding the shoes to the boys is gonna be rad as heck. Truly can't wait to see how that turns out. I'm envious of how you have a minifig of my fav character. :PDoc, in my humble opinion, does not transfer as well to the Lego format. If you look at both Hussie's sprite and your minifig you did a bloody good job. The problem is how Doc himself is so basic. As for the rest of the decals...wow...nice work. Any idea which figs you're going to make first? This is a really cool project. Keep up the good work.
Ahhahaha I'm really glad you appreciate the amount of work that went into it! :DAnd yeah, I wasn't too acceptant of the way Doc Scratch turned out. The two main issues are 1. I used a slightly modded stock decal, and 2. his head is difficult.Originally, I drilled a hole in a silver Zamor Sphere and painted it white, but the paint chipped and also the Zamor Sphere was too large anyway so I scrapped the idea and moved on. :)As for the first minifig that will be created using the new decals, that's up to my Rendering Team. Thankfully, one of the members has started on Kanaya's hairpiece and I assure you, it's looking really good so far. ;)
  10. Great idea, I'll be eager to see where it goes. I really like the Dirk minifig, it looks just like him. :PWill you be building Jack or Lord English at any point? I would imagine that they would have to be at least partially brickbuilt...
I'm really glad that you like the Dirk minifig! :)As for Jack Noir and Lord English...I haven't decided how I'm going to do carapaces yet, but...Lord English is indeed a minifig that I've conceptualized and planned for. ;)

Yo.So, this is a project I've been toying with for a while now. That is, making actual minifigs and cool model's based on Andrew Hussie's Homestuck. I've seen it done by other people too but I guess what the aim here is a more professional grade rendition of this fantastic storyline.I've made up decals for darn near every single one of the 8 human players and 12 troll players, with the pre-Scratch trolls on their way as soon as they're seen in-story rendered in a symbolic manner (( That hasn't stopped me from toying around with some designs, though )).Before you ask, yes, most of the physical production hasn't occured yet; most is still in design stage. Decals are done, fabric elements are in the works, and custom hair pieces (!) are also in the works.Per rules of posting in the LEGO-Based Creations forum, I do have some photos of physical minifigures that I've produced. The three that've been made are merely prototypes and will see much-needed updates/upgrades in the future.

    Doc Scratch

    legodocscratch.jpg

The first of the LEGOStuck minifigs, he's actually not in my possession anymore. He was the prize in a giveaway I did on a popular blogging website.

    Dave Strider

    tumblr_lx71ed5gic1qgz3yto1_500.jpg

The second of LEGOStuck minifigs, he is also not in my possession, but is being kept by my girlfriend. She has him in the pocket of one of her hoodies and likes to carry him around everywhere. Kinda sweet, really.

    Dirk Strider

    dirk_strider_prototype.jpg

The most recent of the LEGOStuck minifigs and longest to complete. He is the only minifig still in my possession and he may or may not stay that way, at least until his upgraded form is made. And yes, I am aware of the random Dirk sprite in the photo; I forgot to save a sprite-less copy, oops. At least you get a comparision picture. Now; on to business! As far as new, upgraded minifigs go, the main difference we'll see is more variation in the figs. Dave and Dirk will cease to only have black legs; Dave will have his red and white Converse, while Dirk will have his gray and white Vans. Dirk will have short sleeves, Dave will have long sleeves. The key to this is a different type of decal paper than what I've been using; as of now, I've been using Papillio Waterslide Decal Paper Clear. As the name suggests, the decal paper applies on clear, while the design stays. This is good for applying dark decals to lighter bricks (( such as black facial features on a Light Flesh minifig head)), but is not ideal for lighter decals to darker bricks. That is why, recently, I purchased Pipillio Waterslide Decal Paper White. Again, as the name suggests, this applies white instead of clear. The difficulty in using the white, however, is that the RGB for a specific LEGO color must be matched exactly or the seam will be more visible depending on how different the tone is. I still need to throw some color swatches in a PNG and print it to color test against a brick but I haven't really had time to yet. :White and black are easy; #FFFFFF and #000000, respectively. No real deviation there. everything inbetween will be trickier.Below are some of the decals that I've designed thus far:

  12. So...How about that EOA6A3? Any theories about why

Caliborn's Kernel turned into a black hole (or whatever you'd call the shape from the art on Calliope's wall)? My idea's that it's because it had to function as both Calliope's and Caliborn's, but this may have all been part of Caliborn's intentions to MESS THINGS uP.Speaking of whom, that's some name. Talk about an obvious connection to Lord English. So, is it a red herring? Or is all the talk about red herrings that surrounds Caliborn a red herring in itself? Is the concept of a red herring a red herring? Are red herrings--I'll just stop here and save you all from a pathetic joke

    ~ BioGio

It was two Kernelsprites -- both Calliope's and Caliborn's -- prototyping each other. Since that is a paradox, almost like dividing my zero, the Kernelsprites collapsed in and formed a black hole.As for the name Caliborn, it's from an archaic form of Excalibur. Excalibur reference to Dave, connecting Caliborn to Time. ouo
  13. Whoa, so hey.First topic on BZPower in over a year; cool.Well, a while ago, I was rejuvinated in my desire to complete my Kanohi/Krana/Kraata collections. I keep track of what I have using the checklists that were created years ago. I believe they were made by member Master of the Cube.I really liked those checklists a lot. But one thing that I came to discover is that they are quite difficult to use for virtual logging of progress. Printing them out on paper and using a pencil works fine with them, but the JPG quality makes it very hard to just use a bucket fill whenever you add a new Krana to your collection, or aquire a new Kanohi. So I took it upon myself to begin construction of newer, PNG file type checklists to share with everyone. :)And so, here is the first of many, the Wild Kraata Checklist:

    wild_kraata_checklist_th.png

    Wild Kraata Checklist (1491 x 1600)

And of course, there is a Hi-Res Version (3728 x 4000) for those of you who like BIG things. :PI am a minimalist, so there isn't a terribly huge amount of story information that will be included with these. Just pure and simple charts to log your additions into.Watch this space; more checklists are to come.
